here is my guess (I fugure that comparing two outputs from tsRemux with different "chapter lenght" output):
After color painted data we can see chapters info:
from C6: 00 00 00 9C - length of next data block
from CA: 00 0B - chapters count, and then all chapters data:
00 01 00 00 01 9B FC C0 FF FF 00 00 00 00
00 01 00 00 02 FB 2F 76 FF FF 00 00 00 00
00 01 00 00 04 74 EE 83 FF FF 00 00 00 00
00 01 00 00 06 45 E9 71 FF FF 00 00 00 00
...
Could anyone explain, how can I generate that kind of data from frame number or from timestamp?

Hi there - great work - is there a similar info available for the playlist and/or the main files in the directory (*.bdmv) ?
I still wonder to do this - create a menu with 2 or more small clips (mimimize encode time).
Create single video clips with e.g. Tsremux
replace single clips into the menue structre and replace 'dummy clips' with desired ones.
why ?
because all authoring software I know (I use Nero 8 mainly) does only do smart recode for AVCHD.
Anything else it tries to recode. For example several episodes of TV shows I have on several DVDs. These originals are of course compliant but might not fill the Blu ray disc completely.
Nero 8 for instance tries to fill it or at list recode it no matter how i set bitrates.
understanding this files structure better might be the solution.
Any help is greatly appreciated

musicman,
Check my guide:

kabanero,
seems to me you whatever you load into making blu ray ends up being 1 file, which you swap.
how about with several files which you create as seperate menu items (movie objects).
blu ray would create 00000.m2ts, 00001.m2ts and so on.
I have a lot of like 1 sec clips from my HD cam to create this structure under AVCHD.
now i want to seperately create movies from say 3 dvds. TSremux makes them all under the same file names.
I now want to apply your trick, but i guess some hex editing has to be done rather than just renaming files.
any idea or experience ? Thanks !

musicman,
I used my guide to test your scenario. I loaded two video files into MF6+. Applied the same method from my guide to each file.
So now I get:
1. Main menu with HOME, PLAY, Video 1, Video 2 buttons.
2. Menu for Video 1 with HOME, PLAY, Chapter 1, Chapter 2 buttons
3. Menu for Video 2 with HOME, PLAY, Chapter 1, Chapter 2 buttons
I have following files in the STREAM folder:
00000.m2ts
00001.m2ts
00002.m2ts,
00003.m2ts
00004.m2ts
where 00000.m2ts and 00001.m2ts are different video files.
Works like a charm. No hex editing required.
Plays perfectly on PS3.

Hi,
above metioned BR don't work (1080p@24 with PowerDVD 7.3.3730; ISO-file with Imageburn 2.4 and UDF 2.5) after remuxing with version .20 (false colors and blocks; after a few seconds it freezes and crashes).
Sunshine is a mpeg4-AVC. The outcome is independant, whether you use the DTS-core of the DTS-HD or just use the DD-sound for the remux.
X-Men3 has the same constallation, but does work...

I just downloaded this app and it's great. What would make it even greater is the possibility of adding at least basic menus to select different tracks when using the Blu-Ray option, like for example if I have two episodes of a sitcom that I transferred from my DVR which depending on the channel can be small enough to fit two on one DVD, then a way to choose which track to play would be great. Do you have any plans for that?

I've got a question regarding the Blu-Ray part of the program. I have several files from TV shows transferred from my cable DVR using Apple's AVCCap software. Then I open them on VideoRedo Plus and cut the parts I don't want, and save it as a TS. Since I started playing with TS Remux a few days ago I did a test with a few different shows selecting the Blu-Ray option, and then burning the rendered folders and files using Nero, UDF 2.50 or 2.60. So far I've burned only to DVD+RWs to test, and they play fine in my Blu-Ray player (Sony BDP-S300) but what doesn't work at all is the fast forward or reverse search. I can enter a timecode with the number buttons and it will go to it, but trying to go back or forward a few seconds results in the video being frozen at the current playing time and it stays there until I press play again.
Does anybody have any ideas on this? I tried different shows from different networks, and it happens in all of them.

I've been using TSremux to rebuild a number of Blu-Rays, however I'm having problems with the following movies, where I load them in PowerDVD and it freezes after a few seconds.
The thing they all have in common is TrueHD, and it seems to be the cause behind the problem, as when I choose a different audio track, or to extract the DD core, the problem goes away.
The Reaping VC1 TrueHD
The Brave One VC1 TrueHD
TMNT VC1 TrueHD
Almost Famous AVC TrueHD
Spider-Man AVC TrueHD
Life of Brian AVC TrueHD
As I go through more discs I'll add the problematic ones to the list.
Many thanks for a truly wonderful program, I just wish someone would do the same for HD-DVD!

...Many thanks for a truly wonderful program, I just wish someone would do the same for HD-DVD!
You mean like EVOdemux?
nekowhizz
6th March 2008, 19:01
Well EVOdemux goes most of the way, but it doesn't rebuild the hd-dvd structure for the remuxed .evo, which is what I would like.
Though saying that HD-DVD doesn't require much slimming down, as they are usually short on extra audio and subtitles, and extras are very easy to delete.
Also, and rather strangely, I have found that when you use TSremux to convert the EVO's to Blu-Ray, the end result seems to always be bigger than the original HD-DVD... anyone know why that is? And this is after I have processed the evo's with EVOdemux to remove the unwanted extras.
Oh and if anyone knows how to remux a pcm track and a video file together, without compressing the resulting file, I would be extremely appreciative if you could share your knowledge in this dark art :) As I've looked at how to do it, and tried with many, many tools, but nothing seems to work.
:thanks:

Hey all.
I've got a question. I've been using tsremuxer to remux my HD-DVD collection into ts files, for playback on my tvix 6500. Now, though the files playback fine, it seems that their framerate is being set to 29.97 fps, rather than 23.97 (meaning the 6500 outputs a 60Hz signal rather than 24Hz), which I assume is on the original disc.
Have I missed a step here ?
I'll appreciate any advice :)
kurt
13th March 2008, 12:57
@ lordvader1982: use vc1conv to remove the pulldown flag and then mux again. It works on the popcorn hour like a charm, so it should work on the tvix as well :)

Most customer's TVsets don't support 24fps input. Also most customers players (including tvix) don't support 24fps output. It's because NTSC standard defines 30fps broadcasting. But most customer's TVsets can do inverse telecine. For more information you can read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telecine

I think the tvix support 24 fps output actually.... but it is true - if you don't have a tv which supports 24hz natively yo have to go with 1080p60 ...
lordvader1982
14th March 2008, 06:35
The tvix does output 24Hz, and my tv does accept it.
I just remuxed a file with kurt's advice, so I'll try it when I get home tonight.

Can you tell what model your TV is? And if you suppose that it can handle 24fps input (via HDMI?) then at which physical rate it shows movie?
48Hz (double frames)? 72Hz (triple frames)? Or it does 2:3 pulldown itself and sets 60Hz rate?
Have you really seen info from your TV about its current mode other then 1920x1080@60Hz or 1920x1080@50Hz? (I mean after "@")

The 6500 starting from firmware 1.1.44 supports 24fps (drop frame and not). The problem lies that till now the frame rate is not detected in any of the Transport Stream files. If you select Info from the menu during play, you can see that Tvix reports 0fps. In such cases Tvix will play with the frame rate that matches your TV native (if you have selected auto EDID) or frame rate that you have set manualy in the Tvix setup.
Frame rate detection works fine for the matroska container.
My Samsung, when Tvix detects and plays the 23.97 files, reports @24. How the LCD panel is driven for the 23.97fps (2:2, 2:3, 3:3 pulldown etc) is up to the TV model. Although Samsung does not want to make an official statement, my 46N87 accepts 24fps and does 2:3 pulldown to drive the panel - judging from the judder.

so picture quality is equal in both playing mode on your TV?
My point is - 24p playback on TVs is pointless:
- TVs without additional frame interpolation do 2:3 pulldown itself
- on TVs with additional frame interpolation (like Philips DNM) you don't care about input, 'cause they can do inverse telecine (mine samsung 40M71 can't do inverse telecine on hard-telecined material - like some promo-dvds)

That is EXACTLY the problem I'm having !!! I have a Samsung 1080p plasma, and the file does appear as having 0fps ...
I guess that's a bug with the tvix ?
For the time being then, I'll run my ts files at 60Hz, as I can't imagine what sort of trickery is performed to convert 24Hz to 50Hz (I'm pretty sure no consumer hardware does realtime PAL speedup !)
(oh, and my TV is a P91FDX, Australian model, equivalent to the 5084)

What I did a couple months ago:
1) Ripped Ratatouille BD
2) Joined the main movie files using tssplitter
3) Used tsremux to keep only the video and dolby digital streams
4) Burned the file to a BD-RE as a data disc-played it several times in my PS3 without problems
2 days ago:
1) Put in my backup data BD-RE of Ratatouille in my PS3 and audio and video were out of sync and vido was studdering.
2) Tried streaming the file to my PS3 from my PC-same result as with the BD-RE backup
3) Tried streaming the file to my Tvix 6500-same result
4) Re-ripped the movie from the original and used tssplitter to join the main files, and used tsremux to keep only the video and DD audio streams.
5) Was able to stream to both the PS3 and to my Tvix without any problems
Today:
Same problem again-studdering and audio and video out of sync when streaming to either the PS3 or Tvix 6500.
I saw in another post that someone tried running it through tsremux twice and everything worked-I tried that and still have the same problem.
Doe anyone have any idea what I can do to get this to work again? Should I turn off the "I/O" sync on tsremux, or would that not do anything. Thanks in advance for any ideas at all.

Are you streaming wirelessly or hardwired? there is no way a file can play correct one time then not correct another time using the same file, unless you have either changed fw on the ps3, are wirelessly streaming and have interference (most likely cause for wireless streaming), or the disc you burned has not been burned well..ie your getting PIF errors that the player cannot fix (suggest you use good media like verbatim). One other obvious cause would be there's something wrong with your PS3. Have you tried TSmuxer it seems to work better for me with the ps3.

I use h264TS_Cutter it works well with trimming but you have to use a .ts or .m2ts file for it, and yes it would be nice to have it all in one tool. most likely it looks as if tsmuxer is going to replace this program (basically it does all the features now) as the source code of TSremux was given to Roman so you may want to ask Roman for that feature in TSmuxer.

Jamos h264TS_Cutter looks perfect. However, I have no idea why I can't select frame-level accuracy for cut in/ cut out points. It seems to skip MANY frames when I fast forward/rewind to select cut points. I have tried playing with every configuration setting possible. I was so desperate I posted on their all German forum. But I'm not too optimistic I'll get any help there.
Is it dependent of any of my system's 3rd party directshow filters? I'm using Vista.
I'm willing to even make a modest paypal donation to anyone who can help me get a simple solution like this working with a preview window.

I have a problem with tsremux0.0.20.
I tried to remux a m2ts-file with several languages, AVC video stream and several subpictures streams to a Blu Ray with AVC stream, 2 AC3 audio streams, 1 DTS stream and 2 subpicture streams.
After remuxing i tried to play the new "Blu Ray" with Power DVD. All works fine but when i choose the DTS track there is no audio playback. The information window in PDVD also shows no audio bitrate for DTS.
If i remux only the DTS audio stream and the video stream all works fine. Where is the problem. Can anyone help me??

Hi,
I have a question, which I'm sure has been asked many times already, but I just didn't feel like reading thru all the posts, so I apologize for that.
So, I used TSSplitter to join together a BD movie, which uses seamless branching, and then used TSRemux to mux it properly. However, the final size of the fixed m2ts turned out to be 3GB smaller than the original and I was just wondering why that is. I did check all the boxes and retained all the features from the original, the length of both is the same, so why the difference in size... ? Please, let me know what may be causing this. Thank you.

Great program. I'm new at blu-ray back-ups. Your program has for the most part worked great.:thanks:
I have had a few problems on a few movies the true hd track is not compatible and the back-up will not play. It will start and in a few seconds it freezes. PDVD 3319a is locked up and have to force closing it. tsmuxergui would say there is an incompatible file when I tried to run it, which turned out to be the true hd track. On I am Legend I reprocessed it this time keeping 2 audio tracks truehd and DD. The movie still stalls on truehd and will play with DD
I'm not sure if you have seen this probem before.
also I played "I am Legend" with showtime It seemed to play longer but the audio cuts out and back in, then after a few moments it stops playing and locks up. As with 3319a the movie plays fine with DD+ track.
the other film I had this problem with is 300hd. Perhaps ripping to an ISO file is the way to go. I'm not there yet. I like remuxing and keeping only what I want. I need to save as much HDD space as I can. My wife is mad because I am spending so much money on these BD movies and computer crap (her words)

I figured out part of my problem. You guys may already know this. On I am Legend there are 2 complete versions. I was joining them together and make a 3+ hour backup. I remuxed it again with TsRemux but it still crashed at the same spot about 7-8 mins in. On 300 I"m not sure why the uncompressed track would work. Someone said the is a problem when converting to blu-ray.
I was able to use tsmuxerGUI on I am Legend and get the truehd track to work.

Is there any chance of adding the ability to add EVO as an output to the remuxer?
I'm looking for a program that can take an mp4 or MKV and convert to an EVO. This program has all the basic features for that action, so I am hoping it would be relatively easy to add this functionality.
Thanks!

I am still having a few problems. Matrix 2 & 3 the MLP track is not compatable. The same with 300. All other movies have worked fine. I always choose the best quality options. I think I have remuxed other MLP audio track films with no problems
