1. It seems so.
2. I have a Q9550, I don't know about other CPU's.
3. It's uploading.

OK guys...lesson learned. Save yourselves a couple of days of messing around and just follow the dang guide. Don't try to get creative or take shortcuts to get to 23.976 fps like I did. The switches in x264 or in the .avs scripts will only bring heartache in this particular instance.
I followed the guide exactly and got exactly what crl2007 said I would get. The right eye was nearly 2 seconds shorter for 2:41:31 length film.
Thanks for your patience crl2007.

This is the 50 mbps 3840x1920 video (http://www.sendspace.com/file/uhfxuc).
1. Thanks for the awesome 50mbps video, crl2007. My Q8400 can only crawl at 50fps with 95% CPU usage.
2. What 's the i-class/AMD equivalent of the Q9550?
3. I'm using FFVideoSource but ends up with 21.4 Mbps High@L5.1 profile. How do I obtain 50.2 Mbps High@L4.1 profile? Does the 4.1 profile give better quality?
4. By the way, the Q8400 plays this video at 60fps. Does this mean the High@L5.1 profile is less demanding of the CPU?
5. What should be the script used for 1920x2160 vertical stacking? Would this produce less re-encoding artifacts?
Many thanks.

1. You're welcome.
2. I don't know.
3. It's not the profile. The x264 settings matter.
4. You have half the bandwidth. Once again, there isn't the level.
5. The script is the same, just that you use StackVertical (). And the re-encoding artifacts depend on how well you set your x264 for that particular source.

Many thanks for the reply, crl2007.
3. This is what I did, as suggested by sneaker_ger:
x264 --frame-packing 3 -o 700.mkv 3d700.avs
No idea what this means. What's the setting you used? And where could I learn more about it?
4. I suppose you mean the mbps, because the fps is the same at 60p.
5. Once again, any recommendation would be greatly appreciated.
Sorry of being so dense, and thanks for your patience.

Yeah, I edited the post when I saw that I wrote fps instead of bandwidth.
5. Try and use MeGUI, because it is clear that you don't handle commandlines. I can't write commandlines for every source on the internet.

I will test them, but I'm afraid that they will be played at 1920x1080, since I don't have a monitor or TV with that resolution.
First Test - 3840 x 1920 @60p
Video
ID : 1
Format : AVC
Format/Info : Advanced Video Codec
Format profile : High@L4.1
Format settings, CABAC : Yes
Format settings, ReFrames : 4 frames
Codec ID : V_MPEG4/ISO/AVC
Duration : 14s 14ms
Bit rate : 50.2 Mbps
Width : 3 840 pixels
Height : 1 088 pixels
Display aspect ratio : 3.529
Frame rate : 59.940 fps
Color space : YUV
Chroma subsampling : 4:2:0
Bit depth : 8 bits
Scan type : Progressive
DXVA did not handle the file. CUDA couldn't also, because I also tested with CoreAVC 2.0. Software decoders like ffdshow and CoreAVC without CUDA can handle the file very well. But for this you need quite a powerful processor.
Greetings crl2007. Sorry to trouble you again.
Did a quick test on 1920x2160/60p top/bottom vertical stacking with the following:
1. Arcsoft: struggled in DXVA but did not crash
2. Cyberlink: only played in software mode.
Could you test it with your VP4 card? Perhaps it will handle top/bottom vertical stacking fine in DXVA.
Many thanks.

The missing frames should be the same for the entire right eye stream.
Confirmed.
For entire movie, 60 frames are missing too.
Do you advise me any avisynth script for filling those missing frames? (just as empty frames i mean)
crl2007

mariner I will test it.
rica I already explained that this is normal behaviour for the mvc decoder. It has absolutely 0 impact on the video, because those 60 frames ( aprox. 2 seconds ) are black screen.
LE: I tested that sample and it's the same situation as for 3840x1080. Arcsoft plays it, but it does not use DXVA, it uses cpu. I haven't made it m2ts, but I think the result will be the same.

Some movie 2 seconds at the end is not black screen. Can you find a newer patch of h264stereo?

I know but i need that script (added 60 blank frames) for using re-encoded video in further processing. (in MainConcept MVC encoder.)
It needs to see exactly the same frame numbers on both videos.

This is interesting. What about other decoders, eg MS, MPC?
Thanks for testing.

Thanks to crl2007 and rica for testing and confirming PV4 cannot handle 3840x1080 and 1920x2160 in DXVA.
Will check if UVD3 can handle this.
Best regards.
crl2007
24th December 2010, 09:04
I don't think that the PV4 or UVD3 can handle this. Maybe with an update in the drivers should do the trick. For BD3D it works, but for mkv it does not.

Known weakness of UVD3 architecture?
crl2007
24th December 2010, 14:10
No, but they are based on the same principle. They are meant for bd3d, just that AMD has a rather poor support.
mariner

Use a image hosting site such as imageshack or tinypic. It takes ages for an attachment to be approved.
What TMT did you use ? I tested on TMT 5. I will test again on 3.
LE: The same with 3.

TMT5.
Black screen with MS and MPC.

You are completely sure that tmt 5 used dxva and not software decoders ? Load the movie and then press settings and information. You will see there if it says Hardware Acceleration: False or 2.0. If it is 2.0 then it works.

Why can you make crop?so this encode has to bad crop?
crl2007

You can crop, of course. But you have there Avatar, a movie that is 16:9. You have nothing to crop.

You should have said that with the arcsoft decoder only, not with TotalMedia Theatre. I will try with this too and report back.

Apologies. The word decoder was somehow left out.
BTW, TMT3 did not crash in DXVA, but struggled as expected.

Hello,
can someone help me to build "1" mkv with a 3d sbs video?
With the tutorial at the first page, it creates 2 mkvs, so for that, I need a special player.
I need a guide to make one MKV, like dvdfab does.
Please help.

Hi,
Thanks for this excellent guide.
I have 3D Left and Right files (two separate files), now I want to convert to 3D Anaglyph (single file) of either Red/Cyan or Green/Magenta.
Is this possible and how?
Thanks in advance!

So did I at first. If you look at the release notes https://ipbt.hhi.fraunhofer.de/mantis/main_page.php you will see "The most notable change is probably support for MVC stereo high profile."

Not yet. I don't really know how.
Right now, I am pursuing Frame Sequential 3D encoding with x264. If that doesn't prove workable, I will probably look into this MVC encoder.

Which Srt files do accept 3DSubtitler?
I done one with Suprip and also one with Supread for testing.
But 3DSubtitler always says: Invaild SRT File.

ANSI. The ones resulted with those 2 programs are Unicode.

Is there any way to go from a 3DBD to field sequential (interlaced) 3D?
I want to make an AVCHD disc that I could put in a bluray player and use my old-school 3D glasses and controllers.
They require a field sequential video stream, e.g. 1920x1080
with the left eye view on odd fields and the right eye view on even fields.

X264 help says:
- 2: row alternation - L and R are interlaced by row
So the code will be:
x264 --blabla --frame-packing 2
But not sure what exactly avisynth script needs:
iinterleave(lv,rv) or
interlace(lv,rv)
