Yeah, that's right.
But for encoding with ripbot I need an evo-file. If I extract the evo with hdstreamextractor (HSE) I get ALL audio-streams and subtitles. But I need an EVO-file with only the audio-stream I selected in HSE.
Is that possible?
Or is there any other tool able to create a EVO containing chapters, audio-/video-stream and subtitles I extracted with HSE?
Thanks.

@QUEENFAN
Hi!
Have you looked at "EVOdemux"?
The following is from its history:Change for v0.52
- New feature: Rebuild. Make another .EVO file which contains only the selected streams

Hello, and thanks for creating such a great tool.
A small feature request: can the "-core" and "-down16" options be integrated somehow into the dropdown menus? for example, they could be another option in the "extract as" menu, "DTS-core" and "FLAC 16bit" respectively.

@<><: I'll look into it
@mixanobios: I'm wanting to create option screens for each format so you can set specific options for DTS, FLAC etc. As a workaround you can put those in the +Options for now.

Thanks for your answer, i am already doing that :)
I would like to know if it is possible (that is if eac3to allows it) to create a DTS core and a FLAC of a TRUEHD track at the same time(that would be a big timesaver as the 40+GB of the bluray would only be read once), and if not, if hdbrstreamextractor can batch that into two jobs.
Finally another small request would be a confirmation dialog before overwriting files.

I know for sure that Arcsoft will only decode one track at a time. Not sure if you're using it though.

no, i dont use arcsoft as it is not free. My intention is to remux my blurays into mkv's with the DTS-core audio, and have a flac with the lossless track in the same folder in case i get a better audio system in the future.

I am trying to convert an ac3 into stereo wav file. I specified my input file, then click Feature to retrieve the ac3 stream info. The info was shown ok. Then I click Extract, a pop-up said "Retrieve streams prior to enqueueing job." Click OK, nothing happened. What shall I do to proceed?
Greif

you need to select the stream you want to extract and choose the format you want to extract it as.

Hi, I've been using your program for a while, and thanks by the way. One thing I've noticed since 0.6 is that TrueHD streams don't show thd anymore in the "'extract as" column. Is this known? I've searched for it in the thread but nothing came up. 0.5 doesn't work well, and the older version (not sure of build, but older than 0.5) seems to work fine in this regard.

Greif, it would be nice if you could make streams with a single output type (chapter-> TXT, or Subs->SUP for example), to default to that type.
Thanks

Found another bug... When TrueHD does not show up on the audio pull down when its a TrueHD track. In otherwords I cant create a MKV keeping the TrueHD audio track. This is important as now you can bitstream TrueHD, etc. in a MKV using the new ffdshow beta with a ATI 5xxx card. M2TS doesnt have chapter support which is what I want and M2TS is about 10% larger then the same movie in MKV.

Thanks.

Long standing issue with the HD stream extractor. When selecting an output format you need to click on the box 3 times to get a drop down. (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1360244#post1360244)Do you experience that with the 0.6 version? I do remember there was an issue previously with having to click twice on the drop-down in order for it to appear, but I thought that issue was resolved.
I was just using the software today at lunch, and I do not recall having that problem. I'll double-check both source trees tonight.

Hi Greif,
it is working in version 0.6, but not in the version integrated into MeGUI. How did you fix it? Could you tell the changes to Zathor who is currently aware of MeGUI development? Or fix it in MeGUI yourself?
That would be very nice, I thank you in advance,
Raist

I believe the fix was simply setting the EditMode property of the Stream DataGridView: this.StreamDataGridView.EditMode = System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewEditMode.EditOnEnter;

I wonder why so many people use Google Code instead of SourceForge, it seem to be very poor compared to SourceForge, code download requires using the command shell which is very bothersome for many win users.
I'm getting a null reference crash opening a MakeMKV created file. If I had the code or a debug version I would tell you filename and line number.

Obviously, you don't know what TortoiseSVN is...
btw, mkv support in eac3to is not yet finished...so, it's not the appropriate tool for that. Use mkvextract instead...

You are right doesn't matter if you use a console or GUI client. Problem was using a client is harder than a web download when you don't checkout different projects often. StaxRip is at SourceForge and I completely avoid using the command shell as it's hard for me to remember or type commands, guess what I use? TortoiseSVN, well I used that but it's stupid to have explorer cluttered up with menu items in completely irrelevant locations, when you commit code only once a month then TortoiseSVN is the worst possible solution. I'm using RapidSVN now but I don't have time to setup a application be it GUI or console to checkout code. I have the console client and it's not rocket science to paste the command line for a checkout, hardest part is probably to find where I have the application, it's not available globally, maybe that would be a good idea but still I'm expecting a web download be it code or debug version including program debug database (*.pdb file including source code information), at codeplex and SourceForge code web download is available. Google code might be fast and lightweight but lacks important features.

Thanks, that's important to know for what I want to achieve.

Does the application work directly on AnyDVD decrypted discs or do I have to rip the entire disc to the hard drive first? I'm asking because I was trying to run it on same PAL X Files disc and after analyzing it crashes. It's a native crash. I'm coding .NET since 1.0 so I have a raw idea why the CLR error handling fails, there must be a bug in your threading code, you must catch the exception in the worker thread and forward it to the main thread.
As a side note I think usability wise there is room for improvement, the GUI is constructed from a programmers view in a way a disc is structured. I would rather present different stream types like subtitles in a dedicated list control like a ListView with check boxes enabled (ListBox and CheckedListBox don't support visual themes) or with a TreeView with dedicated nodes for different stream types. Right now a lot scrolling is needed if there are many languages which is common in germany and many other countries. Typically users only choose certain languages so the application could remember these languages and preselect them the next time.

Here are the planned changes I have for the next version:
- migrate to .NET 4.0 Client Profile (ETA for release is April 12th)
- reduce CPU utilization for GUI
- fix TrueHD stream extracts
- set default selection for single-option extraction types
- add option to review/modify command-line prior to execution (Ctrl+click Extract button)
- some slight GUI changes

Thanks so much for this GUI, I've really enjoyed using it, very user friendly, can't wait for the new update :)
Greif
9th April 2010, 22:23
Yeah, the new update will reduce the CPU utilization quite a bit. I've finally gotten around to running the code through a profiler. I should have the .NET 2.0 release out this weekend.
However, after that release, I will move to .NET 4.0 next week.

9th April 2010, 22:54
A profiler for reading a string from STDOUT to display a status message???
Why 4.0 instead 3.5 which is included by Win 7, 4.0 don't has great improvement over 3.5.
Greif
9th April 2010, 23:11
Surprisingly enough yeah. ;) I wasn't sure why the GUI was taking so much CPU resources - it was obvious once the profiler showed it to me.
Why 4.0? I want to try looking into MKV muxing and might attempt to do things in parallel. And I just want to use the newest version of the .NET Framework. I've been using Visual Studio 2010 RC recently and will upgrade on Monday to the RTM version.

I just did another test, if I am using a Blu Ray disc as the source then HdBr does not give me the option to extract the TrueHD audio track as TrueHD. However, if I use HdBr with a TrueHD mkv as the source then HdBr does give me the option to extract as TrueHD. Hope this helps.
