here are my results btw i am using Cole2k Media codec pack (if it makes any difference?)
Matrix Reloaded(DD+)-delay on audio set to 1000ms
Matrix Revolution(THD)- NONE
Bourne Identity(DD+)-None
Bourne Supremacy(DD+)- delay on audio set to1000ms
Shooter (DD+)-None
**FYI when i did matrix revolution i set my chapter interval to 15min instead of 10min in tsRemux for some reason this caused the movie to cut off at the end. However after going back to 10min interval worked fine. Also if audio doesn't sync use 1000ms delay w/tsMuxeR. (worked for most of my conversions).**
No sync issues with new guide ;-)

Edit: Okay, you can still do it. You just have to go to advanced mode. So click on edit, then "Go Advanced". That should do it.

Glen,
Thanks for all your efforts in putting this great guide together.
Could you just help a numpty out on the vc1conv stage please ?
Can you explain exactly how you navigate to the vc1conv folder within the dos screen ?
If I put the vc1conv folder in the c:\ drive and copy your command line into dos I get error messages and that doesn`t work. If I put the vc1conv into the c:\ Document and Settings\David> folder then that just says access denied when I press enter.
Should I even put vc1conv into this Documents and Settings folder ? This line is listed on the dos screen.
On a couple of samples I tried I just imported the vc1 video into Scenarist and that worked perfectly, albeit 1080i.
If using vc1conv retains 1080p/24 video then I would prefer that method If I can get it to work.
Thanks a lot Glen

Vista or XP?
The vc1conv folder wants to be on the root of c:\ ideally
start > run > cmd [return]
cd\ [return]
cd vc1conv [return]
then run command
what error are you getting?

The best place to put any command line program like vc1conv or xport is in a directory that the Command Prompt window has a path to.
http://www.w6rz.net/path.jpg
There is always a path to C:\WINDOWS, so that's the most convenient place to put vc1conv.exe. Then it works in whatever directory you're in.

Thanks very much for your help with that, that`s sorted it.
It was the cd\ and cd vc1conv that I didn`t know to do.

Maybe this has already been asked, but why not just choose "Create Blu-ray Disk" in tsMuxeR 1.5 and skip the Scenarist steps to create the Bluray folder?

after extensive testing the only method which worked flawlessly on every disk was this method.
My original guide actually used tsmuxer but it does present a few problems now and again.

The new guide looks nice. Some comments:
(1) The eac3to link is not correct.
(2) delaycut 1.3.0.0 is not available on the original delaycut author's homepage.
(3) eac3to can automate Surcode encoding for you. Instead of "eac3to c:\videos\audio.ddp c:\videos\audio.wavs" you can simply do "eac3to c:\videos\audio.ddp c:\videos\audio.dts".
(4) EvoDemux does not correct audio delay. So with movies where the audio track begins later or earlier than the video track a manual delay correction will still be necessary. You could use "eac3to FEATURE_1.EVO+FEATURE_2.EVO -demux" for demuxing instead of using EvoDemux. That way audio sync should always be correct cause eac3to automatically delays all audio tracks (except TrueHD tracks) correctly.

Thanks for the points, I'll get the link fixed. I forgot about the later delaycut for ddp tracks.
However
The reason I used the .wavs and manually imported into surcode was for *cough* reasons I shouldn't really go into *cough* if you know what I mean *wink* *wink*
I've converted 20 movies now and never had an audio delay. If people have used the new guide and do have problems then I will update it again.
I will admit that I did get a few problems using tsmuxer but none through scenarist which is why I completely scrapped the original guide.

Check out this screenshot from your guide:
http://www.glenharrison.com/bluray/images/avc/1.jpg
The video track begins +83ms later than the first PTM of the movie. Now I don't know where the audio tracks begin with that movie (cause the screenshot doesn't show the audio tracks). I'd guess that the audio tracks begin at "+0ms". That means you'd have to apply a "-83ms" delay to the audio track to get perfect audio sync. Now many people will not notice a mismatch of 83ms. But still it's not right. And with some (only few) movies the delay differences are bigger than that.
You can find out the right audio delay by comparing the "+-xxxms" information shown by EvoDemux. You need to compare the values for the video track to the values for each audio track you're interested in.

Thanks for the guide. The HD->BR Keep FPS option in h264info_v22 fixed my framerate problem.
Scenarist looks complicated [not to mention extremely expensive, legally obtained at least]. Using TSMuxer, then TSRemux has been working well for me. I wonder which produces a more compliant Blu-ray structure...TSMuxer or TSRemux?

How can I split a file 000001.m2ts (4.5 gigs) into 2 files, 4 gigs and 500megs and create the playlist ?
I want to split the file to be able to copy the bluray into a externalHD on FAT32.

I didn't saw the part where tsssplitter create the playlist !
the hard part is not the split the file... is to create a valid avchd that will play on the PS3.. without human intervention.. I don'T want to manually start the 2th part of the movie.

I have looked for the solution to this and as far as i can tell the ps3 doesn't go on to the second file with out ur help, it seams it a sony safe guard against piracy or some shit lol
tho i convert the large m2ts file with megui and i get excellent quality and the filesize is around 3.8gig at a bitrate of around 5000
The only draw back is the time it takes around 19hrs on my dualcore E6400 cant wait for my quadcore

Scenarist cannot possibly know the right delay. The information is lost in the moment when you demux the tracks. So in order to get the delays perfect you either need to compare the delays of the video/audio tracks in EvoDemux (and then afterwards apply the necessary delays with delaycut or eac3to). Or alternatively you could use eac3to to demux the tracks. eac3to will then automatically do any necessary corrections (which EvoDemux does not do) while demuxing.

In your guide you say rip all audio tracks, unless you "somehow" know what language it is.
Why not mention that hitting "Read XPL" will give you all that information and more?

I dont really understand the point of all this stuff in the guide. i just took a hd-dvd, the bourne identity, loaded it into tsremuxer, and told it to output bluray format, keeping just the vc1 video track and the DD+ audio track. one click and then it was done and i played it perfectly in powerdvd with my HD2600 h/w acceleration.
going to try ultimatum and see if it works with the TrueHD track.
Is there something i am missing here?

I've done several vc1 movies using the latest procedure and have gotten perfect results.
After following the avc procedure to the letter for the first time, I attempted to load an AVC video ves file (Sum of All Fears) into Scenarist. Here's what I get in Scenarist immediately after trying to load the file:
Any ideas?

Here is a minor correction for your guide. On page three, you have checked: Write PPS and HD->BR for h264info. Scenarist wouldn't load the video for Transformers as an asset unless I went back and redid step 3 with "remove pulldown" checked.
Btw, it looks perfect. Thanks again for all your hard work.

More testing, after 5 attempts, no joy with Blades of Glory. Scenarist just wouldn't accept it as an asset and no error other than "error reading file" I re-ripped it twice as well. I ended up skipping the scenarist step for this movie and used tsMuxGUI and chose blu-ray output. I then used tsremux on the m2ts stream so that I could put it on 2 DL DVDs. Worked perfectly.
After testing about 5 h264 movies with this guide, Blades of Glory was the only one that I ultimately couldn't get it to work with.

For the movie blades of glory (same error you got in scenarist), I skipped scenarist (as quoted above.)
This is what I did to get it to work:
followed guide through step 3;
step 4: I used eac3to -libav -640 on the mpa to make the ac3 audio.
step 5:ran TSMUXer Gui 1.6.3, added the h264 and ac3 and chose "create blu-ray" after that, I ran tsRemux to split it into 2 for DVD-DL disks. Worked perfectly. This is the only case where I had to deviate from scenarist.
Hope this helps, give it a try.

I've used the method you descibe before successfully (I believe that it was the preferred method prior to glen8's latest one), but when Scenarist is not used as the muxer, the final product plays with some minor, infrequent but nonetheless noticeable, hesitations or skips when played back in a PS3. They are less noticeable when played in a PC.
The same thing happened with VC1 movies. That's why I first tried the lengthier Scenarist method with VC1. With VC1 titles done in the latest fashion, playback in PS3 is indeed perfect and that's why it's too bad that Scenarist and at least a few avc titles don't get along.
I hope that if anyone has been successful getting Scenarist to accept "Blades" or "Sum", they will post how they did so.
