First of all, I love this program, and the fact that it's being actively developed.

Are there going to be any additional controls added that assist the user in moving back and forth in the video? For example, I sometimes find my self wanting to move backwards, or forwards, a few seconds or milliseconds, at a time. I currently find myself constantly CTRL-SPACE, doing a CTRL-J, then ALT-SPACE, step... step... step...

Also is there a way for the time to auto-fill, for where you're at in the film/video?

That would be awesome!

Thanks for the program, and all you do with it, for the community.

EDIT: also if the time in the title bar was out to the thousandths, like the start/stop times are... it would help with timing / controls.
EDIT: the num-lock for entering numbers? :)

Hi guys! :)

First I'd like to thank you and congratulate you on your work! SubtitleCreator is great!

Unfortunately I'm having a problem... :(
I did a small search and found that this has been reported again here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1098211#post1098211), but I didn't find any solution for this
As described by Mitre, the problem occurs while using the DVD Authoring Wizard.
I hit start, demultiplexing finishes ok, so does multiplexing of the new dvd. Then Vobblanker starts (at about 65-66% of the total process) and after just a few seconds I get the following message by VobBlanker:
Error: Unable to stat 0.IFO
and the process stops at that point (around 66% of the total process), no new DVD is created...

I've followed manusse's suggestions here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1098486#post1098486), but no luck
I tried both the stable and the last beta(RC1) version, no luck with either of them...

I'd really appreciate any help!
thanks :)

Hi,

Try unselecting the "Retain the menu..." box and see if you can get a working DVD. Please report your results here.

Hi manusse, thanks for the reply :)

I unselected the "Retain the menu..." box as you suggested and the result is a working DVD
I double checked it on my standalone DVD player and it works fine there too (no menus of course)

Any ideas as to what to try in order to keep the menus too?
I don't really understand what "Error: Unable to stat 0.IFO" means...

thanks!

Hi,

OK, so this seems to be a vobblanker problem. I've seen this error before but can't remember where.
Maybe you could post a message here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=120140)to get jsoto's help on this subject.

Cheers

Ok, I'll try posting there and hopefully I'll get some help from jsoto
maybe I'll post here too if I finally find a solution to this
thanks for your help manusse :)

Hi again! :)
manusse, I posted at the VobBlanker thread as you suggested
unfortunately the error message that I got wasn't helpful
blutach advised me to try to use VobBlanker as standalone, I did that and I got a working DVD, no problems came up
So could it be that this problem is related to the way SubtitleCreator handles VobBlanker?

And one other thing that came up...
I installed a new font in Windows but it isn't available for selection in SubtitleCreator
is there something else that I should do in order to be able to select it in SubtitleCreator?

again, I'd appreciate any help!
thanks!! :)

hi, sorry for the double/triple post :/

it's just that I haven't really found any info on my last question
and no one replied here, maybe it wasn't noticed...?
I installed a new font in Windows but it isn't available for selection in SubtitleCreator
is there something else that I should do in order to be able to select it in SubtitleCreator?
So is there a way to add a new font in SubtitleCreator?
I'd really appreciate some info on this, I've searched around but wasn't able to find any relative info :(

thanks for your time and again sorry for the repost and the trouble :/

Hi,

SubtitleCreator uses C# and MS .Net 2.0. This eases development but has a few disadvantages. One of them is that all type of fonts are not supported. This must be the case of the font you are using.

Otherwise supported fonts are automatically usable when installed in Windows.

well, bad luck I guess
the font I'm trying to use is AG Foreigner Roman, which looks quite good as I've seen and read
I'll have to use something else then

thanks for the reply :)

can you say when the support for bluray.sup is ready??

Hi,

There was no progress on this subject so far because I lack free time. You can convert your BD SUP files to HD-DVD SUP files then open them using SC.

As SC's source is open, anyone with some free time and programming skills can help.

Would a donation help? All I know about programing could be fit on the back of a postage stamp so I can't help there but I can contribute in other ways. I'm sure other people can too. Subtitles are the last piece of the BD puzzle to be put together.

yes, maybe helps a donation to you!!??

you known an other programm what can convert the bd.sup files??

yes. in SupRip i can see the subs.

But i dont want to convert it to srt. because there are many languages and the OCR works not correct (german, english, french not really a problem, but greek arabic no way to convert in srt)

i need idx/sub.

is there an other prog that can BD.sup convert to HDDVD.sup??

Converting to .srt leaves a lot to be desired. You loose things like position and color. Also it's a PITA and much less reliable than simply converting to vobsub format.

Would a donation help
The problem at present is that I lack free time because I've got many things to do at home. I also had decided to concentrate my free programming time to bug fixes (there are a few annoying bugs in SC).

However if donations are made and you specify when you are donating that it's for motivating me for adding BD-sup support to SC this would of course change my priorities. But I'm a bit uncomfortable with this because I can't promise you when it'll be done. However if you donate I will put it on top of my priorities.

I would say I will try to add BD-sup support within 6 months in this case. (no guarantee, because you know life is sometimes very busy)

Done.
It's not much as I don't have much, but it's something. Maybe it will also motivate others to donate.

Having trouble with a .sup created by subread from a BD .sup. Is this a problem with SC or supread?

The stream seems extremely strange fed into suprip and confused the hell out of it also - does it look the same on the original disk? I've done a LOT with Suprip and never seen similar.

Certainly not.

Right, so the issue is probably with supread.

Here's the original from the BD BTW:

With eac3to. The tool I use for all my HD DVD and BD needs. For the record I have had this problem before with another disk but didn't mention it because I ended up not liking the movie too much and decided not to back it up yet.

I've never met any issue something like this (i use eac3to as well); missing letter recognizing with both supread and suprip...
Have you given it a go with TSMuxer for extracting the same sup?

Hi,

I'm having a look at BD-sup support following some request in this same thread. I need some short BD-SUP samples (a few subpics - less than 10 ideally). If some of you could send me such samples (PM me a rapidshare link for example), I would appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Maybe using the method pointed here: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1219733#post1219733

Using a small srt file. That would probably work?

If not possible, just send me the smaller you have.

Hi,

I tried the method I've suggested and it worked fine. It took me 1 minute to generate such a SUP file. I first muxed a Blu-Ray disc with only one srt file in it then demuxed it and got the sup file I needed.

So I don't need samples anymore as I can now generate what I need very easily.

TSMuxer is really great!

There does seem to be differences between different BD .sup's. Like the one I posted on the last page is certainly different than the average BD .sup as it doesn't work with supread while most do. So you might want to check that one out too.

I second the bluray support. I will donate right away when I get some money.

Also, I have a feature request for OCR support with Office 2007. I don't have office 2003, as I prefer 2007. I have tried OCRing with 2007 installed, and IIRC it crashes midway through the stream.

Hi,

Thanks to your donations I started coding again in order to add blu-ray sup support. I think I've done 60% of the code as I could find some free time last week. I will try to finish it earlier than written in my previous message. I hope to finish it either in late december 2008 or in january 2009.

Do you have a response for my request for office 2007 ocr support? Should I add this to the sourceforge feature request tracker?

manusse
12th December 2008, 00:03
Hi Merlin7777,

Sorry for not replying before to your question. It's a good idea to add it to the SourceForge tracker. Paddigton added the Office 2003 OCR support, so I think he could be the one adding Office 2007 OCR support in case he owns a version of Office 2007 and has some time to do it.

I have Office 2007 on my PC but at present I'm busy with Blu-Ray sup import following a lot of request and also with the integration of the German translation for the next version. So I can't promise we'll implement it soon although I'm personaly interested because I have a legal copy of Office 2007 and I noticed 2 week ago that SC can't use its OCR.

Hey Paddington.
Just tried the DVD Auothoring Wizard and it is absolutely brilliant!
It has one problem though,
It won't consider audio delay, and it creates an out of sync DVD in cases where the input DVD has audio delay.

Thanks for this great app!

¡Great app and wonderful DVD Authoring Wizard! but what about "movies" with more than one title?

I use it mainly to add new subtitles to opera DVDs. These come sometimes distributed at one title per act and the wizard seems to have being conceived for DVDs with only one title throughout, or am I mistaken? Please help !.

Thank you very much. Greetings.

Finally, I found a working solution for overlaying DVD subtitles. Source http://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=5116092

1. Download K-Lite Codec Pack 2.74 (Full)
http://www.filehippo.com/download_klite_codec_pack/tech/1350

2. When installing, select:
Deselect all
DirectShow video: DVD decoder: Cyberlink Powerdvd
DirectShow audio: AC3 decoder: AC3Filter

3. In Subtitle Creator
Select Overlay Subtitles (experimential)
Select Preferred by SC

Hi hubblec4,

I'm very sorry for being quite. However I couldn't find much time for programming but I sure will. My priority as you know is the BD-SUP files import first. As I've written before I've written 60% of the code in last december. Since december I could only spend a few hours and it's not enough. The problem I have is that I currently get an exception with my code but I can decode the BD-SUP bitmaps.

I need to find one or two days and I think I will finish it. However those days I'm busy with many other things and I know it's a pity for all SC's users.

About your request:
Would an import that converts them on the fly to SD be OK or do you need something else?

Cheers

While you're at it: most large SUB/IDX files created by BDSup2Sub are only partly imported by SC. I haven't investigates further, but at first look SC seems to skip a dozen subpictures here and there. Since there are no error messages or whatever it's hard for me to tell if this is due to a problem on my side or on yours.
