@Multitask
How do you convert to AC3 using USEac3To? I can't get it to work. Is there a way without manually entering the command line parameters?
Also, is there a deinterlace setting in Staxrip? I couldn't find it.

DGDecNV is a decoder/frameserver for AVC, MPEG2, and VC1 streams that runs on the GPU of Nvidia graphics cards that support CUDA video decoding
I don't have a nvidia card lol. So I guess I can't run it or its not a requirement? my gpu is like from intel and its ram is 63mb D:

DGDecNV (http://neuron2.net/dgdecnv/dgdecnv.html) requires a Nvidia Graphics Card with a VP2 or greater engine (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PureVideo#Table_of_PureVideo_.28HD.29_GPUs)

I can now with the latest preview but whats annoying is that I can't choose the bitrate myself. And why is 384 kbps on the multi channel only and not on the 2.0 stereo?
384 is commonly used for 5.1, next version will support 256 for 2.0, shouldn't this be enough?
Apparently I cannot modify the Bitrate for the audio using the AC3 audio format in audio profiles any reason for this?
There is a link label to show a menu where you can select common AC3 bitrates.
@consultant
BeSweet wasn't able to process the 5.1 wav file decoded with ffmpeg, I've changed the default handling to decode using NicAudio, until I upload a new built you can enable NicAudio decoding in the options.
You can choose the font that uses the program, which began to be used in the latest previews is very bad in Windows XP, it could change the options?
I've setup XP in VirtualBox and fixed the most ugly things. Some things will remain though like the menu looking not so good.
@MuLTiTaSK
Thanks for the video with minor bugs, should work in the next built.
@cegy
I would need the command line of the old version which worked, the command line of the new version which is broke and media info or better a sample clip. StaxRip should not remove audio profiles from old versions any longer, it pushes them down in the menu structure to Advanced | Backup, you can move the old profiles up the menu structure at the top level easily use the profiles dialog.

true but when you click edit it crashes which is kind of odd :/ i've fixed the audio problem with the sample rate but the profile/settings has always been one of the draw back for staxrip it works and it crash or it doesn't do anything and back to the default settings/setup

Most important settings are not reset any longer so this isn't a draw back any longer. If it crashes please send diagnostic files assuming the exception handling don't fail.

when is audio decoding mode activated?
This forces decoding, normally StaxRip decodes only when it has to like BeSweet not supporting the input format, most commonly are the formats dts and aac.
BeSweet crashes with the file consultant uploaded from audio settings even after setting NicAudio
Execute now just runs the BeSweet command line, in your case it uses the dts file as source which isn't supported by BeSweet. Decoding, cutting etc. runs only when running the project.

can LPCM: NicLPCMSource("FileName.lpcm", int "SampleRate", int "SampleBits", int "Channels") be used to support .pcm audio?
after demuxing .m2ts with DGIndex it places the same .m2ts file as audio track not the .pcm track i want to convert the 5.1 .pcm track to a 5.1 .m4a track
DGIndexNV is still crashing :(

384 is commonly used for 5.1, next version will support 256 for 2.0, shouldn't this be enough?
There is a link label to show a menu where you can select common AC3 bitrates.
Well you can say that but I have alot of DVDs that speaks a different tale as 384kbps 2.0 stereo is the most common for Dolby digital as far as DVDs concern.
Also thx for preview 8 gonna get it now.

"No-I-frame" streams cannot be processed.
Need auto horizontal scrollbar in file list dialog (no scrollbar when not needed).
DGParse should show the effects of FF decimation/replication.
Need to add back the autoincrement open option.
Not all DGIndex funtions are available through the CLI, and not all information that
DGIndex gathers can be accessed by a third-party application. For example, the DGIndex

Decode to WAV is limited to 2GB WAV files.
DGDecode macroblocks on some severe video errors for which DGIndex recovers without

DGMPGDec needs to be able to load older D2V files. Backward compatibility in general
should be a strong requirement.
DVR-MS files are not supported.
DGIndex should do audio playback.
DGIndex should process multiple audio streams from transport streams (just as it does
for program streams). Currently, only one audio PID can be specified at a time.
Unicode paths and file names are not supported.
DGIndexNV can demux all audio tracks from transport streams with no problems called from commandline

I uninstalled some other encoding software and Staxrip crashed and then gave me a message next time I tried to encode about YV12 not registered and a button to register FFDShow. I re-installed FFDShow just to be sure, hit the button in Staxrip's pop-up to register it, but when it goes to encode it fails with a message that it failed to decode YV12. Help! Thanks.

I uninstalled Xvid, MeGui, and Haali Media Splitter, then had the problem. I don't use any of those three programs.

Preview 9 fixes the YV12 crash, fixes MP3 VBR ~160 profile using 0.3 instead of 0.5 (maybe this was the reason for the down sampling?) and allows to enter any mod 16 bitrate for AC3, there are some other minor things, nothing that could introduce new bugs since I would like to make a new official release soon.

can you add options to encode to other formats with eac3to
ffmpeg + BeSweet combo gives me problems as you see in my previous posts above
eac3to option in decoding mode in project options
eac3to detect tracks and encodes them with no problems

I just got preview 9. Its a good improvement but I got a question. I also have MeGUI installed (in the event that StaxRip's audio encoding fails to start good to have a backup) and when I setup peview 9 apparently it forgot the location to the avisynth plugins as it didnt recognise dgdecode_mpeg2source or something like that..Is staxrip influenced by other GUI settings as it turns out I checked my MeGUI's avisynth path and its path is outdated as I deleted the folder which the path has chosen, so I redirected it to the correct folder the plugins are and all of a sudden staxrip works and remembers where the Avisynth plugins folder is at. Any reason for that???
Also although I think this has been answered already but I am going to say it differently. When I was opening source a pop up came up and asked to confirm what to use for encoding and decoding or something like that such as use divx h264 decoder and ffmpeg for the rest How do I set it so that I use CoreAVC 2.0 for H.264 and if it is set does the CoreAVC tray icon show up during encoding in the traybar? I have a feeling Im using Divx h264 decoder when I dont want it heck I don't even have it installed (at least i think I dont but I dont see CoreAVC 2.0 tray icon at the traybar during encoding this has bugged me before it does show up why not now?)

Did you register the yv12 decoder thing? I did and it works fine for me. Maybe its codec issues install CCCP lol then install latest ffdshow tryouts maybe that will fix the problem.

@consultant
That is another problem, something with your system, normally StaxRip detects system problems, in your case it failed and it might be difficult to find the reason, please send diagnostic files. Can VirtualDubMod open the avs file? What decompressor does it show under File / File Infomation? Does it happen with any source type or only with a particular file?
@MuLTiTaSK
Features relevant for Blueray will be added but it's not a easy task and therefore it will take time.
NicAudio get's invoked by StaxRip for the following types: mpa mp2 mp3 dts ac3, regarding pcm, would it work without additional parameters? Don't pcm require always manual parameters as it's raw data without meta data? I absolutely avoid raw data without meta data for practical reasons.
StaxRip use manual loading and right now it's case sensitive so either you need the plugin in the plugin directory to use auto loading or you need exact spelling (MPEG2Source) otherwise the LoadPlugin calls won't be added by StaxRip. You can read about auto loading in the AviSynth documentation. I'll make it better case insensitive.
Also although I think this has been answered already but I am going to say it differently. When I was opening source a pop up came up abd asked to confirm what to use for encoding and decoding or something like that such as use divx h264 decoder and ffmpeg for the rest How do I set it so that I use CoreAVC 2.0 for H.264 and if it is set does the CoreAVC tray icon show up during encoding in the traybar? I have a feeling Im using Divx h264 decoder when I dont want it heck I don't even have it installed (at least i think I dont but I dont see CoreAVC 2.0 tray icon at the traybar during encoding this has bugged me before it does show up why not now?)
Did you try GraphStudio? It's a difficult topic and there isn't a great tutorial.

Havent heard of GraphStudio what does it do?
[edit] just got it so how do i use it? This is all i did so far: open it up then open up a media file that I know is done in h264, then look and saw only coreavc being there is that a good sign I may be using corevac instead of any other codec?

StaxRip with Blu-ray support is gonna own ALL other GUI's let me know if when you need early beta testing i would be glad to stress test StaxRip for you;)
i hate having to do all these extra steps using BDInfo, DGIndexNV, eac3to, tsMuxer, SupRip, BDSup2Sub outside of my precious StaxRip:(

AC3: NicAC3Source("FileName.ac3", int "Channels", int "DRC")
DTS: NicDTSSource("FileName.dts", int "Channels", int "DRC")
MPA: NicMPG123Source("FileName.mpa", bool "Normalize")
LPCM: NicLPCMSource("FileName.lpcm", int "SampleRate", int "SampleBits", int "Channels")
RAW: RaWavSource("FileName.raw", int "SampleRate", int "SampleBits", int "Channels")
Where:
"Channels" Maximum number of channels to output (Downmix). Optional.
"DRC" Apply Dynamic Range Compression algorytm. 0 means nothing (default), 1 means Normal
"Normalize" Apply the max gain without clip signal. Default false.
"Channels" Necessary for lpcm and raw files. Max 8 channels.
"SampleBits" Necessary for lpcm and raw files. Valid values 8/16/24/32 (also 33 (32 float) for raw)
(lpcm also accept 20 and -8/-16/-24/-32. Negative values are for BluRay lpcm (big-endian))
"SampleRate" Necessary for lpcm and raw files. In RaWavSource a value < 9 means a header with valid
values for SampleRate/SampleBits/Channels and now means:
IgnoreLength 1 force ignore the data size read in the header also in 64 bits formats.
2 ignore the data size 32 bits read in the header if > 2GB. (default)
4 ignore the data size 32 bits read in the header if > 4GB.
Supported files (all can be > 4GB):
ac3 (TODO: support also eac3 files or Dolby Digital Plus)
dts also dtswav supported
mpa mpeg files: mp2 and mp3
lpcm from DVD Audio, from BluRay with -SampleBits
raw and uncompressed formats: WAV, WAVEFORMATEXTENSIBLE, W64, BWF, RF64, AU, AIFF and CAF

maybe adding some of the demuxing switches from eac3to to StaxRip like -core have eac3to demux core DTS track add to mux with final encode

No Question in my mind that StaxRip is the GUI of all encoding GUI's!
stax76 coding gifts are second to none once you know how to use his magic you look no further for your encoding projects :D
ever since stax76 ended DVX development and started working on StaxRip i knew something special was taking place and boy was i right:eek:

Theres alot more where that came from I had to cut alot of text since apparently it hit beyond a 16000 character limit or so but yeah the audio file came out as a broken 8kb file. Why all that happen no clue. The container for the audio file in question was .m4a any issues?

@turok
this happens from the audio settings? running job?
what are the specs of the source file?

BDSup2Sub (http://bdsup2sub.javaforge.com/help.htm)
While BDSup2Sub has a graphical interface, it can be used from the command line as well. Note that to start the GUI without an open console, use "javaw" instead under Windows.
Syntax1:
java -jar BDSup2Sub.jar [options]
If there is no file name given (all passed parameters are options starting with "/"), the GUI is started. Still you can pass options to e.g. preselect the target frame rate or resolution. If there's only one parameter which is either "/help" or "/?", a short help will be displayed in the console instead (i.e. the GUI will not start).
Syntax2:
java -jar BDSup2Sub.jar <in> [options]
If there is only file name ("<in>") given, the GUI is started and the file with the given name is loaded immediately. Options passed will be used as default settings if possible.
Syntax3:
java -jar BDSup2Sub.jar <in> <out> [options]
If there is an source file name <in> and a target file name <out>, the GUI is not started, but BDSup2Sub behaves like a command line application.Note that it's mandatory that the target file name has an extension, which might be either ".sup", ".ifo", ".idx" or ".sub". If the extension of the output file name is ".idx" or ".sub", the output format will be SUB/IDX. If the extension of the output file name is ".sup", the output format will be BD-SUP. If the extension is ":ifo", the output format is SUP/IFO.
Any of the following options may passed:
/res:<n> set output resolution to either 480, 576, 720 or 1080 - default 576.
You can also use "pal", "ntsc", "720p" or "1080p" instead.
For 1440x1080 use "/res:1440x1080"
Use "/res:keep" to keep the resolution of the source
/dly:<n> set delay in ms - default: 0.0. Will be synchronized to target frame rate.
/forced[+/-] export only forced subtitles - default: off (all subtitles are exported).
/forceall[+/-] set/clear forced flag for all subs - default: off (keep)
/swap[+/-] swap Cr/Cb components - default: off (don't swap).
/tmin:<t> set minimum display time in ms - default: 500
/tmerge:<t> set maximum time difference for merging captions in ms - default: 200
Note: currently only supported for BD-SUPs
/fps:<src>,<trg> convert frame rate from <src> to <trg> given as floating point values.
Predefined values; 24p=23.976, pal or 25p=25, ntsc or 30p=29.967
/fps:auto,<t> detects source frame rate automatically
/fps:<trg> synchronize target frame rate to <trg>. Default: automatic (dumb!).
Predefined values; 24p=23.976, pal or 25p=25, ntsc or 30p=29.967
"/fps:keep" preserves the source fps (for BD&XML, else default)
/filter:<f> set scaling filter - default: bilinear. Supported types:
bilinear, triangle, bicubic, bell, b-spline, hermite, lanczos3, mitchell
/movin:<r>[,<o>] move captions inside screen ratio <r>, plus/minus offset <o>
/movout:<r>[,<o>] move captions outside screen ratio <r>, plus/minus offset <o>
/movex:<t>[,<o>]] move captions horizontally. <t> may be "left", "right" or "center".
+/- optional offset <o> (only used if moving left or right)
/cropy:<n> crop the upper and lower n lines - default: 0
/acrop:<n> set alpha cropping threshold - default: 10
/scale:<x>,<y> scale captions with free factors - default: 1.0,1.0 (min: 0.5, max: 2.0)
/exppal[+/-] export target palette in PGCEdit text format - default: off (don't export)
/fixinv[+/-] fix zero alpha frame palette - default: off (don't fix)
Note: ignored if import format is neither SUB/IDX nor SUP/IFO.
/verbatim[+/-] switch on verbatim console output mode - default: off
/palmode:<s> palette mode: keep, create, dither - default: create
Note: if the export format is SUB/IDX, but the import format isn't, this
setting is ignored. If both input and output format are SUB/IDX, "dither"
is identical to "create".
The following options only make sense for SUB/IDX or SUP/IFO exports:
/atr:<n> set alpha threshold 0..255. Default 80
/ltr1:<n> set luminance low/mid threshold 0..255. Default automatic.
/ltr2:<n> set luminance mid/high threshold 0..255. Default automatic.
/lang:<s> set language to string <s> (e.g. "en" for English or "de" for German). Default: "de"
For a complete list, try /lang:?
Note that this also works for XML and BD-SUP exports, yet the full language selection is limited.
/pal:<s> load palette file named <s> (ini files exported from BDSup2Subs color edit dialog)
Note: boolean parameters like "/verbatim" or "/fixinv" can be switched on/off with a trailing "+" or "-". So "/verbatim" is the same as "/verbatim+", while "/verbatim-" switches the feature off. If a boolean switch is not used, the current value from the (automatically created) INI file is used. Only if no INI file exists, the default value is used.
Examples:
java -jar BDSUp2Sub.jar sup2.sup sup2.sub /lang:en /res:ntsc
java -jar BDSUp2Sub.jar sup2.sup sup2.sub /lang:no /atr:40 /res:1080 /forced /fps:24p,25p
java -jar BDSUp2Sub.jar sup2.sup sup2_exp.sup /lang:no /atr:40 /res:720p /forced-
Using wildcards at the command line
Since version 2.0, wildcards are supported at the command line (if both, source and target file name are given). Due to limitations of the Java runtime, the complete parameter string has to be enclosed in double quotes if wildcards are used!!! To still allow file names with spaces, use single quotes (apostrophes) then to enclose such file names.
Supported wildcards are "*" (asterisk) for at least one alphanumeric character including underscore and dot (a-z,A-Z,"_", ".") and "?" (question mark) for exactly one occurrence of an alphanumeric character.
Examples:
java -jar BDSUp2Sub.jar "reference\m?trix*.sup out\*.idx /lang:en /res:ntsc"
java -jar BDSUp2Sub.jar "'in path\m?trix*.sup' 'out path\*.idx' /lang:no /atr:40 /res:1080 /forced"
Note: the target file name must contain exactly one asterisk ("*") as wildcard. It will be replaced with the according source file name (stripped off its path and extension). If the source file name doesn't contain wildcards, the asterisk in the target file name will be replaced with the source filename stripped off its extension, but including the path.

@ MuLTiTaSK
Did an execute now on the profile dialog of the chosen profile with the audio file already selected and gave me that.
the extension i said earlier was a .m4a the specs here is the stuff mediainfo said it was:
Format : ADTS
Format/Info : Audio Data Transport Stream
Audio
Format : AAC
Format/Info : Advanced Audio Codec
Format version : Version 4
Format profile : LC
Muxing mode : ADTS
Bit rate mode : Variable
Channel(s) : 2 channels
Sampling rate : 48.0 KHz
This only happened with m4a and mka containers. I am well aware that reencoded an encoded audio file only degrades the uality but some people persist in doing that regardless I am only trying to bug test the audio thing which btw has been so far buggy. What I recommend: somewhere in the near future abandon BeSweet can't Stax76 just do GUI's for the separate audio encoders like nero for aac, oggenc2 for vorbis, etc and not let BeSweet handle it or is BeSweet not to blame here?

@turok
i must admit BeSweet is very buggy (outdated) maybe its time to be out with the old in with the new

@ MuLTiTaSK
Well although I already recognize that StaxRip is the Gui for encoding but if everyone else is to believe so as well then StaxRip must be efficient in all areas including the audio aspect of encoding. Stax76 can take his time as patience is key to a better GUI but its better to get rid of the parts of the GUI thats holding it down and replacing it with better parts rather than sticking with the degrading parts.

@turok
hopefully with time stax76 will implement more eac3to (http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Eac3to/How_to_Use) features in StaxRip and get rid of BeSweet

Indeed. Although eac3to won't be enough, its a start.

eac3to is so much more then audio it would enhance StaxRip alot alot more then BeSweet ever could

Same problem as stated before except this time with a .aac. the original source being from a .ts aac-lc constant 192kbps duration like 28 mins or so the output was 35kb and sound being severely broken. lol this seriously needs to get looked at.
