This is just an idea. The default MaxGOP size = 10 x Output FPS. Default now is 250 which is about 10 seconds for 25fps video or tiny more for 24fps. But for 30 fps 10 seconds scene change would be 300 frames, right?

Yes, that is what most encoders use.
But for 30 fps 10 seconds scene change would be 300 frames, right?
Max GOP doesn't mean there is a scene change. Max GOP size is more like: If there hasn't been a key frame because of a scene change for X frames, force a key frame to ensure better navigation inside the clip. If you don't care much about navigation inside your content using larger GOP sizes and/or OpenGOP will probably yield better compressibility.

Hi Selur,
is there a way to specify a new length for an audio file (for example from 1:00:04 to 1:02:07), instead of changing its framerate ?
Selur
9th February 2015, 18:01
Not atm. :) (btw. it's not changing a frame rate it's giving a fraction, the frame rates are just there since most people know the want to stretch from-to a frame rate)
Music Fan
12th February 2015, 15:56
Ok. Thus actually one could specify a fraction that would work as a percentage calculated from the original and destination durations ? If the new duration represents 2,34 % over the original, one could put 10234 and 10000 (or something like that) in boxes from and to beside speed change, right ?

Yes. :)

for x264: only if there is a chance that your encoding will actually use one of those otherwise left out quantizers.
for x265: how do you plan to do that? (afaik there is no option to change the min/max quantizer)

Add a button to cancel scanning for "Auto crop" mode.
I can not reduce the value of "Curve compression" to zero (min threshold 50 at x265).
Click "Remove all" during encoding, this leads to the purification of the list and stop encoding, but the progress bar does not clear from the information (green stripe and percentages hang).

Yes. :)
Ok. If you have time, could you add the possibility to change sound's duration with original and desired durations (instead of fps or fraction) to simplify the process ?
I mean as an optional extra, I don't ask you to remove the change by fps of course.

Add a button to cancel scanning for "Auto crop" mode.
Configure 'Auto Crop' through 'Crop/Resize->Advanced Auto Crop Options' to analyze less/other frames instead.

Or do you mean x265s latest release? (Hybrid should already support everything that is included in the 1.5 release)

a. What does the error message say. There shouldn't be an error message.
b. QSVEnc might require more up-to-date Intel drivers.

make sure you got a aac encoder which support AAC encoding (Hybrid supports Nero AAC, Qaac, FHG, FDK), see: *hidden* Hybrid options,... (http://forum.selur.de/topic33-hidden-hybrid-options.html)->Additional aac encoders
enable Audio->Main->Reencode
set "Audio->Main->Audio Encoding Options->Audio format" to 'aac'
select the aac audio encoder you want "Audio->Main->Audio Encoding Options->Nero AAC/Qaac/FHG/FDK"
select "Audio->Main->Audio Encoding Options->Audio format->aac" + 'high efficency"
select "Audio->Main->Filtering"
set "Audio->Main->Audio Filtering->Downmix" to one of the 'toStereo ...' modes
add your audio stream to the audio queue

@Music Fan:you PM storage is full -> the verison.txt and the dll belong to the avisynth extension so if you disabled the avisynth extension those two files are not needed.
@Gravitator: looked into NVEncC and support for it will have to wait a bit since I don't own a graphic card which supports H.265 encoding through it. It requires a Maxwell NVIDIA cards iirc. and since my current Geforce GTX 660ti is working fine and will probably be enough for me for the next few month I doubt that NVEncC H.265 support will come anytime soon.
(tried to test NVEnC on my 660 ti, but it caused my whole system to crash!)

Using this software couple of days. It's really quite satisfactory. Still have some question.
1. If I give target file size But the output filesize did not get properly. for example If I input target size 700mb after encode output size I get 745 or 746Mb. So How Do I get actual output file size like 700MB or 800MB.
2. How do I create sample file from my encoding setting before full size encoding.
Selur

regarding 1.: details -> no clue how to answer, only general tip: "use 2pass encoding" if the encoder supports it + don't use vp8 or vp9 if you want to hit a file size
regarding 2.: you can enable the cut support if you only want to encode a part of your source (Config->Internals->Cut Support))

To use NVencc exe, you need to have the NVidia drivers 347.09 or later installed. It will hang with any older drivers.
Try to use "NVencc --help" and "NVencc --check-hw" and "NVEncC --check-features".
It will do only h264 encoding by ASIC on your Keppler, because your card doesn't have a hardware H265 encoder. The newer GM220 based cards can also do H265 encoding
Just fwiw, it works fine on my GTX 680 (347.25 drivers), which has the same hardware encoder as your 650ti : around 100fps (!) for 1080p encoding with only about 10% CPU load !
"NVencc --check-features" gives me :

Hello, sorry for my bad english.
Thanks you Selur ! the dream come true ! all the stuff i needed :)
I don't want to offend you but to be honest, it's probably the worst design i ever seen
For better readability i suggest to use some human standards (size, color, font type, icons, align), at least you tried with some icons but they are so ugly :/ i like only the Paypal button :p
Readability (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Readability) and Ergonomics (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_factors_and_ergonomics) are scientific disciplines, it's not easy and require a lot of time. So i can't blame you.

example, imagine this is tabs:

What I would really like in design/usability of Hybrid is an ability to text-edit the Current output file!
Because for now you can either Generate it or manually click on button to the right and write full name. While in my dreams I can check and then uncheck box "Generate" for auto filling up full video name and then just simply add text like 1, 2, x264, x265 etc when I want to encode one video couples times with different settings.
Because for now I have to use something like 0001, 0002, asdjf1 for any 2nd encode or browse for first encoded file in small explorer window, click it and then add text at the end.
P.S. Could you tell me again how to trim in Hybrid?:) I remember that you disabled multiple trimcuts and left just 1 but I can't find where it is.
Selur
3rd March 2015, 06:27
I remember that you disabled multiple trimcuts and left just 1 but I can't find where it is.
There never was an option which allowed multiple cuts, there only is and was the normal 'Cut Support'.
Cutting is still 'experimental', since it:
a. can't cope with vfr
b. doesn't cut subtitles
c. probably has some other downfalls.
To enable the 'Cut Support' as it is go to: Config->Internals->Cut Support (and remember to read the tool-tips).
About encoding one video multiple times:
- Don't really like the idea of either making the input or output line edit editable.
- I could probably add an option to add a timestamp to the current output as an additional 'Output filename Generation option', or something similar. (or add an option which adds the current 'video handling',....)
- Also you can already add texts like 1, 2, x264, x265 when 'Generate' is enabled, by changing the suffix in the 'Config->Output->Filename Generation->Output Filename Generation' options.
