I'm currently investigating this: seems recent Intel graphics drivers causing hang with some sources (determined Blu-Ray titles).

This affects both x264 H-SBS/H-TAB and MVC encodes on systems with recent Intel Graphics drivers using HW decoding.

I made new MVC Tools compilation with workaround to try to fix:

Replace MVCsource.dll, MVCenc.exe and MVCdec.exe on C:\Program Files (x86)\BDtoAVCHD folder and test if this fix your issues.

I swapped those files and simply reopened the program with that stuck job still in the queue. I hit start and so far it is running! It will be a while before I have a final answer but so far so good.

Woah.......the conversion completed and no more errors.

However, when I played the resulting file in the new, Windows "Movies and TV" program which is the default player in Win10, it pays as a single frame....as if it's not a TAB file at all.

So I open it in VLC and it plays with two frames as expected.

Wow.....

I will try it on my real, 3D TV later from Plex when I get home and let you know what I find.

EDIT: spoke to soon, it does work, but I left and came back and it hung about halfway through. Tried again now, it hung at 5%. Tried a 3rd time, appears to have completed successfully this time. Don't know why it random hangs though, does anyone else have this issue?

EDIT2: I tried doing another video that finally successfully encoded using hardware after about 6 tries. It just randomly hangs at various points through the encoding process. Is there any log or anything that I can check or paste here to figure out why it would do that?

So I tried making the intel graphics the default card in the system and still same issues. Then I put the monitor on the intel graphics and it encoded the first time so I thought problem solved. I tried again yesterday and it took two tries. I can't seem to find any rhyme or reason for it hanging randomly.

One other question I had. Not sure if I asked before, but I'm wondering why this can't go from the bluray straight to MKV with MVC? right now I compress with this took and then use makemkv to make the mkv. Is there some type of limitation or something I'm unaware of?

Rob, what does this mean? Are you trying to make a frame-packed 3D-MKV file instead of SBS/TAB?

Edit: Also a suggestion, is it possible to make the Gui not auto arrange the info for bitrate and such? everytime you change one little thing, it messes with the bitrate, example, I set target bitrate to 20000 and then I set the other things and more times than not by the time I add it to the project it has rearranged the bit rate.

I want to uncrop a MKV file and convert it to m2ts with high bitrates (28500 Kbps for BD25).
The MKV bitrate is around 9900 Kbps. The message "Not need to recode video" is present (9900 < 28500)
The uncrop process needs recoding...How may I solve this?

You're doing something wrong or meaningless:

If the input is an MKV this message never appears because always is recoded.

If you want to convert a MKV, open MKV directly (do not use a preprocessed m2ts or otherwise).

If this message appears is because your source is already an M2TS or AVCHD and you intend to re-encode it with a higher bitrate than the "original" (makes no sense).

do you intend to add ability to process multiple subtitle tracks when creating m2ts? It'll be fine
It is now needed to do post processing with tsMuxer to include one additional subtitle track and to use a small program (CorrectBD) if it is required to force one track (tsMuxer erases forcing)

ok got a subtitle problem. if I select English subtitles from the settings menu then do a recode using untouched I don't get any English subtitles in the end result that work apart from the forced ones. ive tried several BD's with the same result. ive checked the original and can see bdtoavchd is selecting the correct subtitle set and its present in the output. but media player home cinema displays nothing when selecting the subtitle stream.

that's what I used to begin with. is it because bdtoavc is trying to put more than one sub track in the output? I heard something about this not working?

this seems a fairly fundamental bug. so how do I get round it? otherwise ill have to go back to using ripbot.

only setting ive changed is to create a custom size and set subs to English.

then when I encode I select untouched for subs and sound.

result nice encoded avchd with no subs, but the players are reporting there is a sub track.

same disc with ripbot result mkv with subs.

if I select mkv remux the que says it will use 4608, which is the correct sub track.

if I select bd-25 or anything else it selects 4618 which I think is the forced subs.

so why is it selecting the wrong subs?

if I scan the bitrates before adding the job it selects the 4618 sub track which is wrong.
if I don't scan bitrates it selects the 4608 track which is correct.

Unfortunately, its been my experience that it doesn't do this correctly, it comes up with crazy bitrates and I always have to set it manually, I'm trying another in a second so I will test again.

Last night I did one, set to AVC9 and it was trying to set the bitrate to like 64000 or something, I manually changed it to 20000.

It doesn't necessarily know which sub to pick, I scan bitrates to find if I have any forced subs, otherwise I pick the track I want manually.

Legend of Tarzan 3D: anyone able to rip it to TAB/SBS-MKV?

I ripped it (AnyDVD-HD) and the video is fine, but the audio is all choppy. I don't know if this is Cinavia or not, but I am willing to follow someone's lead if they have gotten past this.

UPDATE: I got the choppy audio using VLC as a player, but it seems to be playing OK in Plex. More testing is in order. Perhaps it is related to the audio track "ripped" in BDtoAVCHD? I thought that if I chose "untouched" it would keep all audio options in the MKV? Is that not how it works?

Is it possible to be able to read the BD from iso format since we can't extract the 3d info from MVC MKV's from Makemkv? I have been extracting but aside from taking awhile and taking up space, it doesn't always extract correctly. I tried a movie a few days ago and no matter what the extraction from iso wouldn't work. Makemkv nor this program would work on the extracted files yet makemkv worked perfectly on the iso but of course that means I'm limited to just eliminating some of the titles rather than compressing it to a reasonable size.

Actually got a reply in the AnyDVD forum about this because I originally thought perhaps it was some sort of copy protection. They said that VLC has a known issue with Atmos 7.1 audio which apparently this movie has.

I haven't had a chance to actually watch the movie yet, but I will in Plex. If it works fine there I'll chalk it up to the VLC limitation.

Awesome, thank you so much, I was extracting all the iso's, hopefully this works better. I had no option to mount as the file associations were going to win rar or win iso.

okay, I will try that later, right now I renamed the folder as you had mentioned previously to see if it will do it in software encoding, started last night before bed and about 2 hours left. For obvious reasons I'd rather have hardware encoding. I don't have the mvcenc log but I believe its always blank. The other log I posted is the only thing that ever has anything in it.

Paste below, BTW, software completed successfully although took 12 hours. Before when this was a problem, the HW encoding would hang. Now at some point after I leave it hardware encoding I come back and the CMD window is closed (I always check debugging mode so I can see whats going on) and it just says failed in the display.

Previous 4501 -> deadlocks
Previous 4463 -> hangs (however I have implemented a workaround for it and works well with BDtoAVCHD)

Intel says next week come out 4531 driver that fix 4530 memory leak ;)

Thank you, as I said it did work before so that makes perfect sense, although with the old driver and work around, it still only made it through a third of the time, but that was certainly better than 12 hours. Please keep us informed of the situation. I am watching movies tonight so not going to mess with the driver when I finally have it perfect right now, but I'll install the new driver so I don't have to wait 12 hours to finish a file. Quite frustrating when I finished Avatar 12 hours later to find out I had the wrong subs. :( Anyway, Thank you for this excellent piece of software.

I keep getting the below source file seems to be damaged, do you know how I can work around that? Its strange because this is the same disc I encoded last night for 12 hours on software, I'm trying to do again because I picked the wrong subtitles. I also converted this disc to mkv with makemkv and watched it tonight so I know its good.
