I investigated this problem a litle more. Seems to be, that the stream selection from mp4 does not work. The commandline is not correct. It´s easy to reconstruct. :)

Edit:
It does not work directly. If you click on the stream in the import window it works quite good. The problem is, that the stream is not selected if the window opens and everything you do has no influence on the commandline. This looks like a bug, but it is not because it works if you click first on the stream.

This also makes sense, because you can select more than one stream in this window.

Hi, mp4 lovers :p

I need you once again for testing....the video preview. So, I build 2 alpha versions (here (http://kurtnoise.free.fr/Yamb-1.3_alpha1v1.zip) and there (http://kurtnoise.free.fr/Yamb-1.3_alpha1v2.zip)). The first one has a trackbar to move in the stream. The second one hasn't this feature coz I think it's the cause of the bug...So, if you don't care about freezing or crashing, please tell me if it's work for you.

To summarize :
If it's ok (ie you can see the video and you can move the trackbar w/o freezing with version 1), I want to know what dshow filters did you use and what did you have exactly in your mp4 (what kind of video, audio formats, etc...).

Concerning, the Import Settings management with this build : it's more complicated than I thought. :o So, it doesn't work with several input files. I need to check much more other things in my code. btw, the other options/features should work pretty good know. ;)

Anyway, thanks for your tests and supports...

Just to let you know when I tried "version 1" earlier today I got this: -

Currently I have NeroDigital DSdec filter, parsers etc and XviD's DSdec filter installed.

The encode contained Mpeg4 SP video and 1No AAC-LC audio stream with no chapters, subs or MetaData.

Yamb 1.3 alpha1

File - Nero Avc video (Haalis,ffdshow,videorenderer) :)
File - x264 video (Haalis,ffdshow,videorenderer) :)
File - Xvid video (Haalis,ffdshow,videorenderer) :)

All files had Aac (Haalis,CoreAacDec) 1-4 streams .
One file with x264/5.1Vorbis (Haali's,CoreVorbisDec) , some had ttxt's and chapters too and a few older Xvid were muxed with 3ivx.
(about 20 mp4's total were opened sucessfully , viewing/seeking)

Disabled ffdshow and used nero's decoder for avc, got "pins are not connected" error but a seperate active movie window appeared that I could seek in.
under this configuration graphedit would render NeroAvc/x264 files with no errors [Haalis,nerodecoder,videorenderer)

Did not try nero splitter.

Switching input content (Avc - Xvid) while using nero's decoder, Yamb became unresponsive.

NDParser.ax with ffdshow = frozen Yamb
NDParser.ax with nero decoder = buggy , opens 2nd active movie window but with pin connect errors , file will show and seek.

I tested a Nero AVC + AAC video and the Mediacontrol AniMatrix Sample (http://www.comelec.enst.fr/osmo4/#samples) from the Osmo4 page and got identical results, i.e. works perfectly if Haali Splitter and ffdshow are used but fails when either the Nero splitter or Nero Audio dshow filters are used.

@SeeMoreDigital:
Haali->Nero Video Decoder->Video Renderer
\----->ffdshow Audio decoder->Directsound

Seems to work fine in Graphedit as well (though not with YAMB), trying to replace ffdshow with Nero Audio Decoder did not work at all. It looks like its the Nero file source/splitter that causes the problem, the audio decoder not working is fairly minor by comparison (still annoying though).

Ooops, I forgot to say thanks to Kurtnoise13, YAMB is already quite handy and getting better by the day keep up the good work.

Today I tested with different samples...and same conclusion. I don't know if it's good or bad (ie I don't want to force people to install some other filters). So, for the moment I stick around with import Settings and I'll see this trick after the next release.

nero's filters have lots of limitations, i wouldnt be surprised at all when there is some mechanism that restricts their useage in an external tool, like yamb

Hi Kurtnoise 13! It's a great GUI your Yamb! I was thinking, if is not possible to include an option to mux the subtitles in VobSubs, like it does Nero Recod? so it's possible to watch them on a Nero Digital certified player.

Yes, but I have to mux a DX50 MPEG-4 with an AAC audio stream and a subtitle stream (ssa that I've converted to srt) and I don't want to recode them, I've already recode the audio (all these files come from an mkv with ac3 audio).
Maybe I will convert it to avi, it's the better way.....

kurt meant that nero recode is the only tool that places vobsubs in .mp4, not that you have to reencode audio and video

why would you need to have to reencode the video for having subtitles?
simply convert the vobsubs to .srt for example and than place them in .mp4 with yamb/mp4box

But because I want to have vobsubs for playing the mp4 in a Nero Digital player , but forget about this, maybe it's off topic now. Anyway it's nice to have this feature, but I know that Yamb is just a GUI, mp4box should really support vobsubs.

I am using my own method for converting DVD subtitles to Nero Digital subtitles by using VSRip/SubToSup/IfoEdit/Recode and a dummy m2v video stream.VSRip converts dvd subtitles to vobsub format,SubToSup converts vobsub subtitles to sup format,IfoEdit authors a fake dvd from the fake m2v video stream and sup subtitles.IfoEdit also corrects the subtitle color.Recode will open this fake dvd and convert it to a mp4 file with tracks.Track 3 is the track of the dummy video stream and track 4 is the track of vobsubs.
My method might include many steps but takes less than a minute if you get used to it and is always successful unlike the graphedit method :D

My final step is about mp4box muxing.I am using the following commandline

SET VIDEO=video.mp4
SET VID_LANG=eng
SET AUDIO=audio.mp4
SET AUD_LANG=eng
SET CHAPTERS=VTS_01 - Chapter Information - OGG.txt
SET SUBTITLES=DVD Title 1.mp4
SET SUB_LANG=ell
SET OUTPUT=movie.mp4

copy "%SUBTITLES%" "%OUTPUT%" & MP4Box -rem 3 "%OUTPUT%"

This cli will copy my subtitle mp4 file to a new one,removes the dummy video stream adds the new tracks and chapters.The video stream will be track 5 the audio stream track 6.
I would like to be able to do something like this in YAMB in order to avoid DOS in my final step.Perhaps there is an option for something like that and I'm missing it.
Of course the ideal solution would be vobsub muxing support in mp4 with mp4box,but we can't have everything in life right? :)

another thing: what's about the possibility to set negative values into delay?

By-the-way, how you're getting on with your revised GUI?

yes & no...The main problem concerns people who like to have 3 videos streams + 5 audios streams + 5 sub streams + xxxxxxx into 1 file. ;) The code management begins more complicated when we include much more things.

In addition, much more free time could be great too... :o

I hope to release something this weekend.

Yes, I can imagine it being quite a complicated process writing a GUI that incorporates the new MP4Box language and audio delay command lines!Languages was done in MeGUI... it involved quite a bit of rewriting though, and since YAMB is more flexible.. even more code has to be changed. Now a Substream is no longer just a string, but a struct containing a string, another string for the language and an integer for the delay... I'm wondering how importat delays really are though.. it's not like you get a lot of AAC source material and if you have to re-encode something, BeSweet's delay correction comes to the rescue.

And prior to converting say an AC3 stream to an AAC stream. I guess much will depend on the accuracy of the .VOB de-muxing tool.

I personally use DGIndex, which can generate elementary audio streams with 0ms delays. However, I've found delays can occur when cutting out segments from an .VOB file. That said, the audio streams from these segments can be easily corrected using say, AC3 Delay Corrector.
