Sharktooth,
Did you see my post above about the error generated when trying to mux ac3 only with autoencode since updating MEGUI?
http://forum.doom9.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=6336&d=1162135662
Same error people were getting back in January but it just seemed to "go away"...

Probably a problem with your installed decoders.
Check if the AVS file plays correctly in MPC...
tnx...
no don't think it s a decoder problem
i'll tryed coreavc , ffdshow , cyberlink
do you try to convert the .raw to mp4 with megui ? what i posted :

Try encoding the audio separately with the same encoder but with a different tool (SNG or behappy).
Ensure you have the latest encoder version (neroaac 1.0.0.2) and check if the problem persists. If it does, then it's a nero encoder problem and you should inform nero about that.
Well, it boiled down to QuickTime sucking monkey-balls as a media-player.. The audio-files play just fine in foobar2000, and even though I can't get sound on Ronin (the movie) in QT, I get it when I put the mux'ed movie into foobar2000 too.. Ronin (the movie) is "bugged" in iTunes, but plays fine on my iPod.. Go figure.. So I retracted the report...

possibly the audio is HE-AAC? QT components only support AAC-LC

Uhm.. no... however the link is invalid and the megui version hasnt changed for a while...
So i fail to see how you hadnt problems few weeks ago and now it doesnt work.
Probably it's a bad ac3 stream.

My audio-profile is as follows: (o= not checked, v= checked)
o Force Decoding via DirectShow
Output Channels: Downmix to Stereo
v Increase Volume automatically
v Improve Accuracy using 32-bit & Float computations
o Delay Correction
CBR 128kbit/sec
AAC-profile: AAC-LC
o Create hint track
Like I said, I have problems getting sound on some movies in QT, but they play fine in foobar2000 and on my iPod..
EDIT:
I can see one thing they all have in common..
I have two movies and four OVA episodes (of wich 2 are bugged, see here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=117630)), and they are as follows:
Ronin: 2h1m19s (no sound in QT, plays fine on my iPod)
The Boondock Saints: 1h48m21s (plays fine both in QT and on my iPod)
Samurai X Trust/Betrayal OVA Ep.1: 28m54s (plays fine both in QT and on my iPod)
Samurai X Trust/Betrayal OVA Ep.2: 29m01s + 1h59m19s of white at the end (plays without sound on QT, doesn't play more than 5s at a time on my iPod)
Samurai X Trust/Betrayal OVA Ep.3: 30m42s (plays fine both in QT and on my iPod)
Samurai X Trust/Betrayal OVA Ep.4: 30m49s + 1h59m18s of white at the end (plays without sound on QT, doesn't play more than 5s at a time on my iPod)
As you can see, all the movies that cross the 2h marker don't have sound, the ones below do (and the two bugged Samurai X episodes play just fine with sound and no white at the end in Zoom Player..

i mean a decoder problem with the raw stream...
did you try to play the avs in MPC?
ha ok
you are right
i played the avs , i doesn't play correctly
it use the wrong filters : avi decompressor (yuy2)
video mixing render9 (renderless)
what can i do
i decrease the avi decompressor priority to (do not use) with DSFM directshow filter manager 0.5
and than could'nt play it
than i need to install an other filter?
do you know something what i can use ?
why doesn't it use the same filter's when i play the .raw ?
thanks for helping
it s not a bug with megui than lol :D

Oh, just remembered a bug that has been annoying me a lot..
I'm encoding stuff for my iPod, and I don't care about fitting stuff onto various optical media, so I want to encode my videos with 700kbit/sec datarate.. (700kbit give plenty quality for iPod-viewing and doesn't take much space)
I've set this in the iPod 5.5-profile (I think that's what the text-box to the right of "Bandwidth" is for), but meGUI keeps trying to make 700MB files, so I have to pop by the bitrate calculator before encoding or I end up with movies that use 3500+ kbit/sec..
Any way around this?

You should forward the issue to akupenguin (the main x264 developer a.k.a. pengvado).
However before doing that lets see if it is a real x264 bug coz i had no problems in using multiple threads.
Is your CPU overclocked?
hanti
6th November 2006, 18:51
yes
but at standard freq i have the same prob
and not only me --> http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=117074&highlight=requested+bitrate+is+too+low
btw u have c2d processor ? maybe this works fine with athlonx2 and pentiumD
maybe shared L2 cache in c2d its a problem :P
but if u have c2d i dont know whats is wrong .. then i think is smth wrong with my computer/os itp

Is the encode deterministic? i.e. if you run the 1st pass again, do you get the same stats file?
What if you use "--threads 1 --thread-input"?
What if you compile without threads? (patch)

Heya Folk,
I see it's been brought up before:
http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=849884#post849884
However I'm seeing some massive memory leaks in the Interlace detection thingo when detecting a large interlaced dgindex file, maybe made worse as I had an x264 job running in the Q. Seems to loose chunks of memory regarless, but it lost abour 400MB+ on one particular detection.

I'd like to report a cosmetic bug that has been there since the beginning while using bbLean, a window manager replacing explorer.
All is fine and dandy at first thusly
http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l35/tommykatkins/stuff/megui_1.jpg
But when any file selection dialog opens up, and only then
http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l35/tommykatkins/stuff/megui_2.jpg
megui loses the 'skin' from the window it was opened from. Megui is the second app I've ever encountered that does this. Dunno if it's fixable but thought to let the devs know nevertheless :)

I was wondering if anyone has noticed something along the lines of the stream information.txt no longer working in MeGUI.
It was working up to a point but some time ago on my system it stopped working in the D2V Creator and pops up the error message below. After that you just manually select which track, it is a bug or something wrong with my setup as I deleted the MeGUI folder & downloaded all the files again but it made no difference

Not sure if this has been reported yet and it may be just my computer setup but heres something annoying ive seen. I apologize if this isn't a megui bug.
1- Create a d2v from a vob file using megui.
2- Rename or move or delete the vob file referenced by the d2v
3- Attempt to open the d2v in the avisynth script creator, youll get an error message saying the input files could not be found
4- Try to delete or edit the d2v file. From here on out Windows seems to think the file is in use and there doesnt appear to be any way to edit or delete the file without rebooting windows.

Sorry I do not recall it wasn't something major so I ignored it for the most part but curiosity eventually got the better of me which is why I posted here.
I have the latest version 0.2.3.2192 on both my systems (AMD, nForce 4), strange thing is I decided to borrow a laptop from a mate yesterday (Intel,915) and copied my MeGUI install directly over to his laptop and got the same errors.
After some further experimenting I found a workaround if I delete everything related to the subtitles in the stream information.txt leaving only the audio & video info the file is accepted by the D2V Creator so it looks like problem solved in a way.

@oddball, more info please :) "cryptic error message" is of little use to us as the actual message is to you ;).
@scif: thanks. this was presumeably due to a change in the GUI which wasn't reflected in the contexthelp a while back.
@chip: interesting, you'll have to wait for doom9 to see as he's the only person who has poked that functionality afaik.

I am having a problem with interlace detection in megui 2192. Everytime i try to detect interlacing with the algorithm, I get a error about not having tivtc in my avisynth folder. I most certainly do. I do have a newer version however, 1.000 RC7. Maybe that has something to do with it? I will download the version from the megui server and see if that fixes it.
In the mean time, here is the error:
http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d125/Merlin7777/meguiproblem.jpg
It looks like you guys may be possibly aware of this problem, as the update windows shows the switch from tivtc rc7 to rc 6. Let me test to be sure.
