As previous project, MuxMan has rejected the DTS track. Try to force AC3 re-encode.

I'm thinking of removing DTS tracks retention... really to many issues with new DTS-HD tracks...

Hi Mrc,

Perfect. Thanks for reply and hope you enjoy your vacancy! Im already on it right now, it's my second week, so take your time, we need vacancy :p

Thank You,

EDIT: A question, i use XWindows Dock for my Windows 7 for shorcust and saw that the icon is under a low resolution. I just would like to know if you had one in high resolution available or i can help you design one! I like designing in Photoshop.

Sometimes ago OAKside created this high res icon (http://oakside24.deviantart.com/art/AVStoDVD-97285461) for Vista, but feel free to experiment and design a new one!

Tel me what you think about theses 3 versions:

They are in PNG, i just need to resize and took a .ICO converted for my photoshop x64 CS4/CS5!

Version #1:

Let me know what you think about theeses design.

Fell free to use!! :-)

Question, what is Ack'ed ? "Hacked" ? Sorry im french canadian and some words and sentense that i don't know.

Here here the .ICO file compatible for any version of Windows, including Vista/7! I also resized the logo to be a little bigger.

EDIT: here the download of the .ICO file
http://cid-10f449f32e80d9b2.office.live.com/self.aspx/.Public/AVStoDVD%5E_v3b.rar

I build everything myself in photoshop and i could modifiy everything.

Also, during the conversion, your program used the slash image and resize it to a little one, resized more smallest then the splash image. The image show distorsion about the minimise the image. I can design another one and try to design another one.

Can you set another one and i could make another image, different from the splash screen?

EDIT: Question: Did i need to check an option to activate subtitle importation from a m2ts avchd file? It has 3 subtitles on the m2ts and none in the exported dvd. It says "Subtitles not present" in the title edit. It's not only one movie, but all of them. If i remember, if i used an mkv has a source, subtitles has sucessfully imported, but i am not sure at 100%.

Ack'ed = Acknowledged

Please feel free to design a new splash screen image: graphics stuff can be improved as well as code... I am a bit devoted to original splash image, but a new astounding image can win my heart... at least in the Progress Status window.

About subs extraction from input files, take a look to the Help file. From Help/How to use it/Main Window/Source Titles Section:
If source file contains more than 1 Subtitles track, AVStoDVD will ask for track selection, with the option (mandatory) to demux it. This option is avaliable only for Matroska containers and only if MKVExtract (part of MKVToolnix package) is found in the current system.

I will work on your splash screen when having free times when baby will sleep.

Did you mean the first version that i've made or the one is currently used in your software right now? If the original has right now, take a look at the version 4!! :)

You have to be sure that the directshow audio mixer is setup properly. In your case the setup mixer should be set as "stereo" (in ffdshow it is 2/0/0).

If you have more than one AC3 decoder installed (i.e. ffdshow and AC3Filter) you should setup correctly both of them. Or better, do use just only one...

If the mixer side is ok, please post the project log file.

@8ternity

well mate, you are doing a damn good job! v4 is simply fantastic. I do believe I will adopt it as main splash screen! v2 is good too, more elegant I would say. I could put it into the Progress Status window.

May I ask you to resize (redesign actually)
- v4 to 640x480 px
- v2 to 280x224 px taking away the text?

Many, many thanks for your time. It is really appreciated.

;)

P.S. Would you like to design some new DVD Menu Backgrounds as well?

@MRC:

Question: Did we can bypass the sampling process with HCenc before converting? Did we have obligated to use that fonction? Sometimes it took over 20-25 minutes depending of the m2ts source DVD5 or DVD9.

MrC
10th August 2010, 12:50
@8ternity

are you meaning the sampling pass performed if 'HCenc VBR 1-pass' profile is selected? If yes, it is mandatory to find the correct quantization values to be used afterward.

If you want more speed you can select 'QuEnc CBR 1-pass' as encoding profile.

Yes... ok i understand. Normally i took the other one, but we had encoured problem with conversion in previous discussion so it's why we used that one. I just remember that we use normally the QuENC CBR process, but we had problems with it, it's why we switch to HCenc 2-PASS.

Here the answer that you give: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1417894#post1417894 --

Edit:One of them is resolved. I uncheck "uncompliant dvd audio"!

Is there a setting to "copy audio" instead of re-encoding..or is that not possible due to the fact we are splitting it up in 1 gig VOB files?

MrC
11th August 2010, 12:46
4 Movies crashed in audio conversion

But log files are 2... and only first has failed...

BTW in the first one project, FFmpeg has both refused to demux the AC3 track and to encode it (as backup routine). I would suggest to run the m2ts thru TsRemux and fix it or extract the required video/audio streams.

If the audio is DVD compliant, it is already copied (demuxed, not re-encoded). For more details, see the Help section.

1. Not all DTS tracks are DVD compliant. I.e. 24 bit resolution DTS tracks are not DVD compliant (thus AVStoDVD re-encodes it).

2. Mixer: have you installed AC3Filter too, other than ffdshow? If yes, uninstall it.

3. What is your operating system? If W7, than install Preferred Filter Tweaker and select ffdshow as AC3 decoder.

thanks..that solves that mystery..yes my DTS was 24 bit

Yes, do I have to uninstall it..since I use if for other SW..os there a way to make your interface ignore it?

O.k...found Filter Tweaker 3.0
I ran it, but see no AC3 option
ffdshow is selected for all others except WMV1,2,3 and WMVA

Again..i see no AC3

Thanks

Thus the remaining option is to setup both AC3Filter and ffdshow mixer as 5+1 output.

(I have no W7 system, so I can only quote other AVStoDVD+W7 users experience in this thread or outside (http://adubvideo.net/how-to/setup-proper-decoding-chain-windows-7) Doom9).

But log files are 2... and only first has failed...

BTW in the first one project, FFmpeg has both refused to demux the AC3 track and to encode it (as backup routine). I would suggest to run the m2ts thru TsRemux and fix it or extract the required video/audio streams.

;)

I Know, i have erased the first 2 conversions. I was thinking about configurations i've mist to set in the settings..

How does we fix an m2ts? Did txmuserGUI has a settings to check for errors?

Thanks!

Just open TsRemux (http://www.videohelp.com/download/TsRemux0212.exe), load your m2ts file, select the streams you want to keep and then remux to output file.

Could someone please assist me in getting 6 channel audio from a 6 channel audio source?

I've tried the Win7Tweaker, no AC3 option.

I have AC3 installed, but have watched the toolbar during the audio encoding phase (FFMpeg) and AC3 is not loaded

I have went into FDSHOW Audio Encoder, mixer and tried same as input and 3/0/2 option..still 2 channel. Also, after the AVSto DVD process, if I go BACK and check FFDSHOW audio encoder options..it's back to 2/0/0 in the mixer option...even after changing it prior.

A screenshot of what I'm supposed to do would help.

I'm running Win7

Hi MrC,

I don't know if it has been reported earlier but version 2.31 crashes on my W7 64bit when I enable the checkbox "Use External player" on the Paths tab in preferences I get an error Run-Time Error '5': Invalid procedure call or argument.

BTW Works fine on my other machine with XP SP3

If you have left on the 'Preferences'/'Misc'/'Adjust ffdshow Mixer Output at runtime' (default is on), then AVStoDVD will change mixer accordingly to project settings.

Please follow these steps:

- Uninstall AC3Filter and any other AC3 directshow decoder other than ffdshow
- Open AVStoDVD
- Make sure that 'Preferences'/'Misc'/'Adjust ffdshow Mixer Output at runtime' is on
- Setup your AVStoDVD project
- Make sure that 'Title Edit'/'Audio'/'Channels Mode' is '5.1' (it should be, if input title has 5+1 audio)
- Run the project
- Copy and paste here the project log file

Thanks for the W7 bug report. I must force myself to install W7... and add W7 to the supported OS list...

That routine checks if the reg key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Gabest\Media Player Classic\ExePath
is present and has a value. If not, it checks the reg key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\AVIFile\shell\open\command
probably W7 default avi player reg key is a bit different...

Value of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Gabest\Media Player Classic\ExePath is C:\Program Files\Media Player Classic - Home Cinema\mpc-hc64.exe.

Is there an .ini file I could manually set this value?

No ini file, but there is a reg key for AVStoDVD as well ;)

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\AVStoDVD

and you can edit (create new if it does not exist) the string 'PreviewerPathName'

Or you can simply select the 'Previewer Player Path' using the form 'Preferences'/'Paths' and then 'Save current Preferences as default'

There is no reg key for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\AVStoDVD

I manually created it and also PreviewerPathName under it. I entered exact the same value as for ExePath (there are no quotes). Then I execute AVStoDVD with admin rights but no luck. It still crashes when hitting the checkbox.
I cannot enter the value manually into Preview Player Path unser Pref/Path because the textbox is disabled as long as the checkbox is not set :)

let's wait for AC3Filter uninstalled test. :)

Before uninstalling AC3Filter, if you load the mkv into GraphEdit and press 'Render Media File', what does the audio path say?

@ggtop

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\AVStoDVD key is created at first Preferences 'save as default' or if a DVD Menu is created. Of course I'm talking about W2k, XP or Vista. W7 is still a mystery to me ;)

my dear... of course... I remember some old bios asking you to press F1 to continue when no keyboard was found during bootstrap...

If you cannot solve the reg key issue, please wait for next release with the GUI bugfix. BTW thanks for reports.

AC3 Filter - damn..never used the graphedit SW. So, is it AC3Filter that is resetting FDShow to 2/0/0? If so, can I fix it WITHOUT removing AC3Filter?

Thanks for your help..I like learning

MrC

So, is it AC3Filter that is resetting FDShow to 2/0/0?

No, never said that. ffdshow mixer is reset to 2/0/0 by AVStoDVD at the end of the encoding process, IF at the beginning it was at 2/0/0 AND if the 'Preferences'/'Misc'/'Adjust ffdshow at runtime' is on.

If so, can I fix it WITHOUT removing AC3Filter?

Yes, by setting AC3Filter mixer to 5+1.

BTW if you use GraphEdit and render your mkv, you will get what decoder you are using (ffdshow or AC3Filter). Example:
https://sites.google.com/site/avstodvdmain/GraphEdit.png

HKEY_USERS\...\Software\Classes\VirtualStore\MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\AVStoDVD
and
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\AVStoDVD

Entering the value manually lets AVStoDVD crash as soon as I hit the preferences button.

W7 is also mysterious to me...

All other keys in the A2D branches seem to look fine..OutputPath, LocalAppDataPath etc.

No need to hurry.. I have 2 machines running XP left :)

And I have another problem.
I want to convert my avis (DV) to DVD.
I'm only testing in the moment and use short clips.

I made a DVD with motion menu yesterday at home (XPSP3). Worked fine
Today I tried to do exactly the same on the other machine (XPSP3), but it didn't work ???
QuEnc created a 0kb .m2v for the menu and then muxman fails.

I didn't find a log for QuEnc but the .avs file for the menu seems to be OK.

ggtop

Edit: I found that QuEnc fails if "enable multithread.." is checked. I have a P4 3.4 GHz...
Edit2: But QuEnc stills fails on creating the motion menu m2v ???

MrC
18th August 2010, 12:21
@ggtop

if you try to run the menu avs file with VirtualDub or MPC, does it work?

Any differences in codecs on the 2 machines?

QuEnc should not crash depending to the multithread on/off. Moreover multithread is activated IF option is on AND if more cores/cpus are detected.

;)
