Chapter list extracted from mkv : trouble.

16 chapters become 44.
Tried different files.

ok...i'll check it out.

And why not using this line to have the data?

mkvextract chapters <inname> [options]

yamb 2100 chapter extractor failed to extract correct list even from mp4 with correct list in.
Used yamb 2.0.0.8 to extract from mp4 and went ok...
Maybe implemented code to extract chaps from mkv has made a bug.

Not sure if there is anything you can do cuz it seems to be a mp4box issue but this problem still exists with the new yamb beta and the mp4box from 12/11/08. Can't mux a vobsub index subtitle (idx) with only one language. Works OK with 2 or 3, etc. but not with just 1.

@kurt,

I get a yamb mux failure when I try to mux a chapter file, h264 video stream, aac audio stream and vob style sub idx (that only contains one language) using the lastest build of mp4box. Date 04-13-08, build 19. Also using yamb 2.0.0.8 dated 02-17-08.

here is the log file from build 19:

@NorthPole: there is something wrong with your vobsub file (seems there are not usual). Sorry, I can't fix it...

@XMEN3, Oleg Rode: the bugs you have reported are now fixed. If you want a build, let me know.

I'm trying to fix the bug with ass/ssa files and I'll release a new beta after that.

I'm assuming this is the right place for YAMB but reports n stuff. I just got it from AfterDawn (2.1.0.0) and the track demuxing page doesn't work. The whole right side of the gui is chopped off. So where the input box is, it just cuts off at the right. I'm assuming there should be a browse button over there. Maximizing or resizing doesn't fix it. I also cannot type or paste into the input box. All I want to do is demux the audio (and maybe video) from a quicktime file.

you're using large DPI, right ?

did you try to drag & drop your file in the input area ?

lordadmira
4th February 2009, 08:01
My screen is 1280x960 and 120 DPI font. I assumed that was the problem since I run into bad GUI's fairly often.

The input line doesn't accept drag and drop.

Is there any way that YAMB can add the FPS information to an extracted raw h264 stream?

During extraction. I use YAMB a lot for demuxing h264 and aac from mov files. I then index the raw h264 with DGAVCIndex. If the raw h264 files doesn't have the FPS information I have to manually edit the dga file.

Yes, but I think it defaults to 25 fps if the information is not found in the file. Most of what I'm working with is 23.976.

Here (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=WAK5PSZR) is a sample raw h264 demuxed from a mov.

Hi,
I'm extracting chapters from MP4 files with YAMB 2.1.0.0_beta1 and MP4Box-0.4.6-dev_20090226 and I got a bug.
(Yes, I know, it's not stable versions, but the problem is the same with older versions.)
When I extract from the first file, it's working fine :
CHAPTER01=00:00:00.000
CHAPTER01NAME=Introduction
CHAPTER02=00:01:43.003
CHAPTER02NAME=Générique de début
CHAPTER03=00:04:02.976
CHAPTER03NAME=Première partie
CHAPTER04=00:11:18.811
CHAPTER04NAME=Deuxième partie
CHAPTER05=00:22:46.632
CHAPTER05NAME=Générique de fin
CHAPTER06=00:23:44.323
CHAPTER06NAME=La prochaine fois...

But if I hit back, select a second file and extract the chapters, I get this :
CHAPTER01=00:00:00.000
CHAPTER01NAME=Introduction
CHAPTER02=00:01:43.003
CHAPTER02NAME=Générique de début

When extracting raw streams from mov files how is it determined which stream is extracted with -raw 1 vs -raw 2? I have a mov file that extracts the video to _track1 and the audio to _track2 and I have another mov file that is opposite. Basically I'm looking for a way to determine if the video file is going to have the filename _track1 or _track2.

Kurtnoise

well...it depends how the streams have been muxed I guess. You cannot find a way to always say "my video is the 1st stream, my audio is the 2nd". That's why yamb reads the track IDs.

Will either Mediainfo or AviSynth WriteFile give the track IDs?

MediaInfo is able to do that, yes...Yamb uses this.

Should this have already been installed with yamb installer?

it's because I forgot some libs in the installer...should be fixed in the next installer that I plan to release soon.

So for the moment, you can specify directly the mkvtoolnix folder via the settings.

Hi Kurt,

Agreed... MP4box muxes play in QuickTime player.

However, QuickTime Pro is unable to detect the "Video Track" data correctly. And as a result, I'm unable to change the files "transformation" settings and re-mux them to the .MOV container: -

Presently I have to perform several de-muxing and re-muxing steps with YAMB and MP4muxer before QuickTime Player Pro is 100% happy. All of which takes longer to do than generating the encode :devil:

using this command line :
MP4Box -brand mp42:1 -add input.h264#1:delay=1:fps=23.976:lang=en -new output.m4v

the required field is #1:delay=1. fps=xx is required too if not equals to 25.000. The rest is optional...

Or an alternative command which works fine too:
MP4Box -delay 1=1 -fps=23.976 -add input.h264 output.mp4
In this pattern, the required field is delay 1=1.

and I get this:

BTW: :thanks: for your contribution in all this MP4 stuff, I've just recently started to experiment with x264/AAC after so many years spent on xvid/MP3 and though MKV is "the container of these days" I still prefer some industry based format, besides I think it has even less overhead compared to MKV.:p

Tools used:
Yamb version 2.1.0.0 beta 1
MP4Box-0.4.6-dev_20090619.zip

I click the "Creation button". I add three files: video.mp4 (H.264 video only), czech.mp4 (AAC audio only), english.mp4 (AAC audio only).
Now I click "Properties" and sequentially click ">>" to go through all three tracks. When on the last (3rd) track and click once again an error message pops up:
http://ukazto.com/img_small/4327222~yamb_bug.jpg (http://ukazto.com/?img=4327222~yamb_bug.jpg)

And what is the meaning of Chapters Metadata entry which is being automatically created in the list when audio file is added? I know it is unchecked by default but still...what's the purpose of it? :confused:

For some reason I'm unable to obtain access to the "command line" preview... When I click on the "Preview" button, nothing happens: -

Nevermind, I've downloaded it from videohelp.com meanwhile...
Don't trust this site...
Why ?

OK, here comes my first bug report (sure it will be easy one to fix ;))

Tools used:
Yamb version 2.1.0.0 beta 1
MP4Box-0.4.6-dev_20090619.zip

I click the "Creation button". I add three files: video.mp4 (H.264 video only), czech.mp4 (AAC audio only), english.mp4 (AAC audio only).
Now I click "Properties" and sequentially click ">>" to go through all three tracks. When on the last (3rd) track and click once again an error message pops up:
http://ukazto.com/img_small/4327222~yamb_bug.jpg (http://ukazto.com/?img=4327222~yamb_bug.jpg)
I got a similar error when muxing a H264 stream and an AC3 stream:

It happens to me at the very end of the process. Although the MP4 file is built and is playing fine in many different players I've tried.

retry with the last build from here (http://kurtnoise.free.fr/Yamb/).

And what is the meaning of Chapters Metadata entry which is being automatically created in the list when audio file is added? I know it is unchecked by default but still...what's the purpose of it? :confused:
The Nero AAC Encoder adds automatically an entry in the mp4 atoms corresponding to the chapters infos...

Bummer...

For some reason I'm unable to obtain access to the "command line" preview... When I click on the "Preview" button, nothing happens: -

Retry with the last build from here (http://kurtnoise.free.fr/Yamb/). Note that I added an option in Properties to enable "QT compatibility w/ multiple B-VOPs".

Why ?
1/ I cannot control what it is uploaded.
2/ It breaks some licenses.
3/ I don't like it.

Well, the last build fixed all the issues I had, thanks. If only I could find fully-aware MP4 player (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=147963) now?

Kurtnoise, I do not know whether you contribute also to MP4Box development but I found another tiny bug (https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=2810877&group_id=84101&atid=571738) which should be easy to fix I suppose.

doesn't look like a bug to me...

doesn't look like a bug to me...
:confused: In all the other tools I know (xvid, x264, lame) the bitrate specified as kbps means 1000 bps, not 1024 bps. Therefore I consider it a bug...

depends on the semantic used I'd say (kilobytes vs kilobits)...:)

anyway, here is a build (http://www.mediafire.com/file/xggwnmeu45m/MP4Box-0.4.6-dev_20090623.zip) for your needs.

It's not semantic, it's INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kilobit) we're talking about.
BTW confusing (kilo)bytes vs (kilo)bits is not a thing I'd expect from someone with your programming knowledge! :eek:
Anyway, thanks for the build.

i'm not confusing...it's just that GPAC code uses this semantic sometimes (ex: when you specify splitting, etc...)
