anyone know good setting to encode with ERMP for a filesize of 70mb-85mb

New Rate Control (RC) aka "Elysian" would be the safest. Key points include:

- Video Codec = RealVideo 10
- Click [RV10/9 Settings...] and:
- Check "Use New Rate Control"
- Check "Use Two Pass" and Select "1st & 2nd"
- Check "Target Video Size" and input the number in KB
- Set "Source fps * 1000" as it should be (eg 23976)

Also, from my experience, I'd check "encodeAllFrames"
B Frames=3 should be ok

as far as i know using the new rc automatically means "encode all frames", no?
just making sure.

karl_lillevold? :)

Honestly I'm not sure. While ago I got a bad result (frames dropped when they shouldnt be), and the movie got jumpy, without <encodeAllFrames type="bool">true</encodeAllFrames> but it might have been the DropDupe thing (which I now disabled too).

Hi,

What is the difference between the audio code "RA 10 Plus" and "RealAudio 10"?

Sirber
18th May 2006, 02:59
encodeAllFrames only work with the old rate control. the new rc does not drop frames. the use of dropdupe is not recommended with both rate control, since with the old one, you can miss subtil mouth moves and it's useless with the new one.

Ah, I see. Thanks for the reply

I have one other question. Does using the deinterlacing filter in this program degrade the overall quality of the video?

Thanks

Does using the deinterlacing filter in this program degrade the overall quality of the video?
Yes, it does. it removes half the horizontal lines and makes the image blurier. Best use AVISynth for that, not producer.

When you say use "AVISynth" do you mean in use it in "Easy RealMedia ProducerV1.94"?

I have no clue about ERMP, I have clues about producer and avisynth ;)

Hey I was just wondering would it be OK to install ERMP along with XP Codec Pack (http://www.xpcodecpack.com/).

Which should I install first ERMP then XP or the other way around.

BTW, I have ERMP 1.85 here. ;)

Thanks for any help, people. :D

EDIT:

I wanted to add that I'm currently using windows 98. If I had WinXP I would be thinking about codecs I would have installed the Detritus Player Pack in a heartbeat.

What is the difference between "New Rate Control" checked and undefined/grey checked?

karl_lillevold
12th September 2006, 18:13
checked: use New Rate Control (recommended)
undefined: default = Old Rate Control

Seraphic-
12th September 2006, 19:15
Hi karl,

One thing I found is that when it's "undefined" it uses a higher bitrate then if it's "checked". Most of the time, this seems to make the end video have higher quality.

Also, how will Real Video 11 compare to DivX, XviD, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, H.264, and X264 AVC? And is there any chance it will be optimized for video game encodes?

Last, I have a lot of highly complex raw avi's (deinterlaced correctly) that i've been testing with. If you ever what any of them to test with let me know. And I would be happy to use them to help test RealVideo 11 beta or something.

Thanks

I use ERM-Producer 194 and I got some questions

1.If I check the option 'shapest image' will this sharpen the source-video?
Or will it just try to maintain the sharpness of the source video (no additional shrpening will occur)?

2. If I wanted to sharpen the source-video using the avisynth feature
(if even nessecary if 'sharpest image' will aslo work)
What do I have to type in that avisynth-box under avisynth/more?

3. What does that option DropDup do?
Shall I leave it on when converting avis to rmvb or not?

4. I encoded some avis to rmvb and they seem to have very nice quality.
But now I have no sound???
I used ra10 96 stereo, but neither bsplayer or any other player plays back the sound..
I do have realaudio dlls installed (maybe they are old?)

5. What is the difference between choosing video: RealVideo 10 + EHQ mode,
and RealVideo 9 + EHQ mode?

Thanks for any helpfull comments ;)

It is great software, this ermp package. Very easy to use.
I just need to understand some of the settings thats all ;)
RMVB is pleasing to my eyes.

Keep it up redcheek!

the default one? I just try this cuz it seems to be better quality for real media than realanime. I havent touch anything on settings except for avisynth. Since Easy RealMedia is build with it. But it does not even work at all :(

The command line with this seems to be different than the one I used for RealAnime.

At last i am able to post here!!

Okay i have been using ERMP for nearly over a month now... and advertising your software on quite some anime forums (not forgetting to give all credit to you guys)... i have even made a tutorial of how to use it. But you see most of the people using it at these forums are noobs to video conversion, including me when it comes to rmvb... I have some questions that needs to be answered, some are mind and some are from other members there! Quite some people are relying on my post!

1. What is better to use CBR or VBR, like which one will give out a better quality (i use CBR because i have total control on the output file size)?

2. Can i use this software to convert directly from MKV/OGM to RMVB, without having to convert it to AVI? (I normally use VDMod to convert to AVI then use ERMP to convert ro RMVB, which is tiring and endless)

3. I see that Vobsub comes with the software... is it possible to add external subs to the RMVB? If it is a command line... can you tell me what to write and where to write...

4. I have a 3.00GHz P4 and 512MB of RAM and it takes me 35 to 40 mins to convert a 25min ep... is it normal? can i reduce that conversion time. (settings used are around 375Kbps CBR, Sharpest Image, RealVideo 10 and the rest default)

I am really noob and i would really like some detailed info... thank you for helping me. Also best rmvb conversion software ever. RMVB has never been so pleasent to watch... 95% close to AVI quality... :D

People, I call Karian Santos ' and this is my first post in this forum, forgives which wants confusion that I have caused.

use the ERMP has a good time, but now I am only trying to go for the part most advanced of software, as I am Brazilian - yes, I love soccer - I still do not have a good English.

I wait to help in that it will be able to help galera here of the forum and since already I want to thank vocês for the attention.

I have two questions

Plugin has some to improve encoder of the ERMP

Where I can find a tutorial manual or that says the meanings to me of the options of button "RV10/9 setting…" a small description of each one of the options already is enough.

obs:the majority of link for pages, post, turorial, plugins of this topic stops backwards is broken.

[ cote]1.What is to better you uses CBR or VBR, like which one will give out to better quality (i uses CBR because i have total control on the output file size)[/quotes ]
I use the VBR because it better divides the size of the frames, preventing that a frame is with more kbps that the necessary one.

[ cote]2.Can i uses this software you convert directly from MKV/OGM you the RMVB, without having you convert it you the AVI(I normally uses VDMod you convert you the AVI then uses ERMP you convert ro RMVB, which is tiring and endless)[/cote ]

I do not know if it reads this extenção, but you can simulate false avi using the Avi-Wrapper.

[ cote]3. I see that Vobsub you eat with the software… is it possible you add eXternal subs you the RMVBIf it is command line… can you tell me what you the write and where you the write… [/cote ]

yes it can, the legends has to the same have name of the video for this.

[ cote]4.I have 3.00GHz P4 and 512MB of RAM and it takes me 35 you the 40 mins you convert 25min ep… is it normalcan i reduce that conversion teams (settings used ploughs around 375Kbps CBR, Sharpest Image, RealVideo 10 and the rest default) [/quotes ]

the quality of the archive is proportional to the quality, this says that you are placing much quality in the archive.
I go to pass two archives one with sufficient quality and another one that wheel rapid - it has led - in the PC, is enough to load using the button load.
http://rapidshare.com/files/5668636/70.85mb.emp.html

http://rapidshare.com/files/5669064/anime.emp.html

http://rapidshare.com/files/6541948/ed__PDD-Raw_GOD_SPEED_LOVE_SAMPLE_.rmvb.html
where I can obtain ones script to improve the quality of the colors in encoder

It would like that the excessively using ERMP cometasem it on these configurations.
