When I join 2 videos, the videos don't join but rather just get muxed into the same MP4 file and playback at the same time.
This only happens if either video is longer than 5 mins.
Could you try directly with the command line please ? btw, what kind of formats are these videos ?
I have not used YAMB 2 for a while.... Which "tagger" should we be using. And is really necessary to install a tagger?
MP4box...it's enough. ;) No extra tool anymore. I just dropped AtomicParsley but if some other people need it or any other I can reintroduce this tagger.

I still get the same results.
Both are H264/AAC videos in the MP4 container.

mmh...try without specifying the temp dir. I thought it was corrected but I might be wrong.

ok...so it seems to be an issue with MP4box then. I'll try to make some tests on my side and I'll report the bug in the SF bugs tracker.

In fact, it's an issue with MP4Box I think...try to specify a temp directory which doesn't have spaces (ex: C:\tmp\ or C:\SeeMoreDigital\...) and test once again.
@themostestultimategenius : some random questions for you...
1/ which player/MP4 splitter did you use ?
2/ which MP4Box version did you use ?

1. Haali + MPC or VLC
2. The one that came with 2.0.0.7 ( Good work on it too btw =) )

So, all I can say, it's that the files you want to join/concatenate must have the same settings otherwise that doesn't work properly.

All my files were encoded with the same settings. =\
MP4Box doesn't like me.

Thanks...unfortunately, it's a bug from MP4Box. Concatenation fails with video streams. I'm reporting the bug on SF.

Hi Kurt,
Is there any possibility you can add an option that can enable MPEG-4 Part-2 streams to be muxed "without" OD and BIFS tracks?
The tracks are totally unnecessary for playback in stand-alone players ;)
Kurtnoise
9th August 2007, 20:02
mmh...iirc, we can't do that during the mux. You have to remove them in a 2nd step. I'll check it later.
Anyway, sap should be smarter than that to support efficiently the standard...

Thanks Kurt for the great work.
Everytime I have container issues using MeGUI or whatever, I turn to YAMB and problems are solved. Truly you are a great part of the best video community on the web! Thanks!

....Anyway, sap should be smarter than that to support efficiently the standard...As far as I know, yes they can.
However, those NeroDigital guys decided to drop the idea for use with NeroDigital Certificated players.

@Dayvon : thank you..:)

@themostestultimategenius: yesterday, I uploaded your sample for Jean LeFeuvre, the main GPAC dev, and he told me that your samples aren't the same (just differ to one byte...). That's why concatenation failed whereas with other samples that worked flawlessly. This morning, he has added a workaround to MP4Box to enable concatenation without checking the config for each tracks (blahh...this doesn't mean we should use it every time). Let me know if you want to test it...I can update my last build to do that.

Thanks. It works now ^^
Thanks to the GPAC people too =)
MP4Box crashes at the end of concatenation. But the video still gets joined.
By the way, is there anyway to join videos with different settings?
foxyshadis
1st September 2007, 21:07
Different formats have restrictions, like AVC requires unique PPS and SPS in each segment. You're also at the mercy of the decoder, quite a few just go black or crash if you combine videos with different dimensions and other legal changes.
themostestultimategenius
2nd September 2007, 04:49
I mean like Part 1 is encoded with X264 CQ22 and Part 2 is CQ25. The rest of the settings are the same. Dimensions and all.
*Still kind of noob about all these haha.
foxyshadis
2nd September 2007, 22:50
Only if you've used the --sps-id option, otherwise the default quant values of each segment will conflict. Unfortunately, I don't know of a tool to change the sps/pps after encoding, but that'd be something useful for h264_info.

Just download Yamb 2.0.0.7 and test.
But i found a problem. When i tried to create a mp4, .h264 file is never shown on the operation window after adding it. So, i went back to try again with Yamb 1.6, .h264 file can be added without any trouble. Have anybody succefully imported h264 stream file on the new version?
Kurtnoise
5th September 2007, 03:07
your path must be too long...
ANGEL_SU
5th September 2007, 04:06
i don't think it concerns with long path. Filename & its path are very simple. Yamb 1.6 & Megui call the same mp4box.exe and work fine with the same .264 file.
Kurtnoise
5th September 2007, 07:41
If it's not paths issue, then it's related to the MediaInfo library...
but I'd say it's more related to the path or something because it works fine here.
What is your OS ?
ANGEL_SU
5th September 2007, 09:10
Yes, it's related to MediaInfo.dll. i rudely replaced the dll with Yamb1.6's, and it works!!! So, i assumed the original dll file was broken. Tried to reinstall(both exe & zip version), but the same problem occurs:confused:
my OS is M$ windows xp.

Upload a sample of your .264 file please...(needed to debug mediainfo with it)

I've a problem with this program. Either with Yamb 2.0.0.7 as Yamb 1.6.0, with MP4Box 1.4.4, I can extract the AAC 6 channels track from Quicktime 7 file. The problem is that Sony Vegas cannot get it.
It can get many other AAC files, but the AAC files from Quicktime cannot import as well...
Is there anyone who can help me?
thank you! ;)

After testing many chips, i found that h264 in avi/mkv has no any trouble, Yamb2 do all job fine. The trouble seems focus on h264 in mov. Once raw h264 extracted from mov, Yamb2 doesn't recognize, but Yamb1.6 does.
a lots of sample on Apple, such as

@Angel_su : replacing the old MediaInfo.dll by the new one (0.7.5.2), you should be able to have the stream info in the list. I just tested with the trailers you pointed out...
@klode: why not remux the aac audio stream into an mp4 ?

Hello Kurtnoise,
first of all thank you for your work on Yamb, I've been using for quite a while and it worked very well for me, at least until the latest release...
In fact, with 2.0.0.8 I've got a problem with m2v files. I use Yamb to mux mpeg2 tv captures to mp4, but when I drag m2v files on it or open them with it they don't show up in the list. No problems with audio files. I still have not tried other video formats (I don't have any other around at the moment). Could you have a look to this issue? Thanks!
Kurtnoise
20th September 2007, 19:23
it works fine here...do you run on vista ?
Also, could you try to load your file in MediaInfo GUI ?...if it works with it, just replace mediainfo.dll from Yamb by the one from the GUI.
ilpippo80
20th September 2007, 23:03
No, I'm on XP sp2 pro...
I Just downloaded mediainfo gui 0.7.5.2, and it works. I replaced the dll, and now Yamb works too! I guess I should report the bug to the mediainfo devs...
Thanks for your help!

I had the same problem with an multipart OpenDML AVI, also for some reason, MP4Box refused to mux any file with temp dir set to "C:\Temp", I fixed it by manually editing the config file and setting Tmp_path=%temp%. By the way, %temp%=="C:\Temp".

Kurtnoise13, Could you add "1:1 Square Pixel" preset under "Pixel Aspect Ratio"? "Unspecified" is not "Square Pixel". I'm asking you cause MeGUI by default don't use --sar parameter (for x264 encoder) even though the video is not anamorphic where the value should be --sar 1:1 (aka PAR=1:1). SAR/PAR, even if the stream is not anamorphic, is very important for compatibility with other software/hardware devices.
Any news about fake DAR implementation - you can use/borrow code from Aspect Ratio Signalling (ARS) Calculation Tool (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=107039) in order to obtain DAR->PAR calculation . Ask SeeMoreDigital if he has the code.

@SealTooGreat: nothing really new on this but it's on my todo list...

The one from the installer. I think I found the bug, if I set the temp from the GUI it sets it to "Tmp_path=C:\Temp\", notice the additional \, if I remove it, it works.
