"DVD Rebuilder experienced a buffer overflow. Error #0004. Process must abort."
In my personal experiences errors like 000x are sometimes caused if you try to use the newest beta of avisynth instead of 2.54. If you get a similiar message try switching version of avisynth.

Not really. 3 backups tested, this error popped on 2 of them. Dvd-rb .31+(CCE/QuEnc)+Avisynth 2.54.

Has anybody had trouble with the audio using Rejig with DVD-RB? 2 times already I tested the movie on my pc and it didnt have an audio source in Power DVD. I didnt test it in the player cause i dont want to waste a DVD.

I reinstalled avisynth 2.54 and Im still etting this error. I made a successful backup 2 days ago with Panic Room and rejig. Im trying Scent of a Woman and keep getting this same error always halfway through the rebuilding phase. :confused:

Correct me if I'm wrong but Avisynth is NOT used during the Rebuild part...but only during the encoding part...so it can't be Avisynth !!!!

Actually I had the same error, and I found it was because decomb.dll in the avisynth\plugins folder got corrupt during a previous "random reboot" .. what happened as a result was my deinterlaced m2v's weren't getting deinterlaced, they only had an avisynth error message imbedded in them; after putting a good version of decomb.dll in that folder, i reprocessed the dvd and voila, that problem was squashed.

I put a fresh copy of decomb.dll in the plugins folder. Im still getting the error.
Now its "DVD Rebuilder experienced a buffer overflow. Error #0003. stop statement encountered."
I was getting a error #0004 now it changed to #0003.

Oldeman: could you try without touching anything in the original? It would be most interesting to see if the error is cause of the butchering.

System AMD 750, 256Mb, Win98SE I wish I could make these damn Runtime '9' errors go away. I think I may have "Tora Tora Tora" -- I'll run downstairs and check... isn't it pitiful when you buy so many DVDs that you can't even remember which ones you own?

If it were up to the MPAA, they'd include De-Neuralizer(tm) protection that zaps you when the movie ends so you dont remember anything of it, and as you leave the theater a guy hands out fliers for the same movie and you go "hey I'd like to see this one!".

Yes, but it's fun when you find one you forgot you bought. It's like a present you give yourself. :) I hope that's what Alzheimer's is like.

DVDRB .33
EclCCE 1.7
CCE 2.67
Matrix 3
All three phases completed with no errors. I attempted to burn with Nero and got reallocation failed error. I then ran the files through IfoEdit get vts sectors and it made corrections. Tried again to burn with Nero but still got the reallocation error.
Next I ran the dvdrb output thru DvdShrink with no compression set. I ran Ifoedit on the resulting output from DvdShrink and it corrected a couple of sectors. I tried Nero again and did not receive the reallocation error. The burn went fine and the movie seems to play perfect.
@jdobbs
I have the ifo's from the dvdrb/ifoedit output and the dvdrb/dvdshrink/ifoedit output in case you want to look at them.

Kind of uneventful.. just finished Alias Season 1 (Disk 2) and it rebuilt no problems. Looks good in PowerDVD, all navigation, etc seems to be working fine. Doing Disc 3 now then Ill test in my standalones.
Great job JDobbs :)

With the new version DVDRB .33 does anyone have problems selecting the paths to things like quenc and MPEG2Dec3dg.dll under setup? The first time I selected either path the program froze, and when I went back into it the path that it froze on was filled in with what I selected. I can still get it the run but this is the first time it has froze when making selections in setup. Thanks for your hard work everyone!

So should I have just removed the 0byte VOB that dvdrb created too, or would I have been ok just to ignore the reallocation error? I'm a little lost now:confused:

I think you can just delete the 0byte file in nero in the VIDEO_TS (inside nero itself in the dvd video template) dir, and apparently DVDShrink also removes such files when you run stuff through it.
dvd-rb copies small files over as-is and so copies a 0byte file too (perhaps something for jdobbs could fix if it doesnt hurt the allocation).

I'm no expert but I deleted it in the nero template and it didnt hurt me on two diff players. Allocation might go beyond the file size, as the file table still has bytes reserved for the file even though it's 0 bytes.

Yeah, but it doesn't figure in any of the offset calculations that are in the IFOs... I don't think it makes any difference, the question is: Why are they there on the original? Authoring requirements?
Joergen
11th April 2004, 04:27
More likely an authoring error. I think it was the video_ts.vob on the R2 version and there's no need for it is there in the standard?
Well 0 isnt a multiple of (insertrequirementhere) so its breaking the standard in itself.

FYI, I did Tora Tora Tora a week or two ago (with an earlier dvdrb version obviously) and had no errors. In fact I haven't had a runtime 9 error yet but I haven't done that many disks.

First of all thaks for the tool jdobbs.I've been using DVD2DVD-R for all my movies that require heavy compression,but not re-encoding them with CCE but MainConcept Encoder 1.4.2 & Canopus ProCoder Express.Your tool made me to download the demo version of CCE.
Now the question:
Is it just me or everyone has to edit the ecl file created from DVD-RB.Even if I set it to 3 VBR passes the ecl says 2.I'm using DVD-RB v0.33 on movie Titanic.I believe the DVD-RB sets the correct bitrate in the ecl file so the movie can fit on DVD-R no undersizing, right?
Also I'm using EclCCE v1.8 as suggested in the read me file.
Please can you support MainConcept Encoder & Canopus ProCoder in your tool?
THX. again
Keep up the good work

I deleted the 0 bytes files and it worked fine in Nero. The Nero error is that the 2_0.VOB is not referenced in the ifo's.
It does seem to be bad authoring for a commercial DVD.

This has been covered many times. DVD-RB uses the VAF encode as the first pass.

Is it normal for 0.33 to take 20 - 25% processor time?
I am doing a 4:3 -> 16:9 Conversion.

I am doing a 4:3 -> 16:9 Conversion. No. On my system when running CCE, DVD-RB uses 1-2% of the processor. My guess would be that CCE is set to run at a lower priority. I don't think I've looked at it specifically while doing a 16:9 conversion, though -- but any processing associated with that really should show as part of the CCE conversion.

I Used dvd rebuilder 0.33
1. DVD-R Version: Pal
2. Encoder being used: CCE 2.67
3. Using eclCCE? Y
4. The DVD has 5 audio channels:
-English
-German
-French
-Spanish
-Italian
I chosed to keep only English and Italian audios
After encoding everything the result was a DVD with only English and Spanish Audio.
If i select Italian audio on dvd playback i hear nothing.
Can you do anything? Thanx for the nice job anyway

i managed to solve the problem this time, but what if the next movie won't have spanish audio LOL?

CCE 2.50
I still have a stutter on Matrix Revolutions PAL. It is the beginning of the Trainman scene at chapter 4.
BTW, the original also sufferes on that scene. It doesn't stutter but chapter 3 and 4 looks badly edited together.

1. DVD-R Version: 0.33
2. Encoder being used: CCE 2.5
3. Using eclCCE? Y
4. Bug encountered: When using Half-D1 on SOME VTS sets, ALL cells in the Rebuilder.ecl get a Half-D1 setting (width=352). The .avs files are setup correctly, but this causes a data read error in CCE and an encoding failure.
Exact error message from CCE 2.5, in case others encounter it:
cce encoding failured: AVIStreamRead() failed() (0x80044074) Buffer is too small.
And then, this second one is due to the first part create a corrupt .vaf file:
vinfo_open() failed: Bad Data <C:\mypath\V01000000001001.vaf>
EDIT: added error messages

A lot of my DVDs seem to be coming out under size. I am using CCE 2.66, with ELCCE. I just did Once Upon A Time In Mexico and it came out to 4.32 GB. Isn't the capacity for DVD-+R 4.38 GB? DVD-R is slightly larger than +R, isn't it? I know that much space is negligible, but I'd still like it to max out the disc.
I know there is an option to specify size, but I'm not sure how to convert GB to sectors. Any help would be appreciated.

That is normal and to be expected. My ones are between 4.31 and 4.32GB. The max size is 4.36GB and is only 50MB more. That won't make any difference regarding video quality. It is better in the long run as the data won't be going to the edge. This can cause problems with some players/discs. I usually do 4.34GB.

Yeah that doesnt count for undersizing in my book.. and I'd rather be a few MB short than long (which is the other option)

I know there is an option to specify size, but I'm not sure how to convert GB to sectors. Any help would be appreciated. I'd rather keep the default where it is, but look in the README file and you'll see there is a parameter you can put in your REBUILDER.INI file that will change the target output size.
ADDED: If you want to see how many sectors your blank has available. Put it in a drive and open up DVD-DECRYPTER in ISO/Write mode. It should tell you "Free sectors" -- be careful, though -- it's easy to go over.

Sectors are converted:
1 Sector = 2048 bytes or 2K.
1 MegaByte = 512 sectors
1 Gigabyte = 1024 Megabytes or 1,073,741,824 bytes.
4.36GB = 4,681,514,352 bytes
4.36GB = 2,285,895 sectors (4,681,514,352 / 2048)

DVD_RB V.34
Noticed that if use the "check all" feature under "Audio to remove", then uncheck english, click done and then return to the Setup menu, the items that were checked are no longer checked. As if it is not saving the selections.
Also, when hovering over the DVD-RB.exe icon, it shows V.29 in the caption. Totally irrelevant.
Edit: Erm, I feel like an ass....maybe that's why the "save" button is there....(never noticed that before...)

thanx for a great prog Jerky as in "terribly annoying and can't watch it" like a field mismatch or jerky as in "when it pans or has lot of movement"...?

its like motion blur,there is a double image,might be a field problem.

I was in the middle of the process with v33 when I saw v34 come out. Not sure v34 would be any help with the picture stutter at chapters. Original plays fine. I have burned this onto a DVDRW to play on my standalone. I don't recall ever getting any other errors since v1X, except that I can't get rid of this stutter (kind of a freeze for a split second, then restarts). Anyway, keep up the good work. I'll try version 34 and hopefully, you've cracked this nut.
