Reporting a bug :

When opening the BDMV folder, the playlist selection window opens with only one mpls file (00000.mpls) containing two m2ts files (00000.m2ts and 00017.m2ts) (odd behaviour)
When clicking on the "proceed" button, only the VC1 video is detected, no audio

The solution is to open directly the 00000.m2ts file.
The 00017.m2ts duration is only one second, black screen with no audio.

Hi,

Just some feedback....

Before the encoding and muxing starts, can you get your program to do a check for free space? My temp drive didn't have enough space and the app crashed.

In the GUI, would it be possible to show a estimated countdown on the current process and also a clearer indication of what the app is currently processing (at present its easy to miss it in the queue window).

Thanks for commenting on the problem. It seems a very special case, for me no reason for that m2ts file with a one second of blank video at end. If I see a BD like this look for a solution that will not fail... will surely have more BD's like this.

Thanks pistacho! Luckily, I still have the MKV which I first had problems with (Knight and Day). I'll have it encode this night and see tomorrow if the subs now are normally sized. I'll let you know, of course.

Check your power settings. Make sure you set them to never turn off while plugged in.

Control Panel > Power Options

You should see an option for "High Performance" and a link to "Change plan settings" next to it. Go to "Change plan settings' and make sure that the option for "Put the computer to sleep:" is "Never".

Surely it is a specific problem with this particular MKV file. Anyway, I recommend that you always use ImgBurn (http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download) to burn BDtoAVCHD output to the disks.

On the other hand does not make much sense to want to convert a 6.55 GB MKV to 8.5 GB. (For make it bigger than the original will not get more quality.)

Make your life simple and forget about the .MKV intermediate step. Just use your original, Bollywood commercial Blu-ray as your source to create an AVCHD DVD9...

What i was doing is using the .mkv file which about 10 to 14 Gb and converting to DVD9 ,in AVCHD formatt

I got another problem with this programe, when i select the target audio DTS HD MA as untouched i am not getting the final BD MV folder in the AVCHD final out put folder instead i can see all files end up in Temp folder ,but if i select audio to recode to AC3 640kbps then i am getting my final AVCHD DVD9.

Is it some compatibily issues of DTS HD MA untouched to this programme.Please help..........

I am doing encoding in my laptop which is Pentium dual Core 2.1 GHZ 4GB Ram 160 GB HDD which takes about 15 to 18 hours.I select x264 slow to encode.

I am about to upgrade my old sempron desktop to a new one

I7 950 3.06GHZ 6 GB RAM and ppossibley 2 times 500GB HDD as Raid 0 configured.

With the above mentioned system how long will it take to finish encoding .also from a orig blu ray source.

Please share some comments here throw your experiences in time taken for encoding please...........

(stream from 4608 to 4639)
then the stream from 33 ° to 68 ° are absent or undetected.

oh! did not think could be a Blu-Ray with many subtitles. The program has a limit of 50 subtitle tracks :o

Try this patched version with limt expanded to 80 tracks :rolleyes:

Ok. I did not know this limitation of the BD structure... The program code was an internal limitation (50 PGS tracks) and believed it was not enough for this BD.

But it is clear that the limitation is in the Blu-Ray structure itself.

So there is already enough with 50 PGS "slots" (at most only use 32). :)

I'm back after testing some improvements I suggested in the past. And everything was working fine. Great Job.

Sorry but I come back with 2 bug reports.

First bug :

I tried to back up a BR movie with 3 selected .mpls files. I chose the correct one (3 different m2ts for the chosen mpls). After proceeding I saw that my preferred audio was encoded in Dolby True HD. I scanned and I had to reencode the video. The scanning of the Dolby True HD was apparently correct (more than 2000 kbps, I don't remember the real figures). I selected as target audio the option "UNTOUCHED" (no doubt on that). I added one small sub track and I started conversion keeping the video bitrates given by the software

But the resulting m2ts after conversion was with a normal ac3 (448kbps) audio track (apparently only the True HD core). I lost the true HD.... first problem

I used an eac3to GUI to demux the original BR and to extract the original Dolby True HD and also to demux the m2ts given by BDtoAVCHD to extract the reencoded .h264 and the .sup.

I muxed all 3 files with tsmuxer and everything was working fine until I made the ISO file with ImgBurn and saw that it was oversized with 200 MB (nearly 1% of my BD-R)... second problem

Second bug:

Among all backups I have made 2 (only 2) were oversized with 0.1%. I cut the end of the movie with ts muxer to avoid to reencode. I haven't found why these 2 and not the others. I suspect a problem with x264.
Now I used to reduce the target video bitrate by 25kbps to prevent to cut

Possible future improvements for BDtoAVCHD :

-multiple audio and sub tracks
-ability for external audio and sub tracks (I know you are busy on that)
-ISO file as output by using ImgBurn (a direct link to ImgBurn would be enough)
-ability to cut a part of the movie by using tsMuxer

and finally (very interesting....) ability to "see" the sub captions by using BDSuptoSub and select the correct one (subs of the real movie and not the comments of the scenarist, director,..)

BDtoAVCHD is on track to be the best....:)

I think I have found an explanation of the 200 MB oversizing.

The Eac3to GUI can extract an ac3 file (which is the Dolby True Hd core). The bitrate of the ac3 file is 448 kbps (same as given by BDtoAVCHD)

The Eac3to GUI can also extract a .thd+ac3 file (the full Dolby true HD).

It is this second file that I add as input for tsmuxer and tsmuxer sees a core of 640 kbps. Very odd.

The difference between 640kbps and 448 kbps gives approximately the oversizing of 200MB for the ISO file.

MKV support is limited to options that tsMuxer can handle itself.

For example is NOT supported MKVs with header compression because tsMuxer not support them.

The estimated time calculation is performed by the x264 codec, the program displays only the text that appears in the command window... if it is not is because the codec does not give this information... I think that happens to compress raw video (when joined several m2ts for example)

Do not think it has many serious errors but surely are missing details to refine... Also addresses some limitations of previous versions (allows to use as source MKV's with head compression and .m2ts out of BD structure).

New: MKV as alternate output format. Allows to convert Blu-Ray to MKV, recoding the video (CRF) or creating a BDremux.
Improved: for AVCHD output is used the new parameter --bluray-compat instead of --open-gop bluray, --aud, --nalhrd vbr and --b-pyramid strict. This also always checks compliance of ref and b frames with AVCHD.
Improved: accepting as input MKV files with header compression.
Fixed: when converting a Blu-Ray with the main file split into several .m2ts parts and selecting the TrueHD audio was kept AC3 core only.
Mkvextract updated to version v4.6.0 and Mkvmerge added.
x264 updated to revision r1936.

Why have tune option under advanced? I often use anime and grain tune and it is easy to forget that setting if you don't see it on the main window..

Keep more subtitles and atleast two audio streams.

But I'm having some problems with interlaced sources, tried with two different sources(1080i).
In this case the program jumps directly to step 3/3 (muxing) and tsmuxer crashes.
