Mr. Karl has not left!, but it is hard to keep track of this thread, along with the 60/120 fps hybrid content problem. I will try to catch up, but if someone could provide a summary of the problem, and suggested solution, that would be helpful. :cool:

@karl_lillevold, @Sirber
Probably it is the mistranslation of machine translation... (^^;
I carried out the same test by RealAnime220RC2+ using true 60fps source.
The Result:
RMVB is reproduced satisfactory.
I see from a result and think that it is the problem of NULL frames.
Has not the newest Producer dropped NULL frames without managing timecode? ,I guess.
About management of timecode, DecombVFR may be consulted.

@Sirber
btw,
Did you report the fault of this Producer to Helix Community?
If you do not yet, please let me know exact version of Producer.
I will report that to them. :)
TRIAGE! TRIAGE! :devil: LoL

I have ISP problems. My current ADSL connection is highly unstable and slow. I'm changing ISP nexty month. Expect a downtime.
Also, I'm gonna post soon RealAnime 1.10 and 0.000 alpha. My roommate found them not so long ago :D

I reported in Helix Community.
3095 Producer cannot process 60fps source included NULL frames correctly.

However, although I have the point which may mistake, I think that I understand someday. I am investigating the approach to hybrid material by RV10 in the means which is different again.
btw, Who "Open"s such things when ? :confused:

The meaning,
1) A person's reported authority is indefinite.
2) Who changes New Problem into Open Problem?
3) When changes New Problem into Open Problem?
Although an interface which a present condition reporter operates is given ... I cannot understand well.

I added FFDShow VFW codec in the usable codec list. This allow to encode to ~14 new codecs, included (limited) H264 codec :D

I just thought about something... I could use marcel's fileinfo class to detect source resolution and FPS, and for lower bitrate, set video to "smooth" instead of "sharp". This will prevent frame drops and boost the overal quality.
What do you think?
karl_lillevold
28th September 2004, 02:31
This sounds like a good idea. Rememember 'smooth' will use HHR (Half Horizontal Resolution) on full size video. This does make it easier to achieve full frame rate, at the cost of lower resolution video. Player will upsample on playback though.
Another option is to use the new rate control, since it never skips any frames. By default it will not work very well at low bitrates, where something like D-C's Alt_CC curve scaler is recommended. This is currently included in AutoRV10, but D-C has expressed interest in opening the source for this Alt_CC so it can be included in other GUIs as well.
Sirber
28th September 2004, 02:35
will HR be applied to all the frames, or just if bitrate is missing?
karl_lillevold
28th September 2004, 02:36
all, it would not look good to switch ON and OFF. Could possible work to switch on scene basis.
Sirber

That could be a feature for next version: I have some low bitrate freaks :D.

RealAnime has lots of dependency that has been included.
RealAnime
MKVToolnix
Helix Producer SDK
Helix Producer Commandline
AVISynth 2.5.5
+ Filters
FFDShow
XviD 1.0.1
VP6 6.2
Note: 2.20 will be the last version until I get updates for Helix Producer.

so no light version (i got all that wxtra fil/enc/dec stuff)?
will ever be?
Sirber

I do no think so. It would cause too much problems for the common user. Is there a problem with downloading the package?
iradic

thanks anyway

As I said earlier, this version will be final fo a while. I don't plan any updates soon.

Wierd behavior:
RealAnime 2.20 send it's jobfile and logfile to the windows trash after each encode :confused:
Sirber
5th October 2004, 04:32
It's strange, 900+ downloads and 0 comments :angry:
(Excluding iradic comments) :D

Great job on the latest build. The jobfile and logfile weirdness doesn't bother me since everything else works well, and I rarely use them after an encode.
Is this project nearing "completion" (umm... a feature lock)? You've done so much with it that I was just wondering what on Earth you were thinking of doing with it next, aside from minor tweaking.
Sirber
5th October 2004, 12:15
This project is complete. I always wanted to add LAN encoding, but this is too much work:
* Network sockets
* Linux client
* MySQL database support
Next versions will mainly be bug fixes. I would be very happy if Helix team could fix the memory leaking...

About these, I may be able to offer some tips.
Especially about Network sockets, I have experience which made original Chat System from Windows platform and Linux platform.
If it is an easy question, please contact me freely.:)
Although I am seldom in IM ...:D

Please guys, let's move that talk in the new thread. As I said earlier, I won't do those things in a long time. This version will be last one until I have major upgrades to do. Also:
1) I have less to none feedbacks
2) Ratio donation / download is near 0%
3) My freetime is decreasing

Great job Siber! I'm so glad to see the great improvement of RealAnime. But I always fail to open the forum pages.:devil:
And I've finally found the 64k sound test on hydrogenaudio forum, and that shows HE-AAC is better than OGG in 64K.:p
Still an advice for RealAnime, currently I use RV10+HE-AAC and output format set to MKV, but I had to remerge the subtitle myself. I think it's better to have a subtitle autofind or manually input method and RealAnime would merge the subtitle automatically with audio&video into one MKV. :D
