BDtoAVCHD v2.8.0 - One Click Blu-Ray 2D/3D to BD5/BD9/BD25/MKV

Seems that the latest included version of x264 codec (r2309) has external dependencies with file "opengl.dll" and if this DLL is not installed on your computer, execution fail.

Solution is:

a) Update your graphics driver with one that includes the file "opengl.dll" (last nVidia or ATi drivers).

b) Download this version of x264 and replace in "C:\Program files\BDtoAVCHD\x264" (this version is compiled without opengl.DLL dependence)

I tried option a) first. Updated to latest graphics driver and no difference.

b) caused my computer to shut down on its own.

Neither method is working pistachio.

I am also suffering from a Cinavia problem with THE RAID (2011), playing it on PS3 and get a Cinavia error, and audio is muted. Can you fix this??? :scared:

Shutdown seems a overhead/temperature problem of your laptop.

The DLL dependencies issue is resolved because no "FAILED" message in log anymore.

I converted a 4.36GB MKV file to BD5 and it won't fit on a blank DVD-R when I try to burn it with ImgBurn.

It says: "There doesn't appear to be enough space on the disc to burn this image. Image size: (4,489MB), Disc size: (4,489MB). Would you like to continue anyway?"

What do I do? Continuing gives error.

Is there any progress yet in knowing how to get this application to use the 3D MKV file (in raw MVC format) that can be extracted from a BR disk with MakeMKV?

I'm desperate to find a way to get this file into SBS or TB format. As I've no away of playing this MVC files in the raw frame-packing format to my projector, so need to convert them to SBS.

BDtoAVCHD will open the file and encode it, but not in SBS. I can't see ANY options related to 3D SBS anywhere in BDtoAVCHD? Where are the 3D options refereed to in the release notes?

It`s a known issue but I have no solution for it (sorry). The cause is the MVC decoder "H264StereoSource.dll" that is not compatible with some Blu-Ray's.

Pistacho, any idea what might be happening?

Check first if your system is capable or run OpenCL applications with CLbenchmark:

Tried this and it works on the Core i7 4700 MQ, Intel HD 4600, and Geforce 745M. The computer is new and not polluted with lots of other software. Any idea why BDTOAVCHD cannot use openCl?

In terms of compressibility (x264 codec) is much better SBS / Top-Bottom formats that frame interleaving or row interleaving formats. For this reason it is best to use SBS format to store the contents (file format) but can be converted at display time.

But the loss of resolution you mention here is true. Although instead of converting directly to line-interleaving format would be better convert to Top-Bottom format (1920x540) and at display-time convert to line-interleaved (1920x540). No additional loss of resolution in this case, only reorder of lines placement.

In the next version will add (as an option) top-bottom format that effectively is better for passive 3D TV.

But for active 3D TV is usually better SBS format because the horizontal resolution (1920) is higher for dividing by two. Also, if there are black bands (widescreen), already is "lost" part of vertical resolution.

New: 3D top-bottom output mode besides side-by-side. The 3D top-bottom mode provides higher quality in passive 3D TVs while for active 3D TVs is better side-by-side mode.
Improved: the method of conversion Blu-Ray 3D to MKV/AVCHD 3D SBS avoid creating the temporary file AVC-MVC combined. Is no longer needed to use the process "MVCCombine.exe" gaining some speed.

So why do you expect a mkv?

I did two encodes in TB I have in SBS too.
Compared on a Panasonic TX-L55ETW60 new TB-Mode has more details and less aliasing (IMHO).
(Panasonic TX-L55ETW60 is passive 3D)

No auto-crop is supported.

Crop option is disabled intentionally in 3D modes because most players like 3D TVs expect standard full resolution (1920x1080) and expect find left/right images in a determinate area. For e.g. left image in most top 1920x540 rectangle… So if image is cropped bad things occurs... :)

Can I please ask (Think I have brought it up Before) to add a extra option to be able to set the exakt outcome of kbps as one can i ex: BD3D2MK3D?
It seems BD3D2MK3D and BDtoAVCHD works different to each other and some discs works perfect on BDtoAVCHD and others seem to work better in BD3D2MK3D! :)
So PLEASE add so on can set somewere the outcome of the kbps ex: 10000 kbps , I always set it to that as a Target Bitrate in BD3D2MK3D + 2-pass , Present: Slower, Profile: high10, Level 4.1!


Please, please, please add the option to be able to specify this and ending up with a say ex: 3DSBS *.mkv. ??? ;)

There are some BD 3D discs that has incorrect left eye / right eye frames. Usually, frame for left eye is on the left (SBS) or on top (HOU). But sometimes they are made for right eye/left eye (I don't know the reason for it).
So AVC stream is for right eye and MVC stream is for left eye.
The question is it possible to make an option to flip frames while recoding or merging MKV for sbs and half top-bottom (half over under)?

Integrated Intel HD 4000 aren't powerfull enough to handle x264 encode, so is not currently supported. More info here:

In most of Blu-Ray's AVC=left eye and MVC=rigth eye, but not all.

But the program can detect the order and always encoded correctly (left eye in left or top whatever the left is AVC or MVC).

So there is no reason to want to encode with swapped order.

I uninstalled 1.9.3 and deleted the [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\BDtoAVCHD] registry entry.
Installed 1.9.2; the queue was now empty.
Reinstalled 1.9.3; queue still empty.

All settings and queued jobs are stored in the Windows Registry. In the key:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\BDtoAVCHD]

Then deleting this key resets all settings to default values​​, the jobs queue is cleared and should solve any problems related to "corrupted/incorrect configuration".

So install/uninstall the program it is not necessary to repair problems related to the configuration.

Another common problem occurs if the temporary folder points to a drive letter that no longer exists. The error message "Unable to read BD structure" is obtained but due to misconfiguration of the temporary folder. Also is solved in this way.

Hi guys, I have a strange problem ive been using this application since last year, I stopped using it since september due to school univ etc.. now i just updated to the lastest and it keeps crashing it opens and crashes i formated and re installed windows still the same thing.. I have 2 computers that i use just for this purpose to convert stuff.. my specs

on a different note I got it to work on my mac in a windows XP virtual machine it runs in 32 bit mode..

I tested successful in a VirtualBox VM Windows 7 64 bit just fresh installed and my main system is also Windows 7 64 bit SP1 with all recent updates.

New: Hardware acceleration on MVC decoding (utilized in Blu-Ray 3D conversions). Requires Windows 7/8/8.1 and Intel Core CPU with Integrated Graphics like i7-3770k. Also requires recent Intel Graphics drivers installed. If all requirements are met, HW acceleration is used without user specific action. On i7-3770k e.g. can expect speed gains from 10-15 fps (SW) to 65-85 fps HW (x264 encoding 1st pass 3D MVC to 3D SBS/TAB).

Any chance of support for dedicated graphic cards like my GTX780 (hardware acceleration through CUDA or OpenCL)? People with a dedicated graphics card cannot use hardware acceleration in its current form, even if they have a supported Intel CPU.
