I use TSMUXER on 3 & 4 TB drives all the time. I don't think that's the problem. I have seen random issues in the past, however, that are related to the use of USB drives vs. SATA connected drives. If I recall correctly, it was driver specific. Are both of the drives connected via the same technology in your report?

See this post (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1676955#post1676955) and others related to it.

I deleted the MBR partition on my Seagate 5TB EXTERNAL drive and created a GPT partition, but tsMuxer still fails to write to it saying "The parameter is incorrect." What a shame.

For years, I have tried to get a E-AC3 file encoded with 7.1 audio into a .MKV container. I have never been able to make it happen. It's been a couple years now since I have given up, but I was going to revisit the idea.

I have access to a professional tool that will take 8 independent .WAV files and create a DD+ E-AC3 7.1 file. I've tried with MakeMKV and MKVToolnix and various tools, and even had the author of these tools tell me "Sorry there's no support for that."

I would actually get the audio stream into the .MKV file, but not without warnings about "ignoring garbage data" which I believe was the extended information for channels above the core stream. When I played this file back, it would become corrupted and just play noise when it came to that part of the audio.

I remember trying this with TXMuxer as well, and it would identify E-AC3 at the time, but wouldn't recognize it as a valid file, once the extra channels were present.

I just wonder if any progress has been made with this. I generally store mkv's will the full True HD or DTS-HS audio whenever I have more than 5.1 channels, but it would be nice not to have to do that anymore.

Thanks in advance to any advice. I have other posts related to this from years ago on this forum that go into more detail, but never a resolution.

Both TrueHD and DTS-HD provide lossless audio already encoded in configurations like 5.1 or 7.1 depending on the source so I'm not sure why you're even bothering with an older technology that's lossy. Why would you want to re-encode a 5.1 to 7.1? If you have an AVR that has 7.1, just let it do the processing and it will properly "fill in" to 7.1 from any source.

Hi,

I remuxed a 3D BluRay using TSMuxer GUI (last release) and have a problem playing back the BluRay on my Oppa 93 standalone player.

I used TSmuxer and created a an 3D ISO (movie only) of that movie exchanging one soundtrack.
I also created a a second 3D BluRay (same movie but with menu and extras) remuxing the BluRay to Folder in TS Muxer GUI and then creation a new 3D iso with DVD Fab which I also burnt to BD.

The 2 BluRays run normally in my PC using TMT 6. However when I üplay in my standalone (Oppo BD 93) I get macroblocking like artefacts.
All my other BluRay (2d and 3d) work normally

Any ideas? Thanks.

It is a DVDFab bug, this is the reason why its useless for 3D reencoding.

Hi,

the problem persists when I just use TSMuxer GUI 2612.

That is I am remuxing a 3D BluRay to Iso format in TSMuxer GUI (exchanging an audio track Dolby TrueHD for DD).

The iso (and the burned BluRay) work in my PC but not on my Oppo 93 standalone.

My Oppo standalone shows a sort of macroblocking like error.
The original 3D BluRay works fine i the standalone though.

DVD fab was not used doing this. So the error must be somewhere else.

Should I use an earlier version of TSMuxer instead?
If so which one?

Thanks.

Hello,

I did some further testing on this. Both BluRays play perfectly in my PC and PS4 but on my Oppo 93 standalone I get artefacts ike in post #184.

So it seems to be an issue of the player and the burnt blurays.
I was using Verbatim BD-Rs (single and dual layer) burning at 4x speed with image burn.

Any ideas? Should I try to burn with 1x or 2x speed?

OK,

I remuxed the BluRay again and burnt it.
Now everything works nicely in the standalone.

However I couldn't get the Pop-up menu to work with the re-authored 3D BluRay. I had to copy the mpls-file generated by ts muxer in the original bd structure to make the 3D BluRay work.
When doing 2d BluRays though I can edit the original mpls woth BD Edit and the BluRay (including pop up menu) works.

What do I have to change exacly in the original mpls for 3D BluRays to make the pop-up menu work?

Thanks.

Hi everyone,

I create my own 'TsMuxer' but I can only mux and demux.
Someone have some informations about bitstream syntax for clpi, bdmv...

I would like to implement Blu-ray structure in it. It's for my development training.

Thanks for your help.

There is nothing to fix in tsmuxer because it is not a bug.

Once you mux TrueHD in a MKV container the core is separated from the lossless. If you want to mux TrueHD in tsmuxer or any Blu-ray authoring package use the original disc or another container like m2ts and avoid MKV.

its no longer available, a different company bought the software, under new name too,
http://www.siriuspixels.com/Sirius-Pixels-HDe-MVC.php
not sure what's going on with it now.

hmm, no wonder last time I saw screenshot Sirius-Pixels-HDe-MVC it looked similar to Cinema Craft. My first thought they developed their own product. Thank to you now I know what happened :p

Thought I’d just chime in here because I had the Cinema Craft HDe MVC encoder at our studio until we traded it in and upgraded to the new Sirius Pixels HDe MVC encoder. The guys at Sirius Pixels were really helpful and gave us great support and training during the transition. I learned that management at Cinema Craft (CTC, Inc.) decided to get out of the business a couple years ago, but the same development, marketing, and support team that made the Cinema Craft products so successful are now at Sirius Pixels. The Sirius Pixels HDe MVC encoder was completely redeveloped from the ground up with 100% new source code and advanced features. Sirius Pixels utilizes the Sandy Bridge technology which on our dual E5-2695 workstation uses all 48 threads to encode both the base and dependent streams at the same time, and is faster than realtime. They’ve also added support for Apple ProRes. Having worked on both CCHDe MVC and now the Sirius Pixels HDe MVC encoders, the picture quality with the Sirius Pixels encoder is amazingly better. BTW, the Sirius Pixels team is developing a UHD Blu-ray encoder due out later this year. :)

For a few years I've been looking into blu-ray java development in my sparetime.

This lead to an idea of creating a huge personal video-album for myself and my family, with a searchable system.

Using tsMuxer to convert the videos into blu-ray m2ts files, and a java application to select people, places, dates, event-types etc etc to create a playlist.

This means I'll need to use the m2tsoffset option for tsMuxer a lot, in order to create single videos when I have time - and so far so good.

But back in March I discovered a limitation for the m2tsoffset option. It complains that an offset of only 11111 is too large. This will probably become a problem for me in time.

Back in March I wrote a mail to tsmuxer at gmail and asked about this, but I never received a reply. So I'm asking here now.
Does anyone know if there's a chance this limitation can be removed? Theoretically I'd want to use an offset of 99999. Although I doubt I'll never reach that many videos, I don't see any reason for the current limitation.

Does any one know if there's a special reason for the limitation?

Thanks!

I don't know, but I can confirm a erratic behaviour of tsMuxeR with big delay/timeshift/offset. I make some test and I found 3 cases using a big delay of 999999ms (max in Delay capture box):

1) Sometimes work fine.
After the mux without errors (always the mux finish without errors/warnings) the output was recognized by tsMuxeR and eac3to with the delay 999999ms.

2) Sometimes the mux loaded in tsMuxeR show the error:
"Some tracks not recognized. This tracks was ignored...", but eac3to recognize the tracks with the delay 999999ms

3) Sometimes the track delayed seems ignored in mux.
Both, tsMuxeR and eac3to, load the mux without errors but without the track delayed.

Like tsMuxeR developer seems stop the free job, I can only suggest a workaround delaying before the track with eac3to.

I'm not sure whether you misunderstood my post or whether you're posting about another issue.

m2tsoffset isn't about delay. It's about what filename or number the files in the STREAM folder and PLAYLIST folder and CLIPINF folder has.
E.g. setting m2tsoffset to 00005 will create
CLIPINF/00005.clpi
PLAYLIST/00005.mpls
STREAM/00005.m2ts

Ideally I'd like to be able to create files with filename up to 99999, but it seems there's a limitation in tsMuxer in this regard that only lets me go up to somewhere below 11111.
Seeing as there ARE 5 digits to be used, I don't understand this limitation.

Maybe there is something in the format specification I don't know?

I have no idea about number of files limitation.

Yes, there is a limitation:
Maximum number of files in the BDMV directory, except the files in the BACKUP directory:
xxxxx.mpls - 2000 (the “xxxxx” shall be the 5-digit number “00000” to “01999”)
zzzzz.clpi - 4000
zzzzz.m2ts, zzzzz.ssif - The sum of the number of zzzzz.m2ts files plus the number of zzzzz.ssif files is at most 4000

mr_lou

Thanks for replying tymoxa.

A bit disappointing. The 5 digits sure made it look like there was room for a lot more than 2000 files. :(

@tymoxa

Where did you get that quote from?

Looking at the BD-J specification PDF from Blu-ray Disc Association, page 15, the illustration seems to indicate that it's possible to have playlists, clipinfo and streams called 03000.

Yes, there is a limitation:I believe that only applies (per Annex B, B.3) to playlist files (.MPLS), not CLPI and/or M2TS. As near as I can tell, those are only limited by "shall be a 5-digit number". There's a limit of 4000 clpi/m2ts/ssif files -- but no naming constraint that I see.

There are many, many commercial discs out there that use names much larger than 4000... example: To Kill A Mockingbird - 50201.M2TS/CLPI.

I use tsMuxer to rip the movie to a folder not to an iso file.
Mainly because I want to modify it so it stops at the end of the play and doesn't repeat.
BTW, why is that feature still in there?

Anyway, the ripped folder doesn't have the SSIF file naturally because it is a virtual file.

Is the SSIF file really necessary for 3D playback?

Earlier in this thread, page 4, someone mentioned that if you make a mini iso from the folder using DVDFab virtual drive,
it adds the SSIF file when you mount the mini iso.
Then you can use ImgBurn to make a full iso from that mounted mini iso.

I tried this and created the full iso which has SSIF file.

But there is a problem with it.
BDedit won't open it giving the errors:
ERROR: Format error MovieObject.bdmv
ERROR: index.bdmv format error at $00000008

BDInfo won't open it either complaining about problems with clip info files.

Has anyone else encountered problem when using DVDFab mini iso?

Hi
Trying remux 3D Blu-ray with TSMUXER cutting out other audio tracks and languages not needed to play on my DUNEHD. Is there a guide to do this? I've tried searching but can't seem to find any. I have been able to create bluray iso, then mount on my hdd. Then load into tsmuxer, but when I convert to iso my dune player only plays 2D. I've even tried choosing the ssif file with same results, so if there is a simple guide would somebody be so kind as to post it?
Much thanks

Hello,

I am loving tsMuxer so far! I use it to remux my 3D ISO's with just the main movie, best english audio and english subtitles.

However, is there a way to do batch jobs? Like setup few movies, and output the ISO's to different folders then it does it one by one?

Thank You

I'm trying to tsmuxer with no luck. my intention is to open a playlist in the GUI, and mux all the files into a single file. or just demux. I get off to a good start, then crash. I have a decrypted blu-ray structure on my hd.

This isn't a single isolated event. I've never gotten a successful run after many attempts with many disks. is there some kind of known software conflict or what?

Win 7 pro 64-bit.
Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit.
tsMuxeR 2.6.12 and every other version I've ever tried.

On last attempt, tsmuxer crashed at 9.4 % complete.

I have a custom Blu-ray I am trying to create. I have edited the footage in Premiere Pro and exported it to H.264. I want chapters at the following times:

00:00:00:00
00:04:05:11
00:11:02:15
00:14:48:07
00:20:20:03
00:26:07:16
00:32:30:20
00:42:48:04
00:48:22:14
00:52:31:18
00:56:52:08
01:03:13:16
01:11:38:02
01:18:49:12
01:22:36:11
01:26:29:14
01:31:59:21
01:36:47:23
01:43:17:17
01:48:58:15
01:55:52:10

I tried to convert these to the fraction code tsMuxeR wants by dividing 1 by 23.976 (0.042) and multiplying that by the number of frames. I ended up with:

00:00:00.000
00:04:05.459
00:11:02.626
00:14:48.292
00:20:20.125
00:26:07.667
00:32:30.834
00:42:48.167
00:48:22.584
00:52:31:751
00:56:52.334
01:03:13.667
01:11:38.083
01:18:49.501
01:22:36.459
01:26:29.584
01:31:59.876
01:36:47.959
01:43:17.709
01:48:58.626
01:55:52.417

These chapter stops do not match the points in Premiere I based them on. They seem to be just ahead of where I want them and it seems to drift further and further ahead of where I want them as the duration continues. Thinking I had my math wrong, I found an online converter (http://www.anteater.de/tsmuxer/) and tried that. That tool gave me:

00:00:00.000
00:04:05.462
00:11:02.630
00:14:48.294
00:20:20.126
00:26:07.672
00:32:30.840
00:42:48.168
00:48:22.588
00:52:31.756
00:56:52.336
01:03:13.672
01:11:38.084
01:18:49.504
01:22:36.462
01:26:29.588
01:31:59.882
01:36:47.966
01:43:17.714
01:48:58.630
01:55:52.420

Although the times are slightly different than my calculations they were still wrong and drift earlier and earlier as the video progresses.

This is driving me nuts! If someone could point out what I am doing wrong, it would be greatly appreciated.

Quick question: I see when getting ready to demux a TS file it shows a significant timeshift for my audio tracks. When demuxing will tsmuxer adjust the output files accordingly or do I have to jot down those delays and do so myself manually?

I guess I figured it out. It doesn't make any sense but if I multiply the number of frames in Premiere for the chapter stop I want by 0.04171002710027, I get the correct time code. I built a crude spreadsheet to help convert multiple chapters from Premiere frame count to TSmuxeR time code format. I wish I understood what was going on here but at least I have a hack to work-around the problem.

I have an issue with tsMuxeR 2.6.11.

I have the Lord of the Rings Extended Edition which comes on two Blu-rays for each movie. I already found some threads about how to properly (??) cut and merge these into one m2ts/raw stream.

Because I want a perfect merge I compared the Standard Edition (SE) with the first part of the Extended Edition (EE) (AviSynth StackVertical). That worked perfectly and I saw that I have to cut the first part at frame 151968 aka. timecode 1:45:38.332.
I entered that timecode into tsMuxeR Split & Cut setting into "End" and "remuxed" to a "Blu-ray folder". I selected the H.264 stream, both DTS-HD streams and both main PGS streams.

The problem is that when I load the part1 Blu-ray folder and join the part2 Blu-ray folder in tsMuxeR and actually Demux into elementary streams tsMuxeR duplicates the the very last video frame (haven't checked audio/subtitles yet) of part1 (frame 151969 is a copy of 151968). So instead of a H264 raw stream with 328249 frames I get a raw stream with 328250 frames.

Why does this happen and how can I prevent this?

So instead of a H264 raw stream with 328249 frames I get a raw stream with 328250 frames.

Why does this happen and how can I prevent this?

Did you check the stream to find which frame is the IDR or I frame? If that specified cut frame is a B frame tsmuxer won't be able to make that exact cut.

I just did but experienced the same issue. I knew there was a newer version but didn't found it here so I thought it's a hostile fork or fake. Why is the developer of this tool so shy compared to other developers? :)

Just to clarify what I did:

1) Ripped the whole discs (SE, EE part1 and EE part2) onto HDD using AnyDVD HD
2) Demuxed the main H.264 stream of each of the three discs onto HDD using tsMuxeR
3) Indexed all three H.264 streams using DGIndexNV
4) Loaded the SE H.264 stream as well as the EE part1 H.264 stream into AviSynth (StackVertical) and frame-accurately aligned the last scene of the EE part1 with the corresponding scene of the SE.
5) Noted where to trim/cut (frames / timecode).
6) Loaded the SE H.264 stream as well as the EE part2 H.264 stream into AviSynth (StackVertical) and frame-accurately aligned the first scene of the EE part2 with the corresponding scene of the SE.
7) Noted where to trim/cut (frames / timecode).
8) Loaded the main M2TS file of EE part1 into tsMuxeR, chose "Blu-ray folder" and a distinct folder, checked "Enable Cutting" and entered the part1 timecode into "End", then clicked "Start muxing"
9) Closed tsMuxeR
10) Loaded the main M2TS file of EE part2 into tsMuxeR, chose "Blu-ray folder" and a distinct folder, checked "Enable Cutting" and entered the part2 timecode into "Start", then clicked "Start muxing"
11) Closed tsMuxeR

To verify the cuts were done correctly I demuxed (tsMuxeR) the main H.264 streams from the cutted Blu-ray folders, indexed them (DGIndexNV) and loaded and spliced them together and frame-accurately aligend them with the SE in AviSynth. The cuts were done perfectly.

But as soon as I join both parts (regardless if I use the raw demuxed H.264 streams or the M2TS or the playlists) in tsMuxeR or mkvtoolnix both tools duplicate the very last frame of part1.

Is this another "you can only cut at I-Frames" issue?

Looks like I have to use AviSynth to accurately cut audio & video?!

Does AviSynth support cutting PGS subtitles together with cutting audio & video? Or what tool should I use for PGS cutting?

EDIT: IBPBPBPBPBPBPBPI (the last P frame is were I have to cut (=frame 151968). The I frame is actually not part of the movie (well, it shouldn't))

How do I prevent tsMuxeR from splitting WAV files at 4 GB when Demuxing? I know it does this because of the FAT32 limitation but a) I'm on NTFS and b) tsMuxeR doesn't split every other file (eg. raw video streams).

I highly doubt that. It's most likely because of the 32 Bit chunk size limit of the standard WAVE header.
What are you trying to de-multiplex? Have you tried eac3to?

When I select that track I get a new tab called "Demux Options" next to "General Track Options" but everything is grayed out there and "Demux to multi channels WAVE file" is selected by default. And with my luck eac3to can't join WAV files yet :)

I totally forgot that eac3to can handle Blu-rays too. I was afraid it doesn't support mpls files because in this case the media is stored in two m2ts files but luckily it does support it. I'm currently rippping and everything looks fine. It's just slow as f**k :)

Thanks for pointing me to that eac3to feature!

That is roughly (25/24)-1. Did you have anything set to 25 fps?

That is an interesting observation. No, I don't think so. Premier is set to 23.976 which is the format of the underlying video. Unless TsMuxeR has some strange default of 25fps for chapter code, I'm not sure what is going on. I'll keep playing with it to see if I can get to the bottom of it.

Help me understand this setting:

Insert SEI and VUI data if absent

insertSEI

I have always included this when I would mux streams back together. Today I found that the movie Man on Fire - US release would not mux without corruption if this setting was present. When I removed insertSEI everything was fine.

Is there a reason I should always be using this setting or can it safely be omitted?

So got a bit of an annoying issue here. I have an Elgato HD capture card and one nice thing I like about it is through the software I can have it record the HDMI input, a USB webcam, and separate audio tracks from an external mic and the HDMI source and it will nicely record these to a TS file all synced up in separate tracks.

Up until a recent update of their software I have been able to use TSMuxerGUI to demux these to the individual tracks for easier editing but after a recent update TSMuxer always fails a part way in with the message 'tsMuxer finished with error code -1073741819'. The TS file plays back in VLC just fine and everything seems intact. If I try to demux all tracks at once it fails but if I do one track at a time, it works fine.

Any thoughts? I can continue doing this one by one but it is quite frustrating when I usually have 5 tracks on 40-80GB files to work with.

Is there a developer on this thread to continue the work if we get the source code ? It's a C++ project.
