Disturbance
3rd June 2016, 04:48
Hello, I love your work on StaxRip it is my go to encoder as it just does just about everything. Just a quick question, I have tried searching this thread to see if it had been posted before and could find nothing. I am just seeing if there will possibly be any functionality in helping to facilitate Ordered Chapters at all, somewhat like how V.A.F.E. does it (below) mainly "Generate OC Template from Trims"

http://forum.doom9.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=15421&stc=1&d=1464925209

either via chapters or manually being able to set a time/frame, as the only way I have found to do it via staxrip is to add a
"--qpfile "Filepath\frames.txt" to the options to select which frames to make I frames so that it helps cutting without missing where I want cut. Thanks for your time

@luigizaninoni

I finally found it, you were right that the language caused it. It was added with the 'Demux Audio' option (All, None, Preferred, Show Dialog)

@Disturbance

You can make a feature request on the github issue tracker. I don't really have any experience with chapters, a request that is easy to comprehend with great details has a higher chance to be accepted.

Hi stax, is it possible to get this LOTR: Fellowship of the Ring colour correction script (http://www.howtogeek.com/238725/how-to-fix-the-green-tint-in-the-lord-of-the-rings-fellowship-of-the-ring-extended-edition-blu-ray/) working through staxrip? I've tried to pipe it in a few ways but no joy.

Thanks.

At least one of the used plugins isn't available as x64, because StaxRip and all video processing tools StaxRip uses are x64, x86 DLLs can not be loaded and used, I'm sorry.

This should allow to insert an avisynth32 plugin inside an avs+64 script. It's rather complex, though:

A new stable release (1.3.6.0) is available:

https://github.com/stax76/StaxRip/releases

New Features

added setting to prevent the StaxRip window to become the active foreground window if certain applications are currently in the foreground
added new option to disable audio and subtitle demuxing
added subtitle formats column to MediaInfo Folder View
added all missing x265 switches
added hardware decoding methods to x265 'Other' tab, this will bypass AviSynth though
added new standalone mkvextract GUI (Apps > Demux)
added new QSVEncC switches for hard coded subtitles
added MP4 support to standalone demux app
added -avsinfo starting AVSMeter without a source opened
added support for unicode filenames using VapourSynth, AviSynth don't support it
added mkv cutting support without encoding
added MSharpen x64 filter for AviSynth+ x64
added x264 10-Bit support, binary is not included, StaxRip will ask for the location
added ffmpeg codecs x264, x265 and ProRes
added codec help menu to ffmpeg options dialog which shows help for the currently selected codec, it displayes the output queried with 'ffmpeg -h encoder=name'
added option to define preferred audio languages
added audio and subtitle demuxing modes 'Show Dialog', 'Preferred', 'All', 'None'
added x265 changes for v1.9 183
added new option to automatically add hard coded subtitle
added option to define JPEG compression quality in 'Preview > Save JPG' and thumbnail generator

Fixed Bugs

custom switches were missing in the Intel Quick Sync encoding GUI for QSVEncC
fixed crash with ass file by replacing VSFilter with VSFilterMod

Tweaks

the batch audio profile uses now always batch execution, the PATH variable knows the location of ffmpeg, eac3to and BeSweet, the temp files directory is set as current directory, if input files is empty all files are excepted
the search feature of the apps dialog searches now also the supported filters of plugins
enabled audio demuxing using MP4Box for mov files
removed mkvinfo.exe which is 18 MB large and not really needed. It's large due to QT toolkit being used
mkv audio demuxing happens now all streams together instead of every stream separate, it's much faster now.
changed filter profiles editor to support both tab and 4 spaces for multiline profiles, tabs are converted to 4 spaces which is the standard in Python and Visual Studio
log file improvements
filters list view did not accept drag and drop with source files
enabled posibility to remux mov to mp4
the apps dialog writes the customized versions now to the settings folder so it don't matter if the startup folder has no write access
demuxed subtitles are now detected by ID with proper numeric order
improved Dolby Atmos handling
added check if enough disk space is available before a job runs
replaced drop down menus in Event Commands editor with menu based drop downs

Guys,

I have video 1440x1080. How can I put correct PAR and DAR to encode it without resizing to 1080p (1920x1080).

I can't make ti to work without resizing, it gives me always resolution 1400x1080. I am going crazy, I can't get it to work properly.

when I encode it it does not make 1920x1080p video but still 1440x1080:

Video
ID : 1
Format : hvc1
Codec ID : hvc1
Duration : 34mn 6s
Bit rate mode : Variable
Bit rate : 3 020 Kbps
Maximum bit rate : 9 482 Kbps
Width : 1 440 pixels
Height : 1 080 pixels
Display aspect ratio : 4:3
Frame rate mode : Constant
Frame rate : 25.000 fps

I guess I must change something in PAR and DAR but I don't know which value to get proper 16/9 1920x1080 video

I'm getting a trojan warning on qaac64 & refalac64. I hope its just a false positive

It's unlikely that it contains malware, if you are worried you can contact qaac support.

@marax

open your source, post screenshots of the main dialog and the video encoder options dialog and as usual post the full log file after you encoded.

If you don't change any aspect ratio related value which you shouldn't unless you know exactly what you are doing which most users don't then you should see:

main dialog > source group > source PAR > 4:3

main dialog > resize group > target PAR > 4:3

video encoder options dialog > command line preview > PAR 4:3 is signaled

I am getting "No enough free space" when I want to start encode. And I have 60G free space on the destination drive.

Next build will fix it:

fixed the check for enough free space on the disk of the target file, instead of three times the source file one time is now enough

If I add the files manually they work fine. Also I retried 1.3.2.0 in a separate location (the 1828 Avisynth), worked fine. Tried the 1.3.6.0 in a new location, again fail (Avisynth 1858). I was using the build from 29 May? (not the 03 June build), and that had been working fine.

Also if I click "Demux and Index before creating jobs" it also works. It's just incovenient if you are batch encoding numerous jobs and you have to wait for it.

The new Intel's MediaSDK v1.19 is out and the release notes contain some interesting information:

QSV-FF (FixedFunction-LowPower mode) limitations:

o Only I and P frame types supported, so no API related to B frames encoding support.
o CQP, CBR, VBR and QVBR rate control methods only.
o Supported QP values range: 10-51
o Only progressive encoding supported.

HW Accelerated HEVC Encode supports only CQP, CBR, VBR and ICQ rate control methods and supports maximum resolution 3840x2172 and Intel improved CPU utilization for synchronous pipeline and fixed delays in asynchronous pipeline.

HW Accelerated HEVC Encode supports MAIN10 profile only starting 7th generation Intel Core platforms (Kabylake)

VPP
Added mirroring filter support for horizontal flip.

I believe all of the above new features will be supported by QSVEncC in near future.

I'm trying to add this in Vapursynth mode (i have downloaded it from https://github.com/HomeOfVapourSynthEvolution/VapourSynth-Yadifmod/releases)

yadifmod = yadifmod.Yadifmod(clip, edeint=nnedi3.nnedi3(clip), mode=1)

and also

yadifmod = clip = yadifmod.Yadifmod(clip, edeint=nnedi3.nnedi3(clip), mode=1)

but it's not working,

can anyone help me add this to the profile.

i want yadifmod + nnedi3 in 50fps mode.

the error is "yadifmod is not defined".

appreciate any help on this.

1) Could you add a VP9 FFMPEG encoder build with 10bit support ?

2) Is it possible to add bit depth support information in your "MediaInfo Folder View" ?

@stax76 , changing the name of the output file does some weird stuff. It causes about 0.5-1s delay for each typed character, and a new file is generated for everything I write. Didn't behave this way in the previous release.

Below, you can see what happened when I changed the name from "Test Encode H26b0" to "Test Encode H26bnotune22-12plac"

The new QSVEncC v2.51 has partial support of API v1.19 using latest v4454 driver for Skylake, including offset value of QP

Added an option to specify the quality of resizing by vpp ·. --vpp-scaling <string> simple, slightly faster when you select simple.

Added an optional mirror image reversal by vpp ·. Mirror---Vpp <String> H, V "V" if the vertical direction, "h" If the transverse direction.

Added --qp-offset to specify the offset value of QP for each hierarchy of the pyramid reference.

Im getting this error

(25,1): error CS0656: Missing compiler required member 'Microsoft.CSharp.RuntimeBinder.CSharpArgumentInfo.Create'

when trying to configure staxrip for HDR encoding... I go to source, select vapoursynth then when I go to tools > scripts and select https://i.imgur.com/xirxezU.png im getting that error... Any ideas how to fix it? thanks

What Windows version, .NET version and CPU do you use?

@Pulp Catalyst

The usage is described here:

https://github.com/HomeOfVapourSynthEvolution/VapourSynth-Yadifmod

yadifmod.Yadifmod(clip clip, clip edeint, int order[, int field=-1, int mode=0])

Is there a way for us to use fdk-aac? Does it have to be harcoded in staxrip to be used?

audio profiles menu > edit profiles > add > command line

changing the name of the output file does some weird stuff. It causes about 0.5-1s delay for each typed character, and a new file is generated for everything I write. Didn't behave this way in the previous release.

Below, you can see what happened when I changed the name from "Test Encode H26b0" to "Test Encode H26bnotune22-12plac"

There was code added some weeks ago that is meant to prevent this behavior, it's the first time I see that it don't work in every circumstance, please see my signature.

Audio encoding using qaac 2.59 x64 failed with exit code: 2 (0x2)

The exit code might be a system error code: STATUS_WAIT_2

The exit code might be a system error code: Sistem belirtilen dosyayı bulamıyor.

What do the non English parts mean?

Why isn't it available on Intel's website?

But only for Xeon.

I edited a previous post that was writing completely different things with a new one.

So, in case you missed it, is there any feedback on this ?

Frank,

1) Could you add a VP9 FFMPEG encoder build with 10bit support ?

2) Is it possible to add bit depth support information in your "MediaInfo Folder View" ?

Thanks

The log is here:
http://pastebin.com/7ALVQsRN

But I doubt it has any relevant information.

However, I noticed it doesn't happen until I do anything that calls video processing.

For example -> creating new project, nothing. Modifying cutting/etc filters -> no problem.

BUT

Compressibility check (regardless of whether you finish or cancel it) -> once you run it, the behavior occurs
OR
After you start an encode (regardless of whether you finish or cancel it) -> if you try to change the name after you encode, this happens again.

I sometimes do encode comparisons where I have one source and then I just encode it, then change the codec option and add something to the name (like b12 to signify 12bit encode) and then just hit next to encode again and have two files to compare. This "bug" manifests exactly when you do that and so it happens on my pc 100% of the time.

The log captures the following:

Creation of "Test" encode, running a compressibility check and then renaming the output file to Testabcdefgh.mkv (from just "Test.mkv"):
