I'm gonna add a batch muxer / demuxer in the tool menu. Will be easier this way.

Basically when you select the audio file for that particular encode it'd just add whatever the necessary lines are to the script.
With regard to the bitrate calculator, that's a shame. I know your purpose with this project is mainly for encoding anime episodes, I was just wondering if you intended to extend it to cater for people who wish to back up their DVDs too as that seemed a likely aim for YS Realanime.

Will an auto-muxer do the job?
Sirber
13th August 2004, 21:12
Use both, since producer leak memory. Also, don't rip my code :p
damrod
13th August 2004, 22:59
which producer leak memory?? cmd or activx??
i don't plan to use your code this time... i have my own :-p
Sirber
13th August 2004, 23:05
both leak. THey add into RAM ~100MB at each pass. The cmdline close after 2 pass so it clear it, but SDK don't. So after ~8 files, you need 2 GB of RAM :D

Got the first bug!!!
Rate Control isn't saved :D

I can do something similar to YS,
AVI/D2V
AC3
AC3
SRT
SRT
AVI/D2V
AC3
AC3
SRT
SRT
and mux everything bellow the movie with the output. It's kinda messy thought.

strange i don't have this problem in realbatch 1.5b
it's written in vb6 and use an old version off the activeX...maybe it's the reason....
also they choose to code in .net so....;-)

I guess that would be a start but it wouldn't allow for transcoding the audio into Real's HE AAC, only multiplexing in the audio at the end.
May I ask why you've decided to completely drop YS RealAnime rather than continue it and just slow the development? It seems a shame to let it go to waste.
Sirber
14th August 2004, 16:22
The exmeple above was YS way, the audio will be encoded then muxed.
I stopped Ys coz it was too much work, the dev was very slow, and my team mates haven't done a single line of code. SO, instead of continuing alone in that giant, I decided to restart the old RealAnime in fresh Delphi 7 (instea«d of VB6) so I'll have something that works. Since RealAnime (1.91) closed, it'S been like 9 months of dev on other projects, like Surreal UI, YS RealAnime, the "successors" of RealAnime. Now I have a quite stable software and I'm ready to add features.
As you remember, donations are welcome!

Nah, it's not in .NET. The DLL works whitout the .net installed (I'm proud, I don't have it installed!). It's just compiled in VC++ 7.

I'm currently having DNS problems, I hope it will be corrected soon. I'm also working on the next release v2.10!
* The settings bug is corrected.
* Added Constant Quality
Before releasing the next version, I'll add a AVISynth manager.
Stay tuned!

CQ Mode including a prediction?
(I tell him: give me a final size of 50 MB and the application creates an avisynth sample (5 second of video every minute) and interpolates the filesize of the sample and corrects the CQ up or down to receive an end size according to the given value. (this step is repeated till the CQ doesn't change anymore +-1 )
Sirber
14th August 2004, 20:54
Helix Producer don't predict CQ, neither do I :p. If you want to implement that into RealAnime, just grab the source and have fun :)
[edit]
Cool! DNS are back :D

14th August 2004, 21:43
damn... now I already changed to Linux :D
Would have been a good thing to get back into delphi :(
Sirber
14th August 2004, 21:45
Which distro? I very like Xandros Desktop, since it's easy to use and it can run windows applications. For server I prefer Gentoo, like I have on my P2! :D

14th August 2004, 21:58
as it's your thread, I think it's ok to spam if you ask me to :D
I use Fedora Core 2 at the moment...
I wanted to have a distribution with a 2.6 kernel (running on a laptop -> i need the acpi and cpufreq stuff)... Also a possibilty to install software easily without having to worry about dependencies (yum or apt-get)
I tried them all and fedora works fine right now :D
I hope they continue developing the possiblity to pipe forward to real producer so I can use it in Linux (who the fuck has uncompressed sources besides capuring?)
Sirber
14th August 2004, 22:18
I tryed FC2 and it screwed my boot sector, as well as opverlaping partition 2 with partition 1 . Even Partition Magic couldn't help me :(
About producer on linux, a dev at realnetworks is developping in free time an input plugin based on libavcodec. I don't know if that include audio... Be sure I'll dev a GUI for linux in Kylix when it comes out :)
[edit]
Ha :( DNS issues again. I read on my provider someone is DoSing them
Razorblade2000
14th August 2004, 22:22
would you possibly have a link to a matching forum topic or sth like that?
A linux GUI would be cool :D
Maybe I could help developing in kylix :D
(I'm not thaaaat good at coding though... but I know the basics :D)
Sirber
14th August 2004, 23:01
Nah, I didn't create a topic about my problems :(
It's with the basics that you create something! I started delphi coz I was bored of crappy vb6 :D

damrod: yes, I will add your GUI to the list. I am still on vacation half way across the world and have been literally disconnected for a while, and to my big surprise just found a new forum for RealVideo! It will still take a while to catch up, not to forget I have to fly back to Seattle before I have time for all of it.
Sirber and damrod: It is not Producer that leaks directly, but a combination of DirectShow and Avisynth, which when used by Producer to read files, results in a leak. I am not sure where a work-around belongs, Avisynth or Producer, since I am sure DirectShow will not be fixed anytime soon.
Sirber
15th August 2004, 21:17
Maybe the AVI Reader isn't closing the links proprely... Anyway, this bug should be fixed ASAP. It's hazardeous to RealAnime :D
damrod
15th August 2004, 21:49
you can hope for it sirber ;-))
is it true that lastest producer is faster in cmdline that in dll??
Sirber
15th August 2004, 22:09
From my tests, cmdline is 20% faster than the SDK (ActiveX)
damrod
15th August 2004, 22:12
so i made a good choice to still use cmdline for my v2.00 :-)
do you test signalproducer.exe ?? good soft you can cancel or stop a producer.exe running....
Sirber
15th August 2004, 22:16
Yep. RealAnime uses both. I don't use the small EXE since I aim to use the SDK only. I was using the SDK until RealAnime crash with 2 GB memory usage :)
Sorry to bug your thread about RealAnime :(
damrod
15th August 2004, 22:40
it's not my thread lol ;-))
maybe we should discuss this in realanime or realbatch thread :-)
Sirber
16th August 2004, 00:35
AVISynth manager is at 75% finished. I shall have v2.10 ready in few days. The only bug I can't correct is the memory leaking :(
damrod
16th August 2004, 18:39
avisynth manager??
what's that??
you mean create avs script to mux audio/video before encoding?
Sirber
16th August 2004, 19:11
The AVISynth manager is for filtering. RealAnime still expect audio/video from 1 file (AVI, OGM, MKV).
damrod
16th August 2004, 19:19
ok it's your classic avs panel ;-))
Sirber
16th August 2004, 19:46
It's the one that was planned for YS RealAnime.
Sirber
17th August 2004, 03:13
I updated my website. Sources of Surreal UI and YS RealAnime are avalible. Don't forget those 2 software aren't developped anymore.
http://www.detritus.qc.ca/
P.S. Why detritus? I've been using junk for the past years! Just check the stats of my main server / router / firewall bellow
damrod
17th August 2004, 19:39
detritus = sirber... i like that!! :-p

I think that Sirber is applying a trial-and-error method to fine adjustment of DropDupe by RealAnime2.0.Because, RealAnime is since it is always made from his needs.
Was there any discovery?
Please teach. :D
Sirber
19th August 2004, 12:11
:D
I was once reading the forum and found a "suggestion" fot DropDupe that was adopted as default by Karl. I'm using those :p lol. I'm using the same old options since then.
About RealAnime is for my needs, yes, you are right. Defaults mutate with them.
Current settings:
Naruto: defaults
One Piece: defaults + Streaming (RC)
Razorblade2000
19th August 2004, 21:50
Just a little suggestion: you could use some code from this project:
http://avsgenerator.unite-video.com
This would make the RealAnime the PERFEKT tool for me :D
(allowing to encode a bunch of different avi files and just needing to set up a horizontal resolution of 480 and he'll do the aspect ratio for each file :D)
According to my french and these sentences it's open-source and delphi :D
Note : Ce logiciel étant développé sous licence GPL, les sources (Delphi 7) sont disponibles sur ce site. L'accès est cependant réservé aux membres ... n'hésitez donc pas à vous inscrire sur le forum !

Hum.....
That's for sure I won't have it for 2.10, but for later version when I will attack DVD ripping, it will be usefull :)
damrod
19th August 2004, 23:15
prems!!! ;-))
sirber if you want to use this code ask Ze Imp : he's the author and register on doom9 few days ago.....
by the way he's french and the last version 0.96 is available in english...
part of his code is used in rmfactory...
Sirber
19th August 2004, 23:19
Great!
But DVD support is a little against my batching mood, so it might take a little time since I'm the only dev (as usual).
P.S. Use links in your signature :p
Sirber
20th August 2004, 01:45
RealAnime 2.10 is ready except a small bug regarding Constant Quality (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=81106). Here's the list of included filters:

eDeen b1
FluxSmooth
MSmooth
cnr2
AVISynth resizers (Point, Bilinear, Bicubic, Lanczos3, Lanczos4)
EDIUpsizer
EDIUpsizer (Fast)
aSharp
aWarpSharp
MSharpen

More to come in later versions. A bug with MPEG2Dec3 has been corrected. I will release it once I get Constant Quality working.
damrod
20th August 2004, 20:37

20th August 2004, 20:42
When will we see your RealBatch?
Sirber
21st August 2004, 00:37
Output filename corrected (no more .avi). I'm waiting for a working COnstant Quality before releasing build 2.10.
