Is it possible to configure StaxRip in such a way that all encoding-related settings are kept as-is when a new source file is dropped in? That is, kept as-is instead of loading settings from default template.

It's not possible and not easy to add, sorry.

@Natty

I just removed the warning hoping that it works and don't break other use cases, it's not online yet.

@JohnLai

I've tried to reproduce it with a 1,5 GB 40 min file, 5 jobs with two instances, it was OK but indexing takes only 2 seconds because the file is small and the ssd is fast, next I will try a bigger file on a HDD.

@stax76

Thank you!!!!!! I thought you were on vacation but it's great you're able to fix this issue!!
StaxRIP is by far the best encoder app i've used, and this fix will make it perfect :)

I've tried to reproduce it with a 1,5 GB 40 min file, 5 jobs with two instances, it was OK but indexing takes only 2 seconds because the file is small and the ssd is fast, next I will try a bigger file on a HDD.

Each file size about 2-3gb, sometimes 4.5gb on 4 external hdds. (all USB3.0)
Can discount the possibility of HDDs dying.

Weird, you mentioned it indexing only takes 2 seconds, but in my case the indexing doesn't even start for second instance and newly third instance. This is very weird indeed. Hmmm....

When first instance started, it is indexing just fine and it takes around 1-3 minutes to complete the indexing.

Ah, forgot to mention the build. It is 1.6.0.0 stable build with only nvencc being manually replaced by latest version.

A new build that addresses recent issues:

https://github.com/stax76/staxrip/blob/master/md/changelog.md

@JohnLai

I've tried it also with a full movie on a external USB3 HDD, ffmsindex of job 1 and job 2 was processing in parallel with 2 staxrip instances without problems. Where all jobs created with File Batch? In that case every job has a separate source file and there should be no conflict running ffmsindex in parallel.

Since there are more processing related bug reports I cannot reproduce I will do more testing with full Blu-rays instead of the small sample files I usually use for testing.

Hmm...I decided to delete all staxrip settings and start from zero + clean staxrip profile.

Everything seem to work now.

Probably some old settings from previous staxrip 1.5.x.x version somehow interferes with 1.6.0.0.

Sorry for the trouble.:thanks:

Is EEDI2 included in staxrip? If not, where did you download it? Also, post your script.

You can show some diagnostic with:

Tools > Advanced > Command Prompt:

AVSMeter64 -avsinfo

It's not.

I downloaded it from http://avisynth.nl/index.php/AviSynth%2B
And my profile/script is....

[Antialiasing]

AviSource = ("%source_file%")
EEDI2 = (mthresh=10, lthresh=20, vthresh=20, estr=2, dstr=4, maxd=24, field=-1, map=0, nt=50, pp=1)

in the filter profile editor you can use:

[Antialiasing]

EEDI2 =
LoadCplugin("D:\Temp\EEDI2_092_64\EEDI2_092_64\EEDI2.dll")
EEDI2(mthresh=10, lthresh=20, vthresh=20, estr=2, dstr=4, maxd=24, field=-1, map=0, nt=50, pp=1)

auto load works too, auto load folder is at: Main Menu > Tools > Folders > Plugins

Groucho2004
8th August 2017, 16:07
EEDI2 = LoadCplugin("%application:EEDI2%")
EEDI2 is not a C-plugin. Load it with "LoadPlugin()" or put it in the auto-load directory.

Cyberavater

EEDI2 = EEDI2(mthresh=10, lthresh=20, vthresh=20, estr=2, dstr=4, maxd=24, field=-1, map=0, nt=50, pp=1)

But its still showing

The entire script is shown in the menu with 'Preview Code'.

burfadel
8th August 2017, 18:15
One thing that has changed many builds back that I forgot to mention :). If you have a script with long lines that exceed the width of the input error, as soon as you insert or remove any character on the portion of the code that's past the text box edge, it jumps back to the beginning of the line. This makes it 'impossible' to edit. Previous behaviour was the window would resize, albeit do it slowly. Also if you have many lines in the script it doesn't really fit on the screen either.

If you remove this line (I really don't know what that's for):
AviSource = ("C:\Users\Azmain\Desktop\New folder (9)\1.Toradora! NCOP 1.mkv")

and change the last line to:
EEDI2(mthresh=10, lthresh=20, vthresh=20, estr=2, dstr=4, maxd=24, field=-1, map=0, nt=50, pp=1)

it will probably work.

Is jpsdr's all-in-one plugin a consideration? It combines NNEDI3, Resize MT, and AutoYUY2 into one package. When using more than one of these functions it reduces the number of threads etc required. It's just under 200 KB larger for the DLL.

If included, the resize functions in Staxrip could be supplemented with these MT versions, with prefetch command set for these functions (and for NNEDI3 as well). The prefetch equates to the prefetch in the script, so at the moment this would be prefetch=4.

https://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=174248

Also Mediainfo included is 0.7.96, 0.7.98 is the latest.

You can add any additional filter or script to the avisynth plugins directory, and they will automatically be loaded. The plugins can be used by adding the command in the script editor window as per the plugin's literature, and if you want to add more boxes just add any 'misc' filter and adjust accordingly.

I hope it helps to find the issue.

@Cyberavater

I usually don't add a lot profiles and templates.

is it possible to use hqdering / hqdering mod with staxrip frank?

I'll add any plugin on request if the file size isn't too high, in this case there is no x64 version available.

@Patman

I've also a report via mail about it, I'll examine it once the upcoming fdkaac feature is finished, probably tomorrow.

Problem is always solved when you restart the PC. Then Staxrip works. Maybe something with windows, .Net Framework or Visual C++???

@Patman

I don't know yet what could be the reason.

@Natty

There is a avisynth plugin using named pipes for inter process communication, I forgot the name. You can also make a request on the tracker for a 32-bit build, it's true I don't like the idea but it's also true I've always listened to feedback.
