I had the same problem. RealAnime doesn't like complicated names, try to rename you files like 01.avi first then try again, it will work.

Similar problems over here, not using RealAnime, but my little GUI RealHandy. Looks like the producer (tested with v. 10.0.0.74) doesn't like things like dots in the full filename (path+file) except the one in ".avi", and maybe neither any "&".
Log says something like:

,Informational,File Output,2004/03/02 00:06:40,7043,File K:\#vid\Kram\blah.blubb.com\Blah\Blah01.rm already exists. Archiving existing file to K:\#vid\Kram\blah.blubb.com\Blah\Blah01_arch001.rm. Writing new file to K:\#vid\Kram\blah.blubb.com/Blah/Blah01.rm.
,Error,File Output,2004/03/02 00:06:40,7050,RealMedia File Writer Plug-in IGNORE error with UserCode 8: Unable to rename "
,Error,File Output,2004/03/02 00:06:40,7050,RealMedia File Writer Plug-in IGNORE error with UserCode 1: Unable to move "file://K:/#vid/Kram/blah.blubb.com/Blah/Blah01.rm

Maybe producer.exe is looking for the first dot as file extension indicator instead of the last dot. (but this wouldn't explain the error in escobars case)

I'll do some testing later this day.

the problem is not the filename, but "&" in the full path. Producer will never encode a fie with "&" in it. Non US_ASCII will also fail.

Ex: Music&Stuff, K:\#vid\

Marcel
2nd March 2004, 15:46
Hm, looks like you're right, Sirber.
The funny thing is, Producer starts analysing the file k:\#vid\tr2cd2.avs, which imports k:\#vid\tr2cd2.avi (I'm a friend of the simple things;)). But it fails on renaming the file.
As further tests showed, I was wrong with my guess on first/last dot. k:\temp\www.test.com/An.rufbea.ntworter.mp3 has been encoded to k:\temp\www.test.com/An.rufbea.ntworter.ra without problems.

Sorry Siber for a dumb question
How about audio ?
i can drag&drop d2v/avs and ac3 or i must compile an avs like

mpeg2sorce(xxxx)
crop...
filters...
audiodub("yyyy.wav") <--- ???

Thanks for info

RealAnime was intended to batch recode AVIs. It does not support D2V/AC3, hum... AC3 maybe using DirectShow. You have to buils your own AVS. :(

YS RealAnime will support all this.

Ok
Thanks for info.
I will stay tuned (and hope for a quick release)

BTW, in YS RealAnime i must choose the bitrate or final size ? As far as i see only choice is bitrate

Just noticed that but, sometimes the very beginning of the encoded file has no audio, like you're missing the first line of the openings, it doesn't do it everytime but quite often (lets say 1/8).

Using HE-AAC 64kbps.

Does it have anything to do with realanime or am I just buggy somewhere else ?

Sirber

@buzzqw

You will be able to choose bitrate and filesize. BTW, RealAnime and YS RealAnime are different project.

@Lagoon

Never had any problem.

For some reason after re-installing realanime i don't get it to work anymore. Everytime after pressing the start encoding button (whether i try to encode avi/avs/etc) i get the following error:
http://tvlegends.net/realanime-error.jpg

Anyone have an idea why that is?

Sirber
22nd March 2004, 13:30
hum... uninstall realanime, go in program files and remove RealAnime folder, then reinstall.

methos
22nd March 2004, 13:46
i already did (re)install that way, the error still pops up and closes the program right after that.

Sirber
22nd March 2004, 14:12
Where did you install it? If the software crash when pressing "start", it's the API calls that cannot find producer.exe under App.Path & "\producer\producer.exe". The soft won't work if runned in the root of a drive, ex: E:\.

methos
22nd March 2004, 15:12
i tried, c:\program files,c:\,c:\multimedia, it doesn't matter. The same problem keeps popping up

Marcel
22nd March 2004, 15:25
~methos: Do you have full access privilegues on drive c:? As Google said, this might be a reason. But I doubt that you have that limited permissions on whole drive c:... Or is this disk simply full?

~Sirber: How did you address the problem with "#" and "&" in filenames? Or didn't you at all?

methos
22nd March 2004, 15:33
yes i have. As stated i am talking about a reinstall. It has run before without probs. And nothing that important has changed on my OS i think to generate this prob.

But YS RealAnime isn't... (though I didn't point at this, my question concerned both RealAnime and YS RealAnime)

Sirber
22nd March 2004, 17:18
YS might do something about it. I haven't coded this yet. I'm still in audio management :)

Wierd...

I got 298 hit for RealAnime 1.91 last month.
I got 84 his so far this month...
I got 26 hit for old YS RealAnime builds
I got 3 hit for the lastest CVS of YS RealAnime (7z)

Me and two other people eh? That's not exactly high traffic. You could look at it as people just shying away from unfinished software because they don't want to dash their grand hopes for a "final" release of YS RealAnime. :)

Or maybe they just don't like 7-Zip? :D

tiki4
8th July 2004, 09:10
I guess lots of people have WinRAR installed, but I'm not so sure about 7-Zip. Btw., I downloaded the last CVS as well this month :D

iwod

Actually the latest version show that WinRAR support 7zip extraction.

tiki4
8th July 2004, 13:56
Uh, just checked that, but only latest betas. Thanks for the info iwod, what I wanted to say was that more people know RAR is a compressed archive file IMHO. I guess the extension 7z is not as prominent (yet?).

I tried downloading it from your link: http://sirber.no-ip.com/~sirber/ys/YSRealAnime_CVS.7z

But it did not work. The server did not answer.

I moved recently to appartment. I left my parents :(. New ISP block port 80. Will be fixed next month with ADSL :)

Since YS is closed, I restarted good old RealAnime in Delphi this weekend. It's currently working and RC1 will be out tomorrow.

Sirber

RC1 is out. Check first post to get the URL.

Woot Woot!

RealAnime is back in fan's heart :D

So far this month:Top10 Hits % KB % KB File

Here is a little secret for nsis if you don't know it already.

SetCompressor lzma

It is 7zip. :D

Sirber
20th July 2004, 16:02
I use since RealAnime 1.50 IIRC :)

Warning: AVISynth + SDK is leaking memory like hell. RealAnime crashed with 2GB RAM uses. Gonna use AVISource next release instead of DirectShowSource.

Latexxx
20th July 2004, 19:28
Warning! :D
I just got Helix SDK's ActiveX plug to work in Delphi. Only some XML generation code left before my new GUI will be released. RealAnime will suffer a quick and painful death. :D :)

Ps. RealAnime 2 is nice.

Sirber
20th July 2004, 19:57
Good. What features will you have that I don't have? Quantik Queue Management? :p :D

Latexxx

I have everything what is needed in every day use and nothing besides it. :) You'll see.

Sirber
20th July 2004, 23:32
Does "every day use" include DVD ripping?

Hi,

Ooohhh, the gloves are off ! :D

Hmmm, can't wait to try out all these nice, shiny new GUI's. Actually, Sirber (or anyone else), I have a question: Is there a gui which allows you to encode with mono sound, at very low bitrates (e.g., 20 kbps)? I'm willing to sacrifice audio fidelity for picture quality (Perhaps someone with more experience could tell me whether the tradeoff is actually worth it - 800 to 900 kbps for video, 700 Mb, 1 1/2 to 2 hours (I have several to encode).

Also, just offhand, has anybody had syncing problems with .rmvb? I encoded an anime film with AutoRV10 (beta 5), and it played fine (this is using MPC) initially, but as soon as you try to seek, video/audio goes out of sync.

Thanks,
Victor

Sirber

If you play with audio menu, you have "Voice" and "Music".

Sirber
21st July 2004, 17:40
As you already know, AVISynth is leaking memory in DirectShow mode. It works #1 in AVISOurce mode. I'm gonna include in next release FFDSHOW to decode in VFW.

Ram uses for ~13 encodes:
VFW: 150MB
DShow: 2000MB

:(

Well, Avisynth scripts should be made using GKnot for the sake of aspect ratio so I don't include that kind of functionality. Here (http://www.kolumbus.fi/hahne/G/) is a little teaser made just for you. ;)

Sirber
21st July 2004, 23:01
woot woot :D a teaser :)

Just for the competition, I made RealAnime 2.00RC1 in less than 24h, including beer and sleep :D after I decided to close YS.

Sirber
22nd July 2004, 01:12
Planned features for RC2:

* Choose VFW or DirectShow for AVI
* More settings for DropDupe
* Error detection and recovery (for GUI)

[edit]

* the Add button :D

Latexxx
22nd July 2004, 15:09
Do you use SDK or ActiveX?

Sirber
22nd July 2004, 15:31
ActiveX (which comes from the SDK) :) I guess you can tell from the screens :p

Sirber
25th July 2004, 17:14

what could be the reason that an avi file encoded without avisynth goes well in easy rm producer and fails, it gives a 'acm failed to suggest a compatible pcm format' error, in realanime?

Sirber
25th July 2004, 21:01
By default, RealAnime uses VFW since AVISynth is leaking memory in DirectShow mode. Try to check "Use DirectShow" in Filtering tab. I think you're missing some codecs :)
