View Full Version : tsMuxeR update for 3D blu-ray

I made a 3D m2ts today and tried it on TMT5, TMT6 and Stereoscopic Player. It plays on all players fine. I can't get it to work on my projector (AE8000) using the native setting (frame packing??).
In Stereoscopic Player if I select SBS and also on PJ it works fine. Same with Top and Bottom. Can't get it to work with frame packing. Can anyone advise?
I don't know if it's the player or the PJ.
Same result with a MakeMKV 3d mkv.

The 3D Movies, which were remuxed by tsmuxer, are worked really good on PowerDVD13, TMT6 but I don't know why somebody said they were glitched on DUNE Base 3D and can't burn it to Blu-ray Disc (same situation with Dune Base 3D on real 3D Blu-ray Player). One person has said that the total bitrate of whole movie were over 55Mbps. So that it will cause that problem. Is it true?
If I was correct, please fix that problem.
Thank you.

Thank you.
Total allowed bitrate for video only is 60Mbps and for whole movie 64Mbps, however BD Assocation says base view cannot have more than 40 Mbps. However you can have spike of bitrate.
More info is needed to solve issue related to your problem.

Never-the-less the GUI keeps crashing when trying to load a video file - function (tsMuxeR) returns an unexpected value. e.g.:
*** Error in `/usr/bin/tsMuxeR': corrupted double-linked list: 0x0834c5b0 ***
This happens both on 2.3.2 and 1.10.6
The function concerned will give a warning message on compiling the linux binaries so should be easy to chase...

tsMuxeR_2.3.4(b).zip (https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0VmPcEZTp8NQmMyaGhmempXZ2M/edit?usp=sharing)
I'll upload Linux and Mac version tomorrow.
------------ Network Optix tsMuxeR 2.3.4(b) ----------------------
- Possible fixed problem in Duna player with some movies.
- PCM inside VOB was anonced before, but actually did not work. Fixed.
- UI fix: if open MPLS, then close, track list is not cleared. It is broken in previous build only.
- Subtitles renderer fixed (broken in previous build only after in/out effects)
I spent a lot of time for investigate pp.#1 with Duna player. Actually I do not have this player, but Sony BD validator reported some strange issue for movie Cars 2 just in position where Duna has problem. I fixed this issue in validator. But I did not found clearly bug in tsMuxeR. In any way I have some surmise what cause a problem. So, new build pass sony BD validator in this position, I hope Duna player will be fixed as well. Who has this player, please try disk Cars2 around position 1:12:00.

Hi, thank you physic for the latest updates to the program. I would like to ask for a feature:
Currently, the "start mux time" can be entered in h:mm:ss.mmm format. It would be great if it could be entered in 45KHz ticks format. This way I would be able to set the exact value I want.
For example, retail BDs usually have a "start mux time" of 0:00:11.6506666666 which in 45KHz ticks corresponds to 524280 (in decimal) or 00 07 FF F8 (in hex). Currently there is no way to enter such value. So if there's a possibility to enter the "start mux time" in 45KHz ticks, either in decimal or in hexadecimal, it would be perfect.
I need this option because I remux retail Blu-rays a lot (keeping original structure, but changing the main movie .m2ts file). This procedure requires some editing in the .mpls files afterwards using BDEdit application. The editing won't be necessary if I can input the exact same start mux time the original .m2ts has. I guess this is the reason why this feature as it is was introduced. I believe with the change I propose it would be perfect.

Sorry, It was too late yestarday and I mixed up everything. I mean Popcorn Hour A-400.
Validator sees that last video frame of movie (last video PTS) at 1:12:40 positing. But it is very strange because I did a lot of tests and all data correct.
H.264 track of this moovie has a lot of H.264 fillter packets (packets do not contain any data, just add some trafic). I surmise that this packets cause a issue. I introduce filtering such data from source track. After that file size slightly reduced and validator error disapeared.

Popcorn Hour A400 was used same chipset like DUNE (SMP8672). So if Dune Base 3D has problem, Popcorn Hour A400 will be the same.
Anyone can give me the link of the Sony BD Validator? I really want to use it for testing some 3D ISO, which was remuxed by tsmuxer. So I think tsmuxer v2.4.3 was not fixed it yet.

tsMuxer 2.3.4(b) does not multiplex TrueHD.
When re-multiplexing it generates:
Reading buffer overflow. Possible container streams are not syncronized. ....
Otherwise it demultiplexes the streams and when they are multiplexed back in .mkv everything is OK.

- bug fixed: tsMuxeR can't create output directory for UNC path (for instance \\.\Volume{E5FB13D8-5096-11E3-B9C4-005056C00008}\folder1\test.ts)

With both tsMuxeR and eac3to I can extract the streams from a
Blu-ray release. I can perfectly merge the streams in an .mkv file. I can make an perfectly playable .mpa file. I can make a perfectly playable .ts file with tsMuxeR.
But neither Blu-ray ISO nor a Blu-ray folder made by tsMuxeR contains playable audio.
Remuxing the source doen't work also.
So, the extracted .ac3 file isn't the reason.
Can you send me your working copy of tsMuxer or ...
Do you want to have my audio file?
O, I saw the audio was 96 kHz sampled, with ac3 EX embedded. It is 7.1 channels. Though ts muxing produces audible sound but not a good video.
I'll try re-sampling.

AFAIK tsMuxeR don't have a AC3 encoder inside, then can't convert E-AC3 to AC3.
I think tsMuxeR can only extract the "core" of some E-AC3 BD tracks. Maybe the "core" of this 640kbps 5.1 E-AC3 track is only 224kbps 2.0 AC3.
You can use eac3to (with Aften AC3 encoder) to convert E-AC3 5.1 to AC3 5.1.

Here I am saying again: tsMuxeR 2.3.4(b) can('t) make neither a Blu-ray ISO nor Blu-ray folder from a source:
Disc Title: GOD BLESS AMERICA
Disc Size: 24,245,910,317 bytes
Protection: AACS
BD-Java: No
Size: 23,913,811,968 bytes
Length: 1:44:22.214

Audio: English / Dolby TrueHD Audio / 7.1 / 96 kHz / 3677 kbps / 16-bit (AC3 Embedded: 5.1-EX / 48 kHz / 640 kbps)
Audio: English / Dolby Digital EX Audio / 5.1-EX / 48 kHz / 640 kbps

Subtitle: Chinese / 28.594 kbps
Subtitle: English / 36.115 kbps
When working in “remux” mode, that is extracting files from the source and muxing them back in an .iso, it stops with message:
tsMuxeR finished with error code -2
Errors: Reading buffer overflow. Possible container streams are not syncronized. Please, verify stream fps.
Here is another approach.
First, using tsMuxeR I've extracted the three streams I've been interested: video (.264) – 16.6 GB, audio (.ac3) – 3.14 GB, English subtitles (.sup) – 27 MB.
Second, using tsMuxeR and Scenarist I've generated .iso files.
TsMuxeR's file is with inaudible sound, Scenarist’s file is a normal Blu-ray.
I've used BDReauthor to extract from TsMuxeR's .ac3 file both Dolby Digital audio files needed for Scenarist: .mlp – 2.67 GB, .ac3 – 477 MB.
Note: BDReauthor said they were different by 1 sec.
There are not differences in disks info except for the subtitles which are different in size.
TsMuxeR's: 36.115 kbps, Scenarist’s: 37.791 kbps
off topic:
I've tried re-sampling the main trueHD audio file (thd+ac3) to 48 kHz using eac3to (-resampleTo48000) without success.

What does this dropbox mean when muxing pgs subtitles:
3d offset: plane #
Does this work as a paralax ("distance" between left and right image ~ depth) for the subtitles?
The subtitles in Blu-ray 3D are still one stream (image) but then the renderer (player) displays them for both eyes but just slightly shifted horizontally according to the plane number?

I wonder that too, as well as many other things about the 3D subtitles, and I've opened a specific thread on that subject in the Subtitles forum, here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=169817).
Since that subject seems to be extremely complex, I suggest to join that thread, to centralize all questions regarding 3D BD subs in the same place.
Currently, there is still no complete answer to your question, and I'm experiencing with some BDs to discover as much info as possible...

YES! Finally, remuxing the 3D MVC MKV with tsMuxer 2.3.2b back into a Bluray 3D.iso fixed the freeze issue. Cars 2 3D no longer freezes at the 1:05:00 - 1:06:00 mark. Now, I still need to watch the whole movie from beginning to end just to make sure and create a small sample of this remuxing process to give to someone to make sure the 3D still works.
So, using MakeMKV 1.8.6 beta from a Cars 2 3D untouched.iso took 42 minutes to mux into a MVC mkv, then I used tsMuxer 2.3.2b and remuxed it into a Bluray ISO. What an extra step! Ohh Well.
Cars_2_t41.mkv is 28.21GB (MVC in MKV) and Cars 2 2011 remuxed.iso is 29.77..
OK folks, those with a Popcorn Hour A-400 and a 3D HDTV, please download and test this Cars 2 3D clip: https://mega.co.nz/#!VVZGDQzZ!fV-MIxZ5RzZsDKjxyIttfiSTnJlPLlYaPKq1O4TI4TU

What I am reporting here is tsMuxer 2.3.4(b) does not multiplex TrueHD.
I don't have problems with DTSMA audio.
These are my attempts to remultiplex Blu-ray releases with tsMuxer 2.3.4(b)
Disc Title: GOD BLESS AMERICA
Dolby TrueHD Audio / 7.1 / 96 kHz / 3677 kbps / 16-bit (AC3 Embedded: 5.1-EX / 48 kHz / 640 kbps)
Disc Title: STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS 3DBD
Dolby TrueHD Audio 7.1 / 48 kHz / 4342 kbps / 24-bit (AC3 Embedded: 5.1 / 48 kHz / 640 kbps / DN -4dB)
Disc Title: GHOST IN THE SHELL 3DBD
Dolby TrueHD Audio 7.1 / 96 kHz / 4022 kbps / 16-bit (AC3 Embedded: 5.1-EX / 48 kHz / 640 kbps)
Neither of them was successful.
As I said in "remux" mode tsMuxeR generats error and stops.
In "mux" mode, that is the streams are already extracted (demuxed), and tsMuxeR multiplex them, no error occurs but the sound is not normal.
It is as if the playback is at higher speed.
I've just tried another remux of GHOST IN THE SHELL:
Errors: Reading buffer overflow. Progress 10.5%
Decoding TRUE-HD stream (track 3): AC3 core+TRUE-HD. Peak bitrate: 6756Kbps (core 640Kbps) Sample Rate: 96KHz (core 48Khz) Channels: 5.1
(Keep in mind I have remuxed all these three releases with Scenarist using streams already extracted (demuxed) by tsMuxeR. More over, I used tsMuxer to get a m2ts file with video, audio and subtitles in order for BDReauthor to extract subtitles and both .mlp and .ac3 files needed to produce a BD release using Scenarist.)
On another hand when I tried remuxing STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS using as a source a release I have prepared with Scenarist the processing was fine.
So, what we do?
Actually, I can overcome this problem by either re-encoding audio to DTSMA or by using Scenarist. I don't have problem with that.
I'm trying to help you making tsMuxeR perfect. I could do more than just reporting a bug.

ok, now I undarstand. Looks like TrueHD from your disks are muxed with invalid speed. "Reading buffer overflow" is consequence of this fact.
I checked 2 disks with TRUE-HD : "Monsters University 3D" and "STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS 3DBD". Still no problem.
Could you send short example (several minutes) of TRUE-HD track?
P.S. May be problem with TRUE-HD 96Khz. I have not such examples and 2 of 3 you disks have 96Khz. May be you wrong with Star Track. At least this hypothesis explains all facts.

You right. I have same problem with Paint Skin 2, which was used the trueHD 96kHz.

I've noted a problem with Epic 3D Blu-ray. No matter whether I have the --right-eye option checked or not, the playback requires me to swap left & right eye's on my media player (MED600X3D).
I re-ripped with the option checked, and unchecked, and in both cases the left & right images required swapping.
I haven't re-tested any other 3D titles, so can't confirm yet if this is just an issue with this title, or, an issue with the latest tsMuxeR version(s).

How do you mux this (M2ts, iso,...) ?
I had the same probleme with EPIC when I re-create the BD.

Sorry, I should have been specific. This is when remuxing only the english tracks to a Blu-ray ISO with 2.3.4(b).
The player (Mede8er 600X3D) successfully detects the 3D content ISO on playback, but with left & right images needing swapped (whether or not "Use base video stream for right eye" is checked).

My mistake, I noticed only today, it's still E-AC3 not AC3 as mistakenly written, yet in 2 channels only. I am not used with E-AC3 so I understand now that I have to use a convertor from E-AC3 to AC3.

Try this:
1. Create the Blu-ray folder with TsMuxeR
2. Modify the mpls with HexEditor and change 40 to 50 (see this forum for more details)
3. Create the ISO with Virtual Dive and ImgBurn
4. Test it

regarding True-HD 96khz: Now I can recall that a year ago I had difficulties with Goemon, which was 96kHz too! (it looked like different muxspeed) So the Problem must have been there in tsmuxer since 1.xx versions...
