dont know whether this has been reported already, the haali renderer has problems with 60fps 720p stuff. I tried to watch a mpeg2 cap of death proof (which was aired at 720p) and there is a slight constant audio delay all the time. this doesnt happen when switchig to VMR9 renderer for example.

Many files on Vuze (http://www.vuze.com) (a kind of P2P YouTube) are in the Matroska container.

Problem is that a significant amount of them give the following error with Haali Media Splitter: "Unexpected EOF while reading EBML container". Gabest's Matroska splitter has no problem with these files.

Hopefully this can be fixed in next version.

I know this isn't strictly to do with the Haali Renderer, but I couldn't find a dedicated topic for Haali Splitter, hope it's okay here.

I have a lot of .vob files with PCM audio, and while they work fine using the built-in MPC splitter, they play with no sound using the Haali Splitter (Mpeg-PS support enabled). Is this a known problem?

Hi, I ran into an interesting problem this weekend. I have an mpeg2 TS file with 2 audio tracks. The primary is ac3 and secondary is dts.

The stream was multiple streams which I copied together via "copy /b..." since H2M would have stripped out the dts track because it doesn't recognize it.

So, I used tsremux to remux the copied file with the two tracks. Here's where things went strange. The original files were set up as 0x21 video, 0x24 ac3 and 0x25 dts. When tsremux remuxed them, the newly assigned PIDs became 0x1011 video, 0x1100 dts and 0x1101 ac3. Note that the audio tracks are now reversed with the dts coming first. Again, this is not the issue here as I'm just describing the sequence of events.

I load my TS file into MPC. My MPC is set up with these source Filters unchecked, DTS/AC3, Matroska and MPEG PS/TS/PVA. The file loads and my Haali Splitter and AC3Filter icons show up on the my task bar correctly. However, when I went to switch audio tracks, I noticed that only one was loaded; the ac3 track. When I right click the Haali Media Splitter icon, the video is shown at PID 4113 and the audio at 4353. So the dts track is not recognized at 4352 (0x1100).

My other ts files that have both ac3 and dts tracks, are normally at 0x24 and 0x25 which ARE recognized by the splitter just fine. I'm currently using 1.7.359.22 and also tried the previous version which behaved the same way.

If I turn my source filters back on in MPC, i.e., check all 3, the internal splitter has no problem detecting both audio tracks. It also detects them correctly in the order of dts and ac3 since they got reversed by tsremux.

Just want to say my Problme with Remuxed VC1 (or not remuxed) Vide which was not playing smooth on my Sys is solved !!!

It was caused by my old AGP ATI x800xt Card!
No i have a Ati HD3870 and everything plays smooth!

Maybe its was the AGP Interface or the missing AVIO Features.
Also PowerDVD can play HDDVD/BR now! With the old x800xt it wont play and i got as incompatible graphics Driver Error Message

VC1 in EVO or remuxed ..all 100% smooth....im so happy now

When I use version from 2007-06-03 I can play this file ( http://www.mediafire.com/?bzojtnioymt ) in MPC without any problems but with newer versions it doesn't play at all :(

I'm on Windows Vista, I enabled Shell extension and thumbnails extraction in Haali Splitter settings but it doesn't work, there's not 'Media' tab and no thumbnails for mkv files :s.
I rebooted several times, didn't change anything. Am i missing something ?

Cleared the Windows thumbnails cache. You can clear it through the disk cleaning option in the accessories folder of Windows start menu.

I always do use the Haali's splitter.

A possible suggestion: long dash instead of 'Undetermined' in the language brackets of the file streams menu.

Currently these und's look especially ugly in avi's which of course do not have built-in language tags. I've edited the mkunicode.dll and now I am happy :-)

Using MPC-HC with Cyberlink's and CoreAVC's h264 decoders, with VMR9 renderer with and without VMR9 fullscreen exclusive.

I'm still not sure what the problem is - I *think* haali broke something with the audio.

If I only use FFDShow Audio Decoder without Reclock and/or without AC3Filter, everything is fine. As soon as I add AC3Filter or Reclock I get stutters.

I use Reclock to slow down PAL movies to 24 fps and do PAL audio slowdown. My display only accepts 60 hz and chipmunk audio bothers me.

This doesn't happen when I use an older Haali. :/

EDIT: Using an old Media Player Classic Home Cinema seems to fix it - I'll keep trying. :)

Major bug in new Haali (March 2008):

LPCM playback results in massive static and corruption in the rear surrounds. Also, the channel mapping bug with LPCM does not appear to have any effect. The right rear surround is still silent.

This could blow your hearing - DO NOT use Haali with any m2ts files with LPCM.

Tested with Dracula Blu-ray (region A). Plays perfectly fine in PowerDVD and the older June 2007 release of Haali Media Splitter (with channel remapping done in AC3Filter).

I strongly recommend going back to the old splitter - good thing I had my volume turned low or my hearing would have been damaged.

Anyone ever get the thumbnail offset to work in media center as it seems to revert to grabbing the first frame of the video as the thumbnail.

I want to signal a bug in the Haali Matroska Splitter.

With an Mkv + WavPack 7.1 channels + CoreWavPack

there is no way the output of CoreWV can connect to the FFDShow Audio processor filter (in order to do downmix).

Disabling Haali Splitter and using the internal MPC Matroska splitter, CoreWV output connects normally to FFDshow.

Hope this will be fixed.

Yes, I have noticed that too. Strange thing is if you make a shortcut, the thumbnail appears.

Edit: Try an offset of 5000 and copy the file to another directory and see if that helps. It's been working for me.

About the Media Tab, it's due to Vista's extension handling, when you first install the splitter, the Media tab is here, but when you associate mkv files to MPC, for example, it disappears.

Atak_Snajpera never saw that before but a while back when windows vista first came out there were reports from people that their video was upside down, it was due to certain builds of ffdshow I think, maybe it's related or maybe not. As far as I know that problem was fixed in ffdshow tryouts long ago.

At the moment MPC does support the Unicast stream, but it has a quite old internal splitter that freezes very often.

It would be great that Haali Splitter could be used.

I'm guessing you have your decoder set to output RGB and the output is being flipped (someone else will have to explain why this happens with RGB). If you set your decoder to output a YUV format the problem will probably be fixed.
