BDtoAVCHD v2.8.0 - One Click Blu-Ray 2D/3D to BD5/BD9/BD25/MKV

It would be great if an option would DVDtoAVCHD in one aspect ratio for MKV's may be adjusted manually. I had a couple of weeks 2 MKV's with an aspect ratio of 1918x816 pixels. This resolution did not deal at all with BDtoAVCHD. It would be great if in such a case, the aspect ratio could also be set manually

I don't understand how BD Remux works.

I have a MKV with H.264 video & DTS audio, I'd like to get out a M2TS with the same H.264 (not re-encoded) video and AC3 audio, but when I open the MKV and select BD Remux it tries to re-encode the video to 40,000 kbit.

MKVs are great if all you want to do is play them on your PC, but MKV files don't work on my PS3, Xbox, Sony Blu-ray player, or Google TV!

MaistroX, you are setting the custom size target, but using CRF mode with a value of 16 (which is WAY overkill BTW, as ~18 is considered transparent and 18-23 is the generally recommended range).

If you are aiming for a custom size, you will need to use a 2pass-style mode, instead of CRF, which just aims for a custom quality level, not filesize.

Is it possible to set a custom output size? Instead of the usual 4.7gig [SL] or 8.5gig [DL], can it be set to, 4gig or 8gig?

Indeed, you can set a custom output size for AVCHD output. Simply enable the AVCHD(custom size) mode, adjust the custom size parameter to your desired size, and you're good to go!

This is not currently possible to do with MKV output, but maybe the author will add that in the future.

There are a number of other programs that will let you create MKV output from a Bluray, including BDRebuilder, RipBot, and MeGUI.

Guess I can answer my own post. Using DVDFab, full frame side-by-side and full frame top-bottom is not a supported resolution by my samsung tv. I'll have to research what is the maximum supported resolution through DLNA and give it another go.

And still ALL finnished movies have smaller sizes, as the latest ended up with only 6.28GB and a bitrate of 5615kbps! :(

I would like to have a locked 10000kbps with 2-pass on every made *.mkv!
HOW DO I SET THAT?

Can u add options so one are able to set final result of kbps, say I´d like to have a 10Mb or IF I set a Media Size, it actually get that size? ;)

Sorry for this but i cannot seem to find an answer with google, how do i set it up to encode to 3d sbs, i have a backed up copy of a 3d film but cant find an option to select 3d encode anywhere.
Am i missing something?

If you backed your 3D film up in BD folder format, choose 'Open BD Folder' and navigate to the BDMV folder. If you have your 3D movie backed up as an ISO, first mount it as a virtual drive, then navigate to the BDMV folder on that virtual drive. You'll be asked to choose what kind of 3D file you want to create.

Not sure what i am doing wrong, i have a 3d blu ray backed up via makemkv's full disc back up, when i open the bdmv file with bdtoavchd i get no option to select what type of 3d file i wish to create.

Any ideas helpful please, the folder structure contains an ssif which after googleing seems to be correct for a 3d movie.

I think it's better CRF based encode for MKVs .... but if you want to encode with CBR (for some special need) can do the following:


Choose AVCHD BD9 format and change the calculated bitrate with 10000 (just before adding to the queue)
When finished go back to open the created AVCHD folder.
This time choose the option MKV Remux (this step takes very little time)

Crop option is only for Blu-Ray to MKV conversion and this option can be enabled in "advanced settings" button:

No auto-crop is supported.

Bdtoavchd is almost my nro 1 bd tool, but it still has 1 big flaw..that is having no multiple/external subtitle and audio support! That really is the function this awesome software needs still.

But I can't see an option for this?

I've created both a 3DBD backup and an MKV, both in MVC format (using MakeMKV to decrypt the original disk). I use this as my source and it will generate an AVI file, but it's not SBS, it's just a normal 2D file.

After a long time back on to this forum , i converted a 10GB mkv to AVCHD BD9 on a slow preset every thing turned out to be fine except subtitles mkv had subs under subtitles it is showed as English UTF-8 English i selected the subtitles option as selected but on to my final avchd BD9 disc which i burned on a DVD +R DL 8.5Gb disc using img Burn played on my Panasonic Bluray player quality is outstanding except when i try to turn subs on using the player remote subs wont come on , please help me how to resolve this , before encoding shall i have to select the option forced or selected ? why the subs wont come on usually u press display button on bluray player remote and select the subs on here i am stuck not working.please help................

The only input format supported for 3D is BluRay MVC structure --> from Blu-Ray 3D (MVC) we can get a 3D SBS AVCHD or MKV (side-by-side) ;)

I have a MVC file. I use MakeMKV to rip the 3D bluray, it makes an MKV file in MVC format. You can see that from the post a few above this. I've I examine the file with media-info you can see it clearly has the "MultiView_Count : 2" set... this IS a MVC file!

I can open this file in the application too.... but then what?? where are the options to select SBS or any other 3D based options for output? There is NOTHING in the GUI related to 3D , SBS or anything like like.... If I pick encode. it encodes it, but it's not SBS!

Just tested the Smurfs 3D with version 1.8.6 and the problem is still there.. trying to rip to 2D with this disc results in the beginning of the movie been missing.. its not joining the first m2ts.

Solution is:

a) Update your graphics driver with one that includes the file "opengl.dll" (last nVidia or ATi drivers).

b) Download this version of x264 and replace in "C:\Program files\BDtoAVCHD\x264" (this version is compiled without opengl.DLL dependence)

It`s a known issue but I have no solution for it (sorry). The cause is the MVC decoder "H264StereoSource.dll" that is not compatible with some Blu-Ray's.

Solution is:

A write error: where I said "opengl.dll" replace with "OpenCL.DLL"... the rest is true :p
