I have searched on arcsoft.com ArcSoft DTS Decoder there are no results, maybe it has a different name ?
C:\Program Files > Common Files > Arcsoft > Mpeg Engine > DtsDec.dll
But don't ask me how to register; ask to madshi :)

let me guess, there is no sutch thing as decoder alone is there ?
Unfortunately, at the moment the whole ArcSoft TotalMedia Theater suite is necessary for DTS-HD decoding. See this (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=139946) thread. Especially post #32 by madshi.

I was going to reply same// Scenarist does mux properly. I had to use TSMuxer for extracting TrueHD+AC3 stream.
And Scenarist wants to have a combined TrueHD+AC3 file? And then it properly muxes that? I would have thought that an authoring tool like Scenarist would want to get separate TrueHD and AC3 files, no?
sehgal.v7

@Madshi
It can accept only combined TrueHD & AC3 Core file.
Secondly, can you please add any feature to combine already seperated Core & TrueHD Track by Eac3to?

Just had a clean winxp prof sp1+sp2+sp3 install and installed TotalMediaTheatre_Retail_INTRO_E.exe.
DTS decoding did only work after I copied MagCore.dll, MagPCMac.dll, MagUIEngine.dll and MagUIInter.dll from Program Files\Common Files\ArcSoft\Bin\ to eac3to\

Hi madshi. I don't know if you are talking about my post. But i just like to state that this could be a bug. I have sp3 installed and installed the intro version that I can legally try for 15 days, they have a download button on the site.
When i did eac3to -test, it did not recognized the arcsoft install. When I wanted to convert a dts file, eac3to gave errors that it couldn't find MagCore.dll, MagPCMac.dll, MagUIEngine.dll and MagUIInter.dll.
When they are in the eac3to dir, arcsoft is recognized and decoding works.
I have read in this thread that you don't have sp3 installed, that's why I posted the message. Maybe this only happens with sp3.
I also found out that the arcsoft install directory has different versions dll's (1.0.0.129) than the dll's (1.0.0.148) in Program Files\Common Files\ArcSoft\Bin\

When I download eac3to.zip from madshi's site, Kaspersky Internet Security is reporting that the file HookSurcode.dll contains a trojan backdoor, "Backdoor.Win32.Hupigon.dgde"
Are other Kaspersky users (or other malware detectors) seeing this?
If it is a false positive, any idea why or how to address this?

@kweek, I didn't mean your post. I don't mind if people discuss about how to make a full ArcSoft installation work, e.g. by extending the search path or things like that. What I don't want is people to discuss in this thread how to install the DirectShow filters, only, because that could promote illegal use of the ArcSoft software. And I don't want eac3to to have anything to do with that. There's only one way to make sure that eac3to can stay alive - and that is to get far away from any illegal activities.

I am not in any way discussing how to get around installing the full ArcSoft package. I have installed the full ArcSoft Total Media Theater Package and I would like the DTS Decoder that is part of that package to work with eac3to under vista x64.
For whatever reason, eac3to does not seem recognize my arcsoft installation. I was only asking what I could do to tweak it to get it to work with eac3to.
Thus, this discussion is completely legal and relevant here.

If we're talking about the same thing, as in a mpls (playlist) file, then yes. Dewey Cox had probably 30 or more pieces, Alien vs Predator 2, had tons of them. About any time you see a movie that has the theatrical version and an unrated version, it will be chopped into all kinds of pieces.

For the HD DVD example I gave, if you output track #1, it gives you the joined EVO. There is no option to do the same with the 1st example - the Blu-ray. Maybe you missed it without the bold.

eac3to handles BluRay SEAMLESS BRANCHING perfectly by joining the branched files via the corresponding playlist(MPLS). Branching is handled differently between HD-DVD and BluRay but does the same thing. This is common knowledge and has been for quite some time :)

No one seems to get it.
Going with my example for the HD DVD, typing
eac3to sourcefolder 1) 1: output.evo
would produce a joined evo file.
Then with the Blu-ray example, typing
eac3to sourcefolder 1) 1: output.m2ts
will extract the chapters to a file named output.m2ts, not a joined m2ts file, because the option is missing.
In this particular case, I don't care about being able to demux any of the streams. I want the whole joined m2ts by way of typing whats in the 2nd quotes.
Really not that hard to understand.

I get it now, my stumbling block, was that I didn't realize that HD-DVD's would combine the two pieces into one muxed file. I've always demuxed the streams I wanted and muxed them back together. It will do what you want, but it requires demuxing everything and then muxing it back.

No. The problem with m2ts multi part movies is that audio often overlaps a little. In order to fix that problem completely I would probably have to write a full featured m2ts muxer. That is not planned. With HD DVD movies it's easier because the audio doesn't overlap. So I just need to join the files and maybe correct a few timestamps. Easy. Not so with Blu-Ray.
You have 2 options:
(1) Either you can let tsMuxeR or TsRemux do the m2ts multipart joining. Neither of them will correct the audio overlaps, though. So the end result may play bumpy on the join points or eventually audio sync will gradually be lost (depends on the media player / splitter).
(2) Or you can let eac3to demux all video and audio tracks. Audio overlaps can then be fixed. Finally you can recreate a new m2ts file by using tsMuxeR or Scenarist.

Well, the bad news is I just built a new PC - got everything installed so eac3to can do it's thing ....and I'm STILL getting the "The program channel mapping changes in the middle of the stream" error message with the Mr & Mrs Smith Blu-Ray.
Just to be absolutely sure I'm going to let it go through the process of trying to create the mkv, flac chapter & sup files, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to get another abort. I will post the log when it's done aborting.

The problem was brought up with two different movies. I got one sample - with which the problem did not occur. After that the person who reported the problem said that the problem was caused by him using the wrong playlist (which combined some SD and HD m2ts parts). I never got a sample with which I can reproduce the problem. Without a sample I can't do anything...

Madshi,
I provided the last sample (which unfortunately didn't fault for you). I'm happy to provide you another sample (perhaps a larger sample? - the last one was around 50Mb) but if the same file is causing issues with me, and not with you would you have any clue as to where the problem might lie, if not with the file itself?
In the meantime, I'm going to try to create a larger file (say around 100Mb) and upload it for you in the hopes that THIS one will fault for you.
BTW...it's definitely the zone A disk I have here (US).
Here's the eac3to log file - not that it'll help much.
Thanks!
BTW....if you need a larger sample again, just let me know.

I don't see how the sample would show the problem for you but not for me. In this specific case no external software or DirectShow filter is involved. So as long as we're using the very same sample file, the same eac3to version and the same command line, the problem must occur for both of us or for neither of us.
When you test the sample, make sure you copy it to a folder separate from the original Blu-Ray folder structure. E.g. copy it to the desktop and let eac3to check it there.
1. Are you planning to add option to demux TrueHD & Core seperately?
There is no TrueHD core. I guess you mean the separate AC3 frames embedded in the Blu-Ray TrueHD+AC3 stream? If so, I don't need to add an option to demux them separately because that's the default behaviour. I guess you mean you want an option to demux them *not* separately? It would be nice if you could actually write what you mean, that would save me some time... ;)
2. Are you planning to add feature to combine already seperated Core & TrueHD Track by Eac3to?
Again TrueHD has no core. I may eventually add a feature to create an interweaved TrueHD+AC3 track for Scenarist muxing.
