These are branched discs. The 1:47 minutes is the UNCUT version. It can't be done as these ones, only with clown BD and replacing the original clpi and mpls. This is what I was saying in my previous post. You only get to keep one. Some discs have 2 large m2ts, one for each version of the movie, but the majority are branched. So, clown BD + tsMuxer + replacing.
Most often the choice to select the version is when you hit the play button. It will open a submenu with : Theatrical, Unrated etc. When I wrote the guide, I wrote to replace the original mpls with some reason. I've tested about 100 discs ( 70+ ) before I dared to write a line in here. So I think it's pretty documentated. So, in majority of cases is best to replace the mpls. In cases of IGS menu, is best to keep them, or to edit the original mpls with 10 minutes INTime.
LE: You have 2 mpls, so you'll have to replace them both. You will rename 0000x.mpls resulted from tsmuxer to 0000y.mpls and replace the mpls with the theatrical version. This thing is done so that the disc won't choke or stop if you hit by mistake theatrical version button in the menu. You will have to delete the remainin m2ts files, aswell as the corresponding clpi files. This is just for BDInfo purposes. If you don't do that, the disc won't be recognized by bdinfo. And for space for that reason, you can't have all those unuseful m2ts files lying around.

ye, I am just curious as to the way those playlists are. I actually wrote it wrong before.
Its like :
Version 1

2
3
4
5
6
7
8
9
Version 2
21
2
23
4
25
6
27

29
....does it make any sense? its not like version2 has some added files that would be like edited/cut scenes. It's liek every other file it uses a different one...does not make much sense to me. Right now I am making an ISO of the original BD just to watch is and see which version it auto-plays and if there is any choice in the menu/popup menu to change version that I missed...

Yes, it makes sense, those extra m2ts are the extended scenes. As you see, instead of seven is 27, an extended cut of the same scene. That's why they are called branched.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seamless_branching To understand better what seamless branching is.

well, I watched the origina\l bluray and there is no way to access the version2.....unless there is an easter egg or something....
I also watch the first m2ts of each version and it seems its almost the same stuff (5secs difference) but arranged a little differently. For example,version 1 starts with a scene in a house and showing the name of the movie, actors etc, and after 3 mins it goes to a scene in a clinic. In version 2 it starts from the clinic and later on it goes to the same scene in the house.....
Weird stuff, what's the point if you can't access version2 from the menus anyway? whatever, I'g gonna work with version1 since it seems the intended one to play and the one I got subs for.

After I'm done with the animated menu in multiAVCHD I'll try to post a tool (which will be included in multiAVCHD's package) remuxBD - it should be able to do all discussed in this thread + blanking unwanted features (for Blu-ray HDMV only with IGS/POP-UP menus muxed as a separate m2ts or for Blu-ray BD-J with java menus).
I created a small pcopy.exe (partial copy) tool yesterday, which allows me to create 100% copies of original blu-ray discs (using just 2-3 mins of the actual blu-ray video files) and thus suitable for performing quick tests (getting a 50GB disc down to 1GB).
I also believe that it is possible to convert Blu-ray HDMV discs to Playstation 3 FAT32 limited USB storage (avchd) by splitting the main movie in 4gb chunks and recreating playlist and clipinfo files. :eek: But that will be something to play with further down the road. The idea is to keep everything 100% the same, but apply the changes only to playlists/clipinfo files linked to media files (m2ts) bigger than 4GB. :)

@deank Maybe that tool can include this guide too, to be one click mode, so to speak. A few weeks ago you said that it would be possible to automate this guide. It would be excellent ( and I think I am not the only one who thinks this ) that remuxBD to incorporate this method of remuxing discs. It is possible for tsmuxer to split to 4 GB files and create the corresponding mpls/clpi. It will be just a thing of replacing the original ones.
http://thumbnails27.imagebam.com/6190/f9c9ae61898024.gif (http://www.imagebam.com/image/f9c9ae61898024) I have a BD that I was going to remux after the holidays, to add my subtitle and I'll try this and report mpls/clpi mode of creation. Maybe I'll try it even tomorrow, if I'm not too drunk after New Year's eve. :)

I'm not really sure what your request is. I'll either publish remuxBD or add the functionality to multiAVCHD (which has most of the things ready to use - like adding/removing streams).
It would require user to remove unwanted streams, add external if desired and one will get a new folder with the newly remuxed blu-ray structure, ready to burn (without any changes to the original folder).
For example while testing, I got my Ghost Rider Blu-ray from 40+GB to 23GB (with original menus and popups and all), suitable for burning to BD25 and all in less than 30mins.

With that tool incorporated in mutiavchd to be a new TAB, only for re-authoring blu-ray discs, to make use of tsmuxer with the same sets of operations described in this guide. So people can:
Replace subtitle streams;
Replace audio streams;
Remove unwanted trailers and other commercials;
Set as first play the menu;
The subtitle stream to be converted by the same system tsMuxer uses.
Change IN_OUT tine of mpls and calculate for the rest of the chapters.
Set the number of mpls and m2ts to be created and linked in the mpls and clpi.
Basically, a new section of multiavchd called Disc Re-Authoring.
Or, better yet, the standalone tool to do all that.
On the other hand, it is possible to automate your GUIDE with a simple tool that will do everything that you described.
LE: I've tested the split function in tsMuxer. Works like a charm. The way I did it:
1. Inserted original mpls in tsmuxer.
2. Replaced the subtitle stream I wanted.
3. In Split & Cut I chose Split by size every 4 GB.
4. In Blu-Ray Tab I chose the number of the original mpls, in my case 10 and ( this is very important so the m2ts name files won't overlap ) as first m2ts file a number that I don't have in my stream folder ( 800 ).
5. It resulted from a 11 gb m2ts: 3 m2ts files ( 00800, 00801, 00802 ), one mpls ( 00010 ) and 3 clpi files ( 00800, 00801, 00802 ).
6. I deleted the original m2ts, mpls and clpi file and I've replaced them with the resulted ones.
7. The disc works like a charm, everything is functional, menus, pop-ups, chapters, everything.
The only limitation that I see is that pop-up menus won't work anymore for IGS menu discs, because with splitting we will be forced to replace the original mpls and clpi. Here, maybe you will find an easier way to copy the pop-up information from the original mpls to the edited one without the need of hex editing. So I dare to say that it can be done for PS3 too, with this little IGS problem. Java menus will work either way.

31st December 2009, 18:52
Okay :) Let's go further... Send me the original mpls file and the new one and I'll try to send you an edited one, which should make pop-up work.
crl2007
31st December 2009, 18:59
That you will have to wait till I'll get my hands on an IGS menu disc. This one was a java one. I'll search one these days and I'll send the edited and original mpls for you to do hex magic on them. :D
deank
31st December 2009, 19:01
Well it is not just HEX is such cases, but still :)
Don't worry - I'll try it on my blu-ray title... I just have ~10GB free space left in all of my drives and am not able to do a complete remux at the moment...
Surely I'll find some more space tomorrow and will give it a try, then will let you know. I think it will all work :) anyway.

If you do succeed with your IGS title, then you must continue these steps
JAVA BASED MENUS:

6. I deleted the original m2ts, mpls and clpi file and I've replaced them with the resulted ones.
7. The disc works like a charm, everything is functional, menus, pop-ups, chapters, everything.
IGS BASED MENUS:
@work by deank
And we'll have a simple method for PS3 owners too. That's why I like doom9 forum, everybody works together.
deank
31st December 2009, 19:19
It will work, because I already did it with the re-encoded to 1280x720 main title/movie...
I decided to try it now with the original video before going out... But that's even easier than the one I posted about few days ago :) The problem is that pop-up won't work in PS3 when AVCHD mode is engaged (but it will work if you burn to a BD25/BD50 disc).
crl2007
31st December 2009, 19:51
Yeah, that's the goal, to re-author it as a BD5/BD9 and not as AVCHD. In order to do that ( after achieving the desired size ) the steps I wrote are the easiest way to do it. Of course, it is for you to fill the hole for mpls editing, to copy the pop-up information from the original mpls in the edited one. And, ofc, to teach us all how to transfer that information.
deank
31st December 2009, 20:01
Oh, no... We're not going for BD5/BD9. There is a great application already - BD-Rebuilder. What I'm trying to accomplish is to get an original Blu-ray disc reauthored with blanked features to fit a BD25 without any re-encoding and just in few minutes *plus* the ability to transfer it to a USB HDD for Playstation3.
***
edit: Yep, it worked just fine and the POP-UP menu appeared just fine after I edited the new mpls :)
In fact, I did it in reverse :) - just used the original full-movie playlist, split @4GB, edited the mpls to get the IGS popup, and copied menu m2ts+clpi. This way I got a pure movie-only version of Ghost Rider with stripped unwanted streams, but with functioning menu (pop-up in this case, which is full featured main menu minus features selection) :)

That MPLS edit is a great achievement. I hope you will release the mpls editor and remuxBD as standalone applications. And if it works on PS3, it is clear that it will work on every standalone bd player. Maybe, until you post the app, you will complete those steps started by me with the method to edit the mpls for split @ 4 GB ( for IGS menu ). Of course, everybody should know that all that has been discussed here is for separate m2ts menu, not for menu included in the same m2ts as the movie.
JAVA BASED MENUS:
1. Inserted original mpls in tsmuxer.
2. Replaced the subtitle stream I wanted.
3. In Split & Cut I chose Split by size every 4 GB.

IGS BASED MENUS:
8. ... Feel free to fill in the gaps. :D
LE: I've tried on a java based disc to copy: menu m2ts, menu playlist and clpi, java scripts ( as you did with IGS ), but turns out that isn't working for java based discs. Java calls for specific playlists to be played and if these mpls aren't played, it doesn't skip to the next one. To be able to skip them, you'll have to edit the java code, to set as first play the menu mpls, or modify the IN_OUT time of every trailer, advertisement or warning mpls. Turns out that IGS menu based are more permissive ( although the menu can't be edited ) than java ones. I'll try later to make a trio for replacement ( blank m2ts, blank mpls and blank clpi ) and see if it works correctly.
HAPPY NEW YEAR! :D
LLE: I report success.
This is how my BD looks like after my try:
http://thumbnails23.imagebam.com/6198/b1cbaa61976411.gif (http://www.imagebam.com/image/b1cbaa61976411) http://thumbnails20.imagebam.com/6198/30d4b161976414.gif (http://www.imagebam.com/image/30d4b161976414) http://thumbnails23.imagebam.com/6198/710f7761976416.gif (http://www.imagebam.com/image/710f7761976416)
I have a fully functional BD without annoying trailers and warnings and extras. I replaced all the mpls files, because I don't want for it to stop when I accidentally play an extra or the movie has warnings after play. The blank video has 458ms. I've added my 11111 m2ts file and clpi and it is like a dream, all works fine. If I play an extra while watching the movie, this blank video enters for 458ms and then the movie returns. Just like the original behavior. It is important to keep the correct mpls sequence because if a mpls has no video correspondent, then the playback stops, it doesn't skip to the next mpls.
I uploaded here (http://fbx.ro/sxdjx8scbhsldsvj) an archive with blank m2ts and the clpi+mpls files for everyone to use on their java BD's. The size is about 6 kb. The original BD had 33.75GB and mine has 10,7GB ( it's a 30 minute cartoon ).

It was easier to implement it in multiAVCHD. User can alter all playlists (adding/removing audio/subtitle streams or editing chapters) or transcode some of them or blank playlists (like trailers, warnings, etc...) I guess I'll release a test build next week for you guys to check it.

Looking forward to it too. :D I'm glad you are not like other programmers and you like to experiment with new things. This fact will make multiavchd one of the greatest software on the market.
PS: Have you had any luck with the part that we've discussed over private messages ?

Well I did few tests and it seems the 'blanking' feature now works perfectly :) I have limited video material to test with, so I'd appreciate your input once I upload the test version (later).
I know that it is not possible to make a bug-free blanking/re-authoring tool in just 3 or 4 days but it is a start (and it works in my PS3, Nero and TMT).
:rolleyes:

Yes, I, personally, will test with every single disc that cames in my hands and will report eventual bugs.
As for what we've talked on PM, those are the files that need editing, hcf ones. I deleted a sequence and the letters in the menu started to shift. English was SHFTRSDF, etc. This is a new kind of java menu that calls strips of fonts. Have you tried something ? In that archive sent by me you will find a fully working menu.

I'm ready with the 'transcoding' part, too... So now user can blank features and even transcode playlists (resize from 1920x1080 to 1280x720 or else...) or reencode features to lower bitrates.
One thing left is the IGS subpath and I guess it will be ready later today :)
At the moment all m2ts, mpls and clpi files are correctly processed, numbered and everything... Original chapters are preserved, too.

Download multiAVCHD_724RC.rar (http://multiavchd.deanbg.com/multiAVCHD_724RC.rar) (Mirror #2) (http://92.247.11.202/sub/multiAVCHD_724RC.rar) (166KB) and extract it in your multiAVCHD folder. Start it and do not update if asked.
http://multiavchd.deanbg.com/multiAVCHD_rea724-1.jpg
http://multiavchd.deanbg.com/multiAVCHD_rea724-2.jpg
1) Drag/Load a Blu-ray disc folder and answer to the prompt with OK to enter "Blu-ray re-author mode".
2) Wait for the initial scan to complete (a good idea is to 'save' the project once the scan is done - this way you won't have to wait the next time you want to load the folder)
3) Open "Properties" of one of the playlists
4) Re-author your disc by doing at least one of the following:
* Blank 'fbi warnings', extras, intros, etc... (do not change the trim_end value of 1.033 - it has special meaning for blanking)
* Add/remove tracks to your main movie or features
* Cut/Trim END of a feature/main movie
* Transcode main movie or a feature
In Re-author mode it all depends on the changes you will make. In other words - if you don't change anything you will get 1:1 copy of your original blu-ray disc.
You cannot add titles (files, playlists, etc) or remove existing playlists in re-author mode. Once in this mode you can't go back to normal authoring mode and you'll need to restart multiAVCHD.
When you browse the playlists (Compilation box) you will see information if one is marked for blanking, if it contains IGS menu as a main playitem [menu MP], or as a subpath [menu SP]. In the "Playlist" tab you should see information about main playitems, sub playitems and sub-path types and their corresponding files (for IGS and TextST).
You can't blank playlists which contain menu links, but if such a playlist is the main movie or a feature then you can 'remux' it. It will be marked as [ remux ] once you change any of its properties (i.e. cut end or add/remove tracks or transcode). If you need to blank a playlist which is linked to a menu or textST subtitle m2ts - enter 1 as trim-end. Be careful what you blank, because you may break the main menu.
Once you're done, close "Title properties", click "START" and choose:
* PLAYSTATION 3
* AVCHD disc (for DVD or BD-R)
* Blu-ray
In PS3 mode you'll get output suitable for USB HDD - it means that multiAVCHD will remux all playlists which contain playitems (m2ts) files larger than 4GB.
In AVCHD mode you will get output suitable for burning to DVD or BD-R disc. You may need to remove some folders, depending on your player specific requirements.
In Blu-ray mode you will get the same as AVCHD but with the original index.bdmv file.
Introducing such feature to multiAVCHD aims mainly to make Blu-ray discs playable in Playstation3 using USB HDD (Blu-ray disc to USB HDD) without loosing any features (except the pop-up menu, which is not supported while playing from USB). If the disc is BD-J authored, Playstation 3 will not play the USB output. If you use Blu-ray mode and burn to BD-R/RE it will work.
multiAVCHD's re-author feature is in no way replacement of or can be compared to BD-Rebuilder's great features and reliability, and is also not added with an idea for competition. It should be possible to use multiAVCHD re-authored output with BD-Rebuilder, but if you do and have problems state that you used a re-authored copy, but not the original (which would usually mean a problem within multiAVCHD, but not BD-Rebuilder).
Should your re-authored copy is bigger than 25GB BD-R disc you will need to transcode the main movie. Transcoding has the same functions as in normal authoring mode. Bitrate calculations in re-author mode may not be correct (showing higher MB/GB requirements). Transcoding to lower resolution will not resize internal PGS subtitles to the new resolution.
In re-author mode features as PIP (Picture-in-Picture) are not supported (yet). Blu-ray titles, featuring alternate endings with branched playlists may or may not work as expected (either one branch will work or you will get huge oversize, having both/all versions in the final compilation). I don't have such titles to test with. TextST (subtitles) should work.
In re-author mode you can add/remove audio tracks, convert HD audio to AC3 or use the SD core of HD streams (to save space). You can add SRT/SUB/SUP/ASS/SSA subtitles, too.
Always make sure you have enough free space and that you are using NTFS partitions for TEMP and destination folders (except when using PS3 mode - then destination can be FAT32).
That's about it.
Have in mind that I coded this feature in just 2-3 days, so it may not work as expected, but please test it with all of your Blu-ray titles and get back to me with the results.
Yours as always,
Dean :)

My latest test was to re-author (remove one LPCM audio track and use DTS Core of DTS-Master of another + blanking a 30min feature to 1 second) 40GB blu-ray title with IGS attached to all playlists, directly to FAT32 USB HDD for Playstation 3 and it took ~50mins for both processing and transferring. HDD to HDD re-authoring should take less than 20 minutes.

Just click slower. Probably the preview fails when you change playlists so fast - it is not related to the reauthor mode, but I changed something, so you can re-download.

@alimao At the moment, only certain types of menu can be modified. And you have to do it manually, because there are so many variables that no one can code a program for re-authoring the menu.
LE: Tested with both java menus and igs menus. everything works as it should. Pure genius. even the split function for ps3 works like a charm and keeps the menu functional. Good work, deank.

not sure if it my system but going through each video takes anything upto a minute to refresh and load the next segment. Ram related? i only have 2gig
deank
6th January 2010, 23:38
No, it is related to the splitter for m2ts files.
Uninstall HAALI SPLITTER and then install it again, but make sure you check the boxes for MPEG-TS and MPEG-PS processing.
Let us know if this fixes it.

tried that, its still really slow. Its quicker for me to preview a bunch of m2ts im media player classic while multiavchd is opening 1. Is there any way to blank a bunch of segments rather than open them 1 at a time, blank, open next blank and instead highlight a selection and blank multiply segments at once instead as ive already previewed the segments im media player classic.

You can disable the preview in SETTINGS tab. I guess you're not using a network copy of your BD or reading it directly from the bd-rom drive... Such problem as yours is usually related to a really slow computer or a bad chain of filters/splitter for the video graph via directshow.

@deank,
Tried the new version with Harry Potter 6.
First I ran the movie through BDRB to resize it down to 23G.
I blanked out four titles, 3 warnings and a commercial trailer. Removed one of the 2CH audio tracks from the main movie. I checked each title and 1.033 was added properly to each blanked title. Set the output to AVCHD, MultiAVCHD went through the process of creating the folder structure and sized the m2ts files properly (4G). Everything looked correct in the output folder.
Copied the AVCHD folder to my USB (32G). Started playback on my PS3 player, it played the Warner logo fine, then it stoped with "Cannot play back this video, press O". This is the point where the commercial trailer is supposed to be played.
I am going to try this again, will report back any findings.

Thanks for the test.
@cwh060: The error may be caused by the way blanking is applied. Try without blanking all, but just some of the warning videos. Does the compilation play in your PC/Nero/TMT? Re-download the .rar before you try again. Also try not to 'blank' a title, but to use Trim End: 1. There were some important changes/fixes in the last few hours, so please re-download the application.

@k-c-ksum At my end everything works with the speed of light. Every playlist is analyzed in a few seconds, even less and the whole process ( blanking, adding an external subtitle ) took about 26 minutes. As deank said, your problem originates from filters/splitters or a slow computer.
http://thumbnails20.imagebam.com/6270/2d4f9c62698726.gif (http://www.imagebam.com/image/2d4f9c62698726) As you can see, on another disc, 25 gb = 14 minutes to blank unwanted trailers, intros and to add a subtitle stream.
@deank solved with the preview too. Installed K-lite. I was running on minimal filters ( ffdshow + haali + coreavc ).
