The eac3to no problem to convert aac to mp3? It seems that depends on Nero, I faced this problem with HDConvertToX, always gave eac3to error when used to convert an audio file of a mkv/h264/aac for a avi/xvid/mp3. So I hope that eac3to will sum, but not totally replace the besweet.

Command Line Syntax
There are basically 3 ways to use eac3to depending on the input file(s): 1. audio or video file, 2. Container file or 3. Disc folder.
[edit]Using audio or video files as input
In this category we deal with inputs like simple audio files (AC3, TrueHD, DTS-HD, WAV, etc) or simple video files (e.g raw H.264, VC-1 or MPEG-2 streams). In this case the command line will look like this:
eac3to input.file+input.file.2 output.file -options
input.file ~ It's the file to be processed. eac3to can accept various audio formats like RAW, (L)PCM, WAV (PCM only), AC3, E-AC3, DTS, DTS-ES, DTS-96/24, DTS-HD Hi-Res, DTS-HD Master Audio, MLP, TrueHD, TrueHD/AC3, FLAC, video formats like VC-1, H.264, MPEG-2.
+input.file.2 ~ Multiple input files (of the same format) are accepted. This is useful when the input file is split among several parts. Use the + symbol to add more.
output.file ~ This is the output file that eac3to will create. It could be an audio format like RAW, (L)PCM, WAV (PCM only), WAVs (multiple mono WAV files, PCM only), AC3, DTS, FLAC, video format like VC-1, H.264, MPEG-2 or Matroska (MKV) container. eac3to can also output audio (only) data to stdout for for further processing by other applications.
-options ~ Here you can set the options that tell eac3to how to operate. Not all of them are applicable to all input / output formats. If none set, the default is used when necessary. When using an audio or video file as input, the following options are available:

What would be better is just setup the GUIs for all the encoders like nero for aac, oggenc2 for vorbis, ffmpeg for ac3, etc but eac3to I may be willing to compromise but only after I see it in action in StaxRip. Otherwise have hope that eac3to will be implemented to the StaxRip GUI.
My only issue is command lines meh can't do it lol. should've learned it by now yet something keeps me away from learning it...

I saw this command running, but always gave an error, as I said when I was using HDConvertToX, he opened the window and I'm sure I saw that command you mentioned, but nevertheless resulted in an error, because I do not know , But the HDC had in all 4 option to convert the audio, only eac3to not work, then I got a bad impression of him.

Ah maybe wrong place to ask but gonna ask regardless: Presets. Never really use em before outta fear that it overrides my x264 settings which from the looks of my encodes made presets worthless. Same thing applies to tuning as I am quite paranoid ever since the last time i used a preset it somehow disabled cabac and went on with cavlc D:. So here is my question since from what I've read in doom9 so far everyone uses them: Do presets and tuning override override and if not then can you explain what happened with the encode I did which despite I set to use cabac it decided to disabled it and use cavlc instead (is it cavlc or calvc i dont remember the name)

Good link to tuning and presets and nice pic. however that still doesn't explain how Cabac was disabled when I made sure it was on. Well regardless I will keep on with tuning at disabled and preset at medium (no change) out of personal convenience especially when dong a test to see if it was needed: Seriously a waste of time doing presets and tuning it affects the end result (quality) as much as checking or unchecking the show progress option in the x264 settings dialog tab #5.
Well in any case as a guy who never went with presets or tuning save tests and one occasion I will stick with no preset tuning policy as it may affect encoding time? (although i may have done tests i never recorded amount of time taken i should've done freakin logs :_: )

x264 presets, tuning system come very handy in cmd.exe
with StaxRip.exe creating your own profiles is ideal just tweak x264 for your source save profile name it for later projects you can even import switches right into StaxRip

you could import x264 switches you find or someone shares with you then copy them to the clipboard import them to help you create your own profiles it makes testing different x264 switches alot easier
for example someone can suggest some tweaks to your profile they can post the switches for you to try you copy import test save profile:)

Preview 9 fixes the YV12 crash, fixes MP3 VBR ~160 profile using 0.3 instead of 0.5 (maybe this was the reason for the down sampling?) and allows to enter any mod 16 bitrate for AC3, there are some other minor things, nothing that could introduce new bugs since I would like to make a new official release soon.

Especially since the only thing BeSweet can handle is .mp3 and .ac3 extensions (so far maybe .ogg but not sure). And so we continue to wait.

1.1.2.4 preview9 like this:
http://img265.imageshack.us/img265/1435/1124p9.jpg
Can final 1.1.2.4 look in xp same way as 1.1.2.3, or even simpler; as old StaxRip and with more space for command line in encoder; not evryone like it to be colorfull fancy pancy, can`t there be ability to change profiles, standard old windows gui and fully futured new aero win7 thing...?
thx

@dev84
backup your C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\StaxRip "Settings.bin" \ Templates (*.rip) somewhere safe then delete the folder
now run 1.1.2.4 Preview 9 and see if it fixes the problem

I have a problem, I was converting multiple files and 10 files each, one was valued much higher than I put (This is using the Xvid coming in K-Lite Codec Pack) until there is no problem. The problem is that I uninstalled K-lite and I use that comes with Xvid StaxRip, then in 10 files converted 8 was much higher (from what I tolerate), then installed the cvs version 1.3.0 which has the site XVIDVideo . ru, dai started out a little less every 10 to 10 times. And now the problem is that even using the xvid K-lite the problem continues, never gets close to the size I described. And again, the option to delete the temporary is not working with me. Does anyone know the solution?
*Sorry for bad English, I use google translator.

@Havokdan
what settings did you use in StaxRip and Xvid?
for example what do these settings look like in Xvid?

The second image is the same, but I edited the first image with the values that had the profile of MeGui Xvid to Home Theater (I-frame boost 100, overflown from 5 to 10 and compression curve for 30 and 15), but I always used these settings. I am all week doing conversions with this setting and only today that I did what I said in previous post is that I am facing problem.

Must be something theraputic about posting. I just solved this not 5 minutes after posting. It just wasn't what I expected.
Conflict in Avisynth plugins folder :eek:
