Buzz when I choose FFMPEG Snow as an option, how do I put in my own settings?

rkalwaitis
13th August 2008, 17:43
I just let it run on what you have as defaults? I know I can get better results.

Thanks

i have 2 problems:
first
i was wondering why automkv crashes if i try to encode dvd with audio track which has been added to DVD..(autoGK does not crash)
automkv does not crash with original audio track but only give error by audio tracks added to DVD.
second
why i do get error width and height of video is too small and avisynth crashes..while encoding
i think it has something to do with filter grain2 used automaticaly

why is this happening anybody knows?
thanks

You dont have to use removegrain 2, pick another or none.

But the filter should not be the problem.

Try ripping the file to a folder first.

i do get 2 errors with video:
first - resize: height must be bigger than or equal to 4 (resmovie.avs, line 79)
second - removegrain2 : clip is too small

sometimes first sometimes second do crash....why?

i thought automkv is more about AUTOmative then difficult setup for knowledgable users

Do you have avisynth loaded?

Compulsory:

A recent build of AviSynth 2.5.7 http://downloads.sourceforge.net/avi...0&big_mirror=0
The XviD Koepi Build http://www.free-codecs.com/Koepi_XviD_download.htm , is needed for the YV12 Decoder!
FFdshow as decoder http://downloads.sourceforge.net/ffd...4&big_mirror=0
Haali Media Spitter (for MKV input) http://haali.cs.msu.ru/mkv/MatroskaSplitter.exe

yes...all 4 loaded

you can open it in notepad and copy and paste to here. Buzz created the program and can help you fix your problem if you can post the file. I dont understand why the program doesnt understand the dimensions of your film. posting this should help.

Under test 3 your crop of your movie is not divisible by 4. in other words 78 has something left over after it is divided by four. You appear to be trying to processs a dv2 file, made from your vob files. I usually do a avisynth file or process the vob file.

why not process the vob file if its one big one, or the ifo file, (just remember to click process this ifo under the advanced options tab and save settings under the first tab. The file above doesnt know how tall your movie is supposed to be and because he assigns it a 0, the process fails.

yes i have loaded first VOB file of movie...reason is only for testing (file is not that big)and also because if i put IFO file to convert it it will immediately crash with audio cant be properly encoded error...which i have posted here few months before and has not been resolved

this audio error appears only by ifo loaded and when audio track is not original DVD track but has been added...by someone else

even thou both ways it should not crash because autoGK does not crash at all....

so what problems has automkv to encode those files

ps- how do i setup 720 for out height also? i do setup only width 720 in program...

it will still crash in ifo mode if you select audio none or no audio processing? You have the latest version of AutoMKV?

Can someone tell me how to remove rainbow flicker from a .vob? I tried one of the filters that said rainbow in it but it didn't work.

Prolific,

Try the avisynth page, those guys are all over video and filtering

deejay.2001

audio crashes only when ifo mode and trying to encode audio which is not original on DVD...original track wont crash...but you know even added audio track should not crash if other program dont crash by encoding

How do you add a filter to automkv?

rkalwaitis
21st August 2008, 15:55
Prolific,

you have to make sure the filter you want use is available. Is it one of the ones shown on the first tab?

rkalwaitis

Deejay,

So if you let it process the original audio track, will it go ahead do the movie with no problems.

@deejay.2001

something wrong is happening on crops values, please try using manual crop OR don't crop (chose NONE as resizer)

also, can you post first 30/40 mb of the vob on mediafire.com ?

I don't know what your talking about. Can't you just recommend me a filter?

Prolific I looked at your post on avisynth. You do not need to remove a rainbos, you need to deinterlace the film first. Use automkv's under the avdanced tab. Set the deinterlacer to auto and click HQ dienterlace. Set field order to auto as well. Then try.

put this photo on the same page you put the last one with the interlacing evident. They can help you there. That is the right place for this type of problem.

hi
it looks like all problems resolved with beta13 version
i have uninstalled all programs related to automkv + 0.95c version and have installed clean complete pack from ajax_undone....link here:

Here is the all inclusive Installer http://www.mediafire.com/?bs4dkiqaoik

after complete install of this pack everything is OK even audio which has been added to DVD manualy getting to convert normally in IFO format....

for starters like me this pack is gold...thanks ajax_undone and keep doing this for us.
(just add haali splitter installer to this pack please if you can so it will be complete)

thanks all again for help and concern...lets get convert :thanks:

There are a lot of new powerful filters, intelligent macro-deblockers and other pre-, post- and during-operation gadgets out there, but you need a four-year course in rocket-surgery to figure out how to get AutoMKV to integrate them. I am regrettably beginning to lose hope that I'll ever see an easy to use full GUI which will enable the user to never have to write a string ever again. (God: I cannot believe that 2008 is two-thirds over, and we're still [profanity removed] with command-line gibberish, requiring every single new person to wander into this area of interest to have to needlessly duplicate every painful learning process of every other schleb who came before him. It's just a horrendously, infuriating, maddening, soul-sucking gobbler of TIME.)

I seem to have the best results if I don't have to filter much of anything.

2nd'd. If the PROS spent half as much time writing GUI's that implemented the BEST SETTINGS, maybe commerical companies wouldnt own them in video processing. People dont want to learn all this mindnumbing gibberish code, then have to sit there and perform hundreds of tests to figure out if any of the variables do a damn thing (which from my obervations, half of them dont). You'd have to hire a detective to seek out the information this IS out there because its scattered all over the damn place and hidden in filter tutorials and obscure program FAQ's.

1st - BEST settings do not exist... have a look at the forum rules.
2nd - you're insulting the work of ppl that made those GUIs in their free time and for free...
3rd - commercial companies are actually "owned" by the open source projects (like x264 for example... no commercial software can beat it on quality...)
4th - if ppl want to learn nothing, they deserve nothing... also you may as well speak for yourself since most ppl here want to learn... if you dont, then this is not the right place for you. go buy your commercial software and spend a lot of money to find it has problems as well... and wait for some months or even years until they fix it (if they ever do it...).
5th - video encoding, expecially when using new formats/standards, is complicated... it requires time to learn how to master it... as everything else. if you dont want to spend time in understanding it... well that's YOUR problem and again, this is not the right place for you.
6th - if you dont like what the open source community has to offer, LEARN coding some programming language and do it for yourself... as most of the open source coders did... no one is going to serve you your preferred meal for free.
7th - this is not the right thread to discuss those things. btw, the discussion is over, so...

the same is valid for Honeyko too. FYI you both have violated the forum rules 1, 2, 3 and 4 in a single post...

@Honeyko & others: I appreciate that buzzqw is still fixing and improving his project in his (probably very) limited free time. My thank you goes to him and to all other people here (Atak_Snajpera, Dark_Shikari, Didée, Fizick, scharfi's brain, x264 team and many, many others -apologies to everyone not mentioned-) who devote their time to the problems they have no duty to solve.

You could have expressed your wishes in a constructive and polite way. You could have written: "Could you please add this box here and there as this would save the nerves of the newbies? Could you please add these filters into presets?"
