Just drop your ts file on GraphStudio, it'll build a graph then, it has a info feature (View / Text information (Ctrl+T)), it prints the following here:

--------------------------------------------------
Filters
--------------------------------------------------
1. D:\Aufnahmen\11-30_22-48-38_Das Erste HD_.ts
2. DivX H.264 Decoder
3. ffdshow Audio Decoder
4. Video Renderer
5. Default DirectSound Device

File: I:\DVBRECORD\12-03_17-34-04_Das Erste HD_.ts
2. ffdshow Audio Decoder
3. MainConcept AVC/H.264 Video Decoder
4. AC3Filter
5. Video Renderer
6. Default DirectSound Device
This is the result. It uses Mainconcept because thats the one used in DVBviewer (It uses only 20%CPU vs. Divx 40%). I will play withe the merits to make it use Divx

On Vista/Win 7 you would have get a task dialog btw., this API is new in Vista and heavily used by StaxRip for showing hyperlinks in messages, expand/hide long messages like the stack trace on crashes, messages with timeout closing automatically, link to copy messages to the clipboard and visit the support forum, checkbox to not show dialogs a second time and many other things, on XP you see only a message box, or something else half baked or no message at all and it's more likely to contain bugs since I don't test XP.

I don't know the main concept decoder. Is it free? I tried ffdshow and MS which is included with Win 7 and they have worked too. Do you need the AC3 filter, I'm using ffdshow only.

Lupissimo
3rd December 2009, 19:06
I got this message box also in XP :-)! But I did not succeed in getting a graph using divx , even though I changed the divx merrit to FF8000 and set Maincept to 008000.
Any idea how to get divx into the graph?? I would not like to completely uninstall mainconcept.

Lupissimo

Mainconcept comes with the DVB-Satcard. The AC3 I need because of the HDMI link to the Plasma display

stax76
3rd December 2009, 19:10
I know only the Win 7 way like the task dialog message explains, on XP I've used MPC IIRC to change merits. From where do you know about the main concept decoder? It's not very popular here.

Lupissimo
3rd December 2009, 19:14
As it came with the DVB Satcard software and gave better results than the coreavc codec I have used this. Lately Zoomplayer uses the latest ffddshow for h264 decoding as default.

Rare
While when I tried 1.1.2.1 never got a crash now after tried v1.1.2.2 close it and return to v1.1.2.1 I get a crash when I make right clic on any filter.

http://i45.tinypic.com/2ue1nib.jpg

Problem
At difference with v1.1.2.1 in v1.1.2.2 the autocrop crops half of the picture although there is nothing to crop, this didn't happen with v1.1.2.1, tested with the mkv sample that I uploaded weeks ago (the mkv with 2 audio streams)

Suggestion
Love the new audio profiles but the menus are to large, grouping by codec would be nice, also would be nice the return of the MP3 VBR -V0 among the audio profiles (I know that I can add it manually anyway)

:thanks: for this new version Stax :)

While when I tried 1.1.2.1 never got a crash now after tried v1.1.2.2 close it and return to v1.1.2.1 I get a crash when I make right clic on any filter.

I can only provide feedback for the latest version so if it crashes please send diagnostic files which StaxRip should suggest.

I'll test it if the file is still available.

I think it's better to have the most common stuff on top level with newbie friendly names. The menu structure is 100% customizable however so it's not a big issue.

Hi everybody,

Since the latest version was somehow broken I've uploaded a new one hoping it works better.

https://sourceforge.net/projects/staxmedia/files/StaxRip%20beta/StaxRip_1.1.2.3_beta.7z/download

1.1.2.3 beta

Added option to the profiles dialog to batch move profiles out of and into sub menus
Added new AviSynth plugins and filter profiles
Added new handling to deal with settings stored with old versions
Added better help integration
Replaced AviSynth plugin auto loading with manual loading
Fixed crashes reported by various users

It should not delete filter profiles, filter setup profiles, audio profiles or video profiles but rather move the old profiles into a Backup sub menu. I've tested this version loading projects, templates and profiles from version 1.1.1.4. The questions and notifications about new settings are also gone. This should save users from a lot of pain. Apparently StaxRip is not the only x264 GUI with issues loading old profiles. I hope this version improves the situation. Technically it's not a simple issue. Using anything from a backup menu should only be done with caution however, settings should be verified. I hope I can use this strategy for other settings as well. Also related here is the new feature in the profiles dialog to batch move profiles in the menu structure.

Not forcing or using plugin auto loading was done because new plugins were added and some users will find it surely annoying if a application dumps or renames all kind of plugins and help files in their plugin directory.

At difference with v1.1.2.1 in v1.1.2.2 the autocrop crops half of the picture although there is nothing to crop, this didn't happen with v1.1.2.1, tested with the mkv sample that I uploaded weeks ago (the mkv with 2 audio streams)

It's probably because I changed it to use only 8 instead of 20 samples for H.264 because 20 samples can be so painful slow that users could think the application did freeze.

Was trying to convert a .flv and I got this.

StaxRip has to rely on DirectShow filters to open this source file. This requires DirectShow filters necessary to open the source file being installed. Recommended filters are:

<a href="http://www.divx.com/en/products/software/windows/divx">DivX 7 for H.264 decoding</a>

<a href="http://haali.su/mkv">Haali Media Spliter to read various container formats</a>

<a href="http://ffdshow-tryout.sourceforge.net/index.php">ffdshow for everything else</a>

The filters might have to be activated using <a href="http://www.codecguide.com/windows7_preferred_filter_tweaker.htm">Win7DSFilterTweaker</a>. To verify which filters are active <a href="http://blog.monogram.sk/janos/tools/monogram-graphstudio">MONOGRAM GraphStudio</a> can be used.

When I selected "Try to open", there wasn't any audio track in the GUI.
The converted video didn't have audio as well.

Any idea how to fix this?:thanks:

Hi to everyone,

I need a little help from all of you to make my computer work like before.
What is the problem. After installing the version 1.1.2.2., all the movies i make i have a delay between sound and video. To be more accurate, the sound come first and after the video. Everything i have done it happens the same each time.

My settings are not different from the past versions.

Please any advice is welcomed.

PS: I encode to mkv container.

Thank you very much, and STAX... good work man till now, and keep going.

Batch appears to be broken in 1.1.2.3. Every time I add a few files after setting the bitrate, it tries to encode them at a much higher birate than I specify, most likely to the default file size of a 90 minute movie at that bitrate.

64bit: I guess it's not difficult to add so I have to think about it.

If encoding is anything like decoding then ALL of the filters used in encoding would also have to be 64bit, but I'm happy to be corrected if I am wrong on this.

Has anybody ever done a 32-bit vs 64-bit benchmark? Is there a specific benefit to going x64?

FAQ:
Q: What does it mean when I get a popup box Unexpected error encountered with Error Code: D3DERR_OUTOFVIDEOMEMORY.

A: It means that fft3dgpu needs more memory than there are availebol on the graphics card. So either you will have to upgrade or try lowering the resolution, precision, bt,bh,bw,ow,oh or use usefloat16=true or mode 0 or 2

@MuLTiTaSK

It's likely a bug in a AviSynth plugin which tried to corrupt memory managed by the .NET runtime.

Regarding your file, it was a Blueray m2ts file containing MPEG-2 video and 2 PCM audio tracks, media info didn't show which language it was. DGIndex can open it and extract a pcm file. I tried to convert the pcm file with eac3to but it said it couldn't find parameters and they should be passed manually. I'm not sure but I guess PCM files don't contain meta data which would be very bothersome. I've also tried to open the m2ts file with eac3to directly which gave an error so I'm not sure what would be a good way to handle the file.

the file got borked when i split it with DGSplit thats why eac3to cant process it i uploaded a new complete clip (http://tinyurl.com/yhon4ja) that i did'nt split that eac3to handles with no problem it has 2 .pcm tracks 1 2.0 other 5.1 that eac3to can convert to .ac3 i used simple eac3to gui for newbies like me (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=145574)

Glad to help, I've started getting into blueray but it will be a long way to go, it's somehow frustrating to keep up with the growing format jungle. Great feedback will certainly help. Stax,

Updated to 1.1.2.3b. I like the new layout and profiles, but forcefilm appears to be broken.
When backing up progressive DVDs, DGIndex may say it is 98% film, but when its done the main screen displays 29.97.
Also where it used to display anamorphic its now blank. Is this intentional?
I've been using IVTC to finish the encode, but I've read forcefilm is better if it's available.
I've looked in the options and I don't see a setting other than the threshold. Have I missed something?

Great program and it's been getting better and better lately.
