View Full Version : Hybrid: Input -> x264/x265/Xvid/VP8/VP9
Autocrop is called with:
"D:\Extras\Programs\Hybrid\mplayer.exe" -noframedrop -speed 100 -quiet "D:\Extras\Downloads\MEN_IN_BLACK_II\BDMV\STREAM\00001.m2ts" -nosound -vo null -ao null -demuxer 35 -vfm ffmpeg -nosub -fps 23.976 -frames 100 -vf cropdetect=24:2 -sstep 10
and mplayer only outputs:
[CROP] Crop area: X: 0..1919 Y: 0..1079 (-vf crop=1920:1080:0:0).
for your source, so Hybrid assumes that there is no cropping needed,... sorry, but I have no idea why this does not work for you,.. tested it with some blu-ray content I have here and cropping worked fine,..

Selur, the thing is, I can't find what's wrong with my blurays. That's the thing. They are originals and perfectly ripped too.
Time will solve the case i guess. I tried another Bluray, same result mate. No cropping detected. But on the .mkv, perfectly done.
Except for this thing, I'm in love with the tool mate. With other encoding tools, It took like more than 24 hours to encode in Placebo, but Hybrid, maybe because of the x264 x64, only less than 12 hours.
Je suis tres content ! Thanks mate
I would like to help, but I'm totally confused about it, since I tried around 10 BD titles on two different machines (one win7 64bit the other winxp 32bit) both had no problem to preview&crop detect the content,.. :/
Hybrid rev. 2012.05.08.1:
*fixed*
audio: extraction audio from .avi with mplayer
audio: added '-strict experimantal' to the ffmpeg aac encoding calls (mac only)
audio: crash on rename call after reencoding/extration
audio: problem when fhgaacenc was enabled but not aac encoding
tools: delaycut version detection fixed
automation: autocrop and subtitle passthrough interfered,..
muxing: mkvmerge does not support 'iw' as language, added workaround to change 'iw' to 'he'
muxing: accidentally frame count made it's way into the fps options,..
avisynth: changing qtgmc->bob didn't change the displayer lables (encoding was fine -> just a cosmetic bug)
handling: handling of vfr mkv/mp4 files (remember to enable: 'Config->Automation->Matroska Settings->Scan for streched streams' and 'Config->Input settings->General settings->Always extract timecodes from mp4/mkv/ files' for vfr handling)
*added*
input: option to filter out unwanted content by extension (files with the specified extensions will be ignored)
input: drag&drop now accepts folders (in File input mode) and will also search through all sub-folder for content
*changed*
analysis: speed up interlaced analysis by adding lavthreads
package: switching to an older mplayer/mencoder build since latest builds cause problems (windows only)

me, too. :) All the code is still there but enabling it while the output frame rate will be would only cause to much trouble,.. (sadly no update in the bug-tracker regarding the problem: http://ffmpeg.org/trac/ffmpeg/ticket/978)

Hybrid rev 2012.05.10.1:
*fixed*
audio: ac3 sample rate/channel count/bitrate combinations, before some non-valid combinations were offered.
analysis: automation - subtitle extraction + interlaced check could cause to Hybrid to stay grayed out
subs: Hybrid now automatically creates necessary mplayer/fontconfig files; otherwise subtitle preview and embedding does not work (mac only)
muxing: timecode handling for vfr->vfr
*changed*
analysis: speed up interlaced analysis by adding lavthreads
*added*
input: option to specify which files Hybrid will support as input (by extension)

Thanks for the updates selur,
what's the option and where to find, Output the encode in the same input directory.
I did it and but when I select another source, the output directory isn't changing but still the last output directory is seen

What's this error mate?

without a debug output, hard to say, but it seems like x264 crashed and didn't create a proper output file,...

Tried the update.
And I found an interesting thing, check this :]

The Bitrate and SpeeUp aren't detected.
Selur
16th May 2012, 18:03
that's normal :)
SpeedUp is always ? or a specific value if there is a speedUp
bitrate is only detected if MediaInfo detects it,...

-> does the update work or not?

I forgot to get the debug report though. But it's the same error. 264 is too small

you mentioned 'The second said that there's some syntax or command error. '
What does it say exactly please copy&paste the content of the output and post it or send it to me via pm,...

Selur, I think that I did something wrong in selecting the m2ts file from the playlist. I'll trying again now. Will report if something happens.
One more thing, can't select the largest file in the Stream folder and then get the file list mate? that would be easy, because, in the playlist, I see similar files and like alot. So, mistakenly I selected the wrong file to import. That could've been the reason for the above problem.
Selur
17th May 2012, 07:33
One more thing, can't select the largest file in the Stream folder and then get the file list mate?
Why should selecting a file result in a file list?
Blu-ray have extra Playlist files which contain informations regarding which files to playback in which order,...
If you select a single file Hybrid will only open this one file.
If you select the Blu-ray folder in Blu-ray mode Hybrid will show you a selection of all the playlists where you can choose which one you want.
If you select a single playlist file, Hybrid will open the files linked in that playlist, in the order mentioned in the playlist.
So, mistakenly I selected the wrong file to import. That could've been the reason for the above problem.
Like I said please post or pm me the output of the mencoder call,..

Selur

Still get that error mate.
Sure it's the same error? Im mean it did work when I looked at it with teamviewer,.. does it crash directly at the start of the x264 encoding path ? -> if you send me a debug output of the job that is failing, I will look at it,..

Selur, umm, I am encoding a movie in CRF 20, 10Bit and slow preset.
It's taking like 17hours for vid only. Umm, that possible.
Because, in 8Bit, very slow preset, the encoding was only 5 hours
Selur
20th May 2012, 10:10
Yes, 10bit is slower than 8bit encoding, but afaik you didn't use preset 'very slow', you just selected it, but did not apply it, so to be fair you should appy the medium preset. ;)
meshaun
20th May 2012, 10:11
used only "Slower" not the very slow. But this much of time? 5 vs 17 hours? is the quality worth it mate?
Selur
20th May 2012, 10:13
depends on what you are encoding,.. 10bit has no problems with banding like 8bit does + it provides better quality,.. -> it's your choice :)
meshaun
20th May 2012, 10:15
CRF Medium in 10Bit will give more quality than 2pass 8Bit very slow? can we compare like that ?
your idea mate.
Selur
20th May 2012, 10:20
crf and 2pass aim for different things.
Use crf if you want a specific 'quality level' (crf 16-22 is normally fine for most people; most stick with 18).
Use 2pass if you aim for a specific average bitrate or specific file size.
-> you can't really compare these two since they aim for different things
if crf&2pass use otherwise the same settings and the output size is the same, the quality will be the same,..
If size is not really a concern stick with crf 18.

Hybrid rev. 2012.05.20.1:
*fixed*
input: auto crop detection not working properly on transport stream containers
preview: audio got disabled after "Filter View" was triggered the 1st time
automation: rewrote a lot of code to handle the interactions of 'auto crop', 'pass-through subtitle', 'auto interlaced check'
input: stream selection didn't work properly for multiple video input files
input: better handling or blu-ray input and multi video input files
muxing: problem with mov muxing (on Mac OS X)
*added*
outputPath and temPath variables are now read from .ini if present
*changed*
deinterlace: auto deinterlacing will only change the deinterlaced if the content is detected as interlaced and the deinterlacer is ment for IVTC or the content is telecine and the deinterlacer is ment for deinterlacing.
output: avi output is allowed again, as a workaround to the ffmpeg bug, I'm trying to avoid to mux raw MPEG-4 ASP to .avi; Warning: if you use Hybrid to multiplex raw MPEG-4 ASP video into an .avi file, the output container flags will be wrong.

Selur where to set the priority?
Selur
20th May 2012, 15:53
Which priority?
in settings where? low, normal, high coder options?
Selur
20th May 2012, 16:42
I don't know which priority you are speaking of. Assuming you mean the process priority decoders and encoders run in: Hybrid automatically sets everything to the lowest priority (idle / nice -n 19) and does not offer an option to change this. (Mainly because I see no good reason why one would want to,...)

New version coming up with the new release of x264?
Selur
23rd May 2012, 15:48
1st I need to read the changelog and figure out what has changed,... -> you can use the latest version with Hybrid, just download it from x264.nl and copy it into you Hybrid folder. (you need to rename the 10bit version to x264-10bit.exe before copying it to the Hybrid older)
