Clean disc and make ISO again

Thats not exactly possible given I don't have the disc. I dont understand why it worked the last time. I'll just keep trying with this one.

Its not the movie it self, that explains why it worked when I picked the track that people said is supposed to be the forced subs in Avatar. Its dying when trying to do the extract forced subs from track one as seen below. Anyway around this? Anyway to just add the subs?

No need to hear "what people say" to know what forced subtitle track is... BDtoAVCHD detects forced subs with "Sacan bitrates" function and selects by default proper track.

This source is broken/corrupted/bad-rip/incomplete download/etc... the unique solution is re-rip, re-download, etc...

Yes, I have done this, same issue. I extracted the sub file in BDsuptosub and while there are some errors, I was able to export the forced subs without issue. Can I not just have BDtoAVCHD encode the movie without subs and then add the subs in?

You can use TsMuxer to replace subs track with one is good (in the source and encode modified source). However if source is corrupted probably TsMuxer fails also.

If source is corrupted... is corrupted for all tools.

I'm gonna try just using the whole sub file. My player should be able to just play the forced. It's only dying when Trying to extract the forced subs. I see intel put out New driver today. Any news on whether it works with the hardware encoding?

What does the leak actually do? Just consume more when encoding? I have 16gigs. Is it that big a deal?

This is not going as you think!

I'm working on workaround.... meanwhile I recommend you stay with 4463 drivers (especially because are working fine). Or do you have any special need to update?

I'm currently on the version you said locks and dies. The 4463 works about 50 percent of the time but didn't want to go backwards if it's not a major issue.

This worked, I extracted the sub file from the bluray, encoded with bdtoavchd without sub. changed the ending ISO to mkv with makemkv and then used mkvtoolnix to put the two together.

Please let me know the status of the hardware encoding, I'll go back to 4633 or whatever it is if thats the only one that will work. Clearly it seems any of the later ones memory leak or not will not finish with hardware. The 4633 randomly worked but at least it worked. I've managed to fill my 2TB drive so I'm pretty screwed until I start compressing these things.

One question:
Why is it not possible to use "TrueHD Core" as Target Audio in MKV mode?
If you choose AC3 audio will be senselessly reencoded.

well unfortunately, while both movies were really fast, neither of the two movies I encoded are working correctly. Both get messed up about 3/4 way through. I was watching ghostbusters tonight with my son again with the reencode I did this morning and at 1:22:15 approx, the 3d got all messed up. I verified now on the computer monitor where it just shows the frames side by side that indeed they are getting pixalated and out of sync at that time so its not an issue with my system playing it. I checked robinson crusoe which I've already watched twice with him so I know the disc copy is good and the new encode is doing the same thing as well although a little earlier in the movie. I'm guessing ghostbusters is 1 hour 56 min long and Robinson Crusoe is 1 hour 30 min long and I'm betting they probably doing it at the same relative time to the length of the movie.

Pistacho, any ideas on this? I use this and Makemkv and my player only plays mkv's and the iso were converted to mkv without reencoding when we first watched them without issue. I have not updated makemkv so I can only think its something with the new encoder.

I'd almost guess something was running out of memory, but I have 16 gigs and wouldn't that mean both movies would do it at approximately the same place?

This is an old limitation because ancient versions of Mkvmerge cannot extract "core" part of TrueHD (or there was a problem I remember). At present Mkvmerge treats TrueHD audio as two differents tracks so this limitation no longer exists.

I'll check the code and I will surely implement this possibility.

Take into account that not all problems you have are related to Intel drivers or new BDtoAVCHD version e.g.: corrupted or bad-rip sources, MakeMKV pre or post process, strange 3D players, etc...

Anyway: finally Intel has fixed memory leak bug in a new branch of drivers (only for Skaylake and Kabylake). These drivers are not yet available on Intel website but they can be downloaded from Windows update:

note: these are newer than previous "4539" from another branch.

Extract cab with Winrar and install drivers through device manager via "disc install" method.

With these drivers we can use BDtoAVCHD v2.6.2 or BDtoAVCHD v2.6.3 indifferently.

So you can install first v2.6.2 and make one 3D encode and then update to v2.6.3 and make same encode again:

-If with v2.6.2 the picture is OK and with v2.6.3 not is a bug introduced with new BDtoAVCHD version (I doubt).
-If you have problems with two encodes, it is clear: these issues have no connection with drivers nor with BDtoAVCHD update.

I used same job from 2.6.2 thats probably why it says that, I started job again fresh in 2.6.3 now. will have results in a minute or two.

I installed 4463 now. Hardware encode started right up. I had renamed the mediasdk folder mediasdk_ when trying software encode. I notice
installing the 4463 put in a new media sdk folder. Maybe there is some conflict between the new driver from today and the media sdk installed?

2.6.3 with 4463 did same problem in same spot on movie. Makemkv reports the frames are delayed. I'm getting now with 2.6.2. Takes twice as long. 33 minutes left assuming it completes

Finished. Same issue. I checked the older movies I hardware encoded with this and none of them have the problem. I'm guessing something changed on my system but no idea what

And BDtoAVCHD is NOT compatilbe with MakeMKV...

Blu-Ray/ISO (protected) => AnyDVD HD => ISO (unprotected) => Mount ISO => BDtoAVCHD

Mount ISO: In Windows 8/10 right click on File Explorer to use mount feature of OS. In Windows 7 install DVDFab Virtual Drive (http://www.videohelp.com/software/DVDFab-Virtual-Drive) (free)

MKV's created with MakeMKV (or others programs) are NOT supported as 3D source for BDtoAVCHD. Only decrypted ISOs can be used as 3D source for BDtoAVCHD.

AnyDVD HD can also decrypt Blu-Rays on the fly (is not necessary create intermediate "decrypted ISO" and mount steps).

Also BDtoAVCHD is LAST step. Final ISO is for watch as it is.

I get that, I am mounting the ISO directly. I will try to play final iso directly as I believe one of the players I have will do that although I don't think it will make a difference. Makemkv converts the original iso to mkv, why would it be any different for the compressed iso?

I tried again in 2.5.8 and same result. Clearly something is messed up on my system and I'm hoping you could point me maybe to what that could be as I have at least 3-4 movies hardware compressed previously and they are fine.

Start by checking the actual hardware. Intel Burn Test, Memtest86+, Prime95. After those can run 24h without errors proceed with reading/writing tests over SATA/USB or whatever it is you're using for storage.

I meant to fix the potential issue with the drivers. It used to work so obviously I apparently have some type of corruption. Do I uninstall the graphics driver and delete the media sdk folder? Is there anything else I would want to do as well?

well I just did a hardware encode and it appears to be good. I uninstalled the graphics drivers this morning and reinstalled although I'm not really sure what made the difference. last night even the software encode of star trek was giving me all sorts of frame delays and pixelation throughout. Now scanning the created iso it all appears to be good and makemkv ripped it without any frame delay errors. Will try another tonight, hopefully problem solved.

So I watched one of the movies I encoded with this with hardware last night. Finding Dory. I noticed I would get a quick white horizontal line every once in a while during the film. My kids didn't notice it, but I did. I also noticed this when watching HOU films that I downloaded but not when watching a straight rip of the bluray. I use DLP glasses and I'm guessing its just something inherent to the encoding process?

As for 2.6.3 and 2.6.4, is there any major difference that I really need to upgrade as 2.6.3 is working fine now and I'm afraid to create unnecessary problems again.

if I scan bitrates using the can bitrates button it changes the selected sub from 4608 to 4618 in the sub field. so I can get round this by scanning using the button then changing the subs back to the correct one.

quick question which will produce a better quality rip bdtoavchd set to avcdh 7.93gb dts core and very slow or ripbot set to mkv 7.93gb dts core and 2 pass?

at the moment it seems bdtoavchd produces the same overall file size but uses less bit rate for the video, even though the audio is the same size in both files, why? wheres the extra space gone?

so I'm wondering what will produce a better rip? slightly less bit rate but very slow setting or more bit rate and 2 passes?

Yes, scan bitrates, then make sure everything is the way you want it before you add job to queue.

I just had an issue where the system kept dying when going to mvc encode. I checked the media sdk analyser and it was showing software only, no hardware. I hadn't changed anything, but I tried reinstalling the driver and now it shows hardware enabled again. Windows 10 update maybe?

Second time this has happened. Anyone else have this issue?

and again I just had to reinstall the driver again as it said I wasn't enabled for hardware mode. Am I the only one with this issue?
