Could you upload the log at rapidshare/pastebin or something? Could you also send me the demuxed_streamlist.xml and your settings.xml?

If I recall having TMT3 installed won't allow eac3to to create two tracks when the original track is DTS-HD. I always grab the HD Audio track and create a secondary AC3 track. TMT3 crapped this out. My temporary way around this was to create the mkv with just the HD Audio track, and then when done use Popcorn MKV Converter to add the AC3 track. I ended up just uninstalling TMT3 from my desktop PC so I don't have this issue anymore.

Yes, it just adds a second AC3 track. Here is a writeup I did a while ago regarding:

I'm having the same problem, when i try to do a 1080p source it demuxes the video ,audio and subs but then stops... it doesn't create a single MKV with them.

I've attached the log

I took a look at the log:

[10/7/2010 9:58:28 PM] Exception: Cannot load avisynth.dll

Seems that there is a problem with avisynth. You will need the 32-bit version. You can still use 64-bit x264 with avs2yuv.

If you edit the advanced audio options for this track you can keep the hd audio track and let BluRip add an additional ac3 track. No need for any external processing..

IGNORE the last post pls + what`s attached to this one, i was trying to delete my previous post but couldnt see how

I took a look at the log. It seems that you used ".mkv" as prefix.
Maybe x264 won't open a file with two points in it. Try to use a prefix without special chars..

Thanx for a super cool GUI, have been using it to rip my Blu-Ray collection to my unRAID server, for playback on my HDI Dune Base 3.0, and it has been working great, and get's the job done, but I have one question / feature request;

Could you please make it possible ( or ad the option as an advanced setting ) to re arrange the audio and the subtitles ?

I know that you can choose a default audio and subtitle track, that kind of does what I want, but most standalone players, don't support that feature, and they default to first audio and subtitle track.

The reason I request this feature is that I always keep both the English and Danish ( I live in Denmark ) subs and audio, when available, and I would like to be able to re arrange the order of the audio and subs to my liking :)

I don't know if it is possible or if it is to time consuming, but hey, I had to ask :)

Best Regards
Dennis

The audio and subtitle tracks are sorted based on your prefered language settings. If your order is danish/english the danish track(s) (if there is mroe then one) are first then the english ones. If you uncheck the "Mux" step on the start tab you can change the order of tracks in the demux streams windows then then mux. I hope this is the thing you wanted ;)

I don't know what is going on but I tried to convert a m2ts file (27 GB) today and stopped at 10 GB more than a hour, indicating it was not working. MakeMKV also failed to work on these decrypted files saying that AnyDVD did something on them, but they are all fine and can be perfectly played on MPC-HC.

Is there a way to find out what is going on with these files? Or that single file? I am out of options, don't know what other software can convert m2ts > mkv with no reencode.

@Lincoln Burrows

Hi! MakeMKV also failed to work on these decrypted files saying that AnyDVD did something on themJust use ONLY MakeMKV (Have AnyDVD turned completely off) to make a backup of your original, commercial DVD (either FULL DISC Blu-ray or .MKVs of individual .M2TS "Movie only" files)...

Lincoln Burrows
16th October 2010, 06:44
This is what is going on with this disc:
http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?p=205282

It is not AnyDVD's or any other software's fault... The disc is either dirty or damaged somehow. Now it's explained why Blurip stopped at the middle of the movie.

I will check this problem more thoroughly from now on, it's really annoying to think after a successful decryption with AnyDVD you can't convert anything later. I guess AnyDVD and similar programs are not the only and realiable way of making sure those discs are fine, we need to convert the files later... Damn it!

This is what is going on with this disc:
http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?p=205282 Based on your posting at the Slysoft Forum, it looks like the problem was clearly defined for you way back in June 2009.

Did I misunderstand you - or do you have a different question?

Lincoln Burrows
16th October 2010, 16:31
This is not my post, it was another post with the same problem, the only difference is that I stopped the process because Blurip was not responding after 10 GB, so I only saw those entries in the generated log, they were only inserted on this logfile after the first half of the movie:

The source file seems to be damaged (sync byte missing).
The source file seems to be damaged (sync byte missing).
The source file seems to be damaged (sync byte missing).
The source file seems to be damaged (sync byte missing).

Hundreds of times.

BTW, I tried one last approach this time with DVDFab Decrypter (Copy BD > Main Movie only). I saved the huge m2ts without the undesired additional tracks, and it worked. A 23 GB m2ts was created. However, MakeMKV failed again with this (and no reason was given), but Blurip worked. There's only one problem that I didn't realized until now: Blurip MKV has 21 GB, 2 GB less than the m2ts generated by DVDFab. *

* The MKV is smaller for that reason (if you know what I mean - one of the main streams from the movie is missing):

http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/5033/imagemvuv.png

Is that OK or should I be worried? If I remember correctly you told me to select both tracks (DTS-HD MA lossless and core, if I wanted a perfect copy from the Blu-ray disc saved on Matroska) and Blurip doesn't look like is doing that when muxing.

Jeff Flowerday

I've seen "The source file seems to be damaged (sync byte missing)." a couple time when using eac3to. Ultimately it was a decryption issue with AnyDVD HD, installing a newer version when it became available fixed the problem for me.

Hi to all,

First of all congratulations for the tool. After some mistakes about the configurations of the thirdparty tools, I converted a 40 gb Bluray to 14gb so I'm very happy I will backup my bluray on my dvico tvix.

I'm converting a new movie and I take the opportunity to ask some questions because I'm newbie about all of these stuffs.

1. How do you use the "Add to Queue" button ? Before to discover the blurip application, I ripped several blurays with AnyDVD, each of them in a separate folder. Can I convert each of them without waiting until they finish?

2. What does these messages mean ?

From the subtitle LOG :
[26/09/2010 08:38:10] WARNING: palette animation: result may be erratic
[26/09/2010 08:38:10] WARNING: multiple PDS/ODS definitions: result may be erratic

3.
From the Encode LOG :
[26/09/2010 08:44:10] Command: F:\Applications\blurip\x264\x64\x264.exe --preset slow --tune film --crf 18.0 --level 4.1 --ref 4 --no-fast-pskip --b-adapt 1 "F:\Applications\blurip\work\tt_encode.avs" -o "F:\Applications\blurip\work\tt.mkv"

=> I don't modify the default selection because I don't understand these klingon parameters of the Input panel. Is there an explanation somewhere about ?

I see a profile with "slow/film/crf 18.0/lvl4.1/2-pass 10000 MB/ref 5/no-fast-pskip/b-adapt 1".

Is this one better for the video encoding because of the "2-pass 10000 MB" parameter ? I don't want to untouched the video to compress it but I'm looking for the better compressed video.

4.
My subtitles appears in black and not white on the screen. Is it normal (ie. is it a parameter or I don't have the possibility to have my subtitles written in white) ?

Thanks.

to 1)
Edit all the options you want and then hit 'Add to queue'. Select the next folder, get the stream list, edit all options (don't forget to change file prefix & output filename) and again hit 'add to queue'. If all projects are added start the queue.

2)
Just a warning from bdsup2sub. Nothing to worry. Take a look at the bdsup2sub help for detailed information

3)
see help/usefull links. There's a link to a x264 wiki.
If you want constant quality use crf (lower crf=better quality=bigger file)
If you need a specific size use 2-pass.

4) what sutitle option did you use? normally the color should't change

cocolala
23rd October 2010, 17:48
Ok I've tested this morning to ripped with "2-pass 10000 MB" the fantastic four and I don't see a difference.

so I let "preset slow --tune film --crf 18.0 --level 4.1 --ref 4 --no-fast-pskip --b-adapt 1"

For the substitles : I chose "Mux All subtitles (sub/idx)" and "Copy all substitles to sub folder " only.

GollyJer
24th October 2010, 00:17
This tool is freakin' awesome! Thanks.

If I just want a completely uncompressed copy of my desired video and audio I select "use untouched audio" and "use untouched video". Should I also check both "Mux untouched subtitles" and "copy untouched subtitles"? Or is mux alone enough? Or is copy alone enough. Thanks.

_hawk_
24th October 2010, 09:26
Pgs in mkv is relatively new. Some players don't support it at all or have some problems. So it might be usefull to mux sub/idx but copy the pgs subs so you can remux them at a later time.

cocolala
24th October 2010, 15:38
_hawk_ ,
the encoding profile proposes crf 18, 19 and 20 but the help shows that "It's up to you to decide which rate-control mode is better for your circumstances."
How do you conclude that the Constant Ratefactor should be on this range while the help shows a default value = 23 ?
Correct if I'm wrong, but I don't see an explanation about the better choice between the 18 or 20 value. Do we have to be far from 23 that would mean that crf=18 is the better choice ?

For the subs the problem is my tvix 6500, perhaps a little bit old, because on my PC they appear white. I think I will buy a shuttle and use Windows media center or Xbmc.

_hawk_
24th October 2010, 19:46
It's just a personal preference. crf 18 is almost like the original but still reduces a 40gb mkv to less then 12gb in most cases. Maybe I won't notice the difference between a crf 18 and 23 encode. If you're happy with 23 just take it :)
You won't find _the right_ encoding profile somewhere.

I'm using tsMuxeR for demuxing BD disks for quite some time and latelly I came across blurip. It looks like a nice tool and I decided to give it a try. The tool has at least 2 advantages over tsMuxeR - sensible naming convention and extracting chapters. However, I noticed few problems that I would like to ask about:

1. It is at least 4-times slower then tsMuxeR at demuxing (42 min. vs 12 min.). Did anyone notice it? Can something be done?

2. When demuxing video the tool packs it into mkv container. I'm sure there is a good reason for it, however I would like to use this tool for demuxing only and with video in mkv I would need to go through one extra step - extracting the raw stream from the container and this additionally slows down the process. Would it be possible to leave video in its raw .264/vc1/mpeg form somewhere?

It seems that this tool has great potential, but could you consider addressing these concerns in future versions.

:thanks:

_hawk_

@1) Blurip uses eac3to to demux. It might be slower because of all the audio convert options. Never compared the speed yet.

2) I can add an option to demux to x264/vc1 without encoding.

I have a suggestion here. It would be nice to have channel configuration in audio file names, for example instead of

_003_audio_dts_English.dts

have something like

_003_audio_dts51_English.dts

The configuration part could be something like 10, 20, 32, 51, 71, etc.

I also sent this in a PM..

I'd like to see the ability to add items to the queue after you've started processing.

Sometimes I don't have all the discs ripped before I want to start encoding. Since I have a fairly beefy machine dedicated to encoding video, I'd like to be able to keep it busy...

Thanks!

I added an option to not demux to .mkv (advanced video options)
Also a number reflecting the audio channels is added to the audio filename (like ..ac3_51_english.ac3)

It seems that Blurip doesn't encode video correctly using the last x264.exe (revision 1745) or is it something else !

A Strange thing is happening. I'm wondering anyone else has the issue.

I'm ripping a movie at uncompressed full quality...
"use untouched video"
"use untouched audio"
"Mux untouched subtitles"
...and selecting only the English versions from the stream.

This is a cartoon. When the movie plays the video and sound are perfect and in English but onscreen words are in Spanish. It isn't the subtitles that are wrong, its the text used within the movie. For example a TV on screen shows the name of the movie on it's screen and it's in a different language.

I'm not sure how to trouble shoot this issue so thought I would post and see if anyone else has run into it. Thanks.

Does the language change if you use another subtitle? Maybe the text is hardcoded.
It also may be possible that there are discs that report a wrong language for some streams.

I noticed that BluRip uses some kind of non-standard widgets-controls and/or themes.

Is there a way to disable these - and use standard widgets-controls - via command-line options and/or an ini file or registry key?

The reason I want this, is that I am running Windows 7 in a VirtualBox virtual machine. VirtualBox does not support Direct3D/Aero (yet).

When I start the program, its main window never finishes drawing itself for the first time, and the program becomes unresponsive.

When I start the program, its main window never finishes drawing itself for the first time, and the program becomes unresponsive.

Was the settings.xml created? Try to change the skin to 'classic' (<skin>classic</skin> at the end of the file). If that works, I'll set classic as default skin in next version.

Hello dear members and author of blurip,

im not at windows computer so i cannot tell you exact message, but im wondering what i need to do to be able to mux only specific video, audio and subtitle.

it says someting that videofilename is not set? where should i set it?

and on 0.5.1 version theres tabs removed, that means that like only demux only mux etc is not possible in 0.5.1 or it is? if yes what should i do to enable those tabs to see?

You need to fill out all fields on output tab (except the optional video path).
Check View/Show advanced options - then you will see the only mux/only encode etc buttons on the start tab.
