By "the two frame is equally" are you saying that you've found an instance where two AVS files reference the same frame?
When I generated DVD files with DVDRB (from DVD) and open these file from VirtualDubMod, or generated DVD files with DVDRB converted to mpeg2 (example dvd2avi) and open VirtaulDubMod, I see, when I found dropped frame, the two fram type is equally "P", and contain is too equally - when I'm uses nosie filter.
If I'm not uses noise filter, the problem, one chapter end frame is "P" and next chapter first frame too "P" type.
I think the DVDRB coding phase is good (.mp2 generating phase), I think, the "joint phase" is bad. If I See .mp2 files, this is good, but in the result file, is bad.

Perhaps those missing frames are the first frames of an open GOP that DVD2AVI doesnt display?

Hi!
Additional information (see last problem - "dropped frame"), I'm probe, if compressor is Quenc (latest), the frame type I think is better than CCE.
See example (from the result DVD file - extra filter none):
Chapter last frame is 15174
Next chapter first frame is 15175
if uses CCE-SP 2.67
15173 : P
15174 : P (!)
15175 : I
15176 : B
if uses Quenc 0.51
15173 : B
15174 : P
15175 : I
15176 : B

Hey Jdobbs,
Been a while since I'm gotten to test some stuff for ya, but I got something now. Just ran Spiderman's Bonus Disc which starts at about 5.51gb Ran this using these:
DVD-RB .52
Avisyth 2.54
CCE 2.67.00.09 SP
Everything seems to have gone fine, but my final putput is only 3.16gb Maybe it's because this is a bonus disc, since I am using half D1 and half space enabled with dynamic bitrates that causing this. Any ideas? STILL THE BEST CCE APP YET!
Joergen
9th June 2004, 01:23
You shouldnt "use half-d1 half space FOR EXTRAS" in a bonus disc, that doesnt have a movie and extras. DVD-RB will interpret the biggest VTS as the movie and the rest extras. Also dont use it for episodic discs for the same reason.
The undersizing is caused by a combination of the half-d1-space option and dynamic bitrates, I would assume. While encoding a disc that was only 3.5GB (lb->16:9) to begin with, DVD-RB created a 3.5GB output with Dynamic enabled. Without it, the disc came out 4.32GB as it should.
A disc that small doesnt need half-d1 anyway. I didnt need half-d1 for extras discs that were 7.5GB and they came out as good as the original.

Exactly as explained by Joergen. The largest of the VTSs was allocated all the space you recovered from the other extras... and the receiving VTS couldn't use it all.

yup, I thought abotu it after I had posted and figured that out, go figure. I may have found something new though to do with the buttons, which have some video to them, I'll let you know once I check the original.

OK real error this time. This same Spiderman disc has some button over video on the menus. The movement of the lights on the button will not go past teh first light. Same with another menu with moving arrows as buttons, it just kinda jerks and replays the first arrow. The button still works so it's just the animation I guess.

@VampHuntD
The problem with Menus based on stills & BOV is known.
See for reference the new sticky thread of wmansir
(very appreciated) about Known Issues...
See also:
http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=75470
Suggested workaround could be to manually demuxing from the original the m2v file corresponding to the menu, overwriting the file produced by DVD-RB in the encoding phase and rebuilding the title...
Hope it could help...

Hi!
This question for me or of developers? :)

This is what I get for not being around to test more often, yeah I knew that already, I just forgot, thanks though.

@totya.
I am actually doing some tests, with the new release of DVD-RB, just for trying to replicate what you are reporting.
My setup is as follow:
DVD-RB .52
Avisyth 2.54
CCE 2.67.00.23 SP
Filters: Undot().Deen()
Movie: a DVD title in area 2
1) Using Filters almost doubles the encoding time...
2) The output of DVD-RB is PERFECT...
3) Demuxing all vob of the rebuilt title and looking into every cells, I verifyed that all cells of the title start with an I frame (as it should be..)...
4) The number of frames for each one of the rebuilt cells is exactely equal to the number of frames of the original cells...
5) The GOP structures of the original and of the rebuilt cells are different (but this is totally right, since the cells vere re-encoded)...
6) I was not able of observing any anomalous behaviour in playing the title (on my PC). I am just now going burning, to check if the play on my standalone is right, but I am very confident it is so. I will report the result...
7) No way for me to observe dropped frames or any other anomalous behaviour in the video, in the audio and in the navigation (at least on this specific test...)...
In conclusion everything seems as it should be: PERFECT.
@all
It's time in my opinion to donate again. (I will do in minutes...).
I have been away for a while (dropped releases 0.50 and 0.51 damn...) and I think the work of JDobbs is making amazing progresses. I see the time of exiting from the beta test approaching... His work should be supported...
Cheers,
SD

There is nothing wrong with this. Just because CCE decided to encode two consecutive P-Frames doesn't mean it's duplicating a frame. Also make sure that what VDub displays are the frames in coding order, not display order (if that's an option at all).

Sorry for asking, but did you burn the title, without applying any patch and tested on a standalone ?
Master RB pointed out [in the Bov 0.46 thread] that the trouble, in his tests, is just affecting PC players. If it is confirmed so (in my opinion) the issue's relevance have a much lower impact...

Hi!
Thanks your answer.
Well, you say, this no problem? OK.
But then what's wrong? See my post "31st May 2004 15:23".
(Dropped frame...if I'm use noise filter in avs , frame duplicated error)
The dropped available, when double P frames found.. Interesting.
I'm waiting about 10 new verision, and see this again.
Thanks

why do i always end up with a video_ts folder with only 1.79GB inside of it?
i know ive heard about this problem before, but since i cant find it, i want to know if anyone can tell me what's the problem here.

@deh
Your .avs files are probably broken. Check the .m2v files and see if they actually contain video or just a black picture with an orange/red line. If that's the case, check the FAQ Q4.

Hi jdobbs:
Repeat donator and RB lover here...
After running the program many times and almost always in BATCH mode I have come up with a suggestion I believe to be a huge benefit to all:
I am talking about being able to view:
source path destination path path of project in batch screen and the name of open project
Right now the source and destination paths are limited to one line and cannot be scrolled on. Anyone saving files to the MY DOCUMENTS folder with Windows XP cannot see the path to confirm they have the right location.
Same thing occurs in the Batch processing window... Cannot see the whole path of the project selected... It makes batch processing of more than a few projects difficult...
Even when opening an existing project without batch processing I have no view of the project name opened.
I know these are just simple GUI changes, but they would make usability so much easier. I hope you decide these are changes worth making sooner than later.
Regards.. Jeff

Would it be enough to just make the display area twice as large?

Hi guys...
Hopefully someone else has seen this and knows whats up...
On two discs I have had a problem with the movie just stoping on my stand alone players. Yet it previews without the problem in IfoEdit's previewer.
It happens in both cases at the beginning of the second cell in the chapter. The movie plays through the first cell of the chapter successfully and several frames into the second cell and then just stops as if I hit the pause button. But pause has NOT been activated.
If I hit FF and then play I can continue the cell. It just hangs at this one spot.
I have seen this twice. Once was on a movie and the other on a multi episode disc. So far I have tried to mock strip the data and also even put a small 1% compression on it to reencode... But all ends up with the same FREEZE at the same exact place.
So far the only solution was to run the discs through DVD Shrink instead of RB. I don't have the issue with Shrink but much prefer to use RB.
Any ideas...?

I would say t6hat this sounds like a 'restricted cell' problem. The cell has got a wrong value, causing the playback to pause.
You could try this:
IFOEdit>VTS_PGCITI>VTS_PGC_x. Find the cell that it is stopping on. Check the Restricted Angle value. If it's not 0, set it to 0
Good luck!

Any other ideas folks...?
I have posted the IFO HERE (http://posunplugged.com/roswell_ifo). The problem occurs at the beginning of Chapter_4/Cell_6
Any help is appreciated...
So far discs that represent are:
Ride with the Devil
Roswell Season 1 Disc 2 Episode 1
Roswell Season 1 Disc 3 Episode 1
UPDATE: Problem solved in 0.56... Thanks...

Yes, I'm found error. Audio/video synchronization not good in last DVD-RB backups.
Good audio from original (ac3 file), size is : 574 778 624
If I'm converted to DVD-R with DVD Shrink, size is same (good).
If I'm converted to DVD-R with DVD Rebuilder (with CCE or ReJig) this audio size is not good, size is 574 777 280. I think, this is error, cause of audio/video desynchronization.
If you don't understand my english, please ignore me.

Hi!

Hi guys,
I was just wondering if there is a version of DVD Rebuilder coming out soon that supports multi-angles?

Probably the next version will support selecting which one to keep. Real multiangle support (i.e. keep all angles) needs some time.
