On an interlaced 25fps clip. Does this cause problems?

I would like to use it for my dvds(interlaced) 25fps with x264.

Frame rate goes up to 50 and That is what you want. If you want lower framerates, take another deinterlacer.

Be sure to use PreFetch to increase the speed/performance. I find that a PreFetch of 6 works well.

As for FPS, the deinterlace choice depends on the source. Sometimes I can get away with YadidMod2. Other times QTGMC is the best choice. Of course, we're talking about 25 FPS source, or material that was incorrectly interlaced. I've had source material where the interlacing was visible in nearly every frame. Pick one and go to preview and step through some scenes where there is movement. That will help determine if the deinterlacing is being properly handled.

Another choice would be TDEint. I have had fair results with choosing the bob option, and setting the deinterlace type to 5.

Encoding at 50 FPS, or even higher depending on the source, does not appear to increase file size of the encode.

If you don't get an answer, I would suggest that you just test a 5 minute or so, sample of that video.

TBH, I don't use StaxRip very often, so you need to explain what you think the error is ??

Do you want the 50:50, or is that the problem ?

Looks like you need to manually change some settings to fix it.

You might need to manually change the height to 1032 or 1040, as it states that it needs to be the width divisible by 8.

Again, I don't use StaxRip enough to answer that...but from what I can tell, it will show that same sort of error if its not.

But it looks like the video you've loaded isn't divisible by 8, and thats the problem.

Well, as my sig suggests, I use RipBot, and that just gained a nice edit feature.

Don't use StaxRip enough to know how to do that editing, I'll have to have a look.

But maybe there is something wrong with the trim function and that's why the audio is out of sync after you've done a cut.

But I think you'll find there is some way of getting VideoRedo to auto shutdown..

Having some problems with staxrip not being able to cut the audio when using the cutting filter in v2.16.0.

In Staxrip > Option > Timestamps. untick extract timestamps from MKV files.

You don't need to re encode your files just load them in to MKVtoolnix and set the correct frame rate and start multiplexing. the new file should have a constant frame rate.

I don't understand why it is not disabled by default. I said it a long ago, it causes a lot of problems. The majority of cases is constant framerate. It should be disabled.

In some very rare specialized advanced cases, the user should go and enable it. Which I have never encountered.

looks like it could be fixed in v2.18. Timestamps will only be extracted if the source is VFR is now enabled by default.

Is there a way to have staxrip author implement the upscale feature or function in staxrip? I heard people keep saying about AI upscale besides training the models, pretty much they are also somewhat based on scripts and I think most of the scripts created by doom9 users or authors could do pretty much the same thing but just without training.

BTW, it seems we miss the old day when Didee was still around and he is one of the greatest video script creators ever. Just wonder if he will ever create scripts again for video enhancement. Here gotta say thanks to stax76 and whoever gets involved in this project. This is a great app.

I just used 2.19. I noticed a huge performance improvement with Neo_FFT3D.

I don't know where it comes but it is almost the same speed as without it.

- Without it
27.35 fps

- Neo_FFT3D(bt=3, y=3, u=2, v=2, sigma=2)
24.88 fps

I don't remember exactly but I think in the past it was around 5 fps.

Well, I prefer RipBot264....

As for DV rpu's, you have spent a fair bit of time on the DDVT thread, it's a pretty easy process to do after your encoding,
but it might be a little complicated to do within another app (I could be wrong).

And I think -QfG- is only going to make it easier to do...

Not extract, but inject/encode.
For extraction I use the neat, yet quite unknown: HDR-Multi-Tool-GUI from github.
The insert location in Staxrip depends on the selected encoding method. With NVENC(H265) it's in the VUI Options
