@DC,
Please comfirm me about :
the latest AutoRV9 is not need to install karl's er4.dll ?
correct ?
Just use the original Producer 9.2 M5 ?
PS.
My 2 latest encoding with your AutoRv9 always hit 702Mb,
over Nero's 80:00 mins limit which is not burnable on
my old CD-RW which not support the overburn yet.
So is that possible to lower it to 701Mb or 700Mb?
Thank you.

@ookzDVD: if you don't mind me answering...
Correct, DC's latest AutoRV9 uses the new method to enable EHQ, so a corrected DLL is not necessary.
Filesize: I have seen the filesizes tend to be 2-3 MB too large, so I would recommend changing to 695 MB as target filesize.

7th August 2003, 08:26
karl was (as always :) ) right.
for the filesize normally u can burn 703 mb on a cdr if my memory was right. but i think u can try to split the last minute (using rmeditor -i "c:\input.rmvb" -o "c:\splitted.rmvb -e XX:XX:XX.XXX ) and split the end credits i think it's the only solution.
i will try to improve the overhead calculation to avoid such problems.
Bye.

@karl,
Thank you for your confirmation ;)
@DC,
please, I found that lowering the target to 695Mb sometimes
impact the result too hard :(

Hi,
I'm new to anamorphic encoding with rv9 and was wondering what resolution you recommend producer resize to.
For instance, should I set the output resolution to my desktop resolution?
And would anamorphic resize be recommended in all instances, or only when the bits per pixel is greater than some threshold, say 0.13 for instance.
Cheers,
I'm still not sure how anamorphic resize will affect tv output, but I guess I'll find out in a couple of hours.
Dark-Cracker
8th August 2003, 07:59
hi,
anamorphic resolution is automaticly calculated by autorv9 based on your ratio selection . i have added a faked anamorphic mode (first resize lower the clip in avisynth and after ask at producer to strech the clip (allow to made some anamorphic encode at *common* resolution , it's surely better to use it if u want use tv output).
my anamorphic mode can be used at each instance , for normal anamorphic (produce more hight resolution) u need i think at last 0.15 bits/pix but it depend also of the compressibility of your movie. work well for 1H30 movie at 700 Mb.
any comment on tv output result are welcome :)
Bye.

hi,
i have made a little update (overwrite old file) :
url:
----
http://www.eclipsedvd.firstream.net/autodub/Autorv9_v1.3b4.5.zip
change log :
--------------
- fix the bitrate problem
- fix some refresh problems (in the autocrop, or ratio values)
- add DTS support
i have added the dts support, and some tests are welcome.
how to made these tests :
METHODE 1)
download a DTS trailer here :
http://www.cinenow.com/us/vobtrailer.php3
use DVD2AVI v1.77.x to extract the .dts file and made the .d2v
and start an normal encode.
METHODE 2)
create this .avs file
--------------- start -------------
blankclip(length=359,width=300,height=50,fps=25).subtitle("pulpfiction sample")
---------------- end ------------
save on your hard disk this .dts sample :
http://mitglied.lycos.de/stefanstrobl/download.htm
(click on : "for len0x: download your dts sample ...")
COMMON PART :
open in autorv9 .avs/.d2v file, select for the audio stream the .dts file,select output size , and start some tests for stereo or multichannel output. :)
post a msg if this have succeded or failed. of course a little description of the error or of the result is welcome. :)
BYe.

hi,
another little update :)
http://www.eclipsedvd.firstream.net/autodub/Autorv9_v1.3b5.zip
- fixed 100% the bitrate problem :)
- improve systray function
- possibility to change priority on the fly (dblclick on systray icon)
- fix possible problem with DTS and "force 6ch" option
- improve "force 6 ch" audio quality
- add IDTC param for mpeg2dec3.dll
PS: u need to have a registered Windvd platinum (upper than v4.5) software else u will obtain a silent audio stream.
i also want to say a big great at the 5 people who have made some tests for the DTS (apparently people on this forum are less motivated).

# CROPPING
Video=Crop(Video,0,0,720,480)

# AnaMorphic Resize (Do not Edit These Values)
# Real Resize Values : Width X Height ( 720 X 528 )
Video=LanczosResize(Video,792,528)

Is that normal for anamorphic resize? Source is 4:3... Looks like a double resize. One by AVIsynth with 1.5 AR, then one in producer, with 1.36 AR. I don't get it :confused:

Now I can't start it. I get "Dépassement de capacité". I can access all tabs, and all labels are blank. :D

I found settings.cfg that was confusing AutoRV9:

[ANAMORPHIC]

[ANAMAORPHIC]

hum
could u say me which resolution input was your file ? (try to explain me exactely how to reproduce this situation).
have u select option "keep cropped resolution" ?
yes u need to delete your old settings.cfg (conflict beetween old alpha version and new alpha version :) )

17th August 2003, 03:59
-Input-
Rez: 720x480
Format: 4:3
-Output-
Rez: 720x528
AR: 1.3
Type: Vertical Anamorphic
How it went bad:
1) Load D2V
2) in video tab, set NTSC, 4:3
you'll get rez: 720x528.
3) choose Anamorphic
you'll get rez: 792x528 :(
Problem:
1) Resize in AVISynth to a wierd rez
2) Resize in Producer for correct AR
Expected result:
AVIsynth:
Input: 720x480
Output: 720x480
Producer:
Input: 720x480
Output: 720x528 (anamorphic)
I hope this will help :)

hi,
@ Sirber
could u try this version ?
http://www.eclipsedvd.firstream.net/autodub/Autorv9_v1.3_alpha.zip
changelog :
-----------
- save the last settings used (in setting.cfg)
- improve the anamorphic calculation.
- add basic multilanguage (german, and spanish)
if u are interested to made a translation, post a msg here : http://rackspeed.he.net/~adntat/dark/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=380 with your name, email and language.
now it automaticly select beetween anamorphic vertical or horizontal.
(i think however the option "keep cropped resolution" should failed on NTSC 4/3 material).
all tests are welcomes. if someone could try to check if the value are corrects for 16/9 and 4/3 and for PAL or NTSC country.
Thank u bye :)
PS: there is sometimes a problem of refresh in anamorphic value for the value if u change ratio or country (simply check/uncheck the tickbox this will give u the correct numbers).
PS2: i think the beta 5.6 will be out friday and the next week ( the 1st september autorv9 v1.3 final will be out).
to do list : finish multilanguage support, improve the avisynth filters used , perhaps an help file.
this time it's really the end of the post :)
Bye.

i am working on a UTF-8 (unicode) support :
http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=59879
but apparently there is a problem in my tool, it doesn't correctely encode character like 'ö' but correctely character like 'ä' apparently there is a problem when it return the unicode value for a character, i will try to made some searchs and say u when it's fixed.

I´m a comletly newbie in rv9 arena right now.
I´ve made my second encode last night and i want to make a question.......i´ve made American Beauty with 2 audio tracks and ending credits.............the problem was autorv9 joined final video+credits, but not the 2 audio streams.........now i got one final .rmvb file with video+credits (1.rmvb) and two .rm files with audio (1_stream.rm and 2_stream.rm).......how can i join this 3 files???
I´m using Autorv9_v1.3b5.5.
Thanks a lot for your time and effort, and i apologize because my poor english.

hi,
no problem for your poor english mine is more crap :)
in fact u can't mux 2 audio stream in a .rmvb container u need to use the .smil file (normaly generated by autorv9) to launch the video and the audio in the same time. it's the only way.
but if u want u could try matroska container (.mkv) to store the 2 audio .rm file and video .rmvb file (and even subtitle) in the same container :
read this thread it's my little tool to made this mux automaticly :
http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=57318
else media player classic and realone support .smil file.

I have a big problem! I have a movie which I captured before week. But when I try to opoen it with AutoRV9 (over a .avs-file) it shows not the correct movie-information:
It shows 376x272 instead of 368x272
FPS 24 instead of FPS 25
240Frames instead of 33318Frames
I don't know why. I used the huffyuv-codec to capture, and with all the other captured movies I don't have this problem and they are captured exactly the same way. GSpot and other utilities show the correct informations. I tried to reencode the movie (also with huffyuv, so there should be no loss), because I thought of a little problem in the header or so, but it didn't solve the problem!
Any answers?

(c:\TempAVS.avs, line 2) (that's: Import ("F:\temp1\simpsons.AVS").ConvertToYV12())

29th August 2003, 10:33
I agree with Lobuz, a filter bypass method would be much appreciated by people who manually script things.
I would like to add that some tooltips saying what each of the options does would be much appreciated. For example for the "Hightmotion" option you could write something like "Detects the amount of motion and adds grain accordingly to give a better looking image" and then point people to the hightmotion.avs. For the medium fluxsmoothing you could put something like "Smooths both the 2D image and along the temporal axis. [FluxSmooth(7,5)]" (if that is the correct setting of course).
The logging is coming along nicely but the "always on top" check box is a bit slow to respond.
Otherwise, keep up the good work! :)
EDIT: I also noticed that Avisynth 2.xx was stated in the installer and not 2.52 but forgot.

DarkCracker: OK, fair enough. Something appears to be wrong with either joining the main movie and credits and muxing in the audio or it's just deleting the output. I left 1.3b6 doing some futurama episodes overnight and none of the outputs are present.
Aha! I think I've just stumbled across the problem at the bottom of the log...

Error: Cannot paste files because the video streams in one file do not match the video streams in another file.
***********************************************
Why is this happening? I've noticed that
# AUDIO SOURCE
Audio = WavSource("C:\DVD\Projects\FUTURAMA_SEASON3_DISC1_VTS_01_PGC2\Stream1.wav")
#
# COMBINE VIDEO + AUDIO
Video=AudioDub(Video,Audio)
is in both the credits avs script and the movie avs script. Is this correct? Does it trim the audio according to the frame number you've trimmed to in your avisynth script? If not, I think that could be the problem.

the encoding speed is too slow, do you change any setting

beta5.6 & M5 work faster with the same setting.

u can download here a pack made by "MWI prod" for my tool.
http://atlas2.tgv.net/~media-video/forum2/download.php?id=103
(but u need also have install the oggDs filter)
hope this will solve your problems.
@ookzDVD
normaly there shouldn't have speed differences, but perhaps in M6 they have made some changes on the EHQ and perhaps this slowdown the encode. i have added a "Speed Test" button at the "output" tab, u enter a % of your movie to encode and it will calculate the avg. FPS and give an estimation for the estimated time to encode the whole movie.
@Big_Berny
i give this tips because once for me, it have save the bug in the import function.
Bye.

OK, thanks DarkCracker. I don't suppose you could post a link to the old version could you?
EDIT: Never mind. I've obtained the dll from elsewhere. :)
