Hi-

Do you have Office 2003 installed?

No.

Please confirm here if it's OK or not.

I'll wait until it's fixed. I didn't understand what you wrote anyway. Thanks.

It works now. Thank you.

Manusse just warned me that two dlls are still missing, so if you want to try out the Google translate option, or OCR, you need to download it yet again :stupid:

Hi,

I can't read your attachment yet as it is not approved but I would advice you use another name for the output file.

You can convert a .sup or .sub/.idx to srt using the Tools -> Recognize text using OCR function. It will use Office 2003's embedded OCR. So you need to have Office 2003 (or later?) installed on your PC.

hi manusse,

and what if someone don't have office installed at all, like me
is there any workaround for builtin OCR to work ?

something like a package of needed libraries to be self-registered ???

:thanks:

Another solution is to use SubtitleCreator to convert your vobsub files to sup and then to use DVDSubedit to convert the SUP to srt.

i've allready done this but DVDSubEdit's OCR unfortunately produces unreadable greek characters

Maybe you can use SubRip? I know it can read VobSub files.

i was expecting your tip about subrip

it makes fine .srt files but with some letters it produces double characters, one letter and one space right after it
like O, it OCRs "O" but produces "O "

maybe i have something wrong in my matrices :o

thanks for your time

Hi

I've just tested your application - version 2.0.6
I ripped the first chapter of a movie and used PGCDemux to split it into streams, video, audio and sup.

I used another application to get the sub-text in SRT-format.

I then moved all files test.mv2, test.ac3, test.srt to a new folder and loaded the srt-file into subcreator - only checking "PAL" and "Use anti-aliases filter" - and changing the font and colors for test purpose:
Font = Univers 20 Bold (TrueType)
Background = 00 Blue (Transp. checked)
Text = 03 White
Outline = 02 Black
Anti-alias = 04 Green

Text-colors looks fine in SC!

I saved the file test.sup and mux'ed the files using Muxman.

When I play the test-dvd on my PC using "Media Player Classic"
or "Intervideo WinDVD 6" the subs have different colors than seen in SC:
Background : White
Text : White
Outline : Black
Anti-alias : unknown (maybe black or white)

and the subs are positioned differently (vertically) than in SC.

What is wrong here ?

regards Pol

Hi,

Please use the 2.1 beta 4 of SC which includes many bug fixes.

About the color problems, it is a very common problem. You must open the IFO file of your movie with SC so that it uses the same color palette as your original DVD. Then you can change the colors and generate the sup file.

About the positioning, it can be related to an anamorphic DVD? Did you try the internal preview of SubtitleCreator?

Cheers

Hi - The latest beta corrects the problems - Thanks.
Yet, it is still a mystery to me that such a fundamental issue can go wrong - it appear that you were saving the same color palette index to both the background and the text - It must have been correct in an earlier version.

The preview is much better in positioning the subs vertically, than the the default background vindow and the built in options.

I have been adding subtitles to DVDs for some time now, but converting srt files to sup files was a bit inconvenient wrt the subtitle colors. Although srt2sup created another tool, SupRemap, to solve this problem, I found that it took to much time and as I wanted to try C#, I wrote a program myself, SubtitleCreator (https://sourceforge.net/projects/subtitlecreator/), that does what srt2sup can do, and much more:

much ,much more .thankx bro for this excelent program

I had a problem recently with some movies ,the problem is that i cant see the movie ,just a black screen.

I have tried several versions but it always crash when I try to run it. I have all the .NET updates. Is there anything I can try so I can run the application?

I really would like to try the feature of being able to open HD subtitles and save them as regular resolution subs.
