I've got a request about BD stream export.
Somebody wants to create 720p subtitle stream. I would like to know how important this feature (how many people want to use this).

There is an option to export png in 720p, but I'm assuming this is for srt to sup export.

There is no 720p BD export yet.
The exported stream is 1920x1080 that's why you cannot see anything in the movie if you make smaller resolution video (the subtitle is there but outside of the screen).
That's why I've asked here about this feature.
So, it seems I have to make it. :)

i have 2 questions about Tsmuxer and Supread
1. i can not use Supread with my language(Thai) it can create but i can't read it.
2. How to mux sup files from the first question to exist m2ts file or replace some track of subtitles.

I'm trying to import an srt file to convert to sup, but every file i try i get a message saying "'' is not a valid integer value" and even though if i open the file in notepad the first line is always "1", the first line in the srt tab in supread is "1" and i don't have the option to export sup.

open the .srt with notepad and then save it and then try to load it with supread. else you will have to use a hexeditor and remove the first 3 hex chars. (seems to be a bug with mkvextract). you also can open it with subtitleworkshop 2.51 it seems to ignore those chars. and save it as a srt I think that removes the funky stuff also.

Thanks Jamos, tried copying the text to a new document and saving as .srt file in notepad but still no luck. The hexedit trick seems to work and is probably less work than opening in notepad and saving again.

Suppose i'll still have to wait for 720p output before i can use any subs on a AVCHD disc. Can't wait though, encoding anime just to hardcode subs can be a real pain!

Edit: Also, what are the best settings in options for output to use with your mkv to avchd guide?

what options? if you mean using megui, I use xolos bd config and set the bitrate to match what size i want usually for a dts film i use dvd-9 as dts sound files are much bigger than ac3 ones else with ac3 i use a small enough bitrate to fit on a dvd-5. I use Bincsoft Bitrate Calulator to calculate bitrate dont forget to enter in the bitrate of the audio output too. I add about 6 minutes to the total time of the movie to cover the extra space needed for the BD structure. And I always use 720p as using 1080p on dvd is stupid because the bitrate just isnt big enough to be good.

because I get a lot of missing caracters with the current code, although you have made a great tool. I'm using of course the last abc.png file...

I think it would be the best if you don't want to create another/same OCR engine like SubRip, but allow to mux the HD subs into vobsub idx/sub format (and vica versa) !!!
That way we can use SubRip later ...

I meant the options in Supread, don't worry though, did a test on a 1080 sample file on an AVCHD and the output from Supread worked great!

You must take into account that idx/sub format is defined only for SD subtitles. This means resizing the subtitle to SD before converting it. This is already possible for HD-DVD subtitles using SubtitleCreator. You may want to give it a try.

Thanks Pelican9 for your great SUPread. I love it very much. I tried to convert the traditional chinese subtitle SRT to SUP and use SUP on tsMuxeR. However, the traditional chinese subtitle cannot be displayed correctly. Can you please kindly make SUPread support traditional chinese subtitle?

Everytime i rip the Subs with xport and try to convert em with Subread i get a bunch of salad at the end.. many characters are bad or just missing, mainly ä ö ü characters but not only em, many others too. Is there a way of fixing that? Or some kind of workaround?

i have demuxxed an hd dvd and make with the right tools an BD compatible stream

i use supread to make bd compatible subs from hd dvd

i have make an sub for the kingdom, this was an forced sub, demuxxed with latest evodemux

i muxxed this with tsmuxxer but in powerdvd its enabled but i see no subtitels

in other players mpc, zoomplayer the subs are enabled but there is no subtitle


use zp or mpc homecinema and laod and seperate sub from disk is working, but the muxxed sub is not working
where is the prob?

can anyone give me a step by step way to convert hd dvd subs to blu ray?

Ah, my bad. Had problems with OCR and german umlauts. Then only looked at the beginning of abc.png and saw no ä/Ä. ß could also be replaced by ss, yes. With small letters its not really correct however Would be cool if you could add it too if it is not too much of a hassle.

sounds like you may have the wrong subtitle stream maybe? I would try using TSmuxer it gives you detailed info on subtitles and audio tracks to demux.

well there is two options on subtitles in tsremux and like you I thought it only supports BD subtitles for the supread option. I know also if you do not choose the supread option with bluray subtitles on export then you will just get a raw stream that supread cannot understand.
