bou hou hou :( All my codes is being stoled from me :(
I don' want to break your mood, but almost all features you added are already in RealAnime 1.90 :D
Update:
* Can now hide, minimize the producer window (no focus stealing)
* Added 10 filters to "Custom filtering"
* Force DirectShow by default
ToDo:
* Scheduler (how do we spell that? )
* Logs manager (plus logging producer own debugging)

at the beginning i want only to disable 2 passes encoding ;-))
but since i want to make some vb code... i add some mods...
i will add some text for the soft
RealBatch by CodeThief
:-) ;-)

oh you force directshow by default?? and for the audio part??
i think if you use directshow you lose audio part...not??
for my part i will add drag and drop and that's all...
Sirber

Disabling 2-pass for CBR and VBR reduce quality, that's why ity was hardcoded 2-pass :). If you write my name somewhere, I have no problem with "RealBatch by CodeThief" :D
[edit]
DirectShowSource handle audio with AVISynth 2.5.3 :)

*** New release: v1.90 ***
This version have a lot of new features, and I haven't tested them all. This version is a test version, and once all bugs would be gone, I will release this version as "2.00 Gold Edition".
If you want a "stable" release, stick with 1.81.
The link is as usual in the first thread. :D
As usual, all comments and bug reports are welcome!

Bugs:
* While waiting, realanime don't check the scheduler for updates.
* Closing RealAnime while encoding cause some wierd errors.

1.90 won't encode at all for me.
Error is from the log :

File is a simple DivX 3.11 w/ MP3 audio.
Also an error in realanime log window :
"05:04:59 - Starting encoding!"
"05:04:59 - Starting G:\kstar_intro1.avi"

"05:05:00 - CTRL+C detected in first pass, aborting."
I can swear I didnt push CTRL+C :D
Weird no version is working at all now , maybe I did something wrong, dunno what though..
Edit : OK, reinstalled satsuki pack, and everything works again, PCs are weird sometimes..

in the future will there be an option to input different avs scripts for different files in the encodes list.. otherwise your goal to make a prog that can be used for batch encoding will be a bit limited...
Sirber
2nd February 2004, 13:04
Yep, RealAnime IS limited, that's why I started Srreal UI :)

When your soft available? ^^ I also want 1-pass only... ^_^
I try encode a short fast motion clip and I really don't notice too much difference with 1-pass vbr normal EHQ & 2-pass vbr high EHQ... but the former one is of course much much faster... Impatience people like me consider speed as an important factor. ^^
Sirber

I have room now for pass selection, I will add it and fix the scheduler bugs.

for "my" soft i will add the new version and the source on my website in a few hours

Sirber
2nd February 2004, 20:08
Hi
I'm adding your soft to my "mod" section. I will add pass selection, but it doesn't mean your soft is useless :)
damrod
2nd February 2004, 20:17
i see that on the first page ;-)
i have some ideas about some mods
i will try to clear them and make the code ...
damrod
2nd February 2004, 20:39

what is the reason for not keeping the last settings saved?

hum... is lazyness a good answer? :D
Sirber
3rd February 2004, 00:52
1.91 is coming... some bugfix...
Fixes:
* Scheduler -> average encoding time
New:
* Selectable 1/2 pass
* Save/Load filelist at load/exit (auto)
* Save/Load settings at load/exit (auto)
Please post all bugs you find before Wednesday. Thanks! :D
also, what do you like the most? INI or registry to save my stuff?
Lagoon
3rd February 2004, 01:34
I vote INIs :D
Sirber
3rd February 2004, 01:37
Registry is always loaded in RAM, and less accessible
INI is located on the hard disk, and easily tweakable
I vote INI also :)
[edit]
1.91 will be the lastest release for a while. I have other projects to work on, like Surreal UI, SIM (Sirber Instant Messenger), RealCam (Webcam Intrusion Detection) and my website, SirberHQ.
Surreal UI: RealAnime + DVD support + XviD + VP6
SIM: Basic IM + audio/video chat (JPEG and speex) with secure connection
RealCam: JPEG and/or AVI output (or RealVideo)
SirberHQ: PHP4/MySQL+InnoDB web portal, forum, bug tracking, etc.
[edit2]
RealAnime 1.91 will require DirectX 7. I added a small MIDI file in the about tab :D
Sirber

Coding RealAnime 1.91...
Now settings will be saved at exit and reloaded at start :D. This build will require DirectX 7 for a special feature ^^
damrod
4th February 2004, 11:30
i think about that also
i add a button to save settings as a rpad file...i can be usefull non?
i plan to add a button to load an audience file as settings source...
i modify the matroska muxer panel.. i'm not sure it was a good idea to modify it lol ;-)
i continue to debug some of my mods...
someone know the id for low priority process??
i have the ids for high, normal and idle but not low priority
btw i will add the correct_name functionnality (things like that : you add a file, the name contain an incorrect char -- you got a msgbox telling you the file has been renamed -- ant in the listpanel you have your renamed file.. something like that ;-))
datascab

Sirber,
Where does your program write the temp encoding file?
Thanks
Data
Sirber

@datascab
<paths audiences=".\audiences\" servers=".\servers\" tempDir="%TEMP%"/>
datascab
4th February 2004, 15:57
Thanks
I found it in c:\documents and settings\user1\local settings\temp
Just checking out potential file size, had some funny file sizes before discovering a colour space problem.

Why are you still coding this thing. If you want to get SurrealUI done, you need realize that RealAnime has no future. If you still continue developing RealAnime, you'll end up having all the features planned for Surreal UI in RealAnime.
Sirber
4th February 2004, 17:15
I know, 1.91 is a bug-fix version with some small enhencements. 1.91 will be the last for a while.
damrod
4th February 2004, 20:30
it's me who continue?? :-p
for me it's simple
divx/xvid => avs + vdub + vdubmod/matroska muxer
rv9/10 : realanime..euh realbatch sorry ;-)) (with avs sometimes...)
i wonder : can producer handle .d2v
Sirber
4th February 2004, 21:53
RealAnime is opensource, so you can do whatever you want with it as long as you don't violate the license.
damrod
4th February 2004, 22:28
that's what is cool with GPL ....
damrod
5th February 2004, 16:47
i wonder if i will add :
- DT Drive functionnality (correct rmvb files)
- convert ra10 (aac) into mp4 files... (it seems simple to implemente via mkvtools...) => only ifv video is unselected i think or if people want to demux rmvb/ra10 files...
- chapter support in mkv ?? i add matroska muxer because i reencode many anime in rmvb, somme of them are initially ogm with ogg audio so i mux realvideo and ogg in mkv ... and i want complete series in the same format aka all the episodes in mkv or in rmvb but not a mix...
Sirber
5th February 2004, 17:05
Don,t forget that RealAnime is a "batch" tool, so the challenge is ti make it do what you want, but for 20 files in a row :)
damrod
5th February 2004, 17:16
yes i know
that's why i only wonder ;-))
matroska muxer is only a tool in case of ogm...even if we can encode ogm using "force directshow" in settings panel ;-)
that's also why my priorities are :
- save/load audience files
- save/load list of files
others mods are only ideas...
i make also somme mods of ergonomy :-)
Sirber
5th February 2004, 18:27
- save/load audience filesNo use since RealAnime create one on the fly and start the encode. Or maybe you want to "load" one :). In that case, RealAnime settings are useless.
methos
5th February 2004, 22:57
does the choice between avisource and directshowsource matter/differ in resulting quality of the realvideo file?
Sirber
5th February 2004, 23:08
nope, no impact.
On my system, I don't have any VFW codecs, so I need "DirectShow" since avisource won't work.
damrod
6th February 2004, 00:17
save/load audience comes with save/load files list...
so you can load a list and an audience for re-encoding video in rv10
and load another list with different settings for encoding video recording (source vhs or tv...in this case and for anime the noise filter at low make very good results and you don't use the same bitrate for audio/video no?)
Sirber
6th February 2004, 00:47
why just not saving the settings of RealAnime instead? More easily to manage than jobfiles :p :D
Sirber
6th February 2004, 03:08
*** New release ***
New:
* Upgraded the "About" tab :D
* Save/Load settings automaticly
Fixes:
* Scheduler now recheck for setting change while waiting
I expect to find bugs in this release. Please post them ASAP so I can fix them ASAP :D
damrod
6th February 2004, 07:40
i don't save jobfiles...
i save a .lst file for the list of files
and a .rpad for the settings
i can save the settings in ini file but why not audience files?
i can send my settings to someone else who can use it with realbatch or in producer itself...
by the way it's easier to create since the audience is part of a jobfile ;-)

Sirber,
Isn't possible : exe only release ??.
I'm downloading the entire pack second time this week.
Just kidding...:D
Great newlooking GUI, thanks. :)
Exagerrated OT: You never posted in minimum system requirements as you atleast need a "speaker" to hear the MIDI when clicking about..

a midi file?? sirber pffff :-p
BTW i update realbatch to 1.02..just some corrections...
i will check again bugs and ihm next week...

This version doesn't restart. It saves the settings to the ini file and then it just uses a lot of cpu.. but it doesn't popup.. after killing the process and deleting the ini file i can start it without probs.

Yeah, I tested it yesterday, but it seems I have the same problem. Will fix & upload ASAP. Looks like a memory leak... in VB
[edit]
' File List
frame.lstFichiers.Clear
'For iCpt = 0 To (ReadIni(file, "Settings", "file_count") - 1)
' frame.lstFichiers.AddItem ReadIni(file, "FileList", "file" & iCpt)
'NextThe code to reload the filelist seems to create a memory leak when there is no file to reload

It would be possible, but I don't only release fix/enhancements for RealAnime, but also for producer and included softs. It's always better to get a fresh pack.... humm...... yummy!! :D
