but otherwise, do you think they're made advances in the codec in terms of audio quality since the one in your package?

and how can i access the "new things", through editing the besweet cli?

or do you think dimzon can supply a new bse_WinampAacPlusV2.dll?
i thought he was updating it based on

I'm still working on my bse_* plugins.
the latest news are:
no more separate bse_WinampAacPlusV2_6ch.dll for 5.1 encoding - merged into bse_WinampAacPlusV2.dll
bse_WinampAacPlusV2.dll now produce AAC with MPEG4 ADTS header (Nic's AACPatch merged into bse_WinampAacPlusV2.dll) by default
bse_enhAacPlusEnc3GP.dll renamed to bse_enhAacPlusEnc.dll
no more enhAacPlusEnc.exe - reference encoder code merged directly into bse_enhAacPlusEnc.dll
bse_enhAacPlusEnc.dll now with 5.1 encoding ( still produce unplayable 5.1 AAC yet)]

Kurtnoise. What you have done (BeLight) is great! (IMHO)

I have two questions:
1) Would you be interested in including Aud-X to BeLight?
I could provide you with DLLs for encoding and decoding.
Is there a special interface that woule be most useful for you?
2) I have implemented a pseudosurround (for our DirectShow filter),
but it might be useful for BeLight too... (so a user could convert
some stereophonic streams into 5.1 compatible streams. For example mp3
to AC3 5.1, etc).

Please let me know what do ya think.

I don't think so...but I might be wrong.

you can't.

I hope....try to ping him. :)

yes why not...

cli might be more interesting...

OK, I must investigate what cli is..
Do you have some links or tips?

OK, I must investigate what cli is..
Do you have some links or tips?

CLI means "Command Line Interface"
like x264.exe, lame.exe or oggenc2.exe

Usually you launch the encoder program from the GUI application and let it run in the background.
This way the user doesn't need to handle any command-line instructions...

Can you make AviSynth plugin implementing such functionality?

You mean pseudosurround module?
Yes, why not.
Do you have some specification of the interface of such a plugin?

Hi guys. I've been trying out the latest beta 9 (both normal and lancer version) and have run across a number of bugs. Here are my comments/questions:

1) If I drag and drop multiple files into the main window for batch processing, I get the error "List index out of bounds (1)". However if I use the Open dialog box to add the files it's okay. The latest nightly dated 1-25-06 seems to have fixed this.

2) I tried a batch encode of 4 files, but it looks like only the 4th file is being processed. The current track bar goes to 100% but once done the number displayed is 00,00%. The total bar never moves and displays 00,00%. The time elapsed and remaining all show 00:00:00 and once done I get the green arrow icon on the bottom right.

3) If I click on Start Processing again after the initial failed batch encode, I get the error message "Access violation and address 004B4BD9 in module 'Belight.exe'. Read of address 00000030". But processing runs in the background behind the error message and again the last file gets processed. The current track bar and total bar are displayed as mentioned above, but this time the time elapsed keeps increasing and time remaining gets stuck at 00:00:01 once done. But I never get the green arror, the icon is stuck at the red stop button.

4) I tried again with the latest nightly build again I get the same problems, but the type of error messages shown are different... And also sometimes only the first file in the batch list gets processed, sometimes only the last. I can't figure out why it's not completely reproduceable.

5) Whenever I try to uninstall belight 0.22 beta 9, the uninstall program says it's done but all it ever does is removes uninstall.exe

6) Can previous beta releases be downloaded? I only see beta 9 available at corecodec

Hey Kurt,do you know of a way to apply the boost mode in part of a file, not all of it's sequence? So let's say i want to enhance the volume the first 2 minutes and the 4 last of an audio file.

How will i be able to achieve that?

Kurtnoise
3rd February 2006, 09:54
It is possible to do that...Check in Advanced Settings Partial Encoding. but you need to boost first the 2 minutes, then the 4 last one and finally to join each parts. Not easy...

I think it could be more interesting to do that with BePipe with an avs script (Trim(), etc...)

@Kurtnoise13 what's hapen with this new WA_aacPlus encoder and 6ch encoding. When i use to encode ac3->aac with mpeg4 bitstream he give me file a half of time of duration ac3, when i use mpeg2 then encoding not start.

Ok. The bug is 100% reproducable so it is easy to fix. Try this:
- start BeLight.exe
- open c:\temp\1.wav
- menu Edit - View BeSweet command
- you see "C:\Tools\BeLight-0.22_beta\BeSweet.exe" -core( -input "C:\Temp\1\1.wav" -output "C:\Temp\1\1.aac" -logfile "C:\Temp\1\1.log" ) -dimzon( -dllname WA_aacPlus.dll -cbr 32 -mpeg4 -mode 1 ) -ota( -g max )
- click on Copy button
- close the BeSweet command form with X button
- right click in files list
- Clear list
- open c:\2.wav
- menu Edit - View BeSweet command
- HERE you still see the command for 1.wav !

Hello Kurtnoise13...

When I try to convert an audio file (i.e. mp3 or mpa) into winamp's aac plus v2 I get this:

Logging start : 02/28/06 , 19:10:27.

C:\Program Files\BeLight\BeSweet.exe -core( -input C:\Faith Hill - There you'll be.mp3 -output C:\Faith Hill - There you'll be.aac -logfile C:\Faith Hill - There you'll be.log ) -dimzon( -dllname WA_aacPlus.dll -cbr 48 -mpeg4 -mode 4 ) -ota( -g max )

[00:00:00:000] | Input : C:\Faith Hill - There you'll be.mp3
[00:00:00:000] | Output: C:\Faith Hill - There you'll be.aac
[00:00:00:000] | Floating-Point Process: No
Error 84: error configuring bsn!
Quiting...
[00:00:00:000] Conversion Completed !

Logging ends : 02/28/06 , 19:10:27.

When I try, though, to encode in v1 everything seems ok. I cannot encode in mpeg4 as well. No matter what I put in the gui (mpeg2 or mpeg4), it encodes in mpeg2. At least that's what winamp's saying in its file info.

nickolasemp

How can I see that? I'm sure that I'm using winamp 5.2. Was this info helpful?

Edit: Problem solved. I had forgotten to put the enc_aacplus.dll from winamp's 5.2 dir to belight's dir... :stupid:
