Hallo,

i have a problem, tsremux is slow.

tsremux and mkv with a x264 and ac3. the clip is 2 min.
it took about 15 min to load into tsremux.
and it took about 1 hour to convert from the mkv to a bdmv file.

my system.
amd barton 2500. 512 mb ram. and i have xp sp2.

what is the problem?

maya

this app does NOT convert!!!
its takes existing streams, and remuxes them into a new one

the truehd doesnt convert anything, the ac3 stream is in the truehd stream...

amazing how much confusion on this application there is

keep up the good work, i say focus on existing bugs, before anything new :)

thanks dmz... i use it alot and very happy (v 0.18)

mitch

No need to flip out mitchjs, I just used the wrong term-I know that the AC3 core is in there, just like the DTS core is within the DTS MA stream.

dmz,

I think 0.19 has a bug that was not in 0.19.

0.19:
I load .TS file and select Blu-ray option, then burn to DVD+RW.
PS3 plays video but no sound.

0.18:
I load .TS file and select Blu-ray option, then burn to DVD+RW.
PS3 plays video and sound.

For bluray output you have to process the sound. 0.18 always processes the sound. In 0.19 you have to uncheck the sound processing bypass checkbox.

DMZ,
Do you plan on adding a feature to Tsremux that will convert the DTS HD MA to DTS like you have incorporated the Dolby Truehd to AC3? I know it would help many of us out with some of those discs that just have DTS HD MA (Pan's Labyrinth for example, and all of the older Fox titles). I know I can go the Eac3to route, but that is much more difficult (my skills with line commands are weak at best) and time consuming. The Truehd to AC3 feature you added works great. Thanks.

I could if there was a very big need for it. For now I'm not sure there is since legacy software DTS decoders are able to decode DTS HD MA -- DTS HD MA is backwards compatible. The same is not true for TrueHD. The embeded AC3 stream inside the blu-ray TrueHD is a hack and not part of the TrueHD standard (The AC3 stream is not a "core" of the TrueHD stream but a totally separate thing), so legacy AC3 software decoders freak out if you try to feed them TrueHD streams directly.

THAT WOULD BE GREAT!!!!!

Sometimes my mediaplayer takes the DTS-HD and plays the dts-core, sometimes not

If you integrate these function I would always convert the DTS-HD to the core, so I have a 100% playing stream.

Please do so :thanks::thanks::thanks:

I agree with dirkr, it would be very nice to extract DTS core, because decoding of the advanced new codecs is so unreliable.

Hi,

would it be possible/difficult to implement a muxing feature, e.g. take the raw elementary streams (vc-1, mpeg2, ac3...) and mux them as m2ts?

With eac3to, one could easily convert/extract dts-hd/dd+/truehd to dts core or ac3 and then (re)mux then again to m2ts.

That would be fantastic :)

Nas

how are you guys able to load EVO files into TSremux? Everytime I try loading anything from a movie to just a trailer all I get is this:

http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e3/ge0rgieee/evo.jpg

It just sits there like that.

Bump,

I have the same problem. and it's annoying.

I have tried alot and still can't get EVO files to load in Any version of tsrexuer.

Please can someone Help.

This would be the Icing on my cake. and complete my endeavors.

All i need is a way to mux EVO to BD and then I will Be off to the races.

Nas

It would be possible and very, very difficult/time consuming. I just don't have that much free time to implement a full muxer. This has been discussed in this thread already, but full muxing requires a lot of knowledge about the structures of all the various elementary streams as well as knowledge about keeping all those streams in sync, while keeping track of the demuxing buffers etc. Remuxing is a lot simpler, I don't have to worry about all those elementary stream interweaving, issues with elementary stream buffers in the demuxer, any timestamp generation to keep every thing in sync, I just re-use what's already there. :)

I'm having a problem playing movies that contain only a DTS-HD stream.

In both PowerDVD and Nero8, they show up as having only a video stream, so I get no sound at all. All others play fine (including the TrueHD ones now, thanks to the AC3 feature).

I'm wondering if being able to remux with just the DTS core core would help?

Do you know if there are problems with large m2ts files?
Because I have a m2ts (34Go) and Tsremux can't open it,without error message.

I mentioned this in an earlier thread to dmz. With Fox and now Newline putting only DTS MA audio tracks on their discs, the DTS MA conversion to straight DTS would be great.

i recently got a BDU200 Blu Ray Burner and im wanting to convert my Matrix HD-DVD to Blu-Ray.

I used TSremux .18 and it picked it up perfectly.

But when i convert it to Blu-Ray, i notice that it takes a bit through the movie to go out of sync!!!!

the start seems fine but then it goes out of sync completly.

I also got .19 how do i fix up this out of sync problem?

I WOULD LIKE SOME HELP WITH THIS PLEASE!!!!!

Are you burning this to a disc and then trying to play it on a blu ray player? If so, you can't. To my knowledge, the frame rate for hd dvd and tha audio are different and you need a professional program such as Sonic scenarist (which costs a significant amount of money if I'm not mistaken).

It is a bit puzzling though, because the movies play fine with audio straight from the original disk. That means PowerDVD and Nero8 can both handle a DTS-MA stream (even if they are only using the core), so I don't know why the audio wouldn't show up in the remuxed movie.

I want to stream my rip to my PS3, and to my knowledge it only accepts AC3 and DTS audio streams. Does anyone have a workaround for streaming DTS HD MA to their PS3? I have asked this question on doom9 before but haven't gotten any responses yet. Any ideas would be great.

So, after reading and reading for days and many failed experiments this is where I stand:

All tests done with h264 and AC3 sound in MKV container!
Resolution 1280x544, filesize about 4,5GB.
PS3 is firmware 2.1

GOAL: create PS3 playable video with 5.1 sound (preferably AC3), which fits on DVD5 without reencoding the video!

1) using MKV2VOB I get a file I can play on the PS3 no matter the file size (Tversity or PS3 HDD or as UDF 2.5 DVD+R)
Audio is in sync, however no ffw, pause etc. possible.

2) using GOTsend I get an .mp4 which plays perfectly fine with Audio in sync and ffw, pause etc. possible. HOWEVER, filesize must be below 4GB (using the file above GOTsent gives me 3,98GB file) and AAC audio is only 2ch (on PC AND PS3) Can someone tell me how to tweak GOTsent to get 5.1 AAC sound? And can someone confirm that the PS3 can now output that over optical out? My receiver would be able to decode it.

3) the most complex one....
MKVextract to demux to h264 and AC3 files.
H264info to convert to 4.1 level
Elecard Xmuxer to create .ts
TSremux to create bluray structure with .m2ts stream.

This does NOT fit on DVD5 due to 188 vs 192 bits.

Therefore one more step inbetween.
Belight to reduce the bitrate of the AC3.
Then mux with Elecard.
TSremus for Bluray structure.
Burned with NERO to UDF 2.5

-> I Get an AVCHD Disk with chapters, ffw, pause etc. possible, 5.1 sound. BUT
- green lines below video -> how do I convert the h264 stream from 544 vertical lines to 720 lines with equal amount of black lines above and below the 544 lines of video?
- AUDIO is out of sync. The video is delayed compared to the sound, but I can't say for sure that this delay remains the same over the whole length of the movie....
Where and how do I fix this?
While demuxing or muxing? MKVextract gives me two timecode files? I guess incorporating those into the .ts mux would do the trick, but how do I do that? Can someone point me to a software to do this?

Any info on the other 2 paths I'm following is also highly appreciated!

Yup avisynth & Megui or commandline x264

Not all mkv movies use 23.976 framerate, some are 25 or 29.970 u have to change this in script... fps= ??
To find out the right framerate u can use MediaInfo

Hey... Great... Someone who shares at least some of my goals... Add subtitles and I'm in - also the filesize doesn't matter to me since I'm going for some non-hd dvd-recodes...

But my starting point is a little different...
I would like to use nero recode for recoding the video to avc... And then use demuxing/remuxing to get the candy to work (subtitles, ac3 audio+h264, chapters)...

Slowly I'm starting to get an idea of which way to go...

Will do some tests with tsremux, too...
Main question is: Is it able to demux nero-avc (since it stores chapters and subtitles in a propreatary way) ?

Hi,

has anyone managed to author/remux a stream with VC1/AC3, burned to a DVD5/9 that plays successfully in non-PS3 standalone players?

I´ve authored a few discs, ran ps3bdfix, put the resulting M2TS through TSRemux ("Bluray" option) and then burned to a DVD5/9 with UDF2.50.
The discs play fine in the PS3 and PowerDVD, but not in any standalone player (tested Sony BPD-S1, Pioneer LX70 and a Panasonic). Both the Sony and the Pioneer display "AVCHD", but no playback.

Is it possible that the standalone players won´t play AVCHD discs with VC1 video (or might this be a problem with the AVCHD structure that Tsremux creates)?

well, I'm no expert, but afaik AVCHD is Mpeg 4 AVC <> VC1, which would explain why it won't work on standalone players. The PS3 can play regardless of the container, which is sweet....

@Psy, again I'm no expert, but the way it looks to me TSremux creates the chapters the way you enter it (e.g. every 5 mins) it won't even look at what chapters the AVC has....

Both the Sony BDP-S1 and the Pioneer are supposed to play AVCHD discs. They also both recognise the disc as AVCHD in the display, but won´t start playback.
I guess it´s either the VC-1 codec or something in the AVCHD structure that prevents them from playing...

Have you successfully played an AVCHD disc with VC1 in a standalone??

just fyi,
I've basically given up on the AVCHD thing for now.... At least until there is an easier solution for it. Reencoding just doesn't cut it, and the final result is not overwhelming either.
For one the PS3 drive doesn't sound very healthy reading these DVDs (like constantly searching the right cue point) and I seem to have some compatibility issues as well (Nero won't let me burn a reencoded file to a DVD+R while I did exactly that with the "regular" file before).
Also my PC is way tooooo slow for reencoding.
Therefore I am happy with the mkv2vob solution which works like a charm. Only flaw is the ffw/fr thing which you can solve by giving up hard disk space.....

Noob question here:

I am trying to rip my Blu-Ray DVD into a H.264 MKV of about 4-5Gb (I store all my DVDs on a NAS and hate dealing with actual disks, which go to a box in a closet - I assume that the quality at this rate would be decent). I would like to preserve the English subtitles as well.

I started TsRemux and selected the largest m2ts file (main feature) from the ripped Blu-Ray. I was hoping to rip to a single .m2ts or .ts file, which I plan to convert to H,264 MKV using AutoMKV.

The problem is, I got the single .m2ts file (AVC Video Stream; Lossless PCM Audio Stream; Presentation Graphics Stream #1 (hopefully English subtitles), but when I tried to import it into AutoMKV, I didn't see any audio or subtitles.

Now I am trying to remux to TS and have selected Dolby Digital Audio Stream #1 instead of PCM, but I am still not sure I am doing it right.

Am I on the right path?

It is a bit puzzling though, because the movies play fine with audio straight from the original disk. That means PowerDVD and Nero8 can both handle a DTS-MA stream (even if they are only using the core), so I don't know why the audio wouldn't show up in the remuxed movie.

If you select the DTS-HD audio track when re-muxing, it is there afterwards honest!

The problem is the splitter that is used during playback. For some reason using Graphedit and the Nero/PowerDVD filters I just could not get DTS audio to work.

However, if you use the Haali splitter and AC3 Spdifer the DTS-HD stream will be output, which most AV amps then recognise as normal DTS (at least mine does)

My only problem is that the Haali splitter combined with the PureVideo decoder equals jerky video playback. I can get smooth video playback with the Nero or Cyberlink video decoder, but you don't get any of the nice option like colour/gamma control (or most importantly, native h/w acceleration on nvidia cards) like you do with the purevideo decoder.

I am still experimenting with filter combinations and will post if I am successful.

This works like a charm for me on the ps3 from bd's..

bd iso structure rip to hd with anydvd after mounting the iso.

then find the m2ts files that are the main movie.

use tsRemux to import them and choose the correct streams to use, also the convert dolby hd works flawlessly to ac3.

choose ts output.

remux..and bam! a nice playable ts file on my ps3 with ac3 surround.

I am wondering if tsremux, or any other tool can make hd mpeg or ts files that can be streamed to the ps3. Right now the PS3 will open the file and play it but the files stutter with green flashes.
