I did as you described, but there is no such entry in any of the playlist files.

It is a complete BD with Menu and Extras.

NOT in the playlist files. As I said, under the BDMV tab. MovieObject.bdmv is where the command is located.

The above is to enable forced subs that are not hard coded. Line 0002, highlighted in blue.
Depending on ver of BDedit, that line might also read: "SetStream(0),2,(0),(0)". however, 49154 wil still be seen on the bottom, right.

That's all I got.

Could anyone here show me how to convert the timestamps within a .mpls file to hh:mm:ss:mss and vice versa Please?

for example looking at an mpls file in HxD i can see the out time as 00 6C DD A9 and in BDedit as 02:02:29:481.

I have tried converting the Hex # to decimal and binery but it does not correlate to the actuall timestamp.

I'd like to be able to edit the timestamps in the chapters ect, but unfortunately there appears to be a bug in BDedit that completely corupts the mpls file if i try to save with multiple chapter timestamp edits.

Thanks

If you are talking about the IN_time and OUT_time fields, then:

"The IN_time and OUT_time are measured in units of a 45kHz clock. For example, each IN_time
and OUT_time may be an upper 32-bit value of the 33-bit PTS (that has 90kHz accuracy) for a
presentation unit."

Thank You very much, thats the key i was looking for. and yes i was refering to the in time and out time as well as the chapter indexes.

Much apreciated:)

One of the biggest problems BDedit has is the lack of a documentation (if one asks Google, he'll find immediately hundreds of guide on how to de-install BDedit :) :) ). Combined with the lack of BD specs/docs, this renders this outstanding tool almost useless for a beginner. This of course led to those 800+ questions in this thread ... which actually brings more confusion rather than enlightens ....
While the BD philosophy cannot be learned overnight, it would be wonderful if someone with experience can draft a sort of manual for it.

There are ample BD specs and documents (which allowed me to answer the question above). They are just not public domain. Serious developers will always obtain the relevant specs.

I'm hoping someone can give me a quick walkthru to something I'd like to do: streamless branching. I've built a Blu-Ray with Encore CS6 that has two endings. I've created one timeline with the majority of the film, a second timeline with one ending, and a third with the other ending. I've then created two buttons on the main menu linking to two different Playlists I've created. In those Playlists I've put the timelines in the order they're suppose to play.

I've been told the BDEdit should be able to help set the built BD so that these changes are seamless, and not pause as it currently does. Based on what I've read I know I need to change the clips (minus the first) in the playlist C column to 5. However, none of the playlists listed on BDEdit have more than one clip, so I'm not sure where to edit or what to do.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? It's possible I've missed something in the 40+ pages here, not sure. Thanks!

I know this :(.
However, this is not what I have asked for.
What I actually meant, was a sort of guide for BDedit, much in the sense of the guides that appeared long time ago on doom9 or videohelp, concerning the use of eg DVDshrink or IFOedit or whatever software, without disclosing any confidential information.

Coming back to BDedit - I use it maybe 2-3 times a year, and each time I get problems in making it accepting some values I input, for instance. It takes me many minutes and trials to find the correct order of pressing the buttons. People that use it probably many hundred times a year developed meanwhile a reflex, and they do not realise this issue.

Hi

I am pretty new to BDedit, so please forgive my lack of knowledge here. I have to agree with the sentiment above that this great tool is rendered near useless by noobs.
additionally I am trying to trouble shoot an issue with in-mux PiP, something I have no real experience with.

My issue is with the Japanese release of Kiki's Delivery Service.
Ghibli Japan uses Panasonic Authoring studio (and Panasonic Mastering), who have some really modified authoring setup that apparently creates some files and structure in ways Scenarist doesn't like.

I have been working on trying to make a modified BD, adding in extra audio and subs to the main movie.
so far I have added some subs 2 LPCM stereo tracks) that will mux fine without going over bitrate.
I am still finalizing all of my subtitles and getting them ready to import to avs2bdnxml. In the mean time I also want to figure out how to get the PiP to work.

Long story short, I have a few extras that Scenarist won't mux at all (even directly remuxing from unaffected demux fails on some extras/ files), so I removed these extras. I would however like to add them back in.

the affected files are:
mpls: 00002, 00003, 00012
m2ts: 00002, 00003, 00008, 00012, 000013
clpi: 00002, 00003, 00008, 00012, 00013

I have tried just dropping in the removed files from the retail rip, and that kind of works, except for the Storyboard Feature with its in-mux PiP:
mpls 2, clpi 2 m2ts 2
subplayitem: clpi 12 m2ts 12

when I select this extra from the menu the feature plays, but the PiP stream/placements cannot be selected properly, like it can be in the retail. That is my main issue here.

in the retail the PiP is triggered with the remote's directional arrow pad/OK buttons (same thinng for software player with virtual remote)
by hitting OK (middle button) you get a secondary IG menu, with 3 choices, I pick the one on the right
and the selection on the right of this new IG menu pops up 3 choices: (in Japanese) PiP at 480p, Pip at a smaller frame size (somehow scaled from the 480p streeam), or no PiP
if you select the 480p or smaller frame, it goes back to the storyboard feature with the secondary video playing
using the arrow buttons on the remote can place the secondary video in the 4 corners

you can also skip the secondary / popup IG menu and, while storyboard is playing, just click one of the arrow keys on the remote
this triggers a cute overlay animation of Kiki's cat, Gigi, and then starts the secondary video @ 480p.

When I try to import the mpls, clpi and m2ts over to the custom BD, some stuff gets broken.
depending on the player I may get the overlay animations in the corners, and sometimes I can get the secondary video to play in the upper right (some players it is 490p, in Sonic QC it is a small frame PiP). I can never get it to display in the other corners

I opened the BD retail and my custom in two instances of BDEdit, and I find 00002.mpls has extension data not in the custom, and the popup window tells me it is PiP Extension Data.
Great, so I copy it and import it to the custom and save the mpls on the custom.
But I still have no PiP.

Can anyone tell me what I may be missing?

If you need it, here is the BD structure of my current custom and the retail (everything but m2ts files) to try to look at in BDEdit, see if you can find anything.

http://www.sendspace.com/file/i9iwih - custom
http://www.sendspace.com/file/xonqgy - original

this may not be enough to view all the menu features, and PiP info, what with the overlay animations along with menu BOGs, etc.
If you need more uploaded to check things, let me know. if they are things I can extract with BDedit, please let me know (and how to do it).

I would like to know what you find and how to edit it, also, since I plan to eventually add some subs and other audio to this Kiki disc; plus knowing for the future would be great -- especially since I will likely have to deal with this again after I buy the Japanese BD of Totoro to customize.

If it would truly help, I can post the Scenarist BD solution and project folders + files (minus large ES files). Again, though, there are several extras which will NOT mux in ScnBD (even a direct remux from demuxd retail rip made with latest stable AnyDVD HD), this Storyboard feature is one of those extras that will not mux in ScnBD!

thanks for any help

Is there a way to get BDEdit to run in a non-interactive mode? I want to get a dump of the playlists & commands(?) (basically everything shown on the BDMV tab) through an automated script.

If not, is there another tool that can do this? Preferably open source.

Hello i could use some help.

In a M2TS file are 1 movie file (avc), 2 audio PCM 5.1 and PCM 2.0, 2 Subtitle JPN, JPN Dubbed.
So i would like to use the PCM 5.1 to create a DTS-HD file and i have one made, ok.
And i want to have a English and Dutch subtitle so i created one.

So i going trouh the process of tsMuxeRGUI adding al the stuff that i want:

1 MOVIE FILE
2 AUDIO FILE, 1st PCM 5.1 2. DTS-HD MA
2 SUBTITLE, ENGLISH, DUTCH

And i put it back in the proper folder, make some adjustments..
Hock it up on my Popcorn-Hour A300
Ok the first thing what i always see is the Studio Logo, but after that the movie sopused to play, but i doens't. So i make few new M2TS file chang the timecode, uncheck some button's.
Remove or change the MPLS the CLIPINF..

It does just nothing.. I just doens't now what the problem is?
And i want to created this movie so i can give it as a present to my father because in this movie there is no Dutch sub and i want the "whole" Blu-ray, with the menu's.

Ps. changing the Menu's en some commands that works just fine, but just the M2TS file not.

Ok i found it, i followd the guide http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=150511 strictly, but what's the different by adding the MPLS file or the M2TS file in the tsMuxeRGUI, ok i just need to put the MPLS in, but why can't it just work white the M2TS file?

Is there anyway of automating the generation of a individual MPLS per chapter on the BD (I can do it manually with BD Edit but it take a while)? FYI - this is handy for Music BD's where you want one per track.

I have a full bd with menu that plays a foreign sub by default. It can be deselected via the menu.
However, I'd like to disable the default sub and have tried removing the highlighted one with no success.(this is exactly the line I add when adding forced foreign subs to a BD remux, so it made sense to start with that one)

There are 5 subs, however, from what I can see, BDedit only shows 4.

Any thoughts would be helpful. Solved, see edit below.

Edit: Ok, found the answer, back in 2009, from Deank. Rather than removing the highlighted line, I needed to change the command from "c002" to "8002". Works like a charm, thanks Dean! : Click (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1274952#post1274952)

I used multiAVCHD to create a 12 title Blu-ray using the title-list menu, which displays all 12 titles/thumbnails on one page. When any of the first 12 titles completes, it returns to the title menu page with the first title button highlighted.
Can BDedit be used to have the next sequential title button be highlighted after completion of a title? I am trying to avoid having to press the remote controls arrow keys every time to navigate to the desired title from title one.
Instructions to achieve this would be most welcome!

I have a bluray disc that I created with 4 tracks (titles). It is currently set to jump to the next title after each title is finished playing. There is a Title and Track menu. I'd like to edit this using your bdedit and set tracks 2,3 and 4 to automatically loop itself when it is finished playing instead of going on to the next title.

For example, if I select Title 3 (OID/file 4), on the right side the last line is Branch/Jump/Jump Title/Imm 4 (which I assume makes it jump to the next Title (Title 4). Can I change this to Jump/Jump Title/Imm 3) so that it automatically starts playing the beginning of Title 3 over again or is there a better way to do this? I also want to do this with Title 2 and Title 4 so when they are finished playing it repeats the same title seamlessly rather than go on to the next title.

As I can not see all commands it is impossible to propose a valid solution.
There are many conditions, I do not know if they are true or not without tracing whole structure.
e.g.
line 26
if GPR_8 == 262146 then move 1 to GPR_2014
line 28
if GPR_1024 == 0 then move 1 to GPR_8
...
line32
if GPR_4 == 0 then go to line 36

So you have to try...
Backup your movieobject.bdmv

Replace commands in line 35 from 20810000 00000025 to 20810000 00000022

save and play

if it is not right one restore your backup and try
replacing commands in line 37 from 50400001 00000002 to 20810000 00000024
save and play...

Well, I understand that it might be too soon (having regard to the DVD similar case), but BDedit still lacks a guide, beyond the presentation at pel.hu (BTW, the webpage in the very first comment is wrong).

Yes, I know and I said above that it took time to distillate something like http://www.dvd-replica.com/DVD/vmcommands.php or http://stnsoft.com/DVD/index.html .

The lack of knowledge usually causes a flood of endless discussions, for each individual topic, for the very simple reason that the tutorials, which are presented in a short manner, address usually a singular aspect from a large pool of possible situations. This way, the user is not able to modify the tutorial to fit his needs. And this way the snowball started to roll ...

I also understand the legal situation, which is further restricted than in the DVD case, however this is not always a brake for the progress.

Reading this thread I dare to state that it could have been shrunk to less than 1/4 if a half-decent guide would have been provided.

PS: I believe that this was also the case for IFOEdit, a wonderful piece of software, which went almost into oblivion because the lack of a proper documentation. At least I use it less than 1 time a year, and only to correct maybe something that is not correctly done by another software.

Use a free GPR to identify each title.
I use GPR_100.
For every title add a command to set GPR_100.
For title 1 use value 1,for title 2 use value 2 and so on.
SAVE

http://members.aon.at/video.digital/GPR.png

Go to CLIPINF, select 93001.clpi -> Menu
select Page View and Start
you should now see ButtonIDs we need (hex values)
Button for title 1 has 0x6
Button for title 2 has 0xC
and so on

http://members.aon.at/video.digital/BTID.png

Select Page 0, be sure Button id 0000 is selected and change commands as shown in the picture (right click - Edit mode)

http://members.aon.at/video.digital/COM.png

EQ GPR100, 1 #condition
SetButtonPage 12, 2 #command

read as "if GPR_100 is equal 1 then go to page 2 an select button 12"
...
MUX and replace 93001.m2ts in your STREAM directory.

IIRC, Screen Pass points to a false playlist if it doesn't detect AACS, when playing the main feature.

I have found the easiest approach is to identify the false playlist and edit it within BDedit to match the playlist you want. There may be a direct way to change the playlist in BDedit, but I find it so complicated to use and understand that my alternate approach works better for me. Curiously, renaming the valid playlist to the false playlist didn't work for me: I had to edit the false playlist.

I haven't found the answer to this and have been looking for a long time for this. How can I add multiple, usually two but maybe three or four .m2ts files that I want played back to back on a bluray disk. I have a chapters files for each and have used tsmuxer to make a single full file version of the audio/video components. I don't need menus, or anything crazy like that, I just want to add them as a separate titles - I don't want to MUX them together in tsmuxer, sometimes they won't be the same sound or video size anyway so that option won't work. Is there a simple way to have the index.bdmv and the MovieObject.bdmv files modifed or created to do this task. Have been playing for weeks now it seems but can't seem to get the numbers in bdedit exactly right for it to work. I can always play the first file, but rarely are the other files detected. They show up as titles dvdfab, but that program has no way to do this as well. I've taken a Bluray file structure, taken all the files out except the .bdmv files, and replaced the m2ts files with mine, and put in corresponding (name only) .mpls files in the playlist folder. I was hoping bdedit would be all I needed to change the mpls and bdmv files but no such luck as yet. What are the most basic and simple commands needed on the first screen to make it work. Oh, and I've tried the multiAVCHD program numerous times and it doesn't work and adds so much extra crap and folder structure that I don't want, I want to avoid using that program if I can.

There is a way for doing it! You just need easySUP tsMUXER and BDedit. You need to find de Playlist MPLS of the main movie. Add the MPLS into tsMuxer just add the subtitle with in (BD SUP in easySUP) mux it like Bluray Folder. Then find the CLIPinfo of the real movie of the origin bluray and change it whit the new one. But keep the code name the same! (00003.clpi = 00003.clpi) do this the same with the movie m2ts. Now BDedit. find in Bdedit the playlist of the main movie. And on your right sight you must find the subtitle box to add on 1200 is the first, 1201 is the second.. then you must save or mux it? And i think your done.

But if this is not clear xD i can make a tutorial if you want one. Subtitle is muxed with Multiavchd. Disc had no subtitles at all so there's no menu selectable. When playing the movie subtitle is not selectable (greyed out)...

Is it possible to modify the commands of menu buttons? (Menu -> BOGs) The list of commands can be switched from Read Only to Edit Mode, but there's no way to save changes.

There is a Save button, but it saves the whole menu as an external .mnu file.

Use Mux button to create a m2ts file and replace original.

Use Mux button to create a m2ts file and replace original.

Are you absolutely positive that should work? It generates an m2ts, but no corresponding clpi.

I'm working on a Blu-ray disc generated by Adobe Encore. As it is a very limited application, I have to make some final polishing with BDedit. There's a button command I need to change.

I tried your suggestion: edited the command, Mux, replaced the m2ts, reloaded the disc in BDedit. It corrects the packet value of ClipInfo, but when I switch to menu tab I got an "Access violation at address 0057FD3F".

It works for out-of-mux menus only.

Hi everyone, can someone help with a bluray structure with the following description:

The Bluray contains 8 episodes of a series, i want to add a subtitle track and a additional audio track, that was done in tsmuxer (replaced the M2ts and clipinfo for every episode), the problem is: the bluray has only a MPLS with all the episodes, not a individual MPLS to replace with the one generated by tsmuxer...

I want to know what is the parameter to edit for a perfect playback of the playlist? actually TMT or Power DVD only plays the 1st and 5th episodes, the duration of the playlist is right, bur the other episodes only shows a black screen.

When using the BDEdit to view the Base clipinf of 3D Blu-ray Disc. I don't know the meaning of the edit button in this picture?

And after clicked on Edit button. A new PopUp Windows Appear. What's meaning of the "Extent Start Point" content?

And the question is why the 2D Disc don't have this and the 3D Disc have? How to generate this entry?

Thank you!

In your case this is the "Extent Start Point" extension to CLPI and shows the source packet numbers of start points in interleaved SSIF stream.
For combatibility reasons to 2D this in ExtensionData part.
Dependent view CLPI has additional ExtensionData parts, "ProgramInfo SS" and "CPI SS".

Thank you so much. :)

As you said that "shows the source packet numbers of start points in interleaved SSIF stream". Show how to find all of the source packet numbers of start points in interleaved SSIF stream when I only have 2 .m2ts (Base View and Dependent View only)?

?????

It means if I clear all the Extension Data. How to re-build it to make it works?

Exactly, I have replace the base view clip. I think dep view will not change size when remuxing. So that I just need to replace the base view, which contain audios and subtitles. After that, re-create the Extension Data with old dep view. Then I will have a working 3D Blu-ray Disc.

With some new disc like: Pacific Rim or Edge Of Tomorrow. They are have an anti-privacy bit in the dep view. So that I demux the dep to mux with base in Scenarist. I will get the "SSIF Allocation Error, Fail At Conditional 5". But I can see that the CHDBits team, they do the same as I said above. But I don't know why they can create that Extension Data for the Base View. So that I want to ask how to create that extension. Or how to remove the anti-privacy bit?
