no support for .dtsma file extension?
after demuxing a bluray with eac3to i get some audio files with this extension.
but i cant load them to TAC.
@hubblec4 which version do you use? 32-64bit, portable-installer? I can compile one with support for that extension and post it here.

i have try the 64bit portable version.
but i will test the 32bit portable version too.
Sorry I wasn't at home for a while. Here is TAudioConverter.exe 64bit and portable w,th dtsma extension support: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/9617171/TAudioConverter_64_portable.7z

ok, i can select the file and try to open it.
but the file will dont load.
there is no file added in TAC.
Can you open this file with mediainfo? If so, please post mediainfo's output.
Also after a google search I found this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DTS-HD_Master_Audio
If your file is indeed DTS-HD Master Audio, then I suggest you use eac3to because FFMpeg can only decode "core" -I think it is lossy part, but I don't know much about dts-ma- of these files AFAIK.

Thanks jkauff.
This is the first time I compiled for 64bit (well there is TEncoder but I mean in general), I tested as much as I could but if you have any problems please report them.
I've been using the 64-bit version tonight, and it works great.
You've come a long way from the early days. TAC is now a very sophisticated program with a well-designed and attractive user interface. I design UIs for a living, so you can take my word.
Everyone should donate. TAC is well worth the money.

Thanks jkauff, you and other members have been great support from the start.
@hubblec4 is it possible that you send me a sample? Dtmsa file's size seems to be huge but if you could send one of the other shorter titles' stream I'd appreciate it. Meanwhile I'll look for free sample dts-ma files online.
Edit: I downloaded a free sample from online. Looks like mediainfo cannot get dtsma file's duration. I'll try to use ffmpeg in weekend when I have time.

All Temp wav files are deleted only after convection of all files are completed but they should be converted & deleted one by one.
One way to do is - tac will pipe the files directly to sox & sox will process & save only one temp wav then tac will send the temp.wav to the converter executable and wait for the converter executable to stop then tac will delete the temp.wav file and process the next file in the list.
For example tac pipes first file from the list to sox.exe then sox.exe normalizes & saves it as temp.wav then tac passes the temp.wav file to lame.exe and waits for the lame.exe process to close once the lame.exe is converted the file and lame.exe precess closes tac will delete the temp.wav file and start processing the next file in the list this will reduce the hard disk space needed and the time needed for decoding the input file as wav.
The tac searches neroAacTag.exe & neroAacEnc.exe in the root folder but since all the other encoders are placed in the Tools folder tac should search neroAacTag.exe & neroAacEnc.exe in the Tools folder.

@kolpotoru I fixed deleting both temp wav and SoX temp files. I'll release a new version in a few days. There are a couple of things I want to fix and add.

I have been trying out TAC(0.8.7.1705)portable_64bit, and it has been working great. Was just prompted to update to the latest version, so I downloaded TAC(0.8.8.1856)portable_64bit, and tried it but I immediately get an error message stating "An error occurred in the application."
Tried several of the AAC encoders, but still get the same message.
Reverted back to 8.7.1 and it works perfectly!
Anyone else experiencing this?

I did not have to do that with the previous version.

Once again I forgot to delete some debugging code: TAC tries to write some text files to C:\ with names "1.txt, 2.txt, 3.txt, 4.txt". They hold the names of temp wav files to be deleted. This might be why you need to run it as admin.

Thanks for your quick reply! Yes it seems to work just fine if I start the application with Run as Admin.
Very nice program! I like the new completion tune too! ;)

Could you add an option to encode only a specific amount of time on a file ie skipping the first 17 seconds or last 13 seconds or both?

I plan to add a trimmer/editor.

I added trimmer function. Please use it with care. No preview yet. I considered using bass library for preview but I'm not sure it can handle videos. I'll try to find a small mplayer.exe.

Well that was quick. I've tested a few files and it has worked properly so far. I'm not sure what you mean by a 'preview' function though.
ozok
22nd June 2013, 20:07
I mean previewing the cut part so that you can see the result before encoding. Something like a player.

The trim tool appears to apply to entire batches once it's enabled instead of individually per file. Is that the intended use? I would like to set up a batch with individual trims per file if it's possible.

No, it isn't. But there seems to be a bug. If you add files, trim them and then remove them all or a few of them and add new files to the list, previous trim values aren't reseted and wil lbe used for new files. I'm working on a fix.

Thank you for fixing the temp file non deletion bug & adding end process sound as suggested by me previously.
I was trying to convert two files in two different format at once but changing the second files format both files got converted to same format, for instance first file set to mp3 & second file set to wma but both files got converted to wma.

Yes TAC works as batch converter, same options are applied to all files in the list.

Could you also add the following to the FLAC command line when lossyWAV is enabled?
-b 512 --keep-foreign-metadata
This is per http://wiki.hydrogenaudio.org/index.php?title=LossyWAV#Codec_compatibility though I ignored the -5 part since people may want to choose their own compression level.
You could add the blocksize modifier to all the other applicable lossless codecs as well when lossyWAV is enabled, I just selfishly want it for FLAC since that's what I'm using.
ozok
29th June 2013, 19:41
Adding "-b 512 --keep-foreign-metadata" to flac command line helped reducing file size (without "-b" option 135mb to 117 mb with "-b" option, source 16bit 44100 11 flac files, lossywav: standart quality, flac -8). I'll add an option to enable these option from the link you posted.

I have two questions -
1.ffprobe is used for what purpose in TAudioConverter?
2. And this is written in the ffprobe website -
IMPORTANT NOTE: this variant of ffprobe is unmaintained, rely on the ffprobe tool integrated in the current FFmpeg instead,
so why the integrated ffprobe tool is not used?
FFprobe is not included in the package. Are you sure you didn't put it there? I looked latest versions copies I have and they don't have ffprobe.exe.

I have extracted TAC(0.8.9.1871)portable_32bit & then updated it using the updated executable posted in the above post https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/9617171/TAudioConverter_32_portable.7z
and ffprobe is present in the tools folder.
why ffprobe is/was used in TAC?
I remember using it once but I don't remember for what. But it can produce nice formatted output so that might be it. Latest version shouldn't need it, you can remove it.

Not a big issue but why TAC doesn't show under supported file list mp2 and mpa containers while it's able to convert them?
I must have forgetton them. I'll fix this with next release.

BTW: would you be able to add support for file splitting according to a cue sheet?
mastrboy

Does TAudioConverter handle the delay parameter in filenames demuxed with DGIndex/DGDecNV correctly?
Example filename:
VTS_10_1.VOB T80 3_2ch 48KHz 448Kbps DELAY -223ms.ac3
If not, could such support be added?
ozok
11th July 2013, 12:57
@kleen, yes I plan to add it.
@mastrboy, no TAC doesn't have that feature. But isn't this information useful when you mux audio with video? TAC outputs only audio so what is the point of it?
mastrboy
11th July 2013, 14:06
It's useful for when you want to remove the delay in the encoding process instead of putting that information in the container.
Example of a avisynth script MeGUI uses when delay is detected in the filename should explain what I mean:
LoadPlugin("C:\Program Files (x86)\MeGUI\tools\avisynth_plugin\NicAudio.dll")
NicAc3Source("G:\Vobs\VTS_10_1.VOB T80 3_2ch 48KHz 448Kbps DELAY -223ms.ac3")
DelayAudio(-223.0/1000.0)
Normalize()
return last
MeGUI then also renames the new audio file to indicate that the delay has been removed, new file name:
VTS_10_1.VOB T80 3_2ch 48KHz 448Kbps DELAY 0ms.mp4
ozok
11th July 2013, 15:05
So TAC should remove/add silence from/to beginning of file according to this delay value and its sign?
mastrboy
11th July 2013, 16:13
TAC itself is just a GUI for other tools? In that case the parameters only needs to be passed a long to the encoder/filter software like eac3to or sox.
A option in the settings gui to enable/disable this functionality might not be a bad idea either.
ozok
11th July 2013, 16:15
Yes that's what I meant.
kleen
11th July 2013, 20:11
@kleen, yes I plan to add it.
