Your ears may not be able to tell the difference but the company is specifically saying that it isn't 5.1. As I stated earlier, just be aware that you are not getting the direct AC3 5.1 that you are expecting. The purpose for this information is to raise a concern which I suspect is important - especially when spending 20+ hours encoding the video. You may want to go the mono channel then Stream Edit approach.
From TMPGEnc directly:
"Hi,
Thank you for the screen shots, however, as I have stated before our software does not have the license to create 5.1 ch audio. For WMV 6 ch even though it shows 6 channel, it is not true surround 5.1 ch. Our software does not have the included tools to specify which audio track goes with what channel so it only outputs to stereo/simulated surround. If you would like to have 5.1 for AVI then I recommend doing a separate AC3 encode with another software that allows you to set specifically 5.1 ch then multiplex this file to your AVI file. You may see the list show AC3 with 5.1 ch option but this will not encode to 5.1. Our software simply received this list from Dolby digital but we do not have the license to create the 5.1 ch.

ive tested this and made 1 using TMPEG and the other with windows media encoder. The Tmpeg one is larger but sounds exactly the same. i dissconnected my front and center speakers leaving only the rear surrounds on and i cant tell the difference. pretty good for simulated 5.1

your dump.ax is not registered
http://forum.doom9.org/showpost.php?p=996484&postcount=93
MLP is TRUE HD
yea, you were right. i had done it but i did it wrong. for x64 you must do "C:\Windows\SysWOW64\regsvr32.exe C:\Windows\SysWOW64\dump.ax" for 32bit.
now i'm having problems with tranzcode
C:\Users\schizosmurf>C:\Windows\SysWOW64\tranzcode.exe "G:\MATRIX_RELOADED_HDDVD
\HVDVD_TS\output.wav"
Input filename: [output.wav] (Multichannel Wave)
Input attribs: [Ext wav fmt, 6 ch, 24 bit, 48.0 kHz]
Output attribs: [PCM wav fmt, (6) x 1 ch, 24 bit, 48.0 kHz]
Output file(s): output-FL.wav
output-FR.wav
output-C.wav
output-LFE.wav
output-SL.wav
output-SR.wav
Processing: Completed. [in 1 sec]
It's saving the output files in a completely diff location than everything else (C:\Users\schizosmurf), not that big a deal i could handle that. But the files are useless, all 6 .wav files are 44 bytes, and the audio.avi is 0 bytes.
any ideas?

put all the files into the same directory (i.e. folder with transcode in it) so you should only have to use
tranzcode.exe output.wav
when i specified too many different folders it didnt work for me either but when i put it all in 1 folder it was fine

Do DShow-based players like Media Player Classic allow you to seek? When you open the .wmv in ASF Viewer 9 (free download from MS), does it show an index object present?

Ok, I had this graph working previously. I'm not sure what is going on now, but I can't connect the Sonic HD Demuxer video output to the Sonic Cinemaster VideoDecoder 4.2 video input.
I get the following error message:
These filters cannot agree on a connection. Verify type and compatiblity of input pin and output pin. No combination of intermediate filters could be found to make the connection.
FEATURE_1_MERGED.VC-1.stream.0.mpv -> Sonic HD Demuxer -> Sonic Cinemaster VideoDecoder 4.2
Any ideas of what could have changed?

OK first off I would like to thank all the people in this thread that are figuring out how to convert .EVO files to HD .WMV files. :thanks:You're all doing a great job. I've read through all of this thread and I think I have an idea of how it works. But when I tried it the first time I stopped it after 36 hours of encoding and had an incomplete .wmv that was 25 gigs that came from a 14 gig .EVO (the reason I stopped it was because I realized that I didn't have any audio settings in my .bat file) But when I started it back up I got some weird input error.
What I'm asking for is a COMPLETE step by step guide. I mean a really thorough guide, like something you'd see in a book ".EVOs to .WMVs for Dummies" I'm totally new to graphedit, and avisynth, and encoding in general. Any help or links to guides would be greatly appreciated. I know there are two step by step guides in this forum but I need something in laymans terms that's more specific and has tons of screenshots so that I know I'm doing the same thing that other people are doing that have it working.
ps- sorry for being such a newbie

I agree totally. However i've been at this now for 3 weeks...
I've learnt heaps, and have found some awesome programs..
BUT........
Audio is a big issue?
This is my procedure................................
1. Evodemux to rebuild the video
2. Evodemux to demux the audio
3. Rename the audio from .mpa to .ddp
4. Use megui to encode evo to mkv (i dont put any audio in this program, otherwise i get errors)
5. Play mkv/avi (whatever output i used) on wmp or vlc player (works fantastically)
6. Mkvmerge mkv and ddp ???????? errors!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is what i believe that works but cannot get it working..
eac3to.exe ???.ddp ????.ac3
but i get errors, (i need hd-dvd/bluray nero plugin)
i use graphedit for video and audio
they both work, (this is the only time i actually get audio working)
but i am confused how to convert this audio graphedit to an actual ac3/mp3 or whatever...
I have a grf audio file, works great how do i convert this to a mp3 or ac3????????

I developed this tutorial for those in this thread asking for one. I put it here in this thread because I was not sure where else to place it. Instead of creating multiple posts and linking many pics I created a Word document that you may download from here:
HD-DVD to WMV Tutorial Download (http://www.tribalrites.com/HDtut/Tutorial%20for%20HD-DVD%20to%20WMV1.doc)
It is self explanatory. Let me know what you think.

A note on the Performance Slider: I have a problem with this slider. No one seems to know exactly what it does. We know that when we set it for better performance that we get faster encodings and that when we set it for better quality we can get encoding times that are out of this world (like 48 hours or more). The problem is that I cannot find out what the actual implementation of this slider is. The question is, what quality are we sacrificing for performance? Nobody seems to know what this ratio is or how it operates. After doing hours of research, I seriously thought about spending a few hundred dollars to talk to a Microsoft developer to get this answer.
Why spend a few hundred dollars if you could just ask me instead? :)
So one major question for you: why are you re-encoding VC-1 video to VC-1 video at equivalent or greater bitrates? What does that accomplish?

Helllo everyone and great job on this might I add. I have tried following the EVO to WMV with 5.1 guide and cannot get the Graphedit working properly as when I try to connect the boxes they cannot agree on a connection. Im not 100% sure I have installed everything properly and registered everything properly either so I am in need of some serious assistance if you please. Is there any chance a more thorough guide can be written. I am not used to command prompts and registering this and that but this is something I really want to do.
And for those who are successful enough to get the WMV HD and not already aware of how to get it on the X-Box 360 other then streaming it then might I suggest MacDrive7 which can format your external harddrive into the HFS+ format which is completely accepted by the 360 and has no limitation on file size (Goodbye 4GB file limit) ... and once again Great Job everyone :P

Also, I thought that I was encoding smaller bitrates than the original just by choosing VBRs of less than 100%. How do you re-encode VC-1 to VC-1 at higher bitrates? Are you referring to the aforementioned performance slider? Does that have something to do with the the bitrate ratio from original to encode? Did I even understand the question? Maybe you are wondering why I would want close to original bitrates. My assumption is that compression equals some loss in quality so the closer you are to the original bitrates the closer you are to the quality of the original video. Be kind, I said I was a layman. I am still learning.

Sorry, I did not go into detail on how to install and register your filters properly(time constraints). You need to find the corresponding .ax files for each of the filters I have listed and make sure they are properly registered. There are a few filters that come with Graph edit with which I had a specific problem. The .bat file that registers the filters use the /s switch after Regsvr32, which means "run silently do not display window messages". The install runs quicker that way, but if you get an error you would not know. So I edited the .bat and took off the /s switch and found out they were not registering properly because of Vista's UAC (User Account Control). Here is a way you can re-register all of your filters and check to see if they are registering properly or you can just pick those filters you need. Do a search on your computer for all .ax files. Copy these files to a single directory. Open Note Pad. For each .ax file write a line that looks like this: (I used the dump filter as an example)
regsvr32 dump.ax
You will end up with a long list of filters. Save the Note Pad file as "Filters.bat" in the same directory as your filters. Run your .bat file by double clicking on it. A window will pop up for each filter to tell you that it succeeded in registering or you will get an error message. If you get an error message you must turn off Vista's UAC and then start over. UAC control can be found in:
Control Panel--> User Accounts and Family Safety --> User Accounts --> Turn User Accounts Control On or Off
I believe it is a good idea to turn this back on after you are done installing the filters.
Disclaimer: Doing these sorts of operations to your computer may cause issues. Do them at your own risk.

Well I uninstalled and unregsistered everything last night and started from scratch and reregistered everything and then put Sox and Eac3to with the file I want to transcode, demuxed and then when I try to take the file to Graphedit it does not agree on a connection when I attempt to connect them. Are you saying that UAC could be causing this? I will try what you say when I get back but I did do the command lines as System Administrator....
Thankyou for the wisdom :) Do not mean to be a pain but can you just reconfirm the filters I am supposed to have installed and where to please...

Wouldn't running the bat file as administrator be easier than disabling uac? Running as administrator only requires right clicking and using the context menu while disabling uac involves invoking msconfig, tools tab, launch disable uac, and then a restart.
You could always set cmd.exe to run as administrator in its properties > compatibility tab as well. Either way is less of a risk then disabling uac altoghether.

So I'm asking? Please, what does the goofy slider do? TIA. Sorry, I am relatively new to this forum and did not catch that your are a Windows Media expert. :)
The performance slider controls the encoder complexity. The encoder complexity regulates the accuracy of the motion estimation algorithms. Lower complexity modes are faster because they make less accurate motion predictions and therefore result in bigger compressed frames. It's a tradeoff between encoding time and quality. The complexity range for WMV9 codec is 0-5.
Quality VBR mode encodes at a fixed quantizer level. It compresses every frame using the same level of compression regardless of its complexity, so you have no control over the final file size.
The reason I asked why you were re-encoding VC-1 to VC-1 using the same bitrate is: if that's acceptable, why not just use the original VC-1 bitstream? Why not just mux the original VC-1 video into a new container without any recompression?

Fishrider thankyou for the input and I have done as you suggested and you are correct with them filters not registering or working. So I created my own bat. extension for the filters and got them installed and registered so thankyou for that :) . But with Graphedit I load my demuxed EVO file and connect it to Sonic HD Demuxer but when I try to go from that to the Sonic Cinemaster Video Decoder 4.2 it cannot agree on a connection. Can anyone help!? I installed the DTSAC3source thing, dump.ax and all the filters from Graphedit and oblivously I have Sonic Cinemaster 4.2 installed aswell. Where am I going wrong?

You do not need the Sonic video decoder or demuxer for the video. You need the VC-1 decoder. The filter is WMVideo Decoder DMO. You only use the Sonic HD Demuxer and the Sonic Audio Decoder for Audio only. Read through my tutorial. It gives step by step instructions on how to set up your graphs. If you didn't already download the tutorial it is post #212 in this thread.

Lower complexity modes are faster because they make less accurate motion predictions and therefore result in bigger compressed frames. It's a tradeoff between encoding time and quality. The complexity range for WMV9 codec is 0-5.
So I was correct in my guess that the slider does affect file size. Does this mean the encode(from a digital standpoint) has no resemblance to the original video. I mean, where is the point on the slider that gives you the same or close to accurate information so that you do not have any more or any less info then what you started with. Or am I comparing apples and oranges in so far as the data is totally different (as I stated above) once the encode is completed?
Does This also mean that this slider than affects bitrates in the final encode? And does this algorithm really have a noticeable affect on complex motion one way or the other? Especially, when you are encoding high bitrates.
Quality VBR mode encodes at a fixed quantizer level. It compresses every frame using the same level of compression regardless of its complexity, so you have no control over the final file size.
I understand this part of your statement. In my tutorial I talk about the need for compression because it is important that we get peak and average bitrates lower than the original movie for streaming constraints. I encode at 93% VBR(usually) because I found any higher than that I have problems streaming during complex video. I can get a feel for file sizes based on observed bitrates during encoding, but file size is not as important. I suppose I could have movies that are the same size as the original it just ups the cost of storing it since you are using more gigs.
Also, don't I want even compression over all frames? Does that not stay more true to the original video? Are you suggesting that CBR might be more useful in some way?
The reason I asked why you were re-encoding VC-1 to VC-1 using the same bitrate is: if that's acceptable, why not just use the original VC-1 bitstream? Why not just mux the original VC-1 video into a new container without any recompression?
Again, the same bitrates in the original VC-1 always seemed problematic for streaming as they would get too high in some instances(55k+). However, I am now unsure if the encode is affecting bitrate output. I assumed that at 100% VBR that you are encoding the original video bit for bit. But now, I am not sure how the Performance slider affects the new bitstream output. How do you know what the peak bit rates are in the original VC-1 bitstream? If you could stream the original VC-1 video with no problems, can I mux the .wav file and the original VC-1 into a WMV without using the encoder? If so, how do I do this? Can I mux the orignal DD+ and the VC-1 into a WMV (assuming I have a receiver that can decode the audio)?
EDIT: So, I did a little more researching in the forums and successfully demuxed the VC-1 stream and then remuxed it with a 5.1 wma using Windows Media Stream editor. I did this just to see what would happen in a streaming environment. I used the method that Acrowley posted here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1046542&highlight=mux+wmv#post1046542). It plays great on my computer, but when I attempt to stream it to my Xbox the Xbox crashes. So unless I am doing something else wrong (probable) than I am back to my first assertion that compressing the video a bit for streaming is correct. Can you please still answer the rest of the above q's.
PS: Thank you for your time and input. The education I was lacking when building this tutorial was the theory and implementation of using Windows Media Video. In other words I understand how to get from step 1 to step 2 just not why I was able to get there, and what the other options might be and how those options affect my outcome based on my goals for this project.

Technically, it is no longer Dolby Digital, but what you get is a reproduction of the original 6 channel audio. It is 5.1 digital surround. I think you would be hard pressed to notice any difference between the original track and the 5.1 you get from this process. On my system it sounds great.

This is so painful. However im 1 step away from putting 5.1ch into a final wmv-hd file.
I've got a mkv file (1080P Movie)
I've got an Ac3 file (5.1 Audio)
When i put these together in WME, everything goes fine until i hit apply, i use the windows media audio 10 pro, and eg: 440kbs 5.1ch 48Hz
It always comes up with this error
"The input media format is invalid.(0xC00D0BB8)"
Everytime i use 5.1ch or more is comes up with this error
Everytime i use 2 ch is works fine.. What the hell is going on????
My comp is set to 5.1ch too....?????????????

As far as I know you need 4.3. You can download the Sonic player decoder pack for about $15, if I remember correctly. There are ways to get the decoders otherwise, but I am loathe to say how since this is a commercial product. A little searching and ingenuity and you can find the work around if you so desire. Trust me, I am not one to make judgment calls on this sort of stuff. I live in THE glass house, but I choose not to disseminate the information on these work arounds. Not to say that I haven't paid for this particular product, just that I have read how to get it otherwise.

Make sure you followed all of the instructions about AC3 filter. You need to have SPDIF checked. Also, graphedit can be a little touchy. I once got an error message while dumping to a WAV file, but it works 99% of the time for me.

Unplayable content: Can't play this because the content may not be supported.
Status Code: 69-02-8007045D
Sephiroth0000,
Have you actually played WMV files using this method.
I put a support ticket in via e-mail with XBOX. Does anyone here know what this means?

I had an extra RAID enclosure laying about. I put an old hard drive in it and downloaded the trial version of Macdrive 7. I formatted the hard drive ti HFS+ and then copied versions of encodes including my remuxed stuff to the drive. The XBOX sees the hard drive fine, but when I play the files they play for about 5-10 seconds and then give me an error message saying:

I have played WMV via this method and it should not be any problem. Make sure that the X-Box 360 is on live as you should be asked to actually install an update before being able to play any file. Im sure it is called the AAC file update but I assure you providing it is WMV files you are loading up they should play no problem.
REMEMBER THOUGH it only plays WMV not demuxed files or any sort. The end file result you get from following your guide is the file it will play with no problem.

Guide to convert HD-DVDs to WMV HD with 5.1 audio channels
Please note that this solution is by no means the only solution possible nor is it necessarily the best! It just happened to work for me!
Required software :
1) AnyDVD HD [Commercial] or BackupHDDVD [Free] or DVDFab HD Decrypter (http://www.dvdfab.com/free.htm) [Free]
2) EVO Demux [Free]
3) DTS/AC3/DD+ source filter [Free]
4) Sonic Cineplayer Decoder Pack 4.2 [Commercial]
5) AviSynth 2.5.7 [Free]
6) graphedit (which is part of the Windows SDK and should include the dump.ax filter) [Free]
6) WM Encoder 9 Series [Free]
7) Alex Zambelli’s Windows Media Encoder Command Line Script Utility (WMCmd.vbs ) [Free]
8) madshi's eac3to (http://madshi.net/eac3to.zip) [Free]
9) SoX 13.0 (http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=10706&package_id=10619&release_id=485785) [Free]
10) Tranzcode 0.40beta (http://tranzcode.byethost22.com/) [Free]
11) Windows Media Mono to Multichannel Wave Combiner 9 Series (WavAviMux (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/forpros/encoder/utilities.aspx)) [Free]
Install guide
Installations are quite straight forward with a few exceptions:
1) To install DTS/AC3/DD+ source filter, extract “dtsac3source-full.ax” to C:\Windows\System32 then register the filter using Start>Run and entering “regsvr32 C:\Windows\System32\dtsac3source-full.ax” (without the quotes!)
2) WM Encoder 9 Series should install in C:\Program Files\Windows Media Components\Encoder. Rename the original WMCmd.vbs located there in and extract Zambelli’s WMCmd.vbs to this location.
3) Place Tranzcode in your C:\Windows\System32 folder and place eac3to and sox in the same folder as the audio and video source files you wish to transcode.
Conversion Guide
STEP 1: Rip HD-DVD
Use AnyDVD HD or BackupHDDVD or DVDFab HD Decrypter to rip the contents of your HD-DVD to your Hard Disk.
STEP 2: Demux main EVO files
In this step, you will demux the EVO files previously ripped into namely DD+ audio and VC-1 video.
Open EVO Demux and select the “Options” tab. Specify the following extensions respectively for video, audio and subtitles: vc1, ddp and sup. Then make sure “Count Frames” and “Continue with second EVO” are checked. Next, chose the “Status” tab, browse to and select your first main EVO file. Your file will first be analyzed and the total number of “calculated frames” will appear at the bottom. Write this number down.
STEP 3: Create GRF file for the VC-1 video file using the following sequence of filters in graphedit:
File Async(Video_Source.vc1) > Sonic HD Demuxer > Sonic Cinemaster VideoDecoder 4.2
(Save the file as Video_Only.grf for example.)
STEP 4: Create the corresponding Avisynth script file:
Directshowsource("C:\Path to\Video_Only.grf", fps=23.976, audio=false, seekzero=false, seek=true, framecount=xxxx)
where you should replace "xxxx" with the total amount of calculated frames obtained from EVO Demux. (Save the file as Video_Only.avs for example.)
STEP 5: Create the batch file containing the complete transcoding process detailed below
eac3to.exe "C:\Path to\Audio_Source.ddp" "C:\Path to\output.wav"
tranzcode.exe "C:\Path to\output.wav"
wavavimux -o audio.avi -iwav 6 output-FL.wav output-FR.wav output-C.wav output-LFE.wav output-SL.wav output-SR.wav -mask 63
cscript.exe "C:\Program Files\Windows Media Components\Encoder\wmcmd.vbs" -input "C:\Path to\Video_Only.avs" -a_input "C:\Path to\audio.avi" -output "C:\Path to\output.wmv" -v_bframedist 1 -v_bdeltaqp 1 -v_mslevel 1 -v_codec wvc1 -v_keydist 3 -v_mode 2 -v_quality 96 -v_mmatch 0 -v_msrange 0 -v_performance 20 -v_loopfilter 1 -a_codec wmapro -a_setting 384_48_6_16
Save the file with the extension ".bat". Be sure to have "Path to" pointing to the same folder in which eac3to and sox are located along with all your audio and video source files.
Doubleclick on the .bat file and... be patient! :(
(I have an Intel Core 2 Duo @2.4GHz and it takes approx. 10 mins to encode 1 min of movie, i.e. a 1 hour movie will take about 10 hours to encode! But I'm not sure if the process is linear so I guess it may take more or less time!)
Finally, just a word of thanks to Zambelli and all others who have made this small guide possible!
For those of you still encountering problems, I would also recommend keeping an eye on this thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=991220#post991220).
Oliver I am attempting to follow your guide but when I get to the final command line it comes up with a Nero Audio Decoder innstance failed error. I was told I needed the HD BLU-Ray Plugin which I now have and still the same error....any idea's?

I have a BIG problem I cant seem to solve!!
I am using Fishriders guide
Using graphedit and AC3Filter, when it saves the wav, it is playing SUPERFAST and only saving 36 minutes of the movie..when the movie is around 90 minutes. It is constantly doing that and I have no idea why. Any ideas??

So I was correct in my guess that the slider does affect file size.
In 1-pass VBR mode, yes. In every other mode - no - it would only affect quality because the filesize would be determined by the target bitrate.
It's apples and oranges. :) VC-1 is a lossy codec, just like MPEG-2, MPEG-4, H.264, etc. It doesn't matter that you're going from VC-1 to VC-1 because the encoder doesn't know that - it only knows it's encoding video.
Does This also mean that this slider than affects bitrates in the final encode? And does this algorithm really have a noticeable affect on complex motion one way or the other? Especially, when you are encoding high bitrates.
If you're using a bitrate-based encoding mode, then the slider will affect quality because the encoder will strive to meet the bitrate requirements. "Sloppier" motion estimation will result in complex frames taking up more space, thus depriving other frames of bits from the "bit bucket".
I understand this part of your statement. In my tutorial I talk about the need for compression because it is important that we get peak and average bitrates lower than the original movie for streaming constraints.
For network streaming you'd need to use CBR encoding.
Quality VBR doesn't provide a consistent bitflow because it is not bitrate-based. It can create very extreme peaks and valleys in the bit allocation. It is the least appropriate method for streaming.
Again, the same bitrates in the original VC-1 always seemed problematic for streaming as they would get too high in some instances(55k+).
55 thousand what? 55 megabits per second? That's not possible because HD-DVD bitrates can't go above 30 Mbps. In reality they rarely exceed 20-25 Mbps.
However, I am now unsure if the encode is affecting bitrate output. I assumed that at 100% VBR that you are encoding the original video bit for bit.
No! Lossy compression is lossy compression. Q100 uses a quantizer (QP) 1.0 - which is still lossy.
The education I was lacking when building this tutorial was the theory and implementation of using Windows Media Video. In other words I understand how to get from step 1 to step 2 just not why I was able to get there, and what the other options might be and how those options affect my outcome based on my goals for this project.
I would recommend you read up on video compression. Most lossy modern video codecs are based on DCT and quantization. Reading up on MPEG-1, MPEG-2 or MPEG-4 will help you understand VC-1 too. Wikipedia would be a good starting point.

I tried Oliver's method...12 monkeys was totally out of sync! Any ideas on how to fix this? Is there a way to check to make sure it is in sync first before encoding it and is there a way to change the audio delay somewhere?

Ahh, I think I figured out why. I did the wrong framecount :-\ That would be the reason huh? I did it for the counted, not calculated.
Edit: It is still REALLY out of sync!!! AHhhhhhhhhhh

I'm having the exact same problem, always 0xC00D0BB8 error when trying to encode 5.1 to WMA.
I'm using WMNicEnc and the CCCP codec pack.
Has anyone found a solution for this?

Decoding to 6 mono WAV files and then to WMA Pro ought to always work. Also, WMCmd.vbs has more advanced encoding options than WMNicEnc at this point (thought I'd be happy to help Nic update his tool if he's got time).

I have succesfully encoded evo to wmvhd a couple of times using the process described in this forum/thread.
Now im trying to convert the departed HdDVD and Im running into problems.
If I graphedit video = vc1-intervideodemultiplexer-intervideo decoder- When the bat file runs it tells me its failed to retrieve duration attribute from source plugin trying alertnate method.... this way will encode the movie as for as 161,160 kbs then it ends. I have the correct frame count set but it always stops right at this point.
If i graphedit the video VC1 file or the rebuilt evo file with sonic demux-sonic videodecoder 4.3- the bat. tells me I dont have the correct RGB out pin?
I can watch all three versions thru graph edit just fine with a render filter at the end.
Im using Xp/Dual Processor with 3 gb of ram
demux-avs-grf with a bat file
the settings in the bat file are
-v_bframedist 1 -v_bdeltaqp 1 -v_mslevel 1 -v_codec wvc1 -v_keydist 3 -v_mode 2 -v_quality 96 -v_mmatch 0 -v_msrange 0 -v_performance 20 -v_loopfilter 1 -a_codec wmapro -a_setting 192_44_2_24
the settings in the video avs file are
fps=23.976, audio=false, seekzero=false, seek=true).trim(0,227679) Ive also used framecount=xxxxxx
my audio is standard and not a concern, I dont need 5.1 audio and that side of things appears to be fine.

Hello everyone and anyone. This link will download EVO to WMV HD with 5.1 support guide. I do not pretend to be a mastermind with computers and can say I started originally with OliverDB's guide. All this guide is a more thorough guide going from start to finish so anyone even with basic computer knowledge can understand it. (something I could not understand with OliverDB as I think his guide is for people who know what they are doing) where is I at first did not.

Sephiroth0000 - I'm soooo happy to find your guide! i'm really new and i'm trying it now!
thanks i've already learned a lot from it
just a few things questions i have already:
1. when i downloaded GraphEdit you linked me to an old version. I already downloaded a new version i think and i don't have the files you talk about moving into the system folder. should i just download the old version or new?
2. i can't find a version of Sonic CinePlayer 4.3 I found 4.2 is that going to be a problem?
thanks again!

I would suggest going with the older version of GraphEdit as it is more likely to be successful. However with the old GraphEdit please do not run the register file it gives you and instead regsvr32 the files as stated in the guide. 4.2 should not be a problem but make sure to change the AllowAllRenders from 0 to 1 or they may not connect in GraphEdit. Any queries result to the guide or ask me and I will help all I can. It drove me mad for ages at first but once you have done it the first time its childs play. I am now actually working on decreasing the convert time and believe I can fufill this with using MS DOS with NTFS read and write support. But my work is only theory at the moment and I will update on here the more I find out.

Sepiroth first and foremost thank you for your guide it has been very helpful.
Do you think you can explain why a windows media encode would crash at the same place in the movie everytime?
Ive tried everything. Ive changed VBR modes Ive adjusted audio levels, conversion size, what am I missing?...I just cant figure this one out .

Thanks for the guide Sephiroth0000! :thanks:
I have one question. How do you handle audio sync problems? Some HDDVD's I own covert just fine but others like a certain Giant Robot movie are giving me fits.
Any help/hints/voodoo would be welcome.
Thanks
