YAMB 1.6 is out

I've noticed some problems with Yamb 1.6 this morning :

1) The "save" (log tab) button doesn't go yellow when I activate the NeoDesert theme, it stays the old color the previous theme gave it :p

2) I've encoded a mp4 file with nero, containing MPEG4-ASP + LC-AAC. I wanted to extract the visual track to a .avi (because my SAP doesn't support .mp4 ... shameful, lol), and even if the extraction was successful, Yamb said :

By the way... instead of saying "Signal of the HE-AAC", you could say something like "AAC-HE Signalling" or "Forced AAC-HE Signalling" ;)

Because of that I'm thinking about some "option" in YAMB or programs which can make MP4 to save the file with ndss inside it. Is better to have it from the start because maybe in some day the user will have a standalone with ND support or the firmware maker will never exclude the ndsc restriction.
Or, even the resulted MP4 file is with 5.1CH inside it, to have ndss.

There is a switch to remove brand name under MP4Box. So, I can add it into Yamb. But a question remains : when the firmware will be updated to support this, what about utility of this option ?

To avoid more OT, try to reply directly into the Yamb thread...
Because Cinema Profile can be more than 720x576 I think they will never remove the restriction inside the firmware.

p/s: You may also double check the MP4Box command used to mux the videos and subtitles. To display the mp4box command line, in the 'Options' tab of Yamb:
General -> MP4Box -> Check "View or Edit MP4Box command line"

No, it was just a small test for the screenshot to show the place where "ndsc" is.
As I wrote in another thread, if you want to test some MP4 files in standalones (including subtitles, 2CH, 5.1CH) some experienced user can give me some link to download different files and test them. I just want to help for the compatibility of MP4 with standalones and I don't have time, experience to create this files, because at this moment I'm using simple avi files with external subtitles.
My players are already modded to support "ndsc".

I solved the problem with not having the options from the screenshot of leowai. Selecting Standard Profile, even if using 5.1 CH the player will play the file.
I have the french CD test. I asked for some files made by some users with subtitles created in various modes with MP4box (srt, ttxt, vobsub). Max. resolution 720x576, no AVC.

It seems to be a problem with AtomicParsley. It hangs and sometimes crashes(see pic) probably due to wrongly generated options below.
- The --stik option in tagging doesn't use quotes.
- The TVShows set of options show up with only a single hyphen, should be double hyphens.

AtomicParsley by default creates another file when tagging, unlike mp4tags. Once AtomicParsley is stable would be nice to use the --writeBack (previously --overWrite) option ?

You have the time progress + MP4Box stdout.Right, but for tagging "Tagging started/done" doesn't say much. I understand Yamb started out as a mp4box only GUI. Now that it supports tagging, wouldn't it help to have the output of the tagger also captured ? "behind the scenes" => the output that AP or mp4tags spits out on the console.

EDIT: With the latest build of Yamb, the command line box pops up out of the active screen area, way down on 1024x768 res. This is only if Yamb.ini doesn't exist (cmdForm_top,cmdForm_left uninitialised ?)

Anyways, there's the new overwrite feature and almost everything fixed :) except...
- TVxxx options generation with AP still broken (double hyphens)
- Genere off by one when loading tagged mp4 (with AP Tagger) and Video tags not read. Not a prob since only remove tags supported.

Minor visual annoyances
- Log tab doesn't gain focus when tagging starts, unlike mux operation.
- Title stuck at 0% even after tagging completion (with AP)
- Window title blank until it loses/regains focus.

BTW, In Tagger, what is the disabled "Codec" text below the comments box indicate ?

Wrong FPS & Time & Audio!
When I mux a video with 30 fps my 2 players says 25 fps and shows Total time longer, and audio ends earlier :(
YAMB mux > VLC: 25 fps. FFDshow: 25 fps. Time=08:43
MeGUI mux > VLC: 30 fps. FFDshow (Zoom Player): 30 fps. Time=07:16 (as it should)

avis [info]: 640x400 @ 30.00 fps (13080 frames)
x264 [info]: kb/s:1000.6

When muxing at MeGUI there is a box (not optional) to choose the FPS ... I don't find that at YAMB.

MP4Box/YAMB supports already m2v streams embedded in VOB or MPG files and m1v embedded in (S)VCD for mux/import part.

Personally, I only tested m2v and it works fine...

and as its already possible to mux from .mpg to .mp4, why not simply mux the raw mpeg-2 stream (what produces those anyways btw?) into .mpg before muxing to .mp4?

Personally speaking, I use DGIndex just about every day to de-mux std-def .TS sources to their elementary streams!

I like to mux the MPEG-2 stream into the .MP4 container before converting the AC3/MPEG audio stream to AAC and muxing them into the .MP4 container too!

Personally speaking, I really like the idea of having MPEG-2 within MP4. You can easily add chapters, audio streams and subs. And create encodes that work really well in MediaPlayer Classic, with fast accurate seeking and good CPU performance (compared to it's VOB or MPG equivalent).

And if you're lucky enough to have bought a Yamada 6700 stand-alone player and flashed it with New Age v4 firmware, you'll be able to play them in hardware too ;)

The PFS refers to your encoded image pixel frame size/resolution (ie: 640x224). And the MAR refers to the "target" movie aspect ratio you want to achieve (ie: 4:3, 1.78:1, 1.85:1, 2.35:1, 2.40:1 etc).

If you are playing your encodes in MediaPlayer Classic, there's no real need to use Haali's (MP4) splitter because MediaPlayer Classic has its own MP4/MOV splitter ;)

Also... you could try entering/using "215:179" Aspect Ratio Signalling (ARS) PAR value in YAMB, as this will provide an indicated (visual) track size of 864x368 - which equates to a movie AR of 2.3478:1 (ie: very close to 2.35:1)
