hi i had some troubles with gknot 0.32

this is my script:
------------------
LoadPlugin("C:\PROGRA~1\GORDIA~1\AVISYN~1\removedirts.dll")
LoadPlugin("C:\PROGRA~1\GORDIA~1\AVISYN~1\xlogo.dll")
LoadPlugin("C:\PROGRA~1\GORDIA~1\AVISYN~1\loadpluginex.dll")
LoadPlugin("C:\PROGRA~1\GORDIA~1\AVISYN~1\mpegdecoder_yuy2.dll")
LoadPlugin("C:\PROGRA~1\GORDIA~1\AVISYN~1\dustv5.dll")

v = mpegsource("c:\temp\vid\video.m1v", 82148)
v = xlogo(v, "c:\temp\vid\xlogo_2.bmp", x=22, y=22, alpha=0)
v = crop(v, 8,8,-8,-8, align=true)

i = removedirt(v, grey=true, pthreshold=10, mthreshold=140,
\ range1="me-mo.txt", grey1=true,
\ pthreshold1=10, mthreshold1=130, athreshold1=40,
\ range2="hi-mo.txt", grey2=true,
\ pthreshold2=10, mthreshold2=120, athreshold2=30)

o = improvesceneswitch(i,v, field=0, ratio=4)
o = pixiedust(o, limit=5)

O = CONVERTTOYV12(O)

return o
---------------

only with CONVERTTOYV12() i can see the picture in gk, without it ccript opens but no picture (i guess its my system prob but i do have huffyuv codec installed) - also tested Blankclip().converttoyuy2() and blankclip().converttoyv12(), same story...

also above script gives me "removedirt doesnt have 'grey' argument..." ??? second time i open it (in one gknot session), first time opens ok...

i checked all scripts (YUY2 or YV12) in vdubmod and they are ok...

my system is winme with avisynth 2.5.5 and vdubmod 1.5.4.1

if someonw can help me with this it would be great... thanks, bye

I met a minor bug... generally I let gordian to append Credits and Muxing Audio to the final AVI...

Last day Gordian 0.32 failed to add a DTS track... I found a VirtualDub warning that he was unable to recognize track.

Manual muxing worked without problems.

I just installed GK 032b.

When opening the d2v file I noticed the Bits/(Pixel*Frame) rating was 0.82. That's very high.
After doing a compressibility test on default settings, that value became 0.75, and the load 130%; Resolution being the same as the DVD.
Same thing with another movie as well.

Something is not right here

Do some of you guys have the same experience?

After downgrading to 0.28.7 the problem was over.

Hi there.
I don't wish to use XviD 1.0.2 chroma motion. When I remove it from the default options in Gordian knot 0.32 beta it is still on at the final stage (at the point of locating sound files and the final chaeck of codec settings). I also have it switched off in the codecs own default settings.

I'm gonna build a new installer soon (0.33 stable), so if you have any show stopper bugs (that I do not promise to fix) shout now :)

calculating xvid bitrate for matroska is wrong i think...

please check it if you can...

thanks bye...

No one complain so far about MKV overhead... And to be honest as I never done a proper MKV/OGM encode (and not willing yet :) ) - I won't be touching that part of GK for the time being...

Sorry this might seem like a "nub" question ... but when I choose "None" for noise filter, it still puts UnDot() in the .avs script ... I thought that choosing "None" would make it not use UnDot() at all.

Undot() is used in all scripts, it is considered a standard tool of GK. It is very fast, and won't impact content that doesn't need it.

niamh
14th December 2004, 08:28
If you use the advanced avs window, Undot won't appear at all either, it only does in the normal avs window.

iradic
15th December 2004, 11:00
hi,

as i guess this is gonna be last release, i ask you to enable full control over avs filters in advanced avs window if possible (i guess its gonna be a NO :) but i need to ask ...) - i mean crop, resize and deinterlace ...

thanks bye

len0x
15th December 2004, 15:48
Advanced window does support all the filters (crop&resize are in the "Core" group, may be they were not there previously but I've put updated version of all XML definitions into new pack). So all you have to do is don't crop in the main window (or edit script on the script tab as usual) And no, its not gonna be the last version...

Please test this installer:

(change log in the info tab)

iradic
15th December 2004, 15:54
ha, sorry...

but i meant control over the script gknot creates ... (for example crop doesnt show in filters dialog), but ok no problem

i was little afraid about gknot future :)

thanks for your work, bye...

The test installer works fine here. I tried to install on top of the other to see what would happen, and even though I got the slightly cryptic message belowPrevious version of Gordian Knot is not found. You have to uninstall it first.Uninstaller will be automatically launched. , the uninstaller was indeed launched, and the install afterwards was glitchless.

(added: Windows XP pro corporate, SP1)

lol
I gotta change the message :)

hi

i think that new version of fluxsmooth doesnt support "fluxsmooth()" function anymore ... either "fluxsmoothS()" or "fluxsmoothST()" is now correct usage...

gknot produces scripts with "fluxsmooth()" ...

bye

len0x

ok, will fix that

with gordian there is not the PreGain and Dialog normalization

p.s

I is not an expert but I believe that the problem is in the command line of the gordian for besweet

-ota ( -Hybridgain) in gordian

-ota ( -hybridgain) in besweetGUI

I did some tests from dos and there are differences using the two command lines

I wanted to remember this small bug

thanks lenox for your work ;)

Its taken care of. cheers

@JuanCC

At some point next week. The only difference to the installer above so far is:
- installer message changed
- fluxsmooth naming fixed
- hybridgain problem fixed

Using the latest beta, whenever i try to 'Add Job to Encoding queue' it produces a message about some access violation at a certain address. If i keep audio processing disabled in the Audio 1 tab then no problem. I then have to do the audio processing myself. If i revert to the previous beta it works ok. I have played with several audio settings in order to determine some pattern but all of them produce this error. This error is recoverable, since if i press ok, i can go on disable the sound and add the job.

using XP sp2

I can confirm the access violation for adding a job with audio to the queue with GK 0.33, but I didn't get it while reopening an avi file (as ngr states in another place)(though I remember an alpha that had this issue) . I have SP1

I had this problem myself, but after complete reinstall of GK (with deletion of registry settings) I couldn't reproduce it anymore...

niamh
21st December 2004, 19:29
I just clean reinstalled like you said, and I'm still getting it. Whatever settings I use. And I get it for the audio job only too.

edit: ah, Vorbis audio seems to get through :)
2nd edit: it's gone for good :D ...funny thing that, I got 2 or 3 more warnings after reinstall, then it was all fine..

len0x
21st December 2004, 19:48
Same for me basically. It makes it really hard to fix the problem you can't reproduce :)

A few suggestion, please consider:

1] Can we have GK full screen, with a popup window when viewing the d2v project, or a small windows below the app that shows the project, right now, both the windows are a free for all, and just pop up anywhere on the screen.

2] Can GK save jobs that are queued, sometimes i need to do the job again, cause i need the pc, but i have to cancel everything and do it over again.

Hope u consider this.

Big fan of the app, thanks a bunch for it lenox.
