Some background about new HW acceleration:

Is based on Intel Media SDK 2013 R2 and because this only Intel Graphics are supported but...
this not implicate that all systems with dedicated ATI (AMD) / NVIDIA graphics card are excluded.

Since I'm not sure about all possible combinations, in same system previously utilized for development I realized this test:

- I installed dedicated graphics card (ASUS Radeon HD7870)
- In BIOS setup I activated new card as primary device
- I attached DVI monitor to new ASUS Radeon card
- Power on
- Installed AMD drivers
- Now in Windows Device Manager appears two graphics adapters

- And effectively, Intel Graphics is NOT used to display desktop but is available for HW acceleration:

However, not all motherboards support activate two display adapters at same time but for sure in ASUS P8Z77-V it's possible. :)

Could you add poss. to for mkv crf select also another audio not only 1 ?

using 1.9.4 founded that for mkv crf when i ve got as source bd 3d and for example choose SBS and not select subtitle, that when i add job he as for forced subtitle and when i click yes he add it (mkv crf) but not SBS but TAD :(

using 1.9.5 i didnt see diff when i choose in settings use opencl
in 1.9.4 i saw diff :)

This solution is very restricted, via Cuda many more people could enjoy.
I wanted to test my i7 4770K, and despite my motherboard support, do not want to have two drivers installed, and my GTX650 TI inactive in this case.:(

If you do not want to use HW acceleration, because you do not want to install Intel Graphics dirvers you can continue to use a good SW acceleration :)

The Intel drivers are stable as a rock. And no need to use the Intel Graphics to the monitor.

Since a few days I'm working on a new version that introduces some significant changes in order to improve the user experience and the usability of the program in addition to various improvements and better support for Windows 8/8.1.

At first it was going to be version 2.0.0 directly but due to internal changes of importance, I prefer first to launch a beta version so can be tested a bit before the final release. Anyway is well advanced and it will not be significant changes if everything works fine.

These are the principal changes:

Updated the runtime libraries to better Windows 8.1 support.
Improved GUI appearance and fixes some controls in Windows 8/8.1.
Improvements in the installer.
Improved notification and automatic download of new versions. It’s less intrusive and allows to postpone the download later.
Should fix (rare) crashes reported by some users in Windows 7 64-bit (pending to confirm).
Integrated "Intel Media SDK System Analyzer" tool in the Help menu. (Shows system compatibility with Intel Quick Sync Video acceleration and information about graphics drivers installed)

Changes from v1.9.6

No more "hardcoded" default paths. Now default output folder is current user profile folder (e.g. C:\Users\user_name\BDtoAVCHD) and default temp folder is current user TEMP environment variable (e.g. C:\Users\user_name\AppData\Local\Temp\BDtoAVCHD)
Removed unnecessary debug code and clean-up. Executable file size reduced.

Users using the previous beta will receive a notification to update this version ;)

I think this change only made the hardest setting for less experienced users.

But assuming (as you do not say anything more) you have a Blu-Ray at 1080p, you can get a 720p MKV cropped, 720p MKV uncropped, 1080p MKV cropped and 1080p MKV uncropped.

If you want to do something else, (maybe) not possible. And (maybe) make no sense.

Version 2.1.0 (01/24/2014)

New: Output mode 2D+3D .ISO (BD Remux) if input is a 3D Blu-Ray. Can also determine if there is enough space on a BD-25 without recompress the video.
New: 3D button on main window for selecting the 3D output mode for the current conversion (2D/SBS/TAB/2D+3D .ISO). Appears only if the input is a 3D Blu-Ray.
Improved: Scan Bitrates function scans .ssif files in 3D Blu-Ray.
Improved: MVC/AVC eye assignation (left-right) is shown also in source proprieties (main window).
Improved: removed Haali Matroska Muxer of the installation package as it is not needed anymore. In some conversions that required to create a temporary MKV, now an alternate/more direct method is used.
x264 updated to revision r2389.
Mkvmerge updated to version 6.7.0
Added tsMuxeR version 2.6.12

I don't know why you didn't understand me!! I meant if i want to encode Untouched BluRay to 720p mkv, you didn't put any options on your software which is auto crop,yes you're right when i want to encode to 1080p mkv it has,but for 720p it doesn't have Auto crop!!

As I have said several times, yes!. You can get a 720p mkv (cropped or uncropped). With the options that are already present.

Side note: Personally, I think cropping mkv is useless. If you see it on TV will see equally black bands. Also do not save on file size. But that's just my opinion...

EDIT: In the example I used as a source an MKV that was already cropped (height = 816) and so the final value is only 552 pixels. But it is not relevant, the fact is that it works perfectly.

EDIT:
"Auto crop" is not perfect and can happen you get a rip with no exact resolution you should be. This is more manually, but more accurate and does not require Avisynth.

Also I put in "Advanced Options" for something... assumes that the user wants, knows his stuff...

Anyway I have already expressed my views on the usefulness of cropping...

Choose the same value of Aspect Ratio:

not a good solution cause I've seen tons of movies with the wrong
aspect ratio stated on the box (even if just 1.78 vs 1.85 or 2.35 vs 2.40). imdb is hardly an indication either cause that's purely for theatrical screenings and isn't always the same in final retail release. further more different aspect ratios can be used in different countries. Also there are variables within the standard/popular aspect rations. Can be 2.38 or 2.32. Fine crop is needed always. Preferably manual crop but some auto crop tools are pretty close too.

Your build in options do not include 1.33, 1.37, 1.66 for example.

It's popular to think black borders don't take much "space" but it's not entirely true.

Short Note: If you installed the latest two versions of BDto AVCHD, BD Rebuilder does not work anymore. BDRebuilder no longer encodet a video and aborts. I have tested on WinXP 32bit and Win7 64bit. Only when you uninstalled BDtoAVCHD and BDtoAVCHD version 2.0.0 installed the BDRebuilder working again.

Well, do not want this to cause misunderstandings. BDtoAVCHD not interfere with the operation of BD Rebuilder and there is no problem for the two programs coexist.

What happens is that the last (two) versions of BDtoAVCHD does not included Haali Splitter in the installer and therefore if someone needs it (for something else), must download and install on your own part.

Before, installing BDtoAVCHD also installed Haali Splitter. Not anymore.

BD Rebuilder users all they have to do is follow the instructions and install Haali Splitter as required.

Install an earlier version of BDtoAVCHD logically is not the solution :)

Also sorry for my bad English :o

just one thing i would like to know before i try it .....everybody knows that panisonic blu-ray/avchd players are very prickly when it comes to playing disks. multiavchd has a "strict" option for panisonic. how dos this program do on a panisonic??
anybody tried it??

I cannot talk about Panasonic players because I have none but I can say that so far nobody has reported incompatibilities with any Blu-Ray/AVCHD player...

But if you try it yourself you'll know better :p

Great application and its working just fine. But I have a few thing I would like to add.

1) Scan bitrate, if closing it the bitrate will stay on the last value of the scan... what is the point in that ?
2) Wouldnt it be better to add the Scan bitrate as part of the encoding job, you know the estimated bitrate before adding it to the queue, so have the scan bitrate as part of the job would just adjust the bitrate to fit the media better.
3) Added an option to select more then one audio track. Ex. disney movies where you want to keep the English track and your native one. Ex. English and Danish. The same goes for the subtitles, but less importen.
4) The output field, why isnt there a button to open a save dialog and choose where to save the end file. I know there is a IMDB that would set a name. Just my 2 cent.

Except from the above, I think you did a very good job. Keep it up. :)

I think I went too fast on concluding it was working fine. I'm converting 3D Bluray -> 3D Bluray (BD25) and I have serious pixelation on my right eye. (no its not in my head). If I close the left eye with my passiv glasses on (LG TV). I see lots of pixelation in the image, if I close my right eye and only see the 2D image with my Left eye there isnt any pixelation at all. So maybe there is an issue with MVCenc application used ?

I tried to cut out 20 min from the original BD ISO file with tsmuxer and created a Bluray ISO and burned it on a BD25 and it dosnt have any issue with pixelation, so its not related to medie or player.

I tried 2 movies (Croods 3D and Thor 3D).

Thanks for reporting. MVC encoder feature was added in latest version and therefore bugs can happen.

Can you tell what brand/model of Blu-Ray player are using?

I'll try to reproduce and fix.

Seems that pixelation reported by GZZ finally is not a player compatibility issue but a HW acceleration problem in certain system/drivers configuration.

Seems MVCenc.exe produces bad files in certain environments. Update Intel Graphics Drivers maybe can fix or (as last resort) not using HW acceleration and use SW implementation.

To force disable HW acceleration an easy method is renaming Intel Media SDK path located at:

C:\Program Files\Intel\Media SDK

to something e.g. C:\Program Files\Intel\Media SDK_disabled

I’m pending to do more tests with GZZ to confirm this...

Using Version 2.1.2 im trying The Avengers 3D to BDREMUX keep forced subs only (in this case a forced track English), the result is subs included but not set to forced so I must turn on manually.. I don't think I had this problem with my 2D backups but will have to go back through and check them. this might be recent bug with 3D forced subs only?

and thanks for the GREAT program, please keep up the good work. maybe a ad free with donation choice ...

Yes, it’s a bug that affects 3D forced subs only.

Really it's not a bug, it's a "limitation" because new tsMuxeR versions not support flag subtitle track as forced in MovieObject.bdmv and because ISO image is generated it's not possible patch MovieObject for include this flag (this is what is done in 2D).

I am having great luck using this to make SBS 3D MKV's.

1. Has anyone used this on Avatar 3D? It is failing on me (I think) during the second step.

2. How are you adding the signal to tell the TV to automatically go into 3d mode? I have a few other MKVs that are side by side. I tried using the header editor in MKVMerge GUI to add the "Video Stereo Mode" to the correct integer, but my TV is not automatically changing for these other MKV's I created (outside your program). I would like to figure out how to make them work just like your MKVs. Any ideas?

thanks for the update...iv got a couple of issues.
iv converted a mkv file to avchd.burned to dvd-r.when i put in the disc it gos straight to m2ts file on the display.if i select the file it plays. shouldt it auto play??.
but the biggest issue is the chapters.there is none.i cant skip through the disc??. if i try to skip it just displays "this option is not available"

Seems a burning disk issue: most probably disk is burned as data mode instead of AVCHD mode (UDF 2.50 file format). I recommend you use ImgBurn software.

I do use image burn. udf 2.50 setting.i usually create a iso and mount it to test with TotalMedia Theatre 6. I seem to have chapters when I test it.but when burned I cant skip..strange.
