Current svn:
- switched to .NET 2.0
- added advanced options for audio and video tracks
- added support for PCM audio tracks
Please test & report ;)
Are these updates under the v47 download link on your site page? I couldn't find the v49 or v50 program download, only changelogs.

You'll miss a lot not using .NET 3.5, it's included with Win 7 and on Vista it takes only a minute or two to install since Vista has 3.0 included and the web installer for the client profile has only to grab very few files since 3.0 and 3.5 is build on top of 2.0. The client profile is a trimmed down version sufficient for this type of application.

I use Win 7 at home. But it seems that a lot people are still using XP. Atm I'm not using 3.5 features (guess that there are a lot nice new things).

It's only in the svn repository. I'll upload a test version the next days

They need to download 2.0 anyway so they might as well download 3.5 instead, the client profile versions isn't so much bigger.

What settings did you use? Untouched video?

Hawk this is an awesome program you've created here.
Blu-ray ripping has never been easier for me. I was using about 10 different programs separately to perform the same steps before. I searched all over for something exactly like this that could combine them all into one easy step. I had just about given up when I stumbled across this thread.
Thanks for all the hard work you've put into this.

Hey hawk,
Yes i used untouched audio and video. Essentially everything was raw. Sorry the post was brief; i was in a rush when i posted that, but wanted to get the report to you asap so you can utilize the data. Let me know if you have further questions.
Also, i would like to let you know how much i love the software you have developed. Having done some programming myself, i know how much work goes into this kind of thing. I really appreciate your interaction with myself and others, and the great software utility youve developed. Keep it up! My biggest issue so far is i still can't get linear pcm(raw audio i forget what its actually called) to work yet. It is accepted in the test version, but failed last i checked. I may try and re-rip tomorrow and post the error.
Anyway thanks again.

I fixed a bug in the new mux dll. I'll upload a fixed version today.
.pcm Tracks should be converted to .ac3 by default or stored as .pcm when using untouched audio.
But I don't have a Bluray with such a track to test..
So if it still doesn't work maybe I can fix it if you post the log..

Ahh i see, that would make debugging difficult. Yea ill find one presently and upload in a few minutes.
Now just to clarify, you are saying the .pcm tracks on untouched audio should be stored as a track on the .mkv file, NOT as a separate demuxed file, correct?
Also, a small bug i have noticed (not a big deal at all), is that tracks require two clicks two select and deselect. Maybe this is by design? Anyway, im ripping pirates of the carribean (has a .pcm track) now and will test as well as submit output if a bug is present. If it completes, ill let you know.

Its not done ripping, but this caught my eye as a potential bug. Not really sure. but its highlighted in bold above. This is the line of code:

Here is the bug report. It has been heavily edited (in terms of total amount of lines). However, i left notes as to what i removed simply because it was redundant data that made the report over 20 pages long. Also, i boldfaced all of the lines that seemed more relevant. However, i very well may have missed things that you would deem important; hopefully it helps nonetheless.
file is attached.
Note: I find this waiting on an administrator to approve my bug report to be rather tedious; after all we dont want to leave hawk bored and without bug reports :) As a result, i have hosted the file here:

Not really, no. But I can tell you what Mediainfo says of the file, would that help?

Found this in _encode.avs: Crop(0,-4,-0,--4)
Shouldn't that be Crop( 0, 4, 0, -4) instead?
update: edited the _encode.avs so Crop has parameters ( 0, 4, 0, -4) and pasted the encoding line from blurip log into command prompt, pressed enter... and x264.exe started encoding the file.

Did you use DGDecNv? I made a test right now and had some similar error. DGIndex writes incorrect resolution to .dgi file. If you correct this by hand autocrop should work as expected.

I don't think so... but I'll double-check.

DGIndex writes incorrect resolution to .dgi file. Can you elaborate on that, please? I am not aware of any such issues. A test stream that demonstrates the issue would be useful.
Be aware that the coded frame size is what is put into the DGI file.

Will test with some other videos and make a sample.
I extracted the video with eac3to 3.18 into .mkv
I attached the screenshot from dgindex.
Last lines of .dgi file are:

Run eac3to on its own against the appropriate title (probably "1)" although look for whatever has the same runtime as the movie) with the -check parameter. This will limit the possible sources of error to eac3to and the ripped files - and the second is the far more likely case. Remember that Avatar uses the latest BD+, but I'm not sure how slightly dated versions of AnyDVD or DVDFab report failing to decrypt the newest protection, if in fact they would do so at all in this case...

alright i will try that. I deleted the post, as after a bit of thought i decided it wasnt related to blurip. Dvdfab claims on their website that it does support avatar. It didnt work yesterday, and today it does so im assuming thats worked out. The m2ts file looked good (audio, video etc.) However, the error seemed to be with subtitle integrity, and i couldnt check that in the m2ts format. Im reripping one more time just to see what happens. Ill try running the eac3to tool with the -check parameter and post results.

Well i re ripped the file, eac3to checked out. If blurip doesnt, ill post a bug. Looks like its in good shape tho.

I was messing around with the French release of District 13 Ultimatum which has a framerate of 24fps, i.e. not the traditional US 23.976fps.
Demux log reads:
[24.4.2010 19:23:36]M2TS, 1 video track, 1 audio track, 1:40:46, 24p
[24.4.2010 19:23:36] 1: Chapters, 12 chapters

[24.4.2010 19:23:36] (core: DTS-ES-96/24, 5.1 channels, 24 bits, 1509kbps, 96khz)
[24.4.2010 19:23:36] v02 The video bitstream is encoded in a non-standard framerate.
[24.4.2010 19:23:36] v02 The video bitstream framerate field doesn't seem to match the timestamps.
Is 24fps a problem for some reason, and why would the log indicate there's a problem with timestamps?

That first "non-strandard" warning is more of a "For your information" situation - eac3to handles 24.00fps content just fine. I'm not sure about the second - what happens if you demux the AVC stream to an ES and check the frame rate of that with eac3to?

Oops! Instead of the original, I gave BluRip the BD-Rebuilder processed .m2ts by mistake. Here's what BluRip reports of the original file:
[24.4.2010 20:37:07] M2TS, 1 video track, 1 audio track, 1:40:46, 24p
[24.4.2010 20:37:08] 1: Chapters, 12 chapters

[24.4.2010 20:37:08] v02 The video framerate is correct, but rather unusual.
I should probably let jdobbs know about this issue.

Yes, please do. Again, the "rather unusual" warning is just madshi's way of explaining that most film content is 23.976, not 24.

hi.
I have installed Blurip (v0.4.7) today and attempting to make my first 1080p mkv rip.
I can't seem to find the "Advanced video options" menu that allows me to set a custom resolution. How can I access it?
Thanks

hi.
I have installed Blurip (v0.4.7) today and attempting to make my first 1080p mkv rip.
I can't seem to find the "Advanced video options" menu that allows me to set a custom resolution. How can I access it?
Thanks
It's in version 0.4.8. This version is still in test phase - I will upload a new test build today.

Will test with some other videos and make a sample.
I extracted the video with eac3to 3.18 into .mkv
I attached the screenshot from dgindex.
Last lines of .dgi file are:
SIZ 720 x 480
FPS 24000 / 1001
CODED 199037
PLAYBACK 199037
0.00% FILM Can you please post a sample stream that I can use to duplicate this? Thank you.

Can you please post a sample stream that I can use to duplicate this? Thank you.
I will try to create a sample. I think that the stream is corrupt at the end. If I split at the beginning, the samples work as expected.

Even a corrupt stream is fine. There should be no way the GUI and the DGI file disagree like that.

hey hawk,
just ran a test of boondock saints II on the latest version. Just thought i would let you know that everything went well. I dont know if you updated the code in terms of efficiency, but it was very fast. All of i have to test is a pcm track. Hopefully tonight. Coursework seems to be getting in the way of that elusive task.
Anyway, the new build seems as stable as .4.7 again. Great Work!!

I noticed that you added debugging dialog to mention a lack of forced subtitles. However, is this supposed to appear even in movies without any need for them? Or would it only appear on films that should have them? Not sure what to make of that "error". However, I ripped a second title and it went well. Will move on to pirates of the carribean shortly.

What exactly didn't work? Took a short look but didn't find it.

The issue was that the file simply didnt get created or wasnt there. Maybe i selected an incorrect directory or something? Ill rip one more and see if i get the same result. Sorry, i didnt realize the bug report was 60 pages! I just copied and pasted.

Hey Hawk,
This is the latest bug report I have generated. I think the issue lies in the subtitle processing code. Rather than the program just posting an error regarding forced subtitles not being found and moving forward (Which is a bug in and of itself i think; all necessary subtitle tracks were selected), it is actually cancelling the operation and then reporting back that the file was converted. However, what is more interesting is that the file is not even in the directory (with a size of 0 kb); it flat out doesnt exist. Im not sure why this is. I would take a good look at your subtitles code though.
hopefully this helps.
(The only issue that may be on my end, is I have copied my settings.xml back and forth between .4.8 and .4.7 for convenience. Let me know if this is possibly an issue.)

I am currently testing this file in .4.7. However, i dont expect any errors as that version seems stable. (I understand that new code is never stable; hence all of my wonderful bug reports :))
p.s. does anyone know how to post inside a "code" window or something, so i dont need to do attachements?
