Loading a BD file structure and simply trying to follow along with the tutorial. Pressing "play" with ANY portion of the BD yields nothing. If this worked one might be able to find their way around the disk but I have never been able to make it work. It's NOT BD specific, this happens with ANY BD I load into the tool. As well the same BD's load and are editable in other tools.
This aspect has never worked for me either, nor have I ever seen an editable menu with the program.

You can play an m2ts clip on your computer if your system has any player which can handle the m2ts files. The program only sends an 'open' command to the windows with the selected clip as a parameter.

Please give me details, I can't help if you don't specify the circumstances.
If a BD has an IG menu then you can see it, play it, run it step by step, and you can also edit it.
You can see good tutorials here on Doom9 if you cannot figure out yourself how BDedit works.

I'm confused now. So you mean BDedit can trace commands like PgcEdit does? :confused:

In my PCs, when I press "Start", it just runs through the commands, and doesn't stop until it gets to a Jump or a Call (which aren't executed, I have to manually look for the destination), or the end of the Object. I've never seen a video or a menu pop up.

I have a Blu-ray decrypted to my Hard Drive and I am currently experiencing this problem:

Using Total Media Theatre 5, I am able to start this folder, then I see Fox warnings and logo. After that I am unable to see the BD menu and I am redirected to the main movie. After the movie ends, I see a piracy warning in several languages and again, redirected to the main movie. So I can't access the BD menu from this movie, which has extra features, as you can see by this PNG file taken from the BDMV\BACKUP\JAR\00001 folder:

Is there a way to fix this? Using BDEdit or any other software I should look for? Why is this happening? Do you have any idea?

And it's happening in more than one title, but from the same company.

Fox Rental discs are like that. Try going to "BDMV\JAR\99999" and look for the file named "config.xml" (you need to open it on notepad), then change "<Rental>Y</Rental>" to "<Rental>N</Rental>", save the file. IF the bonus material is on the disc (physically), you are now going to have the Retail edition, works on SOME Rental releases.

Will it work? Also, BDedit doesn't work well with higher DPI settings (125% on Windows 7). Thanks.

A small bug: if a playlist contains a reference to a non existing clpi, and you press the Find button at the Clipinf tab, you get an "Access violation at address xxxxxxxx" error, and the search stops.

A feature request: a Search window in the MovieObject commands.

Cheers.

Pelican, thanks for this great tool :)

Unfortunately I'm quite new to BDMV structural programming and don't find any valuable tutorial on detailed IG menu coding.

I hope you or anyone else who knows enough about it can help me with the following problem:

I've made a multiAVCHD compilation that should be BDMV conform with a motion welcome screen, one main title of more than 3 hrs. play length and two following short hidden titles. Only for the main title a chapter menu has been created, no title menu.

It is a HDDVD content converted into BDMV format, so I imported the original chapter list with 50 entry points. multiAVCHD creates 5 chapter menu pages but the IG code generated works terribly bad. The only working page is chapter page #1. It starts going ugly with chapter page #2 with these errors:

the previous nav. button jumps to page #5 instead of #1
the next nav. button jumps to itself (page #2) instead to page #3
each of the 12 chapter thumbnails jumps to the timecode of the equivalent menu position of page #1 instead of taking the correct offset into page #2

First I want to fix the previous/next button problem, but I don't see the coding error(s). To clarify things I put some images here.

The first one is the code part of the 'x' button to leave the chapter menu (hoping that I've found the right one):

http://img199.imageshack.us/img199/6739/kkeigmenuchaptercancelb.th.png (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/199/kkeigmenuchaptercancelb.png/)

I don't find a title 0 in the index.bdmv - is it correct to assume that Jump Title 0 always is the jump to the Top Menu?

The next image shows the code for the previous chapter page button:

http://img810.imageshack.us/img810/3977/kkeigmenubadchapterprev.th.png (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/810/kkeigmenubadchapterprev.png/)

As I understand it, GPR 2055 is used to store title #1 and GPR 2054 is used to store the last chapter number of the previous page #1 (as I have 12 chapters per page). Is that correct that Jump Object 258 executes the code for object 258 and does NOT return at the calling point as in standard procedural languages? So the Break after the Jump Object 258 would never be executed ... as the rest of this code page also wouldn't?

Ok, the next one is MovieObject.bdmv's object 258:

http://img12.imageshack.us/img12/696/kkeigmenubadmovieobject.th.png (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/12/kkeigmenubadmovieobject.png/)

As I saw up to now, GPR 2060 is never zero when called by the chapter menu page (hopefully it shouldn't). The rest for me looks like a calculation of the target chapter menu page to display and then playing the appropriate playlist. Feeding the value of 12 into GPR 2054 should result in page #1 ... but page #5 will be shown :eek:

To make it complete for now, the last image shows the code for the next chapter page button:

http://img830.imageshack.us/img830/535/kkeigmenubadchapternext.th.png (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/830/kkeigmenubadchapternext.png/)

The first commands look like that in the previous chapter page's code, here setting GPR 2054 with 25 which is the first chapter of page #3. The resulting jump instead remains reloading page #2 keeping the current button position.

So, any help is really very appreciated :)

Cheers,
Konran

It's correct.
Call Object returns Jump Object doesn't.

If you want to change page you have to use SetButtonPage command.

If you want to change page you have to use SetButtonPage command.
Thanks for your answers, Pelican :thanks:

During the whole weekend I've got this part working, changing the menu pages using direct access to the appropriate PSR's instead of the original GPR's that multiAVCHD was using. The SetButtonPage command is used in the code to switch between the different planes of a menu page already loaded. The five menu chapter pages are organized as five IG subpaths of the menu playlist. I'll go deeper into that because I still have a secong problem which I couldn't solve for days... :confused:

The five chapter menu pages generated by multiAVCHD don't work as expected: the first one does but page 2 ... page 5 don't! They should give access to chapters 13 to 50. The thumbnails and time values printed on the menu pages are correct but each jump on a chapter in page 2 to page 5 takes the time value that applies to page 1 at the matching button position - e.g. chapter 14 on page 2 jumps to chapter 2 from page 1. It seems that certain GPR's are not properly retained or even evaluated. Unfortunately I've no chance to debug this behaviour properly with BDedit because the the code multiply performs on different titles in MovieObject.bdmv and the IG substream. Hopefully the last time for this I need help again please...

On the first image you see the playlist 601 which makes up the chapter menu. It contains five play items, each one has its individual IG subpath:
http://img827.imageshack.us/img827/7379/kke1igmenuplaylistchapt.th.png (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/827/kke1igmenuplaylistchapt.png/)

The second image shows the opened subpath 90012.m2ts for the second chapter menu page:
http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/9423/kke2igmenustartedmenupa.th.png (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/18/kke2igmenustartedmenupa.png/)

SetButtonPage 6,2 is auto-executed and it opens plane 2 of IG stream 90012.m2ts and positions to button 6:
http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/4672/kke3igmenubutton6codepa.th.png (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/171/kke3igmenubutton6codepa.png/)

multiAVCHD uses GPR 0 for the relative chapter number (here: 12) and GPR 1 for the title to play. Jump Title 0 will access the code for top menu:
http://img577.imageshack.us/img577/4065/kke4igmenule0code.th.png (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/577/kke4igmenule0code.png/)

I have debugged it so far that the code at line no. 12 will be accessed. As GPR 4 was set to 1 previously, movie object 262 will be accessed:
http://img12.imageshack.us/img12/812/kke5igmenumovieobject26.th.png (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/12/kke5igmenumovieobject26.png/)

Really some stupid code here, but GPR 10 was set from GPR 4 - so it is 1 and I'm landing at movie object 1 finally:
http://img706.imageshack.us/img706/3586/kke6igmenubadle1code.th.png (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/706/kke6igmenubadle1code.png/)

Here comes the big BUT: We have the chapter number (here: 12) in GPR 0 and now in GPR 10. So I thought that Play PL_MK 0, GPR10 should go to playlist 0 (which is 00000.mpls) at playlist mark 12 ... but mark 0 is played! For playlist mark 13 it lands at mark 1, for mark 26 it lands at mark 2 and so on...

I've tried to get PSR information of the subpath number or anything like that to find out where I was coming from originally while the menu playlist 00601.mpls was accessed. All attempts failed :mad:

I really appreciate all suggestions that could work :)

Cheers,
Konran

PS: When I replace the command Play PL_MK 0, GPR10 in the last graphic with e.g. Play PL_MK 0, 25 the movie really plays at playlist mark 25 (chapter 26). So there must be some register assignment mismatch or lack of transfer registers between button code execution and movie object execution. But what is it?

PS 2nd: Might it be possible that, regarding the first graphic on playlist 00601.mpls, on switching to a different menu chapter page other than the first the wrong IG subpath stream will be picked up so that it is always going into the first IG subpath thus loading the button code for the first page?
If so, how can I assure that the correct IG subpath is set when playlist item 2 ... 5 of 00601.mpls will be selected (e.g. IG subpath 90012.m2ts for page 80012.m2ts?

... just checked it out: I deleted files 90012.m2ts ... 90015.m2ts from the BDMV\STREAM folder and it doesn't have any impact to the chapter menues - they play as false as before when I switch from page 1 to another. When I delete the first IG stream file 90011.m2ts and leave the others intact, the player is hanging when going into the chapter menu. So, how is the IG subpath being selected?

Finally I've got a workaround for the bad chapter jump problem by using a supplementary register to save the new chapter page number after changing from one chapter page to another. Using this GPR multiplied with chapters per page as an offset to the chapter number supplied only from IG playlist file 90011.m2ts jumps to the correct chapter.

But I'm not quite happy with it because page 5 has only 2 chapters. IG playlist file 90015.m2ts has button code that prevents moving the cursor to blind thumbnails that are not printed on that page. As there is 90011.m2ts loaded instead I can move the cursor around on all 12 chapter thumbnails where only 2 of them have a jumpable code and a thumbnail image.

So looking again into the playlist 00601.mpls which makes up the chapter menu:
http://img827.imageshack.us/img827/7379/kke1igmenuplaylistchapt.th.png (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/827/kke1igmenuplaylistchapt.png/)

The five play items 80011.m2ts ... 80015.m2ts make up the chapter menu movies. Each of them has its individual IG subpath 90011.m2ts ... 90015.m2ts but only and always 90011.m2ts is loaded. Why that? :confused:

How can I achieve that 90012.m2ts is loaded with 80012.m2ts and so on?
Can I problably change the stream PID for each file to an individual number which is a static 1400 now?
But in this case I don't have the possibility to change the PID on the IG's menu page for 900xx.m2ts :(
Is ist probably the only chance breaking up 00601.mpls into 5 separate play lists with each one having only one menu page?

Could someone supply a working sample of an IG menu with more than one chapter page to see how the structure and code is set up?

Cheers,
Konran

I find [b]everything[/] gets clipped, at beginning or end ... can't tell what you are even selecting or looking at, and not being able to resize columns, etc, etc makes it impossible to start learning it at all. I have been using 150% so am having more issues, I think, than Weirdo. going down to 100% would make my screen across the room impossible to read for many things.

this isn't the only software gui that becomes unusable on higher dpi settings (some have vital buttons inaccessible), but it would be great to have it fixed for those of using these higher dpi settings in windows.

still, thanks for the program you have shared with others, and i look forward to trying this when the dpi issue is fixed.

Hi!

As you probably know, to make creating "movie-only" backup copies more difficult, many newer Blu-ray discs from the major studios contain several (in some instances, dozens) of extremely similar .MPLS files with only one of them being the "real" .MPLS used to properly play the disc.

Does "BDEdit" have the capability of determining which such .MPLS file is the "real" one? If so, how?

Thank you.

I have an existing BD with a Dolby True HD audio track.

Using Tsmuxer, I deleted that track from the m2ts and substitued a DTS-HD Master audio track.
Putting this back into the bd structure, as you can imagine, the new audio won't play. (TMT dislplays Dolby True HD, as well)

bdedit (.39b) clipinf still displays "Dolby Lossless" under the 1100 pid.

What can I do in bdedit to enable the audio, or is this even possible?

@laserfan;
I am not sure if this will work, and you have already found that TMT 3 is not the best choice for testing. :p
If you open either the original Blu-ray or the BD-RB reencoded one with multiAVCHD in Re-Author mode, then go to the title that you want to swap the audio files, remove the audio files and then add external audio in the order you prefer and then let multiAVCHD rebuild it. I have done this before and it does work.
But what I am not sure is if it will change the .mpls to reflect the true, correct type of audio you add externally!
Definately test with BD-RE. ;)

This is what I was referring to, and it does seem to work.

The corresponding clipi showed the correct audio stream in BDedit, as DTS-HD XLL. I don't think the mpls is affected by the change, from what I can see. (no audio info ever displayed there, except "audio mix" check box). So that shouldn't be problematic.

Plays fine in TMT 3 (I know that's not a good test) and I'll test on a SA BD player.

edit: And, of course, thanks to deank! Now if I could just edit the menu to change DD to DTS :D

Hi All,

I am new for all those AVCHD staff etc.
I have sony handycam that is storing recorded films in AVCHD format
PRIVATE-> AVCHD -> BDMV
-> CLIPINF...
-> PLAYLIST...
-> STREAM...
-> INDEX.BDM
-> MOVIEOBJ.BDM
I can put SD card from camera to the panasonic TV and watch all films via Viera tool on TV.
I would like to copy all those films from SD card to my external harddrive and be able to watch like from SD card.
So I copied everything from SD card to my harddrive and TV sees all my films.
I removed everything from SD card and record few next films.
I see that STREAMS and other files are named starting from 1.
So I thought that if I change the name to the next free name and copy (cli and mts files) to my external harddrive I can watch everytnig - but this is not working in this way.
So my question is do you know any tool that I could use just to edit AVCHD structure just to add new playlist with my new mts files on my external drive that I could watch everything on my TV?
I tried to use BDedit but it has too many options that I am not familiar with.

Thanks for any help with this.

Feature Request:

To be able to see and edit all the contents of the 3D SSIF CLPI files. I have a theory that the re-authored discs won't work because the edited m2ts has different IN_OUT times than the corresponding SSIF file. And given the fact that there is no free demuxer/muxer, the clpi edit idea seems the best choice for now.

Now, those CLPI files appear empty in BDEdit.

Thx in advance.

See the ExtensionData of the "empty" CLPI.

I've got an Oppo 93 with a region free mod. However I tend to forget which region I'm currently on. I decided the best way would be to make a BD disk with a simple:

if region a, start playlist #1
if region b, start playlist #2
if region b, start playlist #3

I've absolutely no idea how to do this though. Is there anyone who's already done it and can provide a screenshot? or better still provide the MovieObject & Index files?

I was wondering if I can make a button link to a specific chapter mark on a playlist I made and add to my BDMV?

Jon, I'm trying to accomplish this same feat and cant seem to get the fine details accomplished in BDedit. Could you provide a few more details on how you accomplished this? Thanks!

I am looking for a way to add an m2ts back into the full (java) BD, after the following processing:
*I have stripped audio streams
*I added 2 subtitle (sup) streams
*I re-encoded the AVC video with x264

I am still pretty unclear on what the best way to edit/reauthor all of this is.
Can I replace the original m2ts and use BDedit to edit the structure somehow to remove the blanked audio and recognize the new sup files? If so how?
